Fortune House in Fife

This is one of the worst Chinese carry outs I’ve had in a long time .Two different chicken dishes both smothered in the same disgusting brown sauce .Nor am I convinced that the large chunks of chicken were real chicken,more like reconstituted something or other . It all ended up in the bin.On the plus side the food was hot and the girl at the cash desk was very friendly .

This take-away was close to where we were staying and we opted to buy from here for a late Friday night snack having had a large lunch earlier in the day. We opted for a selection of appetisers rather than mains. Portions were very generous and the food was delicious. Defintiely worth a visit if you fancy a wee Chinese take-away meal if you're in the area.

Worth the hour & half wait for delivery. Food excellent. Prefer out with summer period when deliveries are quicker

We were dubious about ordering takeaway as had not tried this Place.So glad we did, delicious Hot and Sour soup and wontons and spring rolls.Chicken chow mein and beef in black bean sauce with fried rice.All tasty, hot and Fresh.Could be one of the best takeaways I've had.Will definitely be ordering again.Swift friendly delivery and reasonable priced.No complaints and I'm not easily pleased!

so my man phoned up chineese innit, asked for happy box A. like walked down got it in bare time and it didnt even cost that much P. the food was peng and nice and spicy.Big up my man Hugo on the desk.Top lad good chat innit, would recomeend to any brudda out there innit.

Hugo is really polite and was great to talk to he makes everyone feel welcome, the food was unreal, i got a Happy Box A with a large gravy sauce for a great price it was made really fast was very pleased as i was really hungry.thanks a lot from Andrew

With such mixed reviews I wasn’t really sure what to expect of the Fortune House takeaway. We just had a light supper of a couple of starters and a special Chow Mein. The salt and pepper ribs were perfectly fine without being exceptional, and I liked the fact that they were served with some stir-fried onion and pepper. The pancake rolls consisted of two good sized rolls with a generous filling of mainly bean sprouts, which is how I like them. They also contained a few morsels of chicken and pork and the only downside was the inclusion of the dreaded tinned ham.I thought that most Chinese restaurants and takeaways had stopped using this dreadful relic of the 50s and 60s, but there are clearly still some diehards or cheapskates around. This horrid soft mush masquerading as ham also found its way into our special chow mein, which is a pity, because the rest of the dish was very nice. No doubt there are still some folk who like cooked tinned ham (and Spam), but for those who don’t like the stuff I’d suggest you steer clear of “special” dishes which contain mixed meats.Apart from the ham, we enjoyed what we had and would certainly use it again.

Chicken satay was out of this world, egg foo yung was excellent. I ordered for delivery at a nearby holiday park and the driver was really helpful too. Between it being highly recommended and my experience I'm baffled by the other reviews to be honest!

Staying in Pittenweem seen this place was not to far away, went though and ordered:•chicken curry with rice •Thai shredded chicken with chips •chicken spring rolls •ribs without sauce Chicken does not look or feel like chicken I couldn’t brig myself to put it in my mouth the curry sauce was all lumpy like it was from a packet. Ribs were soo dry and over cooked they were almost charcoal. After looking at the curry we didn’t even try the chicken spring rolls or the Thai shredded chicken. I’ll keep it all in the bag and fling it through there door if am passing again! What a let down

Excellent food friendly service . Very nice food for all of our family. Each dish was excellent and extremely tasty

Ordered a meal having had 2 previous bad experiences, however thought we would give it another go. Waited 2 hrs 20 to have it delivered to be so disappointed once again. Such a bland meal, no flavour will not give them my business again.

We had a takeaway on Good Friday. It was really busy - with mainly locals so a good sign. Food was delicious and they were able to adapt to cook something gluten free for my husband. Free prawn crackers too. Would highly recommend

Ordered a takeaway and was told it would be 55 minutes. Got there after an hour. Waited over half an hour to then be told it would be another 15 minutes, meaning it would have been almost 2 hours for an order I was told would be 55 minutes! Unacceptable and staff did not seem to care about the inconvenience. Do not recommend.

Very clean. Pleasant staff. Liked portion size choice. Very tasty and reasonable prices.Able to phone ahead or delivery.
