Very Rude Behavior Don’t know how to talk with customers the guy on the till who is serving total uneducated and talk badly with customers we visit yesterday but total waste of money and food totally cold and even they don’t want to give us napkins the owner of this shop should change the staff specially who is serving on till the tall guy

I don’t understand why you called it Petra when it has absolutely nth to do with Jordanian cuisine! And even if you like the name only not the cousin then don’t use the actual image of Petra! I guess all Jordanians will agree with me! It’s really annoying when I saw the menu I was really disappointed and felt misled by the name and logo! My suggestion either change the logo or simply add Jordanian dishes or get Jordanian chefs or chefs who lived in Jordan I don’t think it’s hard!

Chicken shawarma was not cooked well , pizza and all the chicken related stuff was smelling bad . The reception guy was crying for sauce . Not a good place to visit and waste of money .

Just now I had my dinner from your restaurant with my family. Unfortunately i had very very very poor customer service experience. There was a guy, white and tall. He behaved so badly with us. Didn't served any sauce with falafel, when we asked for sauce, he made his face and was so rude. And i cut the swarma from the middle, so it was eat in. And all of them he holds together and tried to gave to me. He doesn't have that manner, he should serve in a plate and again he was rude when we asked for a plate. And so many bad behaviour he had done with us. He should learn some manner. I would never visit your restaurant again.

Amazing chicken shawarma and pizza

Honestly speaking this is a late night after party place. I don't want to be critical but I must be. I had the chicken shawarma, and it was mediocre at best. I come from a completely different culture and I can make a substantially better shawarma at home. Service was fair. Overall a place to get food, but not quality food. Upon reflection it was probably one of the worst kebabs I've ever had (kebab is maybe my favourite food)

They can improve a lot, we ordered a large Donner Kebab and it was more bread and vegetables than meat. The meat didn't have a bad taste but they can add more meat and/or vegetables for the price. The service was fast and friendly.

A wonderful place with beautiful service and one of the most beautiful restaurants in Scotland, Edinburgh. I advise everyone to visit it

We visited this restaurant last night, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The falafel was decent, but the chicken döner/shawarma was truly bad. I specifically requested a pizza with extra cheese, and despite charging extra for it, the pizza had almost no cheese at all. When I complained, they just threw a handful of cheese on top after the pizza had already been cooked. Can you imagine that? Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place based on my experience.

Honest review worst place ive ever eaten at. Very unhygenic place ,For starters he made the shawarma with his bare hands..Gross. I fear he cared about his hair more like he was in a pageant show .The food lacked a lot of sauce and chicken. He was staring at us eat as if he wanted it. Very expensive unnecessarily. I asked for hummus dip, This man made a shawarma wrap out of the hummus.No joke I had to throw it away. What a waste of time money and efforts. Shut this resteraunt down for the greater good. Avoid it while you can

The food is was kinda okay, but the people who works there are really really rude, I paid more than 10 pounds for a pizza and that’s okay but they asked me to leave after 5 minutes from my seat. It is the first time that something like tent happened to me…DO NOT GO

Genuinely the worst kebab I’ve ever ate. How can a kebab, even with sauce, taste of absolutely nothing, no flavour at all. Terrible, do not waste your money.. The guy is very moody too. They take advantage of the location and drunk people give them business regardless so they just don’t care that the food is bad and put no effort into making it taste good.

I had the chicken shawarma with hummus. Absolutely divine! Haven’t had a better wrap in my life! Came back a few hours later with friends so they could try it. Will for sure be back everytime I’m in Edinburgh.

Definitely one of the worst Pizza I had in my life! Their food is over-priced and terrible. Avoid this tourist trap. The price is really expensive for what you get.

Food quality was average. Ordered chicken shawarma which barely had any chicken or sauces. Only filled with veggies. I had better shawarma elsewhere in the city later. Does not justify the prices. I guess because it is located in the main tourist hub of royal mile.

Came in and there was a whole section of the restaurant closed off. About ten tables were blocked and we were limited to three tables total. The bigger space was closed off just to make the space seem empty. The server was uncommunicative and rude, and the service itself was poor. At some point a family left, and the server asked another customer to clear their table for him! We were not given plates. Our food was far too hot. Our seats had bits of food on them. We asked for anchovies on pizza, they were out of anchovies. We asked for 7UP, they only had the warm ones from the display. The staff was absolutely not customer-oriented. The only good thing was that the food was not terrible—the pizza was good, the shawarma and falafel were not. I would not recommend dine-in. Maybe ordering to-go or online delivery would be a better option.

The guy was rude as hell and $20 nzd for a falafel wrap is too expensive.

