One of the most devastating attempts of making a chinese meal give it a miss get it from a supermarket it's better just a complete waste of £32

Absolutely a joke of a Chinese ! Waited 1hr ten mins after being told 40! Then forgot the veg for duck pancakes ….forgot the crispy lamb after ten phone calls and my food being left outside someone else’s door they turn up 40mins later with no pancakes for them …insult to injury stood outside waiting for 15mins for a woman that said she was outside couldn’t find me and sent someone else even though they had just delivered

There are some good reviews about these but I can honestly say I had the worst take away ever. Special Chow Mein, the veg was all mushy, bits of meat chewy, the pork balls were again chewy, batter over cooked and all luke warm, odds on this was a quick re-heat as I collected this and it took them 5 mins to get ready!!! Oh! the prawn crackers were OK. Complained and they said, oh, we will knock 20% off your next order, this is a meal I could not even eat 10% of. What a waste, in the bin it went, would I go back? No Chance.

Stopped here for a takeaway whilst staying locally, quick from ordering to collecting. Really tasty and friendly upon arrival.

We’ve had a few take aways from here and it’s been great every time. Brilliant that you can text or WhatsApp your order too.

We ordered a set meal for 2 on a Saturday evening. The lady who took our order was very pleasant and told us to expect delivery in 1 - 1.15 minutes. The meal was delivered in about 45 minutes. The food was excellent - fresh and hot, great flavours and exactly what we ordered. This is a first class Take-Away.

The Food is excellent plenty of it,the best Chinese i have had loads of meat in the chow mein every part of the meal was excellent. And the staff are very friendly and helpful. I would 100% recommend this Chinese,thank you for a lovely meal 🫶👏👍

First time visiting, definitely worth the trip. The food was lovely, and the staff seemed friendly. We had the egg fried rice, chicken chow mein, sweet and sour chicken balls and prawn toast. No issues, so all good.

Great food and prompt service with free prawn crackers for orders over £20. Offers telephone ordering to save waiting around for your order to be cooked, you can now also order by text/WhatsApp which is handy if the phone lines are busy

I ordered by telephone, part of the order was 10 sweet and sour chicken balls. Once delivered, which was fairly quickly, i emptied the containers and found that there were only 9 chicken balls. I had this problem with a previous order too, so I phoned to let Phoenix house know. I explained the situation and heard some animated discussion in the background, after which the call was dropped. So I phoned back explained the story all again and suggested they look at their quality control before dispatching, no apology but a thank you for letting them know. I know this is not 5 star dining but you would expect to receive what you paid for. This episode has left a bad customer experience for me and a loss of a customer for them.

Love the food at this place. Fab Chinese.

We ordered our chinese meal through WhatsApp before the restaurant was opening at 5.00pm. It was delivered by 5.20pm and was one of the nicest Chinese meals we’ve eaten.

Use to be the best chinnese and I dont want to moan but me and my family have been going to there for years every weekend. there must be new staff there when dave is not around and I used to get prawn crackers when I spent over 15 pound. I asked the lady and she said now I have to pay for them now..... I had synapoure chow mein and it was just plain noodles without meat in it at all. I'm not one to complain and maybe I'm used to having brilliant meals but in my eyes due to being the only Chinese around become very complacent which is a big shame.

Wife ordered Sweet & sour Chicken (Cantonese style) I had THE best salt & pepper spare ribs, son chips & prawn crackers (?) - We're all full - can't recommend the speed, quality of food & friendliness of staff. Top notch

Not the worst I've had, but close to it! Overly salty, crispy beef soggy and bland noodles. Asked to wait outside due to covid restrictions which is understandable. I waited and waited, seeing people go in and out. I'd ordered via phone beforehand, so didn't expect to also wait long after arrival. Another customer came out and asked if I was number 12? He said they'd been calling the number inside for ages! How was I supposed to hear it, when the door was closed and I'd been asked to wait outside??? This is a take-away restaurant only, not sit down inside. Sadly, the food wasn't great and we go elsewhere now.

Not my local Chinese but on the suggestion of a friend who goes there all the time, I gave it a try and found it better than my local. Didn't buy a lot in case it wasn't nice but wished I had as the missus nicked half of it. Seem to get lot more for your money as well.

I actually wanted a Pizza but there was no pizza shop doing deliveries because of the heavy snow. My son suggested Chinese and this place was not only one of the few fast food outlets opened, but it was actually doing deliveries so thought I'll give it a try. The verdict. Food was wonderful, some dishes were a bit too spicy for me but the boys loved these ones. Customer service was excellent. The person who took the order was very polite and explained that delivery will be slower than usual. The delivery guy (could be the same chap that took my order ?) turned up wearing a mask and kept his distance so was very COVID aware.

This was the first time we have ordered from here. We were given an hours wait as it was a Saturday. However our food was almost cold when we put it on the plate. The mushrooms in my chow mien were raw. So let’s just say we wasn’t impressed and won’t be going back for more.

Had the chicken omelette and had to throw away tasted like the chef had drop a whole pot off salt in it , it made me feel sick , disgusting

First time using Phoenix house Chinese and was very impressed with the food and service. We ordered just over £40 of food for two adults and two children plenty to go around and plenty for seconds aswell. Good value for money considering how much we ordered!! Would have given five stars but the bag the food come in was very wet with sauce from our order.

