Corner House in Nuneaton and Bedworth

Absolutely disgraceful service. My Son took us to The Corner House to celebrate his house purchase. Booked for 7pm but were there for 6.50pm were told there was a 15 to 20 minutes delay. At 7.30 we went to order were told very rudely by I think the Manager that we couldn't order and that there was at least another 15 minutes to wait until we could order. At no time were we told of the problem. At which point we finished our drinks and went to a Harvester instead and had a very nice meal and pleasant staff! Neither of us four will ever use the Corner House again!

Real shame I write this , took a long time to get served to order food ( only1 other person in front of me ) then another 10 minutes to get a drink for one of our group , no cutlery brought over after ordering, then when the food came out 3 of the 4 meals were over cooked and cheesy garlic bread was like rock , and there was a smell in the place that reminded me of sweaty socks , such a shame as it's always been a great place to eat

Very short staffed,had to wait nearly one hour for food.Cannot blame the 3 staff that were working,but not an enjoyable night

We booked in for a meal for our daughters birthday, and we’re very pleased with The Cornerhouse, greeted with a smile, staff were cheerful and helpful, the food was lovely, fresh and came out in a timely manner, we all thoroughly enjoyed each of our meals and I would definitely visit again, for a Tuesday evening the atmosphere was expectedly quiet, but again it felt like a nice place to be, thank you.

Came back to Corner House after long break.Under new management food is tasty again 👍 Quick service (there was 5 of us),great atmosphere. Will be regulars again. Highly recommended .

Lots of items off the menu were not available. No chicken or beef for a roast dinner. No roast potatoes. No fish and chips. No beef burgers. Limited menu on the puddings too! Waste of time going

We’ve been coming here for years. But last night we left before even ordering food. There was one staff member on at the bar, and clearly very little staff anywhere else. Food being sent back to the kitchen continuously, one party had pre ordered food and were waiting 2 hours! Such a shame as it used to be great.

Staff are really friendly and welcoming. The food was nice, decent selection of drinks. Will definitely be returning. Decent and fair pricing.

We went for Sunday lunch today, very poor! The mash was cold, the roast potato was made of mash not proper roasties, was soggy in the middle. Peas were hard, Yorkshire was so hard I couldn’t get my knife through it even with gravy on! Won’t be going again!

The staff are always friendly and professional, the food hot and tasty and the setting is always clean and comfortable. I always enjoy coming here.

Had a Sunday roast today at Corner House Nuneaton. Worst meal I have ever had. Mash potato was cold roast potato not proper roasties, they were mash potato just shaped & roasted but soggy in the middle. Peas were hard. Yorkshire was so hard I couldn’t cut it with a knife, even with gravy on! We won’t be going there again!

Shocking . We’ve waited 1hr 20mins for our food . People who ordered before us didn’t even have their food before us, a couple walked out . The young lad who was waiting was brilliant couldn’t fault him , he couldn’t apologise enough . Also a 15 year old was served alcohol. Table next to us has been dirty since we have been here , over two hours . I would not recommend this place . A lot of the food unavailable. I don’t even know why you opened . Shocking .

Been living near this place for over 57 years, never been in. Wife was in once. We decided to give it a try. Nice and quiet on the day, although it can get busy. We had lunchtime special, lovely hot crispy mushrooms, followed by a small piece of fish, ample chips, yet mushy peas were like a one spoonful. All in all it was a pleasant experience. Would go again.

Where can I start. A pub that doesn't keep a standard white rum of any kind? I have a bar in my garden better stocked that also has a wider variety of spirits. The meal, having waited over an hour for it to get to the table, was quite frankly inedible. Steak that had been destroyed by the 'chef'. Perhaps he should stick to making pizza. Charging £1.50 for 3 of the smallest onion rings I have ever seen in my life is daylight robbery. The only saving grace is that we were refunded for the meals but it really shouldn't have reached that stage. Unfortunately it does mean we would never re-visit. The potential was missed in every way shape and form.

Visited the corner house for the first time this morning, what a lovely friendly pub. Delicious breakfast and welcoming, friendly staff. Will definitely be revisiting. Thank you.

Service good, looked after. No choice of proper beer, just 1 handpull. Pub empty so no atmosphere. Last tuesday afternoon.

Bar staff rude and lazy didn't want to serve anyone or assist any customer. Took 20 minutes to get a beer with 1 member of staff leaning up the bar the entire time

Went to the Corner House to have a meal and do the quiz. The food and service was excellent and the quiz was fun, well run with rounds that covered a wide variety of topics. Couldn't recommend it more.