Best best best falafel. I enjoyed my meal here more than the best of restaurants in the city, the fancy ones in fact. Sam was so sweet and hospitable. He ensured we enjoyed our food, realising we were Indians, he gave his house special green chili sauce on the side, which doubled the flavor. Everyone should definitely visit this place in Edinburgh. Make sure you have atleast one meal here.

Hands down the worst 'shawarma' I've ever had. They only have chicken or doner meat and it isn't even served with a naan. It is in a panini pressed white wrap, with 'sandwiches' being served exactly the same way. Literally couldn't tell the difference on the plates. When questioned and advised we ordered a sandwich, we were advised the sandwiches come in a wrap??? Don't waste your money or time. No one enjoyed their meal at our table.

Staff are ok but its unfortunate there seems to be a language barrier. Drinks were ordered and didn't arrive (had to be taken off the bill). We then had to ask for cutlery when the food arrived, and I ask to ask again for chips. £30 for 2 kebabs!! Food was underwhelming and overpriced. (Ordered another chippy when I got home.) Tourist trap prices given it's just off the Mile. Saw a mother and child walk out as their requirements weren't Met with the waitress. I think a mix of language barrier and confidence which led to thar customer being frustrated as they wanted a quick turnaround with simple service. Don't think i'd be back

Had a shawerma pizza with my son and he literally couldnt eat it at all and the meat was so bad it was like eating old and uncooked chicken and the service was so bad.We asked to pay to the woman who worked there but she was saying something on turkish, the toilets are literally broken, when i just sat on it .Never gonna go there again, my son is very dissapointed with this place.Also checked some reviews and this turned me into complete shock - i wish i would checked them even before going there...

Unfriendly. Unwelcoming. No attempt at service or civility. And so overpriced. Had meat and salad take out and they basically made up the price. No dressing. Lukewarm meat. Diabolical. The customers in front of me, who walked out when spoken to rudely with by the surly staff, had a lucky escape. Avoid.

Very reasonably priced, and you get what you pay for. I had the hummus and falafel wrap - well heated Lebanese flat bread and fresh salad. Ok falafel with a very thin spreading of hummus, and chip shop garlic and chilli sauce.

I am such a foodie but I really don't know what happened here. I have never had to write a bad review in my life, yet I feel strongly I need to warn people of this place. Firstly, it is pricey food. I don't mind paying a higher price if it it's going to be mega yum and totally satisfying. We waited over 35 minutes for a meal. I actually don't mind waiting, however, when the food came out it was awful. It just tasted awful. I don't know what they had done to prepare the food. It was bad, looked awful, tasted horrible and was dry! It saddens me that ppl have lost their passion and drive to provide great food, food they should be proud of. I love all different types of food from across the world but this.... I cannot say a good word. Probably the worst meal I've ever had.

The service staff are friendly and kind, Ordered the beef and chicken shawarma wraps, The crust has an excellent texture and is still delicious even if it is wet with sauce. Worthy of high praise 👍 The only drawback is that the waiting time is too long🤨

I had ordered a Marguerite pizza and chicken mixed kebabs What I got was disgusting, tasteless pizza, disgusting disgusting, kebab, absolutely rubbish. I shall never ever use this place again.the mixed kebab was in wrap with no meat only mixed cabbage and lettuce with no flavour at all same with pizzz thin and like rubber Totally rubbish

Choose to eat here for convenience and familiar with Mediterranean & Middle Eastern food but was a bad choice and experience. Chicken Shawarma was bland and side sauces processed junk. As for the falafel, it should be renamed Flintstone Falafel as they were hard as rocks. Don’t eat here, if you’re looking for a quick bite better off at other nearby places.

A waitress didn't know what halal means, and the cook failed to convince me that he has any idea what halal stands for. Obviously, it is NOT halal restaurant. Avoid.

Rude Staff I haven't seen a wrap with too much oil just check the pictures,

Firstly, food was extremely overpriced. We paid about 9 pounds for a shawarma that wasn’t apetizing at all, infact it didnt resemble anything like the shawarmas I have back home; I’m on vacations and I live in the gulf. Secondly, the service was straight bad. The waitress wasn’t communicating properly and had a hard time understanding. Thirdly, the atmosphere wasn’t exactly my cup of tea. The chairs were uncomfortable and the tables were in a tight space and small. Overall, I wouldnt recommend this restaurant at all and I think, for the same prices you could most likely have food at an “expensive” restaurant, or a fine dine as they say.

We came here for lunch and a quick bite between our tours. The service was ok for a fast food restaurant, but the ONLY person we met wasn’t that communicative, probably didn’t know much English. Food was barely ok, may be less than ok, the Donner and chicken didn’t taste that fresh!! The toilets were not that clean and not suitable for a restaurant. Music selection was peculiar, and apparently the people who were working didn’t understand half of the songs. I’m not convinced to give more than 2 stars here, hopefully they can improve before I visit them again.

