Came here for lunch with our friends, who'd been before and recommended it. I had a tuna panini and it was delicious. I'd been told about the legendary chocolate scones, so I had one of those too and it was amazing! Never come across a chocolate scone before but it was worth the visit for that alone!

Wonderful staff and good food but perpetually cold in the cafè. I visit twice a week and I've lost count of the number of times I've had to sit in my coat and scarf. This spoils the whole experience.

We were knocked out by the wonderful breakfast and friendly staff when we popped in to get some houseplants. Many thanks for a very pleasant experience.

The garden centre is charming, smaller than the Tiptree one, but well equipped with plants and gifts. Friendly staff. The breakfast was very good, with locally sourced sausages. Unfortunately, the restaurant was very cold and we had to wear our coats while eating. It really spoilt our breakfast meeting up with friends.

I had the chickpea, butternut squash and spinach curry and it was absolutely delicious. The best vegan curry I've had in a long time. Always more than happy with this place for a light lunch or afternoon tea, but this meal was exceptionally good.

Nice enough baguette, fresh soft bread, nice filling. But overpriced even at these difficult times. My main issue is the drinks. Why not scans or bottles of drink, particularly I am a Type 1 diabetic. There was water of course and two of their fruit drinks, all if course at exorbitant prices. Wil not eat here again.

Checking out the coffee shop - after an absence of a few years - we were very pleasantly surprised. Although very busy, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and diligence in their service. My choice of onion quiche with salad and coleslaw allowed for a piece of delicious cake which could not be ignored! My partner's choice of steak pie and chips was equally enjoyed. We will be returning.

Visited for lunch, just managed to get in on time around 2.15. Decided on the ploughman’s - excellent choice. The only criticism is I would have liked more bread and perhaps crispy bread but wow the meal itself was fantastic. Very generous serving of red, Brie and cheddar cheeses. We added ham as asked if we would like it - of course - my husband had Stilton added too. We had salad, including a pickled onion, coleslaw and a small jar of chutney Would definitely have this again

Having visited Perrywoods numerous times over the years I am very disappointed that their Cafe both at Tiptree and Sudbury are definitely not now good value for money. The photo below shows my lunch two days ago which was a slice of quiche with salad and coleslaw for £9.99. The portion sizes have reduced so much it really is poor, such a small amount of salad and just a quarter of a tomato! The prices they are charging are more like a restaurant but without any table service as you have to order at a counter and collect your own cutlery/condiments . London restaurants are better value for money these days based on recent comparison.

Visited yesterday to meet a friend for coffee and cake. Food and drinks were great. It was so so cold in the restaurant it wasn't comfortable. We both left our coats and scarfs on. The toilets were also really cold. Maybe now the new build isn't going ahead some heating is needed urgently. We won't be meeting there again for a while.

Lunch before shopping for plants was delicious. The portions are excellent, and the menu is varied. Loved the home made quiche. Only downside filled us up too much to sample the cakes! Very friendly staff.

I cannot fault the lively experience here. Very clean and Covid safe. The staff were friendly, professional and so helpful. You need to book a table and you have an hour to enjoy the delightful food and drink. I would highly recommend a visit

I have eaten here quite a bit over then last few months - Tier restrictions can see long queues - so guess that says a good thing about people wanting to eat here. It's a bit overpriced but its a garden centre - so you expect that. The staff are great - service is wonderful. Food is fresh and tasty - the cakes are amazing and they do a great selection of sweet and savoury scones. Have never been disappointed by the lunch menu either. Definitely recommend the ploughmans!