Burger was burnt, pizza wasn't even a pizza! The pizza wasn't rolled it was basically just a lump of dough with toppings added on Manager couldn't even be bothered to even check if the food was ok for us Overpriced microwave food

Food is always good and is always served with in a reasonable time after ordering, ordering is easy you can order at the bar and just tell them your table number. I would recommend if you are looking to go and eat later in the week that you go earlier in the day as the later it becomes in the week and time of day the less options become available such as stakes. With the establishment having an area for children to play it can become a bit noisy with kids running around and playing, but still a great atmosphere.

Just been to the corner house and the food was really good! Value for money and tasted great! The team gave great service and the landlord Colin even spoke to us about our experience and if there was anything they could do to make our experience better. Well done corner house we will be back!

Just visited for my grand daughter's birthday. Lovely food and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Lovely play area for kids, bookshop section, board games and dog friendly. This place has it all and reasonably priced as well. I will definitely come back.

Tasty food and great value, my granddaughters have asked to go again, friendly waitress and atmosphere, didn’t have to wait too long which was great.

The services was really good and excellent and I was exercise service and I would let people know about this place to come for food or a meal out or for drinks.

Firstly we waited 1 hour for the food to get to the table. Then we were told that they had run out of chunky chips surely they knew this a hour before while we were waiting. When the meal finally came how disappointed we were we left two of the plates half full luke warm food we couldn't eat the rest. The pub wasn't busy. Seemed more staff than customers. My husband had scampi which was no existent in most of the scampi he had was just bread crumbs. We should of asked for our money back. . Would we go back No. The pub needs to improve there service.

We were a table of 11 should have been 14 for 40th birthday celebration. The staff were obliging in accommodating the seating area which we asked for they were also very polite on the night. However the food left somewhat to be desired out of the 11 orders only two meals were served hot, the rest were at best slightly warm the quality and quantity of the food very disappointing, two meals had to sent back as they were not as requested one of which was a child's meal that was ordered on the 1st order of the table unfortunately it was the last to arrive and had to be sent back because it wasn't as was requested, all of the party members were extremely disappointed with the meal , and will not be going back to the pub . shame as we have had a lot of meals there in the past 8 years but not any more .

I travelled to Nuneaton for my annual car service at Arbury Peugeot. After dropping off my car I was looking for somewhere for breakfast before having a nice walk whilst waiting for my car to be finished. I came across The Corner House which opened at 9am for breakfast. I walked in to a lovely welcome by Taylor who showed me the breakfast menu and took my order. I had the full breakfast (bacon x 2, sausage, hash brown, tomato, beans, fried egg, mushrooms and toast) and a latte which was a very reasonable price. The breakfast was very nice. I really enjoyed it. A big shout for Taylor who was friendly, efficient and professional. A lovely young lady. Thank you.

Nice clean pub. Food really nice. We had a pie and gammon. Service good and the food arrived in an appropriate time.

We booked a table today. We ordered at the bar. Hour and 15 minutes . Waitress come to the table to say there were no chunky chips. Only french fries surely you check your stock in a morning . I had hunters chicken left most of the meal . My husband had scampi . The scampi was no existent in the bread crumbs. I don't go out for a meal to order to be told just before meal coming out that you have run out of items . Surely you know this when ordering ? So slow for food to come out. Especially when the pub wasn't busy. Loads of staff yet slow service . Didn't bother getting a desert else it may of took another hour. I can understand if a pub is busy . But it wasn't. Would we come back . No not unless you improve

We were a party of 11 that should have been 14 unfortunately some of the guests couldn't make it. I would just like to say that my requirements for seating on the ground the staff were most accommodating, the meals for 11 off us one being child however were very disappointing out of the 11 order's only two meals were actually hot the rest of the meals we're at best slightly warm quantity and quality of the food very disappointing, the child's order was one of the first orders to be made and one of the last to be served and then had to be sent back because the order was not as requested.all off the 10 meals ordered was extremely disappointing,and we won't be returning such a shame as it used to be a popular pub especially the food ☹️

Choice for starters & mains was ok for us, along with side orders. food was cooked well, arrived hot. No complaints on taste.

Recently went to The Corner House pub for a meal & I can say it was an amazing experience!! The atmosphere was so welcoming, the food was amazing, tasty & great value of money ! Would highly recommended anyone to go & experience it for themselves x

What an AMAZING Full English breakfast. Best one I’ve had. It was enjoyed by all. Amazing quality and extremely good for the price. Will definitely be back. Very friendly staff. Food all arrived together for our large group.

Waited 45 mins for starter to arrive, should of known better when there was a massive queue at the bar with member of staff serving one polishing his cutlery . Asked how long till starters arrive after 45 minutes to be told another 45 minutes the chef is on his own ( maybe he needs help ) I could understand if the pub was busy but there was 12 people in the pub. Terrible pub and service avoid like the plague

Lovely staff and service. Took us straight to table. Food was hot and plenty of it too. The only thing I would say is that I would have liked someone to come over and ask us if we would like any more drinks. That would have been ideal.

