Absolutely disgusting fish. Not fresh ,oily, tasteless. Chips were hard like a rocks.

went last week and it was excellent. 2 large pieces of fish each, golden crispy batter. Nicely cook chips and REAL soaked mushy peas, not out of a time. Lovely.

Advertised as fresh fish and chips?... absolutely no way! We had a wafer thin piece of absolutely tasteless fish, in a fat/grease drenched batter. The chips... well in fact the whole meal just tasted of dirty sodden oil.. absolutely dripping in fat. The whole place including the windows, the tables and chairs.. everything was covered in oil and greasy handprints. Who in the hell issued this place a 5* health and hygene rating!!!!??? £20 for two fish and one portion of chips (with 2 cans of drink) ... all the food had to go in the bin, then we had to head off to find somewhere else to eat. So disappointing that from this shop front we could literally throw a stone in to the harbour... and yet they serve us fish as poor a quality as that? Does anyone ever wonder why we have a nutritional/heart and obesity problem in this country when eateries are allowed to serve crap to customers like that?

I friends had traditional fish and chips... Staff was friendly and they got few seating area outside if you luck to get one.

Lovely fish chips, lost a star just due to tables outside being a little dirty, it's not a restaurant or a cafe really though, even though you can sit in or outside so guess you just clean your own table like I did. Fish was cooked beautiful, lovely and white inside also.

Food is nice and all, if a little expensive. But my god, does this place feel dirty. I don't know what it is. The floors, the general greasiness, the plastic seats... not sure but they really need to modernize this place.

Love this chippy you don't have to have a massive portion as they do a great kids size menu which is perfect for me as I don't eat much the food is so fresh the staff r always smiling and ready to help and the prices r fantastic considering the freshness and quality of the food best place to eat in newbrighton

Decent chips, sausage and chicken nuggets from here. Good to feeding hungry kids after being worn out on the fairground. We've been many times before, I'm likely to return 👍

What a delightful surprise. My last visit a few years back with my family left much to be desired regarding the food quality. However, today's experience was utterly different. I enjoyed lovely fish and chips, featuring a generous portion of fish with chips that were crispy and hearty. The service was pleasant, and witnessing your efforts cleaning an already immaculate looking establishment was pleasing. The staff was courteous and amiable towards my grandson. Continue on this path; you're doing a splendid job. This is my favourite place for fish and chips .. the guy who runs it is always really pleasant as are all the staff and I’ve never had rubbish chips or fish .. my only criticism would be .. the picture of the shop shut on their website needs to be removed it gives the wrong impression of the shop .. it looks awful… I’d replace it with a nice image of how it looks when it’s open

Just your standard old fashioned seaside chippy. The chips were nice at a reasonable price for the amount that you get. The staff are friendly enough and they sell crab bait which I used and it went down well with the crabs. Only downside is that they don't do beans.

Decent enough, chips nice and fish ok, batter a bit overdone in places. A but grubby in there, counter and condiments needed a good clean. £8.90 for fish and chips just a tad steep for it not being at least 90% there, however, it was ok and the chips were the best part.

Really lovely fish and chips by the sea, we spent a day in New Brighton going to the arcade and we thought we would have fish and chips for dinner, so glad we picked perch fish bar as the fish and chips were just amazing and the portion size was well over what we paid. Will definitely be visiting again

Good sized portion of chips, huge fish and a good dollop of peas. Only downside is that they only take cash.

Okay it's a chippy on new Brighton front... How good can it be. Well we have been a few times now and it's consistently good and hits the spot when you fancy a chippy tea. Fresh fish/chips, nice staff and some limited seating inside and outside. Limited menu, fish and chips, sausage and burgers.

Thought it was expensive when I first saw the price but we were given2 fish with loads of chips Fish and batter were beautiful . Definitely go again

I come here atleast once a week as I bring my client here when he wants to go to New Brighton as i am a P.A. and we always call in here for a sausage barm and a cup of tea 2 sugars. We always get service with a smile and the prices are quite reasonable.

Great Place, fish are big + plenty of Chips, we travel from Skelmersdale to here, we love it.

