Pepe Rosso in Watford

Enjoy a nice meal with a great deal for a two-course set lunch on weekdays. I ordered an appetizer along with a pizza, which was the size of a main course. For the main course, I ordered lasagna.

I took my mother here for a mothers day dinner. We had such delicious food! I highly recommend the Pepe Rosso Grill! The grilled chicken is to die for! The restaurant was clean and aesthetically pleasing. The staff were absolutely wonderful. Very Friendly ! We will all definitely be back ❤️

Really lovely Bolognase, good service every time.

I had the garlic bread with mozzarella to start, which was quite tasteless. We ordered cocktails, they arrived after the starter but were very well presented and tasty. We weren't offered water for the table. Our mains were pasta and tasted ok, nothing special flavour or presentation wise, but the food doesn't look like the photos on Google at all. For the atmosphere, the restaurant was pretty dead, which drew our attention to the alternating bad club music and Spotify premium adverts. I've never been to a restaurant that forces its guests to listen to adverts...

We popped in here on a Saturday afternoon having been let down by another local business, and the staff were happy to cater for a group of 10 without any fuss. I must mention this was also impressive due to it being 2:00 pm on a match day in Watford. The food came out with no issues, everything came together and had not been sitting around - again impressive with a large group. The food was of very good quality and very good portions. Staff were very friendly, and the cost was very reasonable considering the current climate. Even a glass of white wine was only £6.25 and it was a nice glass of vino for house white. Overall, really really impressed to have discovered this lovely little gold-mine. We will definitely be returning and would recommend anyone to give this little place a try, there’s not many places that give good food portions of very good quality at a reasonable price.

Really superb and unexpected gem in the heart of Watford. Service and food both excellent. Feels like a traditional Italian restaurant that was genuinely pleased to see us and also reasonably priced. Strongly recommended.

This time we were having lunch, with three 3 year old toddlers and they were happy singing. It's worth remembering that we arrived at the restaurant at 2:30pm, it wasn't rush hour and the place was quite empty. A man, a waiter, who works there, said to be the manager, came to our table to draw our attention because our children were making a lot of noise and they were not normal. They are 3-year-old toddlers and if the restaurant does not accept them, it should be communicated to us at the entrance, children at that age are noisy and that is why we avoid peak hours. He then told us that NORMAL CHILDREN were accepted. Until now we are asking ourselves what he meant by that. But we are sure of one thing, that we will never set foot in this restaurant again. Also the food wasn't great this time.

Good quality food at a very reasonable price. Service could be improved and a bit more welcoming. We haven’t tried the cocktails but they looked very good. Good spot for a date in a quiet environment Picture is the calzone

My favourite restaurant in Watford. I am visiting every week and it always tastes good: Penne dela Casa, mocktails, pizzas and pollo alla crema. The staff is always so nice and interior design so modern. Definitely recommend.

The staff are lovely and very helpful. The food was amazing. The restaurant itself is spotless. The glasses were polished to perfection, the table was lovely, great menu with plenty of choices, probably one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to.

Peperosso is a local gem and it has been a cornerstone of Watford for a long time. The staff is friendly, the owner is always around and helpful. They recently redecorated, and it is fair to say it feels fancier with the new look and the cocktails. I usually go with the Lamb Shank, which is delicious, or choose one of the crispy pizzas.

I came this lovely Italian restaurant with my friends last night for dinner and everything was absolutely amazing.Service was excellent , food came on time.All we choose pizzas to share ( We wanted to try all of them ).Also it was so kind they celebrated my friend’s birthday with a slice of cake.We will be definitely coming back.

What a little gem this place is! A great choice of food, super flavours, nice atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. I had pizza, Mum has Angus burger and both were delicious. Do visit when you're in Watford next.

