Pho Cue in Manchester

As a south-east asian, and Pho being one of my fave noodle dish, i was expecting a lot. the PHO fall short of how it should taste. 😕 it definitely tasted like Beef broth, yes but not as PHO.. on the other hand, the coffee tasted like real vietnamese coffee which is good & the spring roll was okay. Just dissapppointed with how the PHO turns out. My first time trying this resto and i dont think i will go for the Pho nextime. The Coffee is good tho. I might comw back for the coffee!

We had the prawn summer rolls for starters along with the soft shell crab and ribs all of which were really nice, portions are small for the crab considering it's price but it was tasty so can't complain much. The traditional pho ga and pho bo weren't great especially compared to some others I've had but the portion size was okay not much meat though and majorityof the meat was fatty, found a bone in the pho ga which can happen but isn't ideal. Overall I think it's slightly overhyped but at least it's cheap (ish)

The food is great for the price. The Bun dish my partner had was wonderfully flavoured, warming, and filling. Honestly, it made me want to try and make the dish myself. The papaya salad I had was lighter, but refreshing. However, I would say that if you're in a rush to eat then you might be better off finding somewhere else as the customer in/out rate is quite slow.

lovely staff and restaurant vibe. the pho is delicious here as well as a lot of noodle dishes. the salt and pepper starter range and vietnamese summer rolls are lovely too. quite a hidden gem and would reccomend.

I ordered seafood pho, the serve size was ok but the broth lacked depth, and the fried flat fish cakes didn't taste fishy. It was Friday around 6 pm. Whoever was cleaning the tables was heavy-handed with a perfumed spray that wafted over to my table, I'd helpfully suggest a non-perfumed wipe down when diners are eating thank you

The worst pho I’ve ever had in my life. The broth is bland, the vermicelli is not right and even the beef is bland and chewy. Can’t believe how can it got all that positive comments. Maybe the roasted meat but definitely not the pho. FYI:I am an Asian and had been to Vietnam for many times.

Had a lovely lunch here today, very reasonably priced and 10/10 food. The pork spring rolls and sweet and spicy prawns were delicious. The staff were welcoming and attentive. Will definitely be back.

The food is good but the service is very bad. Coming in a Thursday evening and not many people there. Standing in the entrance for quite long and the servants see me but doing nothing, chatting with each other. Vey bad experience.

Absolutely GOATed restaurant. Staff is so nice and reliable. Food was obviously good because of it wasn’t I wouldn’t have rated it so highly. Only criticism is that they don’t give you sweeties with the bill :( and the line can get very long. Apart from that it is a perfect restaurant and maybe best in the north west the only other restaurants that come close is pho you and mekong cat

Queues outside for a table shows how popular this place is. It served the most authentic and good quality Vietnamese food when we visited at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend.

Was asked to move out of the queue 30m prior to closing when I'd already made a booking - poor customer service.

I found the main food food to be too sweet. The fried salt and pepper calamari was very good though.

It’s very delicious. The chicken is halal. The soup isn’t. Just make sure to ask the staff what’s halal and what isn’t.

Fantastic food here. Staff are friendly and will help you with your choices, just ask. There's no disabled access, and it's down some steep steps so just be aware (easy to carry a pram down). It was busy and a big queue as we left - don't let this put you off, it's worth the wait.

Wow!!! Went here based on google reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Dined in and the staff were lovely and the food delicious, reasonably priced as well.

No booking, just turned up, joined a queue and waited for a table. 20mins later we were sat ordering, helped by lovely, bubbly lady who talked us through our choices and made recommendations. Soft shell crab, papaya salad, summer rolls and beef Bun. All delicious and great value in the heart of Manchester. Crisp, cold Saigon bottled beer was the icing on the cake… 10/10

Pho was good and enough for myself and my child. The marinated beef left a little to be desired. The glazed ribs were really good. Service was quick and we enjoyed our dinner.

Noisy place, busy and packed but nice decor. Staff was okay but too busy to properly tend to our table and I was the only one not having Pho so I didn't get given a placemat. Decent portions that were filling. The tofu&avocado rolls were okay, not much to them. Salt and pepper tofu was decent as was the vegan tofu Catsu curry. I did ask to have spring onions/onions removed but unfortunately I found a piece of spring onion in my vegan tofu catsu curry. The waitress who took our payments did not ask if we wanted the receipt, she just assumed we didn't want them. All in all, okay for a first try but wouldn't visit again.

