This has got to be one of the best chip shops ever,recently moved into the area and though we would try it.the meal was excellent,everything was cooked to perfection,the fish was top quality,chips great and curry sauce so nice.cannot believe their prices,such good value.will definitely return very soon.

It used to be the best place around and my go-to place. However, it started to be worse and worse. First the meat quality dropped, but it is still acceptable, but I would say more on pair with other kebabs around, but then portions started to become smaller, and now these are ridiculous. In the past when I ordered a kebab I was not able to finish it because I was so full, now the amount of meat is so tiny, that I would need to order two kebabs to get full. Absolutely not worth it. Initially, I thought that when there is an "offer" the portions are smaller, so I stopped buying kebabs on offer days, but apparently this is not the case, and these are just tiny. On a positive note - when you order online it is easy to pick up and most of the time (80%) it is prepared on time. It is all pointless now, because I will be better off elsewhere, I would be happier if you instead raise prices instead of dropping on size and quality. I am gonna look for some other fast-food now cuz I am hungry (just ate Pete's kebab lol)

Used to use this chippy without question, however now .. even on arrival I noticed none of the staff, even the ones cooking weren’t wearing gloves or hair nets, then when arriving home with the food, the cod was disgusting, worst fish I’ve ever seen was like rubber and was a light pink colour with barely any batter, the battered sausage wasn’t cooked and the chips were basically white and cold, so so disappointing!! I’ll not be returning and wouldn’t advise anyone else to

Ordered in the evening, queuing system very strange. Horrible, cold, dried -up food, rude staff- nothing positive about this place. Complete waste of time and money- will not be returning here.

Visited on Sun 19th March at approx. 6:30pm there was a que on arrival which didn't move very fast and was very disorganised. Ordered 1 x large bags of chips which I found overpriced and waited an additional 30 minutes for a bag of chips. unbelievable. No apology from staff it was so poorly managed. Will not be returning.

Terrible service bad food. Always try and preorder there is no point as your always back of the queue and have to wait outside in the rain. Took nearly an hour from ordering meant to be fast food. This is not the first time. Always out of specials. Waste of time. Very greasy food. I keep giving it chances won’t be coming again. Staff never even spoke to acknowledge people coming. Rude.

Absolute primal customer service. Asked for the chips to be put separately from the meal (donor and chips) for dietary reasons. From the receipt I saw the staff had negated chips and charged for a whole portion of chips. Lack of common sense. When complained on the phone lady played the ‘rude’ card. Food was also cold, chips felt soggy and didn’t have the crispness they normally have. Customer service unable to take criticism on the phone.

Just got the family a meal in the last hour from Pete's Nuneaton. kebab was like a child's meal, medium fish & chips x2 fish was like a fish bite chips were cold, gravy cold, 2x curry sauce and gravy all 3 lids were not on containers properly all leaked out. staff even got order wrong good job I checked before I left . Will not be returning for food again only to complain in person to say how poor this meal was for £24:99

I keep giving this place to second chance as it's good value for money. But sadly cheap prices don't equate too cold and inedible food.

Work for NHS wanted to get some chips and a scallop batch. Went in to order from countrer at 8.30pm was told did you come to pick up and Order via click and collect I said no. Stood in que waiting to be served. Waited half and hour. When got to till was ignored by the staff at the counter. She went to serve other people that were behind me in the Que. Waited another half an hour. Still ignored by staff. Shouted lost my custom now. Won’t be coming here again after you keep ignoring me and wont serve me.

This is simply the best chip shop around. Chips are light, crispy and perfectly cooked. The fish is fresh and always beautifully cooked. Mushy peas are delicious. Sausage, not battered, always tasty. Portions are always plentiful

Now if you want nostalgia great food and service in nuneaton were do you go. Well simple it has to be Pete's in nuneaton were do you one of if not the oldest chip shops in the area. Always great service fantastic freshly cooked food happy friendly staff and an immaculate clean shop even though in these crazy times of covid and you may need to wait outside they even have a heater. There batter is light crisp and thin chips are crispy fresh and fluffy and cod is juicy white and taste amazing. And kebabs with a large would feed 2 people depends on how big your appetite. Well done to everyone at Pete's and please keep up your hard work your team is a credit to you shop and look forward to when I am next in the area popping in for a hearty fresh meal thanks again

Fish and chips on a half price deal, we decided to return to petes for the first time in months. However I doubt I will ever get food there again as it was the worst large cod in batter it has ever been my misfortune to eat, or try to.... I binned most of it. The reason we stopped going to this shop is because the quality of the food was going downhill and today has justified why we stopped, not worth my time or money.

To my deep regret I went to Pete's chip shop thinking that maybe the food have got better unfortunately it hadn't chips were extremely undercooked to the point where I had to take them back I asked him if he was struggling to keep the friars hot to which I got no reply

Came here for Fish and Chips one evening whilst staying in the area for work. The food was great, and good value. The staff were friendly and polite. Highly recommended.

