Favorite Chicken & Ribs Clacton-on-Sea in Tendring

Disgusting, we rang and tried to order and someone answered who could not speak English properly, we finally ordered our food after repeating our selves several times, and ask if we could have no drum sticks only breast and side breast only to be told, no it’s not fair on other customers. Really I’m also a customer and I’m requesting what I would like to eat. Also very over priced

It’s changed a lot in the past year or so. The prices have risen to the point that they’re no longer affordable, and the chicken pieces have become smaller. It’s still as delicious as ever, so whereas I used to buy from here twice a week, now it’s become a luxury for special occasions. I don’t blame them for what they’ve done. Times are tough and I would rather they stayed in business. I just look forward to the day when I can come here more often.

This is by far the very best chicken shop that we have ever tried. We drive 15 minutes out of our way, specifically to eat here. We have never had a bad meal from this shop. The food always tastes fresh, the service is always fantastic. Staff always has big smiles and are so friendly. We have eaten in and had take away, it's always perfect. The meals are good value for money considering the quality of the food. I would definitely recommend.

Staff was amazing, friendly, and very helpful. The food tasted superb much better than the favourite I got in London. The food was cooked fresh, and when I'm next back in Clacton-on-Sea, I'll be sure to visit

The grotty Greek, grey haired, moon faced gimp-witha-limp needs to learn some manners real fast. Portions have become tiny & the rib sauce is more ketchup these days. It really used to be a good place but that gimpy Greek has ruined it.

Banging chicken with super friendly staff

Best chicken shop around and lives up to it's name of "Britain's tastiest chicken" ribs to die for.. only gripe is opening hours, especially the weekend. Years ago this place was still open till 3 AM in the morning on Fridays and Saturdays, but obviously times change and the night time scene is not like it was. But to close at 11pm is to early, (Witham branch is open till 1 AM Friday and Saturday and there town is a lot smaller) so much more trade could be had if it was open till at least 12 midnight. The choice of quality diner or buffalo is not good. But to use the COVID excuse which is now 4 years ago is a bit lame... Come on favourite, review those opening hours 👍🏻

Have always eaten here since 2001, it would be better if the shop had more seating, but for the size of it..the 3 stools are enough

We came in to the store and ordered a 10 piece and some bbq ribs. When we reached home and started to eat the food we realised the chicken was black inside and called the store to let them know about the issue. However the store assistant manger did not seem to care about the issue as much or I guess she was busy, anyways the food was not good just like the service.

I ordered quite some time ago and the issue was resolved but the driver didn’t deliver the food to the correct house, I called the store 15mins before they closed as I took into account they may have a few ordered that night. We spoke but the woman on the phone was very hostile and didn’t believe me whatsoever tho I mentioned I have cameras and ring cameras around the home, and to confirm that we had no dog, as apparently a dog was involved somehow. I complimented the store saying how their food never lets me down, it’s amazing and their delivery is speedy so Ik this was abnormal. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT just one thing that annoyed me was instead of solving the issue, the woman left me and hung up, my sister called again to someone else on the phone and told us to wait a week for an update. We never got any updates so we emailed head office, got it resolved. But this isn’t putting me off ordering again! This stores food is amazing and delivery is efficient, just that customer service was really rude, considering I work in hospitality too, I would never be hostile.

A lot better than kfc till staff always really friendly.

Food is really tasty, although the chicken is a little bit salty. I’m therefore happy that they don’t add salt to the fries. Rather, they will give you salt packets to add to your liking. I also appreciate that they give an option to swap out the drink for another side. Meals are also very reasonably priced. Would visit again!

Been going here once a month with my son for awhile now when we meet up for a quick lunch. We have a chicken burger meal and always enjoy what we get. Cooked lovely and nice service too. Not waiting too long either so well recommended.

Food was OK. Was given a piece of chicken that looked like it was pigoen because of the size. Convenient to where I was staying !

Had food from here many times n it's been amazing..but today. I feel yesterday's chicken was today's....so dry I couldn't breathe ...even the kids left a full plate..very disappointing..nasty!!! And you forgot the donuts.....

