I love it with my husband for many years but recently some smaller portions plus we waited last time for delivery for 2 hours and only Uber helped me cancel because they did not answer the phone 🥹

Ordered fish supper at 18.19 was told it would be delivered at 19.00, food came at 19.20 which fine I know it's a busy chippy however only the fish was delivered no chips, called them up the guy on the phone asked if I wanted the chips delivered and it would take 40 minutes as they are busy I said yes that would be great, it's now 20.55 and my chips have just turned up. The fish was ok the was batter burnt, fish abit dry but my dog loved what I gave her! Second delivery driver was lovely

Impressed the way they deal with me, when i placed wrong order, they replaced my order and not get back the old order as well. The fish and chips of javit’s is best in Edinburgh. I highly recommend this to everyone who love fish. Exceptional service. Thanks alot. I would gave 100/100 if there any chance.

I got a calzone abs it was really bad it it put me off my food

Ordering was easy, delivery prompt. Ordered two small fish suppers. The portions were great but sadly the fish was way over cooked, dry fish & hard batter.

Was recommended...ordered a supper white pudding but was not battered and was very greasy..Will no order supper again. Was time consuming as had to call them back 1 hour later as was stated 40 mins for delivery.. mmm

Bad service had to wait for my delivery had to wait 2 hour aldo I live not that far away and when it come it was cold..

Since we come to Scotland, my kid's fav restaurant. Sometimes mine too :) Cheese and Tomato pizza and Chicken burgers and fries are our favs. Staffs are so friendly. No complaints on food / service for 3 years now.

Staggering that this shop can knock out the best of Quality Haddock proper prime fillet & definitely got better supplies than the so called competition which is dire & I should know spend a fortune but yep this is now my place to stay everything I have had down to the chips are cooked in clean oil & even the special fish is soft flaky which is hard to do with deep fry breadcrumbs.Anyhoo way better than any of the takeaway in Whester hailes Sighthill don't do reviews normally but Javits deserves to be acknowledged great food & great staff over the phone & delivery drivers cheers.👌

So I was very disappointed we ordered one pizza we paid 26 pounds neither did we get a refund nor did the pizza come to us

Food arrived reasonably quickly. It was hot, fresh and up to a very high standard. Very enjoyable. Javits strive to maintain high standards.

Food ok but prices compare a portions are ridiculous. Lamb shish £13 and wee pita bread packed half way. Time to change a chippy

Very disappointed and won’t be using again. The fish had chewy batter that was like plastic to bite into like it had been from the day before, fish also really dry and really really salty and cold. Chips were old, dried out and cold. Garlic bread pizza was cold also. The doner kebab meat was ok but no one could eat as the pitta bread had a taste that resembled mould. Not great at all and such a shame as normally alright.

I am a Mexican tourist and I really loved this place. It is made for you to carry food. The flavors are exquisite and the prices are very affordable. The pizzas are very good!!

I placed an order at 17.58pm on Deliveroo it stated my order would be delivered by 18.28pm it is now 20.42pm an I've now found out they can't do the order. That chip shop sould be closed down it is completely hopeless as are their staff as no one kept me up to date with what was happening. Do not use this chip shop especially if you want food delivered as their staff are not up to the task. I'm a lawyer and this matter is not over.

We love javits! Often we treat ourselves to “fish n chip Friday” which is always delivered hot and crispy! Sometimes we collect from the store and I love it when the lady calls me honey lol …tonight we went with burgers for dinner, the chicken burger is one of the best I’ve ever had, my first from Javits and won’t be my last! The bun was fresh and soft, perfect amount of mayo/lettuce/onion ratio! Highly recommend!

Food was okay but staffs behavior wasn't nice. Staffs needs to be more polite.

Order from here regularly. Last twice iv ordered a hoagie wrap its came without salad and sauce. Clearly says in the description that it should. Also had the same issue with a kebab a few months ago. Shame as I enjoy their kebabs and wraps but now considering ordering from elsewhere in future

Terrible munch. Was freezing cold, donner meat was rotten. Had the cheek to charge 7 quid also. BARRED

Excellent freshly prepared food. I had the pizza which was crisp, thin and made using fresh ingredients. Staff were polite and helpful.