I have used Petes for 3 years +, I drive past 3 chippys to get to Petes because the food is always good. I've been using the click and collect,as advised and found it easy. But..... The last two weeks I've made my c&c order, arrived at the shop only to be told, 'sorry we don't have any pies left'. And I've left with a refund. Not pointing fingers, but it seems to be the same young lad who's in charge on both occasions this has happened. The c&c service will only works if you have everything you're selling. Hate to say it, but I won't be using Petes Chippy again.

Pete’s is excellent value fish and chips £1.99. The portions are just right. The shop is always busy so the food is freshly cooked and hot, we use this shop regularly and have not been disappointed. The staff are friendly and polite.

We usually use petes all the time and we have never had an issue before but on the 21st of December we made an order of 3 mini fish and chips several customers came in after us and ordered some orders smaller some orders larger, we watch people come place an order, receive their order and leave while we was left to wait my brother asked how long the mini fish would be as we had been waiting for them for the staff to say if there is an issue talk to Pete he was only next door apparently. So fast food that isn't so fast and extremely rude staff.

Been going for years and never had any complaints, pleasant staff and first class fast service , Very reasonable prices and always a queue

Chips are lovely, however service on this visit was absolutely insulting, normally use the one in Bedworth much better, staff didn’t know who was next in the queue, when I was being served I just said it’s not very clear where the queue starts or ends, I was told to calm down and another member of staff said I was rude to her colleague but not to me, Clearly don’t understand customer service. I went for our tea not abuse.

Called in on way past fancied some fish & chips. A few people in front of us so thpught must be good. Large caod & chips and medium fish & chips, nice chips very fresh and hot but the dish was not very good at all. Very thin piece of cod with thick batter to make it look bigger, it was tasteless very thin and dissapointing. £11.40 for the two of us, wont hurry to go back there again. Chips were nice that is it. Service was good

Have had Petes lunch time mini fish and chips (£1.99) many times and always enjoyed them. Today we had same £1.99 lunch but to say the fish had shrunk would be an understatement. and chips. although plentiful were not at their best. Don't know what fish they are frying but think he should advertise as MICRO fish and chips. Very disappointing. Last time we will go there.

They have lunch time offers from £1.99, and mini fish and chips (they call it medium) is £1.99 all day every day, which is a complete bargain, however, I always find the fish to be quite greasy, you get what you pay for I guess

Never really rated Pete's chippy, but thought we would give it a chance as a last minute meal.

As on of the previous reviews state it’s a bit hit & miss , usually on I personally think on who is frying the fish & chips etc .

Sometimes the food here is great. Others not so. The pies tonight were dry and hard and the chips were far too thick and undercooked. Ugh pale instead of golden brown and hard in the middle. Time to look elsewhere.

I agree with previous review. I grew up on fish n chips in Grimsby where standards are highest...The Haddock and chips I had tonight were utterly perfect and like a chef at the pass, the fryer made sure the hard working front of house team got my freshly cooked fish order wrapped and out to me quickly - the first time I’ve ever seen this in a chippie! First class food and service.

Soy un hombre tradicionales de pescado y patatas fritas y he estado Petes en 6 / 7 ocasiones en Nuneaton y siempre tenía el mismo orden y nunca me ha decepcionado.

Lovely food and staff very welcoming we had several kebabs as there were 8 of us eating and 2 lots of chicken nuggets and chips for the grandchildren the food was very filling and hit and good value for money

Used to love this place, now poor quality food in small portions, smallest "medium" fish I've ever clapped eyes on, I would hate to see a small one lol, long long wait for small portion of undercooked chips, come on Pete sort this out

He visitado Pete's Chippery muchas, muchas veces, y cada vez juro 'nunca más', pero, al final, después de unas cuantas semanas, me sucumben. Nunca he tenido una mala comida, pero ah, la espera. No alcanzo a entender cómo un lugar concurrido nunca ha cocinado, el tamaño cod unidades esperando me distracción. El personal actual parece nuevo, en mi última visita hay personal insuffiient servir y eran muy lentos. Los pinchos son muy populares, parece, pero es muy frustrante ver personal hacer kebabs y no atendiendo a la cola larga. Si eres una persona paciente, está bien, pero he escuchado a muchas personas quejarse de la lentitud del servicio.

Esta noche volví a pete's después de no visitar por un tiempo y para ser sincero ojalá no hubiese molestado! Las patatas fritas son las patatas fritas más insípido que hemos tenido! Maltratada salchicha estaba bien, los niños salchichas estaba bien, pero el pescado no era estupenda. No nos iremos de nuevo y yo no lo recomendaría. Decepcionados.