Have ordered from these for any years and been excellent, however we though try a delivery service after hard weeks work, was a long wait for delivery (even though living less than a minuted drive away),we ordered a boneless bucket, chicken fillet meal and fries, Unfortunately all the chicken was Luke warm, the fries were hard and stone cold, so would not recommend a delivery service for this type of food!

Amendment Extremely disappointed with the service whilst calling up to make them aware of a brown Hair that my wife found in her Double ringer burger, £18 wasted and not going to be back there again whomever I spoke with was rude. Very tasty and fresh.... They are serving halal chicken so that Muslim can enjoy the food. But can't find any Halal labels anywhere. Much far better than any branded chicken centers.

Ordered a family value meal! It was absolutely delicious! Arrived steaming hot! Chicken was cooked to perfection, the chips are alot better that the KFC ONES! BBQ Beans we're spot on and I must admit, I thought I was going to miss the jam doughnuts they used to do with the meals, but the sugar ring doughnuts we're amazing! Left a message when ordering online, asking for atleast a couple of drumsticks and got 3! A very good experience all round, well done FAVOURITE!

Served raw chicken. Manager refused to do anything about it, was very rude and made it out to be my fault when it's them who served raw chicken. AVOID

As long standing customers for many years we feel we have noticed a decline in the quality of the chicken for some time now around at least 6 months maybe a year. looking at the pieces of chicken I feel they are a cheaper version of what they once were and they taste as such and I now seem to know by the shape it will be poor as bizarre as that sounds. We continued to order hoping things would improve. With increasing prices and low quality food I'm afraid I will not order any more. Bbq beans are not what they once were either. Chips fine, such a shame as they were our favourite no pun intended.

Why serve dry cold food to your customers? When it's bin worthy throw it in the bin and cook fresh it's really not that hard!

Gone down hill over the years but overall it's always been a favourite of many people , the chicken is lovely but just lately someone different must be cooking or running the place it's just not as it was ie now the chicken seems slimy and gooey maybe rushed or recipes changed god nos ,, hopefully its ammended soon

I love favourite chicken but I had it yesterday and I have never felt so bad in my life I think when I ate the chicken it gave me a bad stomach and I think it is food poisoning I can safely say we have every week and not an issue

Believe me there is a reason we are doing a phone order! Laughable really. We put the phone down on you because I have never known customer service like it. Won't be ordering from here again. 👍

Lovely best takeaway in clacton

The food here is absolutely fantastic and I would normally give this one a 5 star rating if it wasn't for the last order I had off them which was the spring saver deal the staff short changed me by not putting the correct items in. Correct items were: WHAT I GOT: 6 pieces chicken. 4 CHICKEN PIECES 8 wings 8 WINGS 4 chips 2 CHIPS 2 gravy. 2 GRAVY I know it's not a big difference but after a 12 hour shift and your tired and hungry the last thing you wanna do when you get home is go back out and see if they will sort the order out. So all I will say is when you place an order double check it before you leave.

I don't know how this place is still open, you have to beg for breast chicken or they will say can't give more then one and that's even if u have kids and don't want all bones in the chicken...kfc doesn't turn u away, and there's a simple answer to that then... cook more bloody breast, and when they offer u breast chicken it's half the size of a normal breast yet the cheeky gits wanna charge u the same price...joke I would rate this 0 stars if I could

Fantastic chicken and ribs place can't beat it!!!

Easy to order online to click and collect. The food was ready as promised at 20 minutes. The staff were friendly and made sure everything was included in the order. The food was hot and tasty. We had the boneless family box and one of my daughters had the vegetarian sub. Thank you, we really enjoyed your food.

Was disgusted with the way they spoke to us on the phone forgot to mention buzzer don’t work and didn’t hear them knocking on my son’s window or the main door window to my flat expecting me to hear that so instead of calling us saying they are outside they just went home we rang them up and refused to bring he food or let us re order and was too late to order anywhere else because of this their food is normally good but was disgusted with their attitude will not order again!