Extremely poor service, table wasn’t cleared between started and main. Ran out of some foods and drink, no alternative offered. Shame as we’ve visited numerous times before but won’t be returning

Went during lunchtime, so very quiet. Food OK, "cheap and cheerful". Staff very good and premises were fine.

I have had to edit my review due a bad experience. We waited 30 minutes for food to come out, which came out wrong. They had put the order incorrectly through the till and was told what we wanted was out of stock so had to get a refund. What a wasted lunch break.

Could not fault the meals .Enjoyable evening

We ordered drinks at the bar before being shown to our table, which we had booked for the four of us few days beforehand 2 of the drinks we recieved were not what we asked for. Was asked by bar staff if we wanted them changed but said there wasn't a need to. The four of us ordered our starters along with our main course, we waited a good hour for our first course to arrive which was really bad especially as we were the only ones in the restaurant. Two of us had soup and bread roll, which we enjoyed, the other two starters, buttermilk chicken strips and popcorn chicken and breaded mushrooms were just adequate. After that things rapidly declined. My partner ordered chicken tikka masala, and my daughter in law ordered fish and chips which appeared to be OK at that time. Twenty minutes later we were informed that both those dishes were not available, so they both had to make other choices. My daughter in law ordered whole tails of breaded scampi. My partner was offered a madras curry as a substitute,which he accepted. A further 15mins past and a further bombshell occurred as we were told there was no madras curry either. Choice number three he chose. was the steak and ail pie which my son had already ordered for himself. I had ordered the gammon steak. The food eventually arrived, the two steak and ail pies were inedible and cold. Ending on a good note my gammon steak was absolutely delicious All in all our experience was very unsatisfactory, especially as it was my sons birthday. When challenged the manager, apologised for the appalling service with a disalusioned look on his face indicating that this was a fairly regular occurrence. He offered us a. 20% discount which we reluctantly accepted. Unfortunately we will never return to this establishment again.

Food was lovely. However upon arrival being unable to park in the disabled area was annoying as someone without a disabled badge had parked and taken up 2 disabled spaces. Had to drop my mum off at door and park else where.

My burger was ok but my husbands battered fish was awful. It was very over cooked and the worst fish and meal he has had. We do not recommend.

The food was nice and cooked in good time. The staff were a little distant, but I did visit on a Monday dinner time. It's a pleasant pub.

Ordered a salad when it came out 40 minutes after ordering at least 3 item not on the salad. Asked why and waited for an answer had to ask again 20 minutes later by now most of it had been eaten. To be told not in stock. Communication between staff should be made when items not available. Steak was also solid. Offered A free drink .WoW Definitely won't be goin back.

Had an amazing time. Food was spectacular, staff were friendly and did not have to wait long for my food. Bonus was going in there star wars event. Got to see chewbacca and a cheeky jawa. Had an amazing time.

We are first time visitors to The Corner House, and we will definitely be back! We had 3 different pizzas and a chicken tikka masala between us and couldn't fault any of the meal. The desserts were divine and we eagerly sampled each others - sticky toffee pudding with custard, rocky road and apple crumble with ice cream. The food was amazing and we can't wait to sample other dishes from the menu on our next visit. The staff were helpful and friendly and our dog was made very welcome. As a wheelchair user, the access is very good and the staff are helpful. The Corner House is recommended. 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had a very long wait for food, which was told to us when ordering the food but the restaurant did not seem busy at all. The food was OK, the pizza was lovely. However, the chips were very cold and the garlic bread was soggy and cold. The service was good, very polite.

First sunny evening in so long so visited the corner house, drinks outside was very chilled and the strongbow went down too well, friendly barmaid made us feel so welcome and with an infectious smile, thanks everyone will be back

We visited after having problems getting a space at other restaurants. The staff (Taylor) accommodated for us, even though they weren't taking any walk-ins. Our food was well prepared and tasty so, in a way, we were happy we couldn't get in elsewhere. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again in the future.

We had the BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA, with Fries & Chips and it was lovely. Carlsberg Lager and Strongbow Cider were ok too 😀😀.

The worst. meal I have ever had. I had fish chips peas. the fish was burnt. I could not even cut through the batter. my wife asked for a refund. I will not use that pub again. I wouldn't want to rate that pub. I didn't even want to give a star for any of the services

Party of 7 adults and 2 children. Waited for food 1 hour 45 minutes for it to come out cold or un-edible, several meals sent back, which meant people were all eating at separate times. Food that was eaten wasn’t pleasant.! Food that was fried was awful, fish was dark brown indicating that the oil in fryer needs changing. Not a good experience at all. Very understaffed. Tables were dirty, food and dirty plates left on tables for the whole duration we were there. 2 1/2 hours in total.