Lunch with my son whilst in Watford. Cafe was empty- unusual for a busy Thursday lunchtime. I ordered Pepe Rosso salad which is cooked chicken and goats cheese. I sent it back as the chicken looked pre-cooked and reheated but was not hot, only luke warm. My son had chicken arrabiata- cooked chicken in a tomato sauce. His chicken was also luke warm but he chose to eat it. Today he is ill with food poisoning- hot sweats and a very bad stomache. It has spoilt our day totally! The chef obviously does not understand about the need to fully reheat meat- especially chicken. The restaurant manager does get some credit for changing my meal to avocado and grilled halloumi salad, without hesitation and the waitress was nice but I will NEVER eat here again. Suggest they change their chef immediately before they go bust!

We had some time to kill before our train and decided to stop there for dinner. What a great decision that was. Food was fresh and super tasty, very reasonably priced and our waiter was super friendly and helpful. I’d definitely visit again if I’m ever in Watford again.

I happened to go to this restaurant because it was close to my accommodation. It was a famous restaurant visited by Angelina Jolie and the royal family. The taste is delicious, but the portion is generous. One menu for two people It is an appropriate amount to eat. We ordered one pizza per person and couldn't finish it all. If you are near Anantara Resort, you should go there once. I highly recommend the seafood tomato spaghetti.

Came here for food before the football. Food was good, place seemed really popular and the prices were reasonable.

I would rate 5 star as I have enjoyed the lunch with wine , lasagne and garlic bread with mozzarella cheese .

This restaurant is a favourite for my family, the service is generally second to none and the food of good quality. Sadly on this occasion, I was very disappointed. It started with the front door left open - which i closed once! The sharp breeze wasn't the best, the wait staff were not very engaging and clearly my spilt red wine had not been wiped up before serving. The salads and wrap were great, the grilled chicken was dry only improved by the spicy sauce and the pizza with fresh base of excellent quality. But and this was a big but, the 60 second continual "beep" of a smoke alarm throughout our dining experience was awful....no attempt was made to - stop it or apologise for it. Next visit I hope the restaurant "beep" will be back to normal, the enviroment really brought down "beep" our experience.

A beautifully, quaint Italian restaurant! We decided after looking at the positive reviews to try as it was my daughters birthday. The two waiters who served us were polite, with prompt service and always with a smile. The food was delicious, excellent quality, and all homemade. I would recommend to anyone visiting Watford to try here. My only issue was they had run out of puddings, but that also tells me they've been extremely busy throughout the day, and it's not hard to see why.

Visited around 6 on a Thurs, initially the only 2 in. Usual Italian menu. Food freshly prepared. Penne del cassa - I thought too rich for me, sauce abit clagg and penne diavalo - that was lovely and not too spicy, maybe I should have opted for a tomato and not cream sauce. 2 hse white wines. Then we waited around 30 mins - we weren't in a hurry but restaurant wasn't busy - for coffee/ desert. Had to go to the waiter myself, without the menu we ordered tiramisu only to discover it was finished. Opted for ice cream, we meant 2 scoops for 1 person but it came as 1 scoop each which was ok. The ice cream had a few ice crystals in and wasn't up to much then 2 cappuccino = £51 which included the service charge automatically applied by the restaurant.

Restaurant selected at random. Pleasantly surprised by the presentation of the dishes and the quantity. It was good, simple and effective. The service is discreet and fast which is appreciated. The only downside is that the Halloumi salad sauce is in small sachets next to the ketchup and mayonnaise.

Went with a group of 9 other people for a birthday celebration the other day. The decor inside is lovely, the servers warm and friendly. The food was fantastic! The most delicious penne arabiatta I've had and the vegetariana pizza was scrumptious, to say the least. 10/10 would recommend

I just had a long tiring shift at work and I didn't fancy cooking dinner so I went to pepe Rosso, they are always welcoming and seem happy to see everyone. The food was gorgeous as always but the pizza I had was quite soggy in the centre. Other than that I loved my meal and my all time favourite TRIPLE chocolate brownie.

Totally disgusted by the attitude of the owner towards autism.... No wonder its the only empty restaurant in Watford. Such a shame... It used to be amazing... but now is a joke

We went there for our daughter's birthday, because I mentioned it was her 18th, they sang happy birthday and gave her cake. The food was amazing and so we're the cocktails. Would recommend anyone to go there, we will come again when we are in Watford.

