I’ve never been to Pergola before and was super excited for our first visit. On arrival the vibe was promising with great music and a bongo player and Saxophonist. We were seated by a lovely girl who was on her first shift working at Pergola. She took our drinks orders which was fine but 35/40 minutes later we were still waiting. Not sure why it took so long considering it was just a vodka,lemonade & lime and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. We then had to chase 3 different members of staff. When the drinks finally came over they gave us the bottle of wine as it was. No wine cooler which I find astonishing considering we were paying £48 for a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. The manager did apologise and brought some cocktails over but it seemed that most tables were complaining and had the same cocktails on their table. We ordered food which came out reasonably fast. Most of it was fine but the mac & cheese was basically dry pasta with some cheese on. We then ordered more drinks (same order as the first) and shock the same thing happened we waited absolutely ages and then when they eventually turned up we were told we needed to vacate the table. We asked for the bill and 20 minutes later we are still sat there waiting for it. We went to the bar with our drinks as the lady said we could wait there. No one came and it was only when we got sick of waiting and wanted to leave and asked the waitress about our bill she looked confused and clearly hadn’t even remembered. She then got her manager who finally gave us the bill. It was an absolutely shocking visit and so disappointing. It’s not a cheap place and considering how much we spent I think it’s just not on. Unfortunately I would never go back or recommend.

Food ok albeit not great value, young staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing - had 6 of them serving us so half the time we had to explain to each one what we wanted but the worst thing was the ridiculously loud music where not only could we not hear each other but neither could the waiters! Definitely won’t go again and won’t recommend it to anyone.

One of our friends was turned away, and we have reason to believe it was because they were of Asian origin and this made us feel uncomfortable.

We arrived at the venue five minutes before our reservation, we got there and there were two security at the entrance. They were not the nicest but, honestly, it was not a big deal. We got inside after a few minutes. We had a booking for 3 guests, however, when we went to the reception, our booking was not on the system but we had the confirmation email, anyways, these things happen and sometimes it might event be an IT issue. Once we got inside, our third (my partner) guest called us - since he was running 5' late - that he was outside waiting since security would not let him in without his ID. So, I went outside to check what was going on. Wow, the level of disrespect and the condescending tone of your Team was unbelievable, moreover, we asked them why they would not let him in when they let me and my friend - both girls - in without ID. My partner is almost 30, so you can imagine he does not look like a kid. Nowhere on my confirmation email said that we had to bring our ID for a restaurant reservation. When he told the security that he had let us in without ID, at first he said that he wasnt there when we came in - which is not true by the ways -, and then he change his argument and say that ID check were random... wow. So, me and my friend we proceed to leave the restaurant since we are not going to leave my partner outside, before we leave I approach the manager and a waitress and advise that we are leaving because security would not let my partner in, he said that it was part of their policy to ask for ID. I then told him that they hadn't asked me, so what kind of irregular policy is this? Then he said: " They probably didn't ask you because they are gentlemen" . So, you let girls in without ID but not guys? Next time please mention to customers that male guests have to bring ID whereas ladies do not need to do so. This is unbelievable.

I’ve been there for lunch with my partner to celebrate my birthday, no one was at the door at it took a wile to the receptionist to understand that we were there. My partner tried to order a beer, the first server didn’t tell us which one were missing on the menu, so he need it to try 4 times before finally fine one that they actually had, server was just going and come back telling us “ we don’t have “. We order starter and main, main arrive first, a second server apologies for mistake and took it back. Starters were ok, nothing special. We order mussels and Cesar salad as main. Mussels arrive, were the one send it back just rehit. They were smelling really bad and the taste was even worse. Completely off, we told to our the second server, she apologies, she acknowledge the manager that just look at us without do nothing. We been waiting for the other main for 15 min before call again the server ( the second one as the first disappeared after she took our order ), she look at us confuse, they totally forgot about our other main. At the point I just asked for the check. The sever apologies, my partner told her that was disappointing as was my birthday as she just reply “ sorry you pick the wrong server today “ refer to the girl that took our order. We were totally shock, so inappropriate to say. Bill arrived, they removed the mussels but they let us pay the fries that should it be included with the mussels as was the only thing we had. Honestly I don’t know how this place can still be open. The Manager couldn’t care less, the server so untrained. I should check the reviews before go there.