No booking needed and got seated within 10 mins. We ordered and got starters with in 10 minutes , they were absolutely delicious and the mains were really nice, probably the best katsu curry I’ve had. Would come back definitely

Cannot recommend this place enough. The food is absolutely incredible - authentic Vietnamese with delicious flavours. Some dishes are HALAL so please ask about these. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The queue is always long so I'd recommend booking before going! The papaya salad and beef ribs are my number one dishes - Also recommended grabbing a Vietnamese iced coffee on the way out, the popcorn flavor is delicious.

the food is good nothing special compared to vietnamese restaurants in ancoats manchester that is more of a homecooks taste and feel. service is good but i wasnt expecting an automatic service charge on my bill. but all in all it ok

i’ve been in the UK for 2 weeks now and out of everything i’ve eaten, this place had to be the best place i have eaten at. The food was amazing and the service was so accommodating. 10/10 food & service would definitely recommend!

We were excited to try PhoCue on our first day in Manchester based on good reviews. We arrived 15 minutes early and totally okay to wait outside, together with a few more customers. It was a quite windy and breeze day. A female staff came out with no greeting, no welcome, no smile, technically none interaction—she just removed the closing sign and said “ya” when a customer asked if we could come in. Despite being second in line, she sat us at a tiny table under the stairs, gave us the menu, and walked away without saying a word. The lack of customer service was appalling and made the experience uncomfortable, especially considering the positive reviews we had read. This is by far the most disappointing service we’ve had in the UK. No matter how well-known a restaurant is, respect and good service are key to a positive experience. Unfortunately, we felt neither respect nor care from the staff, and we decided to leave immediately. We will not be returning.

Overall, it's good. It's better to go earlier to avoid queue. The food is very nice, my fav was the soft shell crab. Pho noddles are soft and the broth is flavourful. Rice and crispy pork belly is fine so it is good to give it a go.

One of our favourite places to eat in Manchester. Service and food is consistently great and incredibly tasty. Only downside is there’s often a wait for a table, which is testament to its well deserved popularity. Can skip the queue by ordering takeout.

I'd been wanting to try here for ages, but sadly, the food didn't live up to the hype for me. The summer rolls were nice, but the vegan pho was a bit bland.

Restaurant looked nice but the smell is absolutely awful. If you will step into the restaurant, the first smell which will hit you is not a beautiful smell of pho but urine. Guys, maybe try to close the door to toilets or do something about that smell? It was so unpleasant smell which fully destroyed my mood when I was waiting and eating. Pho was very generic. The soup base was described as a 24 hours base done on bones but it tasted much more like just water with a bit added fat. I can fully understand that it can be authentic but for me it was one of the weakest soup base which I ever ate and it was disappointing. In general, the whole pho was very forgettable and I will not think about it if I will be hungry nearby. From the other side: staff was very friendly and helpful and can't complaing about it!

One of the best Vietnamese foods we have tried in the UK. Definitely worth a shot. Its quite busy in the rush hour. We had to wait for 10-15 minutes to get a table. If you dont like waiting in the que, you can reserve a table before hand. One thing I suggest you must try is: Hanoi Beer. It is a Vietnamese Beer. First time for me. Loved it.

I phoned up to make a reservation and when I asked them to confirm the name of the establishment they replied with a profanity!!

Traditional Pho performed worse than expected. The soup doesn't have the strong flavor of beef bones. The meat has a beefy flavor But the clerk is friendly

Wow wow wow what amazing authentic Vietnamese food took me back to our visit to the lovely country a few years ago. I am coeliac and thought I had died and gone to heaven I had soft shell crab, spring rolls crispy chicken and lotus crisps and phoe soup. All amazing flavours and beautiful xxx

Enjoyed the pork ribs, the server was lovely however was let down by the quality of pho and spring rolls. The spring rolled tasted stale. We ordered the special pho and the soup was extremely bland and very small amount, it was not even covering the noodles/meat. The taste of the meat was very poor as though it had been cooked a long time ago and reheated.

Overcrowded and long time to wait, be ready for this, I wasn’t. Food is spectacular and fair portions.

In the UK for the first time ever!! Touched down to Manchester by train to meet some shiny welcoming friends of friends. First off, only to eat somewhere because of hunger from a long day of traveling. Though everything they suggested was unfortunately closing or almost out of food. No worries though, i followed my nose and seen a “pho” sign and it was truly a success. Food was great and the spice was nice!!

🤌🤌🤌 thoroughly enjoyed the food ❤️ we came here two days back to back. Absolutely great! We ordered both udon and pho noodles with chicken and prawns respectively. And for starters we got chicken and baby crabs 🤌 spice level, taste, everything was perfect.

We had to queue for 30 min but it worth it. Very nice! Loved the steamed rice rolls. Also the salt and pepper soft shell crab was really good.

