Perfect Oriental Food (Small Dragon) in Croydon

Food was absolutely terrible, I always take out their food, now portions are much smaller and the food had been warm to the microwave, definitely not fresh as sweet and sour chicken was extremely chewy. The food gone straight in the bin, I couldn't eat it. Terrible, never again.

A bad deliveroo order from this restaurant. The food was not up to standard. The sweet and sour Chicken balls were 97% batter, you were lucky to see any chicken - really poor. The salt and pepper chicken was the same story - tough to eat. Chow mein and fried rice were ok. Experience made a whole lot worse by the deliveroo driver turning up with 3 out of 12 dishes. The driver and restaurant blamed each other and I had to then drive to go and get the order myself, on the restaurants request. Was then called while driving to the restaurant to say they had got another deliveroo driver to come and get it, despite telling us to already come. A real shame. People at the restaurant apologised for the mix up to be fair to them, but nothing more offered.

I had been using the previous store owner from small dragons food for years, roughly 6 years and It was my all time favourite Chinese shop, it never went wrong and the owners were such lovely people, hence why I was devastated when they closed. I decided to try this new place out and I got a curry with rice, ribs, chips and my partner had his own separate meal, it was disgusting. The ribs were dry, fatty, tasteless, the chips were mushy and old, the rice was nasty and the curry was so watered down, when I put it on plate it rushed off the plate and burned my foot, it was genuinely the worst chinese I've ever had, my partner isn't fussy at all but even he couldn't stand the taste of it, we threw the whole thing away, it was just so unbearable, the curry definitely being the worst I'd never eat from them again, you're better off ordering on Uber Eats getting from Wa Yang Yang, now they know how to cook very nice food, I found it hard to change after small dragon had treated us so well, but their food is amazing

We used to enjoy regular takeouts from the previous owners. However, there are new people running it with a different name and menu. Unfortunately it was the worst Chinese we've ever had, and I don't say that lightly. Chicken balls were doughy, not crispy, with hardly any meat and overcooked like they'd been pre-fried, egg fried rice was very dark (our preference is white egg fried rice like the previous owners), chow mein didn't have that smoky flavour that you get from a seasoned wok, and beef in oyster sauce was very chewy, however the sauce was very good. Disappointed there were no Chinese leaves or pak choi on the menu also. We definitely won't be returning and cannot recommend.

Amazing value, the salt and pepper ribs, grilled dumplings and sweet and sour chicken were all exceptional. Great service too

Have to say, quite possibly the best Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had. The lady serving, I’m presuming the owner? Was lovely and very helpful, the crispy 🌶️ beef was outstanding! Working in the area for the next 6 months and will 💯 be back! 😋

Qe chose this take away as it was on our way while visiting our son in South Croydon And what a delightful surprise Freshly cooked and delicious food Prawn in black bean sauce dish was amazingly tasty Sweet and sour chicken , spring rolls, noodles and rice were all good. Food was not greasy yet tasty, right to our satisfaction. The decor on walls was a bit on dull side but nevertheless it was a clean shop We found staff very friendly We highly recommend this take away.

My go to place for Chinese.always hot and fresh. No complaints here!

I dont like to give bad reviews especially to small businesses but i have to say the food was not good at all. I did wonder if it was a bit too cheap and while i respect that, i would rather spend more for food i will actually eat. The salt and pepper chicken was mostly batter, if not all.

We had food collected from there today and it was delicious!!! We had 2 thai soups which were the best we had in a while, super flavoured, tasty, and the other dishes were perfectly cooked as well and very, very good. Everything was piping hot and tasted fresh!! I will definitely come back for more mouth watering dishes!

After numerous phone calls to the restaurant, my order arrived over 30 minute later than stated. When i queried this with the driver, his response and I quote " it takes as long as it takes" while shrugging his shoulders. I let him know at that point my order was over 30 minutes late, the food wasn't hot and his attitude stinks. I'll order from somewhere else..................The bag of food was left outside my home.

Marks lost on food quality, but if you really want to enjoy traditional chinese cuisine well don't look for fast take away and deliveries. The most important quality of the restaurant is that the food is safe, the environment is clean, don't read this wrong you are not supposed to eat in and there is no alocated space for that. The deliveries are done in good time? 40 mins to an hour. the waiting time for take out without an order in advance is 20 to 30 minutes. The menu is rediculously large with well over a 100 items repeating the same ingredients that are by no means fresh. The prices are fair and the staf, well cant say that they are friendly maybe due to a language barrier but they are not rude. The portions are large too.

I discovered this place by chance the food is good and prepared well not too expensive and close to where I live you can also order from just eat if you don't want to go out

Always order from here But the biggest problem is the days and times that is open Been ringing since 4:40 and not getting any answer as it says on the website that it is open at 4:30 everyday ?? UPDATE THE WEBSITES to what days you are open ? Please

Always delicious and tasty. Can be up to an hour's wait for delivery at busy times like Sat evening though. But always arrives nice and hot.

Very annoyed, ordered £60 of food for mothers birthday meal, had 7 guests waited for 45 mins for our order then was called and told they wouldn't be delivering it unless I paid by card, after resolving this issue he then said I'd have to wait another 45 mins for delivery. Manager was disrespectful an rude!!! Will not be going here again!!!!

For a small takeaway there is no excuse to be bulk cooking and microwaveing. Food that should present itself freshly turns up as mush. The flavours were authentic though. Delivery was prompt.
