Pepe's in Kirklees

I recently had a disappointing experience at Pepe's Batley that I feel needs to be shared. I ordered a Sweet and Sour Rice Box meal and two Piri Piri Rice boxes for collection, but when I arrived to pick up my order, I was shocked to find that only ONE mayonnaise tub was included for three boxes of food. I was honestly disgusted by this and felt it was completely unacceptable. When I asked the person at the till for additional sauces, their response was defensive, which only added to the frustration. I had to practically beg for more, and eventually, they handed me one more mayonnaise tub and two sweet chili tubs, which was not ideal. Other Pepe's locations I've been to typically give two sauce tubs per box, so this felt like a huge downgrade in service. The lack of basic customer service and the poor attitude of the staff was truly off-putting. Not to mention, the price I paid didn't seem to match the quality or quantity of food I received. It was honestly an embarrassing experience, and it's safe to say I won't be returning to this location. When a business makes you feel this way, it's hard to justify giving them your custom again

What's the point of making a time for collection if I arrive and they haven't even started making it?

Loads of staff but nobody manning the tills?

I've visited several branches of this chain and have always been impressed by the quality of the food, but unfortunately, this particular branch did not meet the usual standard. My chicken and rice meal was served with rice that didn't seem fresh, and the chicken was lacking flavor. To make matters worse, the fries were cold and clearly not reheated properly. It's disappointing to see such a difference in quality, especially when other branches consistently deliver great food. I won't be recommending this location to anyone based on this experience.

I have placed an order for chicken salad Wings and burger with chips All other branch pepes food is absolutely beautiful But this battley branch has gone so down interms of their food looks like staff don't want to work That they don't have ingredients which goes in there own recipe what a BIG SHAME ON PEPES NAME In my chicken salad they gave me wroten lettuce with chicken No cucumber no onion no tomatoes what type of salad is this i really want an answer from them. Rest of the food was cold and nasty in taste

Hygiene is a major problem Toilets don't look like they've been cleaned in months I visited not long after opening time and found the Toilets full of sick and all the surfaces were thick of grime. Staff were next to useless I like the food but after seeing how filthy the place was I won't go back to this branch again

atmosphere 10 service 8 time waiting for rice box meal 40 mins wait few cuatomers 3/10 food was awful and fries for a kids meal asked for mild and it was hot and value for money is higher than before overall rating 4-10 i will not visit again

I had ordered and collected 1 chick n rice and 1 chicken box from pepe batley today. Since I am a very loyal customer of pepe brand and I have tried these 2 more than 100 times from other stores of pepes but it was my 1st and last time with pepe batley as I recently moved to Morley. You have lost 1 extremely loyal customer today. Chicken box was ok but the rice of chick n rice was terrible it had a terrible smell and taste making my husband feel like it’s rice is 2-3 days old and is not suitable for eating , he hardly had 2 bites and then we ended up throwing it into dustbin. It’s not about the 14 pound I spent today but it’s about the trust that people have placed in your food and consuming it with trust that it is not bad for their health. Requesting the brand to audit if this Frenchise is following the SOPs or tarnishing their brand reputation 🙌

One of the best Pepe's I've been to! The restaurant is very spacious & clean even the washroom was spotless. Ordered the chicken burrito meal extreme which came with a side of peri fries & a drink. Food was ready in 10min & was well made, the chicken was grilled to perfection & the lady that served put extra extreme sauce in the burrito just like I asked. Banging food with a great service!

The staff are super rude. The young lad with the glasses is so rude it's actually unbelievable. How can a human being be so rude, zero etiquette, no please no thank you. You need to really re-consider having this robot as the face of your business and weigh up the damage his service will be and is causing your business. Only explanation for his attitude and lack of energy could be he is there being told to work against his will or has been trafficked into the country by criminals and is being taken advantage of.

Truly disgraceful Ordered a burger meal (along with some other food) and after asking for no lettuce or mayo, I saw them scrape the lettuce and mayo off with a knife, scrape the knife along an open bin, then put the knife back on the food prep area. Won't be going here again....