Pho cue serves Vietnamese cuisine in the bylanes of Manchester Chinatown. We tried the Vietnamese cold coffee which was average. Vietnamese summer rolls were okayish but enjoyed their Banh Mi.

Today it was my first time going to Pho Cue.The food it was alright, but customer service it was so bad. one of the staff she was really rude. I’m not going there again.

10/10 Delicious food, nice service and good value for money Might have to wait in a queue for 15 / 20 minutes to get in but it is worth the wait.

I’ve been here a few times now and every time I go to Manchester, this is a must visit. I’d highly recommend the salt and chilli chips here, they are completely different to anything you’ve had before. The food is consistently fresh and tastes out of this world. A special shout out to Sarah who made the experience even better with her banter! Considering how popular it is, and the quality of the food, it’s also reasonably priced. We had a table full of small plates Including soft shell crab, king prawns etc, and veggie starter and bun bowl and our bill was only £18 each per head including drinks.

A very yummy Vietnamese restaurant that is always busy so make sure you book a table! I recomment the lobster salt and pepper fried noodles that is only available on Sunday!

My first time visiting here today, really enjoyed it. The food was lovely and at a very reasonable price! Staff were great too, well worth a visit. We arrived shortly after opening & there was a queue when we left, so I would advise getting there early 😀

Mind blowingly good. worth the wait

Its a good Vietnamese restaurant, we tried their egg fried rice and chicken katsu with rice.. the chicken katsu curry was spicy. If someone likes spicy food its recommended for them. Taste wise, it is 7/10 , the egg fried rice 7.5/10 .. It was quite crowded and full house. People were standing in a queue to get a seat .. so service was quite hectic for them as they had a lot to cater to but their service was really good. Food portion was generous, easily can be shared between 2 people. Chicken was halal.

Great little place with cheap great food, we shared a duck pho for lunch between 2 people and it was just right, also we had a starter. only about £20 in total. Would definitely recommend.

My 3rd time here and I have to say this is the best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve ever eaten at!! The smells are amazing 🤩 if you haven’t tried it yet it is a must!!

Best Vietnamese I’ve had in ages! We had the Dad’s special lemongrass pork skewers, the papaya and mango salad (with beef) and the katsu curry, superb! Only here a few days but we’ll definitely try to come back one more time :p

Fantastic Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of Manchester's Chinatown. Staff is very friendly, and the food is amazing, some of the best Vietnamese dishes I had in a while. The Papaya salad with beef is an absolute highlight.

Had to queue outside but was quickly seated. The Vietnamese beef papaya salad was delicious and tangy, with fresh marinated beef, so flavourful. The chicken pho on the other hand was a little bit of a let down, with a lack of seasoning? The broth was quite plain and lacklustre in any flavour. Overall, food was served fairly quickly and service was good, reasonable prices too Thanks!

My last visit to Manchesters chinatown was a bit disappointing, but on my second visit with my daughter we hit the jackpot, pho cue is outstanding, my daughter had sharing bites sweet & spicy chicken and I had soft shell crab, and we both decided on the Bahn mi Beef sandwich with two ice teas , all out standing, the soft shell crab was the best dish I have had in a long time, and delightful staff , see you soon mick and Tess from Birmingham.

Nice food at reasonable prices. My boyfriend got the lemongrass lamb with rice and I had a Vietnamese salad with chicken. We shared salt and pepper chips and shared crab. The only thing I’d say is they were not chips, they were fat wedges which was disappointing.

Firstly we went to 5pm dinner and the service was amazing The prawn tacos was out of this world - a great Vietnamese fusion with Mexican food would highly recommend getting. Sweet and spicy pork's ribs 10/10 nothing much to say on that Overall the service was amazing. Didn't have to wait long for food and ended up talking to the staff and found it's a family run business who care about quality of food. Best food and would highly recommend

If you are from Asia or often try Asian cuisine, you will be able to tell the difference between the original soup and the soup prepared with MSG (monosodium glutamate). The pho from this restaurant is definitely the latter, because after tasting the soup, your tongue will feel numb and you will feel thirsty and crave for water. And the roasted duck part is also cut from various scraps (duck butt) and overcooked. Therefore not recommended.

We visited on our last day in manchester and wished I'd visited sooner so i can squeeze another visit before leaving! Staff were attentive, food was fantastic, even though it was busy the food arrived quickly. My only regret is making only 1 visit to this place on my trip. Arrived with partner and 2x kids (6yo). Seated quickly. Had 2x rare beef pho, beef papaya salad, pork steamed rice rolls, butter chick wings, spring rolls. Was maybe a bit too much food but we didn't regret ordering the amount we did because everything absolutely delicious. Even one of my kids who is quite a poor eater was slurping the pho and asking for more. Broth was good! So many more dishes that looked good on the menu so if we are ever down manchester again we will def be visiting. We also ordered lime sodas which we enjoyed. Oh 1 more regret! I forgot to take pics 😔🤪

Quality Vietnamese restaurant, very good service and very good food, Good value for money in the Chinatown area. Of the three restaurants we have tried in the area, it is the one we liked the most.

