Pho Yum in Birmingham

The Vietnamese food here is fantastic. Great little setup inside a Vietnamese/Asian supermarket. The restaurant is a mezzanine floor upstairs, and you order the food from the kiosk downstairs. It's one of the best places to eat in Birmingham. I come here at least once a week 😎👍👍

We really enjoyed the meal we received via delivery. We ordered the Gói cuõn (Summer rolls) and Bánh cuõn tôm (Steam rolls) to start which were excellent. Very tender and well seasoned. For our main we ordered the Bún thit nuóng chá giò (rice noodles with pork and spring rolls) and the Miên xào tôm (Glass noodles with prawns) which were very good. Incredibly generous portions, well seasoned and lots of salad and pickled vegetables included. We appreciated the bag of extra salad as well as the free chicken wontons! All the food came with free sauces and was overall, packaged well. We will be ordering against

- Cozy little Viet place inside a supermarket, there are seatings upstairs which they share with the Japanese restaurant next door - Food portions are great for the price, very filling with a decent amount of meat - I’m Viet and can confirm the taste is not very authentic, however it’s still passable and I’d visit again for the good value

Food lacked flavour beyond soy sauce. £4 coffee tasted like the instant kind. There was an overwhelming smell of old cleaning cloth in the place.

I tried their dried rice noodles bowl and it tasted very authentic. I would come back here again to try out their other menu items!

The food is always reliably good and the portions are huge. Always freshly cooked and there's lots of gluten free options to choose from. The seating area is the mezzanine above the supermarket, so the atmosphere is very relaxed and enjoyable

Food was very very mediocre. We ordered the chicken ramen and the fried rice. Ramen was underseasoned but still quite decent. Fried rice was a complete let-down.. too dry and not well prepped

Hands down it's the best viet food in Birmingham. Coming to this place every week ever since we found this place. Try Bun dishes or beef pho.

If you go, order the bún thịt nướng, Mỹ Favourite on the menu, highly recommend

Food was so tasty! Chef was very accommodating and friendly. He offered to make a vegetarian broth that wasn’t on the menu and then checked on us to make sure everything was okay. ❤️❤️❤️

Excellent food and service. Really enjoyed it and quantity was great as well! Prices are very reasonable as well. Would definitely recommend it for anyone craving Vietnamese food!

Food was appalling. Tasted like chicken stock with noddles and few pieces of chicken thrown into a pot and served with some chili. Don't undertsand how people left good reviews. Definitely would NOT recommend. Plenty of better options out there. 0/10

Great place if you fancy some Vietnamese tasty street food. Paid £11.50 for this big meal and some still water. Price-quality 10/10

One of the best places for Vietnamese food in Birmingham, UK. Would highly recommend. The seating space is small. But the food is worth it. I always get the ice coffee too. The drink has shrank in size but it's ok.

Fabulous Pho. Absolutely delicious

Small and hidden street food restaurant in an oriental shop, hard to find them. Although the chef is friendly, they have cooked the worst chicken Pho soup I have ever eaten. It is not as tasty (less traditional Vietnamese flavour) as other Vietnamese restaurants' soup. The pieces of chicken meat in the soup were completely uncooked with raw chewy chicken skin - disgusting - they have landed in our rubbish bin. The price of this soup was £10.80. If you compare it to the price (£10.95) of a quality soup at Pho Restaurant (which is nearby) it was quite overpriced. Besides, I had some concerns with the hygiene at Pho Yum as the lady in the kitchen touched all food items - including noodles, chickens, etc. - with her bare hands without any gloves and I could not see her wash her hands. It was a complete waste of money. I do not recommend them at all. There are some other Vietnamese restaurants nearby, you should try one of them instead of Pho Yum.

Insanely good food. Don’t be put off by the fact that it’s inside a supermarket or that the kitchen looks tiny. It’s amazing.

Would give 0 stars if possible. Chicken was black and looked days old. Over a cm of fat on the bun broth. The whole thing smelt off. Could not eat a thing. Was cold and spilled everywhere on delivery too, so spent the time that shouldve been eating, on a cleanup operation to remove any sign or smell of rancid food. Just awful. Update in reply to owner: have uploaded photos - chicken was black, not dark meat type colour, and chewy like it had been left under a hot lamp and smelled awful, not fresh.

Small dining available. We had takeaway service. Amazing food, clean, moreish. Will definitely eat here again. Fast service, properly packaged and piping hot when getting home

I like this place. It is a surprising location, within a Vietnamese supermarket. You eat upstairs on a pleasant mezzanine. The food is ordered downstairs and there is a choice of a Vietnamese kitchen and Japanese kitchen. On my two visits I have opted for Japanese. This is not sushi, the menu is very limited but the food is very good. I had an excellent ramen the first time and a chicken rice the second (plus side dishes). Both came with plenty of lovely Japanese green tea. The service is excellent and very friendly. The staff of the kitchen are very helpful in explaining the meals. It is not cheap food but it isn't expensive either and so nice that it is good value for money. (There were 4 of us which accounts for the £50 expenditure)

the soup is so good. meat so tender too. iced coffee is a bit sweet for my liking but it is how it should be. they tends to be very sweet.

Great food, a supermarket at the bottom and a restaurant on top, amazing Ramen but only had Chicken ramens available, great Gyozas too and very friendly staff! Will definitely be going again soon

It's a platform built inside the Asian store, not a restaurant setting. Cash only and seems managed by Chinese. Average quality. Not seem like authentic Viet style

The number 20, the pork was amazing, the service was fast, they made fake ilusiones with a dish that weren't for us, at least my partner tried one slice of pork of that dish. I would not repeat because there are a lot of different places to try.

Absolute street food vibe. No frills, delicious food that is quite affordable and friendly staff. The wings were crispy on the outside but perfectly moist inside. Really nice. The pho was very filling and anyone would struggle to finish a bowl. Good flavours throughout.

The most authentic Vietnamese food you could find in the city centre. You could tell the food was made with love, it was an amazing experience!

Came across Pho Yum when shopping. Tried their chicken noodle soup which was absolutely delicious and freshly made. The Vietnamese iced tea is really refreshing. If you are looking for Vietnamese food that is authentic and freshly cooked you have to try Pho Yum.

Delicious authentic Vietnamese food and great service.

A fast-food style restaurant but the beef Pho was lovely! I've not come across another Vietnamese restaurant that is as nice as Pho in Grand Central but I can say that Pho Yum is on par with the Pho in GC. Quick, efficient service and the gentleman that served us was very kind too!