Ordererd shwarma. No pickles! Bland chicken that had no shwarma spice. The wrap was thick flat bread. Wouldn't go back.

Shockingly rude staff. Your man is grand at making kebabs. But within minutes of paying him he said everyone had to leave the “restaurant”. We asked for 2 minutes to get our bits together and he announced “no one is getting served until these lads leave”. Way to treat paying customers.

Got food poisoning in this place. Staff will cut corners in terms of food safety. They go over their license and sell food after 3 am (cash only)... Dodgy business. Should be investigated.

I went to eat doner wrap and I was disappointed. It was the most tasteless meat I've ever eaten in Europe. It wasn't what it looked like in the photos. It didn't have any greens in it. It wasn't like the doner kebabs with sauce in Europe.

Below normal quality of food. For Falafel, we were so disappointed because there were no Tahina or pickles served ( which is so important for Falafel). Fetta salad was below normal

This place should be named RUDE Guys Shawarma. Worst Shawarma I ever have from this place. It was bad taste and very spicy, even though he was asked not to make spicy. Really, really rude guys from the Middle East. Seems they are not happy at all in this business. I wanted to sit on the dining area to wait while shawarma was being made. The guy closed the door and asked not sit there." Do not recommend that disappointing place.

I gave 5 star because of service. I ordered shish but then realized I didn't want it. They had it on the grill already but still the guy at the counter was kind enough to swap it for me with chicken. I appreciate such gestures in any place.

Pizza was nice, although small in size. The mixed kebab was tasteless. Dissapointed. The waiter even said it will be so good 😂. Also really not sure why he didn't let us eat in by the window. For some reason that portion is closed off to customers.

The kebab was really sparse and tasted terrible, the staff were very unfriendly and the price was high. Move on, it's not worth the cost!

Avoid. Their bathroom has been "out of service" for more then 12 months. Really?!

Very dirty straight away to the bin tastes terrible. Man with aggressive personality, speaking with people as he's smarter than them or he's giving them food for free .he displays food and when you order, he serve u food from last night or the previous night.

Avoid if possible. Only positive is that they are open till late when all the bar kitchens are closed. Terrible/rude attitude of the staff. Felt like we were unwelcome customers. Food wasn't great either. One of us got a burnt khubz.

Ordered a donner kebab. Hardly any meat, veg or sauce. It was like a flattened wrap. Go elsewhere it's not worth the money.

Super slow service, food is not that great and the restaurant ran out of paper napkins, luckily my wife has a stock of paper napkins in her purse. I would not recommend this place. Indian customers won’t find hot spicy sauces here. They had tomatoes ketchup for red sauce and instead of Tahini sauce, they gave ranch dressing. Don’t go!!!!!’

I had kabab based on the recommendations I read but it was dry and tasteless most probably frozen old pieces. Very disappointed

Delicious shawarma, really fresh and well made. We had a wait for my husband's kebab because it had to be grilled which was totally worth it. The bread was hot and the perfect texture. Staff were lovely. Women's toilet out of order but the men's (single cubicles) is clean. We paid £29 so really good value too.

Great food but very rude server

Got a falafel wrap, it was quite dry, not to bad but the guy used his hands a lot, touching the salads, smashing the falafel with his hands, could have used a fork or utensil.

To be honest, it was the first restaurant I tried in Edinburgh about a year ago. I tried pizza and falafel and they were wonderful. Even the staff there were respectful. حبيت 👍

Very good kebabs, shawarma... available close to royal mile.. Very friendly staff and quick packing for takeaway. Ate at restaurant once.. and took takeaway several times.

They are serving good dishes good food , they need too improve the hygiene a bit as the guy goes out to smoke and came back to prepare food without washing his hands

The falafels are really good. While most of the seating area is closed, there were 4 tables available, so I was still able to eat inside.

We ordered 2 chicken kebabs and a meat feast pizza.. pizza was O.K... kebabs were the worst in Scotland... They were VERY hard and not chicken kebab meat at all. They were lumps of chicken and not strips. I would avoid unless you are badly stuck 🫢😋

The food was delicious and satisfying, quick service too.

Great place for a healthy and filling meal. Honest and polite staff and good atmosphere with lovely music😋. The best part of all one of the very few places open till 5am with quality food no matter the time.

What kind of chippy doesn’t do chips? Staff here are rude as well. There are much better places to frequent in Edinburgh.

I had the chicken shawarma. Found it kind of lacking. No real flavour or taste to speak of other than the sickly sweet donair sauce.

Absolute rubbish. Worst kebab I’ve had in years. No seasoning, no spice, no chili, couldn’t even taste the sauce.