If you’re a veggie ordering be cautious there was MEAT in the noodles!! The food was bland and tasteless

I used to have Chinese from here years ago and was excellent but moved away came down after being away for 17 years to see family and friends and popped in to try again and it was excellent still the same good tasteing food

Popped in on the way home to get a bite to eat and what I got was good stuff. I didn't order a lot but what I got was tasty enough to give this place another try when I'm passing by again. I appreciate the fact that its opened to feed blokes like me when everywhere else is closed. Bloke who served me was a top man.

Came from brighton to visit family desperate for some good food and I am so glad we came across the pheonix house! A really friendly delivery man delivered to us and patiently waited as we ran starving to the door, everything we ordered was delicious with generous portions. It really hit the spot and the vermecalli were the best I have ever eaten! I wish they were my local! :(

Ordered takeaway for a group of us at 5.30pm, still not arrived at 8.35pm. Called multiple times and told they "forgot" and still no sign of the order. Terrible service, promised a call back and nothing, not even out of courtesy, avoid avoid avoid!

This Chinese takeaway has been in Frinton for years now, and never fails to please. We often order from the Phoenix House and the food quality is always good. The staff are always polite, professional and efficient. If you order over a certain amount, they offer free delivery.

On a day trip to Frinton, I fancied a takeaway. I came across Phoenix House and was not disappointed. The food was hot and tasty. Portion size good - value for money. The staff were very helpful and answered my many questions as my daughter is quite fussy on what she eats. Everyone enjoyed the food. Would definitely recommend and if I was in the area again, it will be on my places to visit! Yum

This is one of my favourite places to get a Takeaway when I visit Frinton. It beats all the other Chinese Take outs I’ve had. The food is delicious and the service is very good. Looking forward to my next visit.

Had it when I was in Essex a few months back. Missed it so much I travelled back across the country for another satay. Extremely moreish!

Chinese food, british way. Meals are single so always order rice and extras. Taste was reasonable good.

First of all your opening times are completely incorrect.Instead of showing opening time at 0530 each day its actually 1730. You should correct this. Closing times are correct.Very nice special fried rice and plentiful portion. I also got mushroom omelette which was very tasty but they fill it with chips which was disappointing. Thus small portion of omelette due to chips mixed in.Staff seemed very nice and courteous and 2 mins drive to the lovely Frinton beach so you can enjoy your meal on the seafront.

I heard that this Chinese had improved so I gave it another go , it’s improved loads , the food was delicious . Reasonable prices as well !

There is something very familiar about the local Chinese takeaway and Phoenix House is a good one. The food is always consistent in quality and you get good portion sizes. The menu is of the British style of Chinese takeaway food, so you will find all your favourites and more. All the staff are very nice and are happy to help.

Really good food, have been using for years

Had a house special chowmein and sorry to say it was disgusting. Beef was so fatty and smiley, pork was dry and the bed of chow mein was full of grease. Never eat there again.

Have reviewed this place before with glowing compliments but last nights meal was beyond awful.i hear there has been a passing of the torch(as such) here which has in my opinion ruined the take away.after last nights £30+ meal I feel I need to raise my voice.burnt sweet n sour chicken balls.prawn crackers that were beyond edible. Greasy pancake rolls.bland chow main and the chop suey,well I tasted q onion piece and threw it all in the bin..i wouldn't feed that to a dog...worst meal I've ever ate.will never return to the new style place...never have I had to take s drink to wash the taste outta my mouth after a meal like I did last night.

I get take aways from here but that’s only because it’s the only one in Frinton . Food is hit and miss , sometimes dry and sometimes too greasy . The lemon chicken is always lovely . Staff are quite rude and the owner is usually having a row with the women behind the counter . Prices are okay but the food is overall average .

Have used overof many years and food is always of a high standard and good value for money. No hesitation in recommending. Their home delivery service is the icing on an already tasty cake, arriving both swiftly and hot!.

The best Chinese in the local area. A wide variety of dishes on offer and pleasant staff. Weekend deliveries can take longer which is to be expected but a pick up is only usually 10-20 minutes.

Food here used to be reliably excellent every time - regrettably this is no longer the case. Kenny and Simon are lovely people and welcoming, so you feel guilty not going to them for your take away, but loyalty only goes so far. Have been using venue for about 22 years now, but only maybe 6 times in last 3 years - only once in this period was the food quality reminiscent of the good times. Maybe we have been over harsh in rating, knowing how good it used to be.

One of my favourite Chinese takeaways. I used to live close by and we ordered for pickup and home delivery. Now we live in Wales, but when visiting family, we always make sure to head here! Superb food and very friendly service. If I could take it with me to the Valleys I would! Highly recommended!

Since Jade Chinese closed down this is the only place I go, best chicken chow-mein around. No funny business either, order your food go and collect it and that's that.

Not a bad meal, we had duck chow mein, special chow mein and special fried rice with special curry vegetable spring rolls, BBQ sauce chicken balls, prawn toast and prawn crackers. Duck had quite a bit of fat left on it and prawn toast was not very tasty but otherwise good

Lovely food have used this takeaway for years only problem is the delivery driver..smokes his cigarette then throws it on your drive to pick up on his way back to his car...why he can't leave cigarette in car I don't know..when I went to complain...owners didn't want to know....such a shame as food is good...