Very nice and filling food. Get in early as it soon fills up. The menu is a bit confusing but the staff do explain it well. The steak & eggs was very nice but I think the chicken fried rice just edged it!

Back home the Pho is excellent. We found this place on our last visit and loved it so much we hunted it down on this visit too.

Had a better experience first time round but this time the food was SO oily re-fried wasn’t fresh at all… sad because we ordered a lot. We had a young kid clear our table who needs customer service training. Not sure I’ll be back tbh

Nicest Vietnamese place in Manchester, with fresh and incredibly flavoursome authentic dishes. Ordered the chicken Pho and Udon noodles and was taken back by how good it was 👌 I’d definitely recommend this for a quick meal for either lunch or later in the evening. Portion sizes are also massive. It’s also spacious and has a nice vibe to visit with friends.

I have been to Pho cue twice now, traveled all the way from Sheffield and Leeds to eat here! The food was definitely great! Specially the spicy bun bo hue, flavour of the broth was great and well seasoned, huge portions! Great turnaround! Pho was definitely under seasoned not sure if this was authentic! I agree with some comments else summer rolls are definitely on the smaller side and meat on the starter can be juicier! The service we received both times here needs major improvements! First time I was here with my partner and the lady who served us just threw the table placements to the table, no smile on any of the staff and seemed to be annoyed they have customers! Assumed the service was not great the first time because they were busy! Second time we were here for my partner’s birthday with 3 other people and the restaurant was quiet. The service was the same and 3 other guests thought the same. We ended up being there after 4 with some other customers but all the servers and the staff just stopped the service ant 4 and started having their dinner on a separate table. Which was absolutely fine but we were just sat there for a while not sure of what to do. May be offer the customers to pay the bill. So they can leave after without having to wait for the restaurant staff to finish their dinner! But we will not be visiting again to be treated this way again! Great food but shame about the service! The food : I've tried few Vietnamese restaurants so far, so, can't say I don't know much about it. Not saying an expert either. But know enough to understand the food is subpar! Service... Looks like two sons and a daughter were the waiting staff, lacked basic service industry essentials. Customer service was non existent and cannot rationalise the why either! Atmosphere: nice neon sign! It's a good thing there are places you can eat elsewhere that serves better and treats people! I guess this is "tạm biệt" Do better!

The beef brisket soup tastes salty and not hot enough.

Turned up to a small queue on a Wednesday evening, which is always a good sign. The staff were friendly and attentive but not overbearing. Great options for gluten free people and felt confident the waiters understood the allergens in their food. The food was excellent, and very fairly priced. I can see why this place gets so busy.

Gorgeous food. Easy to book a table by phone, lots of naturally gluten free options on the menu. Spicy Vietnamese Pork & Beef Pho had incredible flavours and was a huge bowlful. Friendly staff, really reasonable prices, great atmosphere and decor. My new favorite place, will be back soon!

Having read the good reviews, we decided to eat here. We didn’t book a table, as we weren’t sure what time we were going to be arriving in Manchester, and so we joined the walk-ins line and waited for a little under an hour. That was be ok if the food was good, but unfortunately, it was just “ok”. The spring rolls were tasty and the pho was ok, but I’ve had tastier. The food was delivered quickly, the service was a bit surly (possibly because by the time that we were seated, we were among the last tables that they were seating in the evening. So overall, a bit disappointing really, and especially given the hype.

Ever since stumbling on their TikTok acc in December I’ve been dying to try this place. I went in late afternoon-ish and I was seated at a shared table which I expected because I was dining alone (only 2/4 were occupied when I arrived until they left and then one more person was seated at the same time as me) for starters I ordered salt & pepper squid with a gin and elderflower tonic. For mains I had marinated beef Pho with a bottle of Sauvignon blanc. Both dishes were really nice and I enjoyed each bite, the pho portion is super generous so I didn’t end up finishing it all much to my disappointment cause the broth/soup was 10/10. Overall it was a really good experience and this will definitely be my new Pho spot, service was good and everyone was really nice and polite I was served by Jay and a really nice young lady (forgot to ask for her name, I was slightly wine tipsy). From what I learnt online it’s a family run restaurant so I’ll definitely be coming back every month to try different dishes. Only suggestion would be to serve the siracha mayo on the side for the salt and pepper squid