Went in today after placing a phone order at 17:25pm and I asked for the food to be ready for 18:05pm which is fair considering I gave them 40 minutes to prepare the food and have it ready but I went in at 18:10pm and it still wasn’t ready and I got told to wait another 10 minutes I wasn’t happy about this so I went out and waited. I came back into the shop and I wasn’t acknowledged and then I had to wait another 10 minutes again absolutely shocking service the food was terrible I asked for it to be well done but it literally came out the steamer and onto the grill for about 10 seconds and straight into the sauce and then after that they looked confused and all over the place no coordination whatsoever absolute amateurs they move like zombies I suggest they hire new staff that know what they doing instead of these imbeciles running this establishment into the ground!!!

4 star, Food is great here. But on my last visit, I waited almost 30 minutes after phoning up too! This was really bad, but the food was fresh and tasty. The staff could have done with some training I guess.

We visited the place a few days back on a weekend and did not have a pleasant experience. The place seemed empty even after 4 hours of opening time ( as per Google) and we enquired whether the place was actually open or not before entering inside. We got in and had to wait long for the person at the counter to take our orders. Though we got the ordered food without much delay, we found a hair in the Rice box. We immediately reported it to the same guy who took our orders. But he acted quite defensively and was not initially ready to replace it. Later, we were given a replacement with a Burrito but that tasted awful. We had also ordered a burger and the chicken fillet inside was poorly cooked. I don't think that we are going back to that place again.

Food is bang on always come here for food. Service is very poor always come in and there is no one front house always round the back I have to shout for them to get served and the staff could do with smile on there apart from that food is always good.

Honestly, never answer their phones. Food always hard and chewy even after complaining they don’t care especially the guy who answers has no manners and no customer service skill. AVOID at all cost not worth giving. A lot of better places in Batley to eat from with better care

Visited peak lunch time (the fact that it was totally empty should have given it away), when we went to the fron to try and order..all we got was grunts from the woman behind the counter, and she just kept banging her hand down on the menu. Then whhen I went to pay, she slams the card machine down in front of me and taps the machine (its not like they were run off their feet..its no exaggeration when I say it was totally empty). We eventually got the food and got it home, the chicken was overdone and hard as rock both in my pitta and my hubbys burger. If they cant get food right when they are literally not cooking for anyone else..U can only imagine what state the food would be in if they had to cook for more people. They dont know the meaning of service and definitely cant deliver on the food. Dont waste your money!!

Me and my work colleague have been here on our lunch on a few occasions now such is the quality of the food. We had the chicken with Peri-Rice and it was very good - one of them where I don't want to order anything else just in case I miss out on this dish. Highly recommended.

Omg. Thinnest chicken fillet in the burger and in pitta I've ever had in my life. Crazy for what you pay is pending. The"hot" was more very mild. Very greasy oily chips. I was still not full after the 2 chicken fillet burger and pitta meals for £13 , over double to KFC! Had " no tissue" but was blue tissue layer I saw above the fulled up bin not emptied all day! At least the till person was courtesy with help, please, thank you and can smile ( rarity in this area). Clean dining area but free places to sit. Toilet was hmm okish. Drier wasn't not working! I don't recommend. bromy branch is best in UK. This is worst. Better go to KFC for double burger meal and really get filled up!

I was blown away by the freshness and flavor of the food from Pepe's Piri Piri Batley. The delivery service was excellent and my food arrived perfectly cooked.

When we arrived there was one family Infront of us when we ordered. We placed our order for two adult meals and one kids meal to be told it would be a 15 minute wait. I presume the wait was so that the girl at the back of the kitchen could finish texting her mates. 15 minutes passed and I went to collect the order given the 15 minute wait I expected freshly cooked food but instead I was given microwaves rice that was stuck together in clumps, reheated chicken that was tough as leather and cold chips. If I were you I'd go somewhere else because it wasn't worth the money or the wait. Won't be coming back and won't be recommending to anyone.

Large store with seating availability. Found the quality of food average (Chicken XL), definitely tasted better in the Leicester branch. Burger was dry and lukewarm despite being fresh and having to wait 10 minutes or so? fries were ok. Much prefer HFC around the corner at better prices.