Average fish and chips with an easy and excellent location. Just a few steps from the New Brighton promenade. Very busy when the weather is nice. Normally free car park is available right around the chippy but on sunny days you might need to walk a lot to reach out here. Food: on our visit we ordered it wasn't busy, no queue. We ordered fish and chips with curry sauce. Fish was slightly undercooked (had no time to prepare it properly!?), chips was well undercooked. Curry sauce was nice. We ordered the food in English language. There was a little misunderstood what we ordered (ordered a can of curry) ang got a can of coke. I told them I haven't ordered coke, so they started to talk about this issue and about me in a foreign language - what is pretty rude! When I asked if everything was OK, thwy only said yes. And laughed again... Well... Yea, this is the reason of the service only deserves 1 star. Atmosphere: no customers but dirty, sticky tables. No need more details.

They were just closing, not at the advertised time. They close when they feel like it so ignore the times marked here. The chips were good, though.

Love this fish and chips place. Always come back here for food and brought other people here. Fish a decent size and usually share with partner. There is seating area inside and outside. Nothing better then fish and chips by the beach.

The best place for fish and chips you can't beat it! The price is a little steep though it was about 21 pound for 2 chips fish mushy peas 2 drinks and a carton of fruit curry. The curry is a must ! Enjoy guys

Absolutely disgusting would not be going back couldn’t get the orders correct and my little one now has diarrhoea after having chicken nuggets and chips. After being asked if we wanted salad on burgers and saying yes they never put any salad on and there was no taste to the food

If you're looking for linen napkins and silver service, this perhaps isn't the place for you, but if you're looking for superb fish and chips at a reasonable price, then pay it a visit. Pleasant and efficient staff. Have been eating here for a few years, and never been disappointed.

The cheeseburger had no lettuce tomato or onion, was just a patty and bun. Quite disappointing.

We always visit the Perch Fish Bar when visiting New Brighton. Their fish is always fresh, large and well cooked. Their chips are also excellent. Customer service is polite and friendly and the small café is clean but also very busy which indicates the popularity of the venue. Parking in the area is free, providing you can find a free space. We always recommend this venue to our friends.

I had fish chips and mushy peas today! The fish and chips was ok, but the mushy peas where cold! Obviously this spoilt the whole thing.

Love this place. Best fish and chips for miles around. Would highly recommend the curry sauce too, which is sweet rather than spicy. Pro tip: go late in the evening and you may get double fish!

Hot, freshly cooked tasty fish and chips. Not greasy. Ate it in the Edwardian prom shelter opposite on a raw Easter Monday evening. A lifesaver

Went in after a walk, asked for 3 large battered sausage for my family and was greeted with 3 teenage girls which where cussing behind the bar and ignorant to me politely asking for their attention (had to call 3 times before they turned around from looking around at their phones. On top of that, received the wrong change which isn’t that much of a deal when compared to the food poisoning me and my family are dealing with, as I am writing this. Do not recommend.

The boss of the local should train his staff or at least the 3 little girls to have some manners with their clients. They were laughing for all time while serving , no mask or gloves on, touching the money and after our forks not washing their hands or using sanitizer gel. Very poor hand hygiene for these girls and no respect at all with the clients. 👎

This is our go to chippy when in New Brighton. Really lovely, fresh chips, leaves the rest of the chippy's on the front in shame. I would highly recommend this fish bar. Everything is fresh and not re fried.

Went here with the kids as a day out to New Brighton. We were hungry so visited Perch Fish Bar for a chippy, the chicken nuggets and chips were delicious and filling portions. The staff were pleasant and friendly, it did get a little busy with it being half term but great for families visiting here, would definitely visit again as the prices were good

Called in here after a day in New Brighton and as we had eaten all our pre-packed food. I didn’t mind waiting a few minutes while a fresh batch of chips were being fried as I knew then, that the chips would be definite hand warmers. I paid £4.20 for two large portions of chips to take out, I thought the price was reasonable. The Fish Bar was quite busy and the counter assistant was polite and friendly. We sat in the shelter on the promenade to devour our hot treat. The Chips were lovely!