Nice little restaurant we have visited twice now, first time because the seemingly more popular pizza express couldn't seat us at short notice...lucky for us as it turned out. Nice selection of dishes, pizzas and pastas enioyed very much by my friends and I. Both times it was an early dinner hence atmos score, likely better later...

Had lunch and dinner at Pepe Rosso a few times and it never let me down. The serving is prompt, I could always find a table even on weekend evenings when other restaurants in Watford town centre were fully booked. The food is tasty and comes in large portions (the starters as well). I love the omelette there, although I can never finish it up as the course is on the large side! It’s about £11 and comes with plenty of salad and fries. Lovely Italian music playing in the background. It’s a lovely place where you can eat well at decent prices and enjoy a glass of wine also decently priced compared to other restaurants in Watford where you can pay double for sometimes a smaller glass of wine.

This place is amazing, the service was quick and perfect from our waiter, the food tasted great and came really fast! The overall vibe is really relaxed. We will be returning!

A little gem! We were staying in Watford for the Harry Potter Tour. We needed somewhere family friendly for dinner and came across this restaurant. The restaurant itself was clean and comfortable. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was fabulous, really tasty and fresh. We had starters, pizza and pasta and found all of it to be delicious! The restaurant also offers a good selection of drinks including cocktails and mock tails. We throughly enjoyed our meal and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. If we are in the area again we will certainly be returning. First class!

Rather tasteless, tons of unnecessary cheese, and salad. None of our party enjoyed the food. And they added 10% tip without asking. Going to pizza express opposite next time

Came here today and what a pleasant surprise, we ordered a sea food linguini and a ceaser salad and they were both very tasty. We didn’t realise they served cocktails but after seeing a few being made we thought we would try a porn star martini and a rum one ( can’t remember the name of that one but they was both delicious. Totally recommend a visit here. Service is excellent and food very very good 😊

I come to this lovely restaurant every Thursday for lunch with my mum and bring my 2 daughters when they have free time. All the staff are very friendly, they have got to know us, they remember what our favourite foods and drinks are. The restaurant is clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The food is tasty and fantastic portion sizes. Service is always with a smile and very speedy, they go out of their way to welcome you and ensure you are looked after. Can't fault this place.

Food is generally good, prices are quite reasonable as well. Nice dining experience however there was a 10% service charge automatically added to my bill which I did not see at the time of paying and only noticed after. A service charge should not be automatically added to my bill it should be up to my discretion to give a tip or not.

Abundant choice! I ordered two lunch set and one starter. All were delicious with good service. That day when I left watford, I thought I lost my invisible braces in there, and I called restaurant to try to find it. They helped me to find it bin immediately. We came to celebrate the 65th wedding anniversary of my dear auntie and Uncle who had come from Nigeria to Celebrate this God-given gift with their children. The restaurant staff on duty on 5/1/23 were was so patient with us as we kept changing our Booking time due to difficulties getting all family to come together on time especially on a work AND train strike day! Anyway the resturant service was friendly attentive and sensitive towards the needs of the Senior couple. The food was awesome as it was extremely cost and portion size friendly, brought out on yime and most of all it was delicious. No one complained except maybe my 19 year old niece said the chips were not all that. But otherwise Everyone else enjoyed their food and my neice actually enjoyed her margarita pizza. I had the caramelised goats cheese pizza so I can easily say that the pizza is awesome. Really the best I've tasted for many years. It's just a pity Pepe Rosso are not a chain so I can't order locally as I don't live in Watford......boohoo!

Grrat atmosphere and friendly staff. We were on the lookout for an itanian plave in Watford and I am glad we found this one. The SeaFood Pasta is amazing , honestly. I do like seafood, but I was never a fan of scallops, but this might have been the first time I really enjoy eating each one of them. Their mocktails were also delicious, a great accompaniment to the food. I had their Flirtinini and I would love to get it again, from the looks to the flavours it was perfect. Would go again for sure 4.8⭐️