The fish was so thin it was totally over cooked, sausage was burnt and I would definitely say the chips were recycled from the afternoon service. Sometimes it's good but won't bother going again, too much of a gamble.

Late back from work and could not be bothered to cook. Called in for 1/2 price fish and chips. Great fresh fish and for 3.00 it's not worth switching the cooker on.

Well & truly going down the Pan ...We ordered fish & chips twice ..The fish was so greasy the batter was floating in the grease and separating away from the fish .The chips were hard & bitty as if they had been refried from the morning ... Awful !!This used to be the best chippy in town by far and never used anywhere else .... Until now !!Will not be using again ..Needs better staff plus when Pete himself is not on site the frying of fish & chips is terrible So disappointed !!

Been coming to Pete's Chippie in Bedworth for some time, premises is first class, well decorated, and very clean, staff are normally very good, and I like the fact that you have wait for the fresh fish to be cooked, my only comment would be that sometimes the fish is over-cooked, 5 minutes less and it would be perfect, but at half-price does it really matter if the odd fish is a little well done? Will continue to visit.

Pete's chippy used to be an excellent place for take away food. Since the last couple of years it seems to of changed to a rather more cook it, serve it and get out of here atmosphere. Staff are ok and the shop is clean. The food was outstanding but now it seems not to be. Come back original Pete's chef's lol. It's ok I suppose.

I live on Croft Rd and have been to Pete's many times but recently they have gotten very stingy with the portions. Maybe its new staff or to pay for the refurbishment I don't know but I had kebab meat and chips and it came in a burger size box with 10 chips. I felt disgusted when I got home and opened the packaging, considering it cost me £4.50. Next time your in the area carry on around the corner to Tomkinson Rd.

I do like the food from this place but I do think it is slightly overpriced and overrated. There are places closer by to me that I would prefer to go to.

Went there tonight with my daughter we had two meal deals for £2.50 each.Battered sausage chips and gravy one with peas.The girls in there were lovely to my daughter they gave her a lolly which was nice of them.The food was lovely and also hot and plenty of it.If you are in Nuneaton and looking for a chippie takeaway go to Petes you won't be disappointed. .

Do not go to Pete's Chippery in Bedworth,I waited 20 minutes while they cooked kebab meat...WHAT A JOKE and then they ran out of chips...biggest joke of all was on me though I could not walk out because the take your money before they serve you and now I know why they do that too! The shop is always empty so don't waste your money going here cos £1.70 for a bag of almost cold chips is a no no too...sell up Pete whoever you are!

Carnt fault the food, that's why there is always a que and a bit of a wait, but good things come to those who wait.

We only recently started to go to Pete's for fish and chips since the recent refurb but I would consider this to be the best fish and chips in the area. The fish is always really well cooked and the chips are also really nice, not at all greasy and always piping hot - what more could you ask for?

The food is lovely and tasty and it is by far the best chippy food in the area. Sometimes the service is painfully slow which can be frustrating.

Went to petes tonight first time since refit. Always parked outside no problem before , then when I get back to my car , I had been issued with a parking ticket , a £7.00 tea turned out to be £42.00, won't be going back in a hurry , shame though because chips where nice .

The food is consistently good and excellent value for money, the only downside is there is limited roadside parking (I think some of the reviews here are for the Bedworth outlet). The staff are always welcoming and friendly. What more could you want from your local chippy?

Excellent chips and lovely food. Friendly staff and easy to park at the back. The only thing I would change about the place is the opening and closing times. I am not sure what it is about this area but the chip shops seem to have limited opening times. In Birmingham it seems as though Chips shops are open most of the time. Anyway great place and great food.

Consistently good if not excellent fish and chips. Whenever we go away, invariably to the seaside, we always come back and have fish and chips here. Only once has it ever been better by the sea!

Be prepared to wait at peak times,good value for money vast menu best chippy for miles around.Parking to the side of premises makes it easier when waiting as main road has double yellows everywhere

my girlfriend and i visited petes chippery in bedworth tonight,and to be very blunt, CRAP!!!!,rock hard donner meat,cold chips,scallop was like biting on cardboard,and a "RIP OFF" to boot.Avoid at all costs,we have been to worst chippies but better food!!!!!!!!!

Having used this chip shop for a number of years now I think we may look elsewhere as the portion sizes are getting smaller on each visit, it has a lot of trade and I feel if there is a queue the standard and size of food portion goes down, Just to get people out of the door quicker. I would rather wait for a decent meal of an adequate size than the rip off that's taking place now

Unfortunately, I live 3 miles from this cracking chippy, BUT its well worth travelling to get to for a dose of fish n chips!Staff friendly, clean and tidy shop and a no-nonsense menu!

Really good chip shop. The only chi shop I will go to in Nuneaton. They have some great deals on and the kebab wraps are great

Food is always hot and fresh and hygiene is excellent and staff very polite would recommend to anyone very good chip shop well worth a visit
