After long wait, had to ask where our order was altho other people were all served. Jacket potato with chicken curry lukewarm and potato undercooked - translucent and hard nstead of white and fluffy. Waitress truculent and obviously couldnt care less, though she did argue with me that the potato, while not hot enough, was cooked adequately. Seemed more interested in party of people who came in after us. Didnt pay and wont be going again.

Our office decided to have a Christmas lunch buffet this year. I had heard some very good things about this place around town, so I suggested it to my colleagues. We had the buffet yesterday which was to everyone's satisfaction. There was a lovely variety of very neatly packaged sandwiches, which were of top quality. There was also other nibbles such as sausage rolls, pasties and quiches as well as a sound variety of cakes. We also had a bucket (yes a bucket) of crisps which everyone enjoyed! Really made our lunch a great experience. Thanks guys, top notch :)

My husband and I visited the cafe and had coffee, cake and scone. Excellent service and as I am unable to take milk products, the assistant not only consuted the cook, but she came out personally to go over what cakes etc they had without milk. Both the coffee cake and scone were excellent, being big portions, so much so that I was unable to eat every morsal. A place we would visit again.

Came here as we stumbled upon it by mistake, the staff here are very pleasant and welcoming and serve very good coffee. There are a selection of home made sponges at the counter which looked very appetising however we opted for toasties. It's a shame the food didn't come in bigger plates as the plate doesn't allow you room to cut your food up. It comes with a side order or coleslaw and crisps which was a nice touch. This cafe is great for a quick stop and a coffee, next time I would order a slice of cake as they looked amazing. Not suitable for disabled people due to the steps leading down to it.

At no point did we feel rushed even though it was busy. I would definitely call again.

We booked the entire venue for a 3 course meal. We really wanted to book somewhere special that is stylish and yet unpredictable. We were celebrating our friends success in a new job and wanted somewhere remarkable and rememberable. As we booked the whole venue we were able to maximise the use of all the space. The room size was more than adequate. The food was lovely and everyone managed to pick what they wanted. A few of us are vegetarians. The venue is unpredictable as it is accessed via a shop frontage through a store that is open during the day time and then down into a basement dinning space with a cake covered counter filled with delights and with the tables beyond. A few of us are intending to return to check this place during the day time so we can have some of the amazing looking cakes !

Visited yesterday 10th March. Asked on arrival if we needed to order at counter, we were told no, someone would be along to take our order. Most people there were in the process of eating, or were sitting drinking coffee having finished their meal. The two members of staff were talking behind the counter, and then one disappeared - we waited and waited. The one remaining member of staff began cleaning? Coffee machine, then stopped to take a payment, then carried on with whatever she was doing, then took payment from another customer. I looked up and tried to catch her eye, as we felt we were being totally ignored. We finally got up and left, and even then we had no response from the staff. Needless to say, I will not be going back!!This is the second time I have experienced this type of treatment at this premises, once in the shop when I stood and waited to pay for several items while the asssistant made a phone call, then appeared to write in a book on the counter, then dealt with a customer who came in, spoke in welsh to the assistant, and was served immediately, leaving me waiting. I felt invisible! I walked out. Perhaps they only want welsh speakers?I won't be persuaded to try a third time!

This cafe can be found in King Street, it is downstairs from Pethau Bychain - an interior boutique style shop with lots of lovely furniture and home accessories. Access to the cafe is down a small flight of stairs from the shop floor. Access to the toilets is up two small flights of stairs from the shop floor. The cafe itself is not that big but nicely decorated, light and airy. A varied menu, sandwiches, jacket potato, quiche etc There were 2 choices on the Specials Board. A large selection of cakes that looked delicious. Limited choice for dairy / gluten free diets. Waitress was friendly and polite, a small wait to be served considering there weren't many tables occupied.I selected an omelette with ham and salad. The omelette itself was ok but hardly any ham and the salad was poor - limp, boring and inedible. Left most of it as the lettuce was evidently not fresh as it was brown on the edges. They do not take credit or debit cards so I had to pop out to the bank nearby for cash. Returned to pay at which point they had cleared my table and obviously saw all the salad left behind and didn't say anything. So it turned out to be a very expensive omelette. Don't think I will be returning again unless its for tea and cake.

A table had been reserved for us in advance therefore we didn't have to wait to be seated. We received a warm welcome and the staff were attentive throughout. The tea and food arrived quickly and was presented very well. The afternoon tea contained a variety of sandwiches and cakes all of which were to a very high standard. I could not actually find any faults with the food or tea at all. We were given a large pot of tea, so much so that there was still some tea left in the teapot. Although the premises does not have a licence to sell alcohol we were allowed to bring our own.The afternoon tea is also very good value at £8,95 per person.I wouldn't hesitate to visit here again.

My wife had the soup of the day (red pepper & tomato) with a toasted ham & cheese toastie (which I believe was available together at £5.95). The salad was one of the best I've had , it came with couscous, coleslaw, fruit (all the trimmings) & also came with a beautiful salad dressing. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal also. We finished off by sharing a scone (with cream & jam) which I believe was homemade, again, this was very very nice.No doubt we will be calling back very soon.

I've had lunch here many times and always end up ordering the quiche and salad which comes with a choice of either jacket or new potatoes - absolutely gorgeous! The reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is the often long wait at busy times. It's fairly small so at certain times I've not been able to get a table, so I'd recommend either an early or a late lunch!

After searching Carmarthen for somewhere decent to have lunch we stumbled upon this, not the usual type of place that we'd choose, not really sure why, but ventured in. The choice of food and the prices were very good. It was busy, which is usually a good sign, but the reasonable wait was certainly worth it, the food was all very fresh and attractively presented. The staff were all very obliging, indeed the lady who served us confirmed a long standing query as to the venue for a Status Quo concert attended about 47 years ago, in fact she confirmed that she was also there! Rather long odds of that as we'd only been to Carmarthen a couple of times since and we don't even live nearby. Try the cakes, they're certainly worth it.

If you like a nice beef steak then look no further! The chef buys his meat from a small Swansea butcher and it’s both great quality and well cooked at an amazingly low price! It’s a pub as well as a restaurant so whether you are looking to eat or just have a beer, it’s great! The only downside is that Doombar is the only ale they keep, you would expect a local welsh beer.

We recently booked and visited this establishment for a Sunday roast / 93rd birthday party, (not me by the way!) as we were staying locally for the weekend. Well what can I say!!, as soon as I arrived, the outside looked like someone’s house in this tiny, yet beautiful village, however once over the threshold it became apparent how large and beautiful the inside of this pub was, even Doctor Who would’ve been impressed with this tardis! I and another family member were greeted by a warm and friendly faced landlady, and she was a lady! Asked where we were from and made us feel incredibly welcome, then she let herself down by undercharging us for our pints £4.50 each!! At home in Wiltshire I pay £6.50 for the very same pint. We were shown to our own large table (11 people), set on our own. This restaurant was impeccable. The food was perfect with some difficult family members dietary requirements, even the chef came to the table which turned out to be the landlord, what a nice guy he was too. This place was so good, I felt only obliged to buy the landlord and landlady a drink to say thank you for looking after us. After giving the 93-year-old the bumps to celebrate, we left happy and fulfilled. Thank you guys!