The burger was Burt and taste like gone of beef and the lettuce was dry chips was cold tasted like it had just been in the fridge for half hour the steak was rock solid like brick

Probably the worst meal I have eaten for a long time. Took 1 hr and 10 minutes to arrive no mention of a problem with a grill. Steak was tough, more like rump than sirloin. Peas like bullets.1mushroom cut into 8 chips were good asked for mustard. Told JUST RUN OUT.6.00 pm on a Saturday night!!!!.we have been customers for 30 yrs.No lo nger service non ex istant

Worst mix grill I ever had. Onion ring's over cooked you can kill someone if you throw them. Steak was burnt with no taste(I asked for medium rare), smallest ever seen maybe 1oz, chicken breast I was scared to try it looked not cooked.

I've always liked this pub and have had many a good meal here. I don't know what's happened in the last year or so though. The last twice we have visited the pizza kitchen has been closed. The first time we put it down to just one of those things/bad luck. Having booked on-line, we revisited expecting the usual good food and good service, unfortunately neither happened. We arrived and were told we hadn't booked, despite having the confirmation on our phones, hardly the warmest welcome! Seemingly, the pub was short on staff, hence the pizza kitchen being closed again, there was no sign up on the way informing anyone of this saying, and we were not told about this until we had already had a round of drinks. We decided to stay and order alternative food from the menu. The table was sticky like it hadn't been wiped since it was last used. The young lad that brought our cutlery just left it in a pile on the table, it wasn't wrapped out set out on the table, which we observed other staff doing just before we left. The food took ages to arrive and wasn't great when it did arrive. I ordered a burger which arrived in what looked like a dog bowl, with some very anaemic looking fries. Frankly, McDonalds could have done better. I won't be coming back!

Booked a table in January for mother's day. Arrived to be told someone was already at are table. Then get told to take a seat and someone will be over for take are order drinks Arrived waitrd thirty minutes before being informed they don't do table service. So I go the bar to order from the mothers day menu to be told there's no prawn cocktail and no roast beef and the cake was so dry waste of money will never return.

Pleasant and helpful, they looked after and our Dog and the food was prompt and tasty.

Had a great day here today for mother's day. Food came quickly, staff were friendly, polite and our dog was able to join us which was what we needed. Only downside was the fudge cake was just identical to a chocolate birthday cake from the supermarket. But it definitely didn't spoil the experience or the dinner, for the price too you really can't complain. We'll be back 😊

Where do I start. Booked a table for 6 @ 3pm for Mother’s Day. Arrived 10 minutes early and finally get served for drink at 3. We then ordered food, mother picked a baguette, I was told by the manageress it was too late to order as it was gone 3pm,, I said I was there at 3pm but i she said they were too busy to make a baguette ! I said I doesn’t look busy to me…. That was that… when ordering our food she started being rude to one of the staff members.. who asked if the soup was on the menu, a fair question … maybe she was having a bad day 🤷🏻‍♂️. We then received our food at 3.50 the food was OK… the cutlery on the table was dirty and my meal ( mixed grille ) didn’t arrive with a steak knife although my sons did… then we ordered dessert, we were asked what certain desserts were to be accompanied with, Ice cream, custard etc.. ordered and it arrived in good time, however one of the desserts should have been served with custard.. it wasn’t, it eventually arrived as she’d eaten it… We were seated near the door which was too cold for my elderly parents, I decided not to ask to move table because of the attitude I received earlier. Needless to say we won’t be bothering with The Corner House again.. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY LADIES

No or little staff no service people waiting especially for food not the young lady behind the bar fault it must be your inept management of your pubs to blame

First time here took my granddaughter and her partner all I can say is outstanding and amazing highly recommend for food

Decided to give this place another go after a few years now it was no longer a 2-4-1. The best thing about tonight was probably leaving safe in the knowledge we wont bother again! We should have known what was coming by the fact the restaurant was practically empty. First we ordered drinks, which the bar maid seemed to think we could open ourselves and was confused when we asked if they could actually open the bottle for us? Even ordering was hard work as nobody could work the till properly. Took 40 minutes for the starter to arrive, even though the place was empty. Finally the main course came, steaks were ordered medium but came out shrivelled up and over done. The only thing edible was the chips which were clearly just frozen bought. And yes we would have complained to staff had we actually seen any, I think even they knew the service and food was a shambles so they literally dropped and ran, never to be seen again. Suffice to say we won't visit again!

Was very dark from the outside we weren't sure it was open went in very quiet nice smile from staff member we found table then ordered our food and drinks starter came very fast and mains followed in a good time sweets seemed to take the longest for the children overall staff were plesant thought it could have been a bit clearer as bits of food under tables

Didn't want Sunday roast but the menu offered lots of choices to satisfy our different preferences. We didn't have to wait too long for our meal which we all thoroughly enjoyed as we did the delicious desserts. Charlotte W and Aaron looked after us and nothing was too much trouble.