I made a booking at Pergola on the Wharf as it looked amazing and fun for my friends special birthday lunch. We arrived yesterday and we didn’t even have a table as they seemed to have given our table away. They then had us stand in the restaurant whilst they spoke about where to put us. When seated we ordered a drink and they also took our food order. In less than 5 mins our food came out!! We had not even received our drinks let alone time to sip it or enjoy the surroundings! When we said this to the waitress she just glared at us and put the food down. We did ask for it to be taken away but she didn’t seem to understand our issue with the food arriving before our drinks had! Food was ok however we ordered sweet potato chips and were given truffle chips. Anyway we left after a very sad experience and even the security men said “wow you were fast” I said I’ve spent more time in McDonalds! You seem to cater for bottomless cheap brunch’s and don’t seem to care about other customers that have travelled to your establishment expecting a lovely experience when in fact we were in and out in 30 minutes. We won’t be returning, went to the Chiltern Firehouse after and had a far more pleasant experience. Very disappointing

No words to describe our experience last night. Queuing for ages even with a booking. Extremely rude security guard. Too loud to hear each other speak. No toilet roll. Average food. Spilt drinks. That said, our waitress was lovely. Avoid at all cost!

Avoid this terrible place at all cost. You have to queue to get in EVEN IF YOU HAVE BOOKED. The food is average. The service is awful with a wonky table. Toilets had no toilet paper. Really awful experience

Don't trust this business. Booked and paid deposit for new years just to get turned away at the door as they cancelled our booking with no notification or refund of moneys. Had to fight to get deposit back with threat of taking legal against them. Refund took ten days to finally get processed. Immoral and possibly illegal management . Stay away!

I can't even explain how bad of an experience we had. This place struggles to execute basic restaurant functions. Atrocious!!! Never again

Venue was decent. Plenty of space but food was doused in salt, regardless of which window you got it from. Price of drinks were mad even for London. On top of that the prices changed on the fly. You might order a drink say £12 half hour later the same drinks now £20, barman was called out on it and he openly admitted he’d charged for a double, when asked what the drink actually was he said it was a single so he was forced to pour another shot in the drink. I don’t know the price list but single rum and coke was 12.45. Probably would avoid in the future

Service appalling; had to wave over the staff many times just to order drinks and food. When we did order, half of the items we tried to have weren’t available. We weren’t told this and to say the menu is small as it is, there wasn’t much choice. Half of the food we did order never came and no one came to check if the food was ok. Overall really bad experience and way too overpriced for the service and the food.

Staff were sarcastic and honestly a little rude on multiple occasions. A female member of staff insulted one of our party and was unwelcoming. Really disappointing for the price.

Food was decent standard with a nice range and decent pricing for the location. Nice atmosphere, all the staff were lovely and everything was spotless (had seen complaints re cleanliness). Guessing there has been a big change in day to day operations as I would certainly recommend it!

We visited yesterday evening - the food was just horrible! It was extremely slow first of all, but once it arrived it was cold, dry and basically inedible. The manager was very nice, didn't seem at all surprised and without any resistance whatsoever got our food replaced and gave us a free bottle of Prosecco... she really tried and clearly has to do that on a very regular basis! The replacement food was at least hot, but it was disgusting - I have never in my life had a burrito with dry chicken dry cabbage and raw onion - no lettuce, no guacamole, no salsa, no rice, no beans - it did not resemble a burrito - it was some kind of weird very untasty wrap. My friend's chicken burger was worse! Oh and the bar had hardly any drinks - five beer taps were empty and we were offered a can of beer instead "but it hasn't been in the fridge" was how the bar staff offered it. Never ever go there!

Absolutely appalling. Visited for a friends birthday, waited 35 minutes for someone to take a drinks order then waited a further 20 minutes for our drinks. Food was shoddy, half of it had been sat on the side for quite some time before it was all brought over to us. Most of the food was cold and presented terribly. We were brought 2 bottles of Prosecco we ordered without any glasses, we had to ask for those separately. Cocktails were weak. We were met with eye rolls when we asked for sauces and water. We then asked for the bill and waited for 25 minutes for someone with a card reader, despite asking twice for someone to take our money. There appears to be a lot of management swanning about doing very little. Save your money, I would be very surprised if this place lasts another 6 months. Terrible.