Your delivery driver was extremely rude wasn’t even a minute I got to the door and he began shouting at me to answer the door faster cause he has 2 other deliveries to do in his car. Hell mind someone if they have a disability and can’t get to the door as quick as I did as he would have taken there head off, literally no respect for the customer he was delivering too and not even thinking about the circumstances someone could be in just damn right rude.

Chips half hard. Doner meat rubbery. Couldn't have been the staff because 'she cooked them fresh' and the 'kebab meat looked fine'. Disgusting, this from a regular orderer, now looking for elsewhere. Put off for life.

Food was mediocre at best, chips were cold and had no flavour. Mac n cheese was flavourless and way to cheesy, burger was okay could do with less sauce and more cheese however.

Had a very good deep fried mars bar £4. Off menu but cooked with pride. Manager was a bit shirty about taking photos though which is a shame as the food was good.

BUTCHERED 2 PORTIONS OF CHIPS The staff didn’t get my order right (chips and cheese with 2 tubs of sauce on the side) when asked for refund or a new portion I was met with incredibly rude, ignorant and “it’s the customer’s fault” attitude while blaming everything on the website- no refund or any kind of compensation was offered. Working in the industry most of my adult life - absolute disgrace in customer and hospitality skills - combine it with average food, below average hygiene and incredibly rude and ignorant manager, perfect recipe for a disaster and an empty stomach when you were hoping for a quick and easy dinner. Will DEFINITELY NEVER ORDER AGAIN.

Was a recurring customer until they tried to take advantage of me by keeping all of my change from the £10 note I gave them to pay for my food, and then they passed it off as if it was a normal transaction. The food itself was decent. Dodgy behaviour at this place.

I got garlic scampi, christ i could keep dracula away for years with the amount of garlic on it, just need to tone it down abit too strong in taste. I thought i was eating just garlic not the taste of fish. I wonder what my collegues will smell tomorrow morning. Thats after a scraped most of it off 😂😂

Personally I found the food pretty generic nothing special. Was edible delivery was on time. I just feel the food is mass produced and sat waiting for orders to come in. Didn't get deli belly. Prices are reasonable for what you get just don't expect to be blown away with good fresh food.

Another cold delivery! Seems like the guy in the car is taking the long way round with deliveries. Took over an hour to arrive after deliveroo said it’s on its way! Never using them again!!

Their fish suppers are really nice but none of the delivery drivers ever seem to know what my address is. And they have the utter cheek to tell me my address is wrong!! I've been using that address with the flat number and door number in that order for years and years and not one single company, not one delivery person, not one single visitor has ever had a problem finding my right address without having to phone me!

Have been a regular for years. Don't know whats happened but £18 for a calzone with raw chicken and half cooked donner with a massive hole on the top is awful. Customer lost.

Well not happy just got food delivered Dona pizza cold pizza was not cooked and to top it up a hair in it the lots went in the bin absolutely disappointed fist bad one now won’t be using them

The food is just as good as the original and best Granton Takeaway Javits. Donner kebab pizza done right, they call it Gangnam style and my god it's amazing! Highly recommended

We ALWAYS use Javits - it's our family favourite! Food cooked to perfection (hot - but soft - chips, nice and saucy (as requested), food exactly as ordered, friendly - and quick service - and delivery is the same.

Absolutely terrible service. I have eaten out of this place for many years and it's went down hill. There was a system error with my order on the website and they were unwilling to take the order back and give me what i was wanting. Instead i was told to pay for another order. I was rudely ask by the manager what you want me to do about it when I first called. The order was placed online so therefore they say i am to blame. I spend around £100+ per week in this place since it opened but will never go back now. There was clearly a error but they were not interested in taken the food back and replacing it . So yes I am now £12 out of pocket and a calzone in the bin. ( looked like a 10" but was ment to be 12) But javits have now lost out in my custom nairly every night. From now on I will support the other chippys around this area.

