Phoenix Sports & Social Club in Rotherham

The quality of food served here has deteriorated dramatically over the last year. Sometimes overcooked and sometimes undercooked. The staff aren't pleasant. If it wasn't for the fact that this venue is chosen for convenient get togethers then we wouldn't go. What has happened to the lovely food and nice staff of the past?

We went for Mother’s Day ..absolutely beautiful main course of a Sunday lunch and dessert ..there was 14 of us ..the food was hot and fresh..the service quick and very efficient ..lovely pleasant waitresses

Was my sister funeral on the 30th and had a buffet that I can only describe I wouldn’t serve to my dogs everything was dry and and hot food was stone cold wasn’t much variety out that I could have done myself instead of paying ££400 for about £20 max of food their was no utensils to serve the hot food, this was and embarrassment to my mum and dad my brother had recently complained and the owner made utter lies… poor management and seriously bad food would of rather went to chippy . Wants CLOSING down ! If I could give 0 stars I would !

Had a funeral wake for my sisters passing, paid £600 for the worse buffet I’ve ever witnessed, the amount that was served could of cost £20 at a supermarket, the sandwiches was dry and nothing on them , the so called hot food was a complete joke , mozzarella sticks were like hard branches with hard cheese in, sausage roles tasted old and off, beers was ok though the rest was pathetic

A very unusual golf venue, part of a sports complex including squash, a gym and football pitches, in the centre of a housing estate and surrounded by industry! The course was really interesting and in great condition! We paid £17pp to play in an Open Texas Scramble - ridiculously good value! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend playing there.We ate in the vibrant social club afterwards and the food was excellent, as good as any I’ve ever had at golf venues! Without doubt Worthy of the 5 stars that I’ve given it

Booked for lunch during the Eat out to Help Out Scheme. The food was freshly cooked and service was good. Drinks were brought to the table. The young waiters and waitresses were very attentive, bringing condiments, extra gravy, asking if everything was to our satisfaction. It was fairly busy but we did not have to wait long for our meal. Highly recommended for a mid-week lunch.

Called with my family for a meal after it was reccomended to us. Nice meals cooked all from fresh & not at all microwaved like most also nice & friendly staff & service. Would definitely recommend

Went for lunch, the place was not busy but it took an age to get our meal.Ok the meals are cheap but you get what you pay for. Small portions and over cooked pieWith undercooked fries.We were constantly bothered during our visit with flies. I mentioned it to the staffand were told, “ they are what they are”Will not rush back.We have eaten here before and it was much better than today’s efforts.

We regularly visit the Phoenix for an evening meal which is always amazing but recently have had a family members wakes and both the service and the food was fabulous!

winter golf trip, impressed by the course especially for the time of year, greens in good order, a couple of temps and mats but it was February !! Good well stocked bar and plenty of seating, will be visiting again.

Spent last night at the Phoenix New Year's Eve party. It was well organised, pie & peas were delicious, dj played some great songs which got everyone up dancing. Unfortunately the group were shocking. They sounded flat a lot of the time and just didn't gel musically together. That said, me & hubby had a great time. Will go and try a meal sometime, maybe have pie again.

We went for a meal and it was served very quickly and it was extremely well cooked and presented. The drinks were very cheap including the teas and coffees

One of our regular visits for food and a couple of beers. Food good as always. Freshly prepared home cooking and a great selection of real Ales. Would recommend to everyone 👍

Lovely home cooked food at very reasonable prices, nice decor but have to say a couple of the staff that we encountered weren't the friendliest and could've waited until we finished our food before they started to clear the table. All in all a nice visit and would go back again - just hope we get served by staff who aren't on an off day!

Really nice atmosphere in the newly refurbished bar and eating area food great and reasonably priced recommend you visit this popular place

The renovation to the bar lounge area is phenomenal. We as members have enjoyed fellowship in the lounge for many years. The improved bar lounge area is greatly appreciated and well worth a visit by all. Credit to the organisers for this delightful update.

One of the best places to eat, small menu but all excellent and home cooked, just like your Mum used to make