I was the regular customer for a very long time , got disappointed how they treat customers… I’ve got the wrong pizza and when I called up I had to wait another 40 min for my pizza plus tge rider asked me to give him back tge wrong one , like wth…. After those 40 min I’ve got undercooked and cold … you lost your regular customer! Before pizza was way better and service also ! Not recommend anyone anymore

Normally pretty decent but the price hike is a bit much ill get that out there right away! Anyway, got a fish supper, the server put a peice of the whit wrappibg paper on the fish after it had been sauced up (usually its a bit see through plastic) they had obviously run out of the plastic and some genius thought paper would do the trick..... It didn't!! Instead half the batter of my fish is now stuck the white bit of paper! Cheers for that 🙄🙄🙄

Received many deliveries from javits , 3 orders there was things wrong with each order , I got one tonite 29th June and there was a hair in my hamburger roll, it was stuck right into the batter, I was absolutely disgusted, in good faith they sent me another one but I was that disgusted I couldn't eat it !!!! Will not order from her again which is very disappointing 😕

I got a large fish and chips to take away, and it was quite good and indeed quite large.

After getting a pizza with all the toppings slid onto one slice akin to having being carried vertical. I decided to try again. This time they got the order wrong and when I phoned and complained the woman tried to say I ordered something completely different and then doubled down on the lies saying the woman next to her had also heard me on the phone(in a busy shop) Unbelievable. Steer Clear.

0 stars. Avoid. Driver admitted he got lost. Over an hour for delivery & can see shop from window, food arrived and was stone cold. offered to send another order and keep us waiting another god knows how long. Said they couldn’t refund either so don’t pay online. Used to be a good chippy now awful with terrible drivers that don’t know the local area.

I have had really bad service and i’m really not pleased as we use Javit’s every weekend. There must be a fault with the Javit’s app as we clicked on a donner calzone and then clicked 12’’ but it must have came through to the take away as a 12’’ calzone, I also ordered a carbonara pasta and it has came and it is like pure oil! I phoned up to see if they could sort out our problem and they said no! so not happy with the service given! we won’t be ordering from here again! honestly disappointed.

£6 for 2 regular chips..... were greasy and not good! absolute ripoff. blaming it on prices potatoes but wait... other chip shops not putting their prices up like this lot..

Called to place order and lady on the phone not listening at all, had to repeat myself over and over! Order arrived it was wrong, she tried to make excuses and say I ordered wrong. Both calls to her had someone humming or singing to them self. If you are not interested in doing a job she should not be there. The lady who normally answers the phone is friendly and never have a issue with her. In all the times we order from here!

Be ready! javits Takeaway have a new price list, not a penny increase but pounds. Not all bad but I cannot find the notification anywhere other than when I was in shop already placing order. My fault, Just be ready for more £. Javits a little notification would be nice.

Cold, chips reheated and unedable. Used granton one in past always good. Will not use this one again.

Real gd small fish n chips, deep fried foods are decent too. Never tried pizza so far. Chicken is not recommended.

Had to change my review I made a couple years ago this chippy is terrible, the last few orders I have made the food has been dismal. Dry chips that look days old, fish with lots of bones in and not having the juice I ask for they just decide to send me what they think I like, with no phonecall. Won't be ordering again! This chippy used to be decent.

Brilliant chippy. Every order has been very quick, piping hot and delicious. Excellent.

Staff are very abrubt and rude. They won't show the card machine screen unless you ask and the quality of the chips is utterly abysmal. Pizzas looked OK and the fried foods were fair to decent. Small selection of sweets and usual selection of juices. Best I can say is that it looked clean. But it's not a place I would recommend.

The place is a hit or miss..more miss though, first opened it was Barry, now its beyond average, normally my local and it gets used most week's, what I've just been delivered tonight is not far off a joke and it look over 1hour 30mins. Time to find a new chippy.

Meal delivered but items ordered not included. Phoned to enquire and was told it would be delivered in 5mins, 25 mins later phoned again. Told they were busy but would send out again...by now meal was cold so told them not to bother. Wont be ordering again...
