My mother got me a 40th birthday cake made for a surprise for my 40th I can honestly say it was the best looking and nicest cake I have ever had it was stunning thankyou so much.

Fabulous, delicious cake. Beautifully decorated and covered in butter icing. The three tier lemon flavoured sponge was so moist. Thank you.

We went for a breakfast one Saturday morning & had a couple of lovely breakfast cobs, however the real show stopper were the brownies we bought from here. Some of the absolute best we’ve ever had. Will definitely be going back again!

We had a fabulous Sunday Lunch prepared by Peony & served at The Old Oak Inn. We had a warm welcome & there was a good atmosphere. Service was 100%, staff very efficient & pleasant. The food was certainly what I expect from Peony Sunday lunches & it was nice to eat out with a glass of wine instead of eating it at home. Well done-great idea & we look forward to the next one! Boeuf Bourguignon was lovely & the Bakewell Tart with clotted cream too. The others had roast pork which they highly recommend too.

Been meaning to review for a while, had numerous cakes from here for birthdays which are always amazing and so moist! They go above and beyond on cake front. We booked afternoon tea for my “baby shower” again faultless, so much food and such reasonable prices. We all ended up taking cakes and sandwiches home as there was that much food. Will return again and again 😊

We enjoy the food and coffee but the service is always standoffish which makes us goes else where most the time. It's a shame because we would go more often if the welcome was warmer from the owner.

Didn’t found our recent visit to peony a pleasant one. Staff seem uninterested and the only cake options were brownies goozing with rubbish. Chairs sticky and floor dirty, just not a nice environment.

Visited with a friend for a treat for her birthday. Wasn't impressed at all. The staff weren't friendly and left us waiting for a table without even acknowledging us. The tables and chairs felt sticky. The food was uninspiring. We weren't asked if we had any preference for sandwich fillings, there was no crisps or pork pie, sausage roll etc. that u normally get with afternoon tea. The scones were nice but the other cakes quite boring. All in all not a good experience won't be returning.

We ordered 2 Mother's Day Afternoon Teas and 1 Afternoon tea for one. Really easy to order and helpful with special request. We collected and all were beautifully packaged. The Mother's Day ones had a little bow attached, which was a nice touch. They came with a plant and balloon, which I have never seen done anywhere else. We delivered them and were later contacted to say how nice they were. The sandwiches moist, salad fresh and cakes packed with flavour. We were so delighted with the phones calls and had to leave a review immediately. Well done to all involved! A super treat!! Thank you.

It’s been some time since I last reviewed Peony but I thought it worth a second review since it’s so long ago and I’ve so much more to say. Peony is an absolute gem for our little village. First of all, the welcome you get each and every time you visit is priceless. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble - always going above and beyond. The food - the homely Sunday lunches, hearty breakfasts, and the tempting treats are to die for. They’ve produced a number of wonderful cakes for special occasions for us and I cannot fault them on that side either. Whether you’re passing by - grabbing a coffee and cake or dining in for a champagne afternoon tea… Peony simply HAS IT ALL ! Never change - you’re all doing a wonderful job :) … * I must also point out that they’re great for food intolerances and have never had a single problem (GF DF Ve).

I ordered a Birthday Cake for my daughter from here, using the online ordering facility. I would just like to say the Cake was amazing. The quality of the cake, its decoration and the taste was amazing. I will definitely be ordering cakes from this provider again. 😊

I got in touch with Peony on Instagram as I was organising a wedding breakfast for my friends wedding. Taking into account the dietary needs of the group I needed a vegan and gluten-free breakfast something easy to grab while we were getting ready. Peony got back to me quickly with suggestions and they were actually the only people locally who said that they could help. We had a delicious breakfast delivered to our venue on the morning of the wedding. Along with plates, knives & forks and napkins. Breakfast included: Vegan Banana muffins Gluten free Blueberry muffins Vegan croissants Gluten free croissants Fresh fruit skewers Vegan and gluten free yoghurt, fruit compote and nutty granola Gluten Free and vegan Avocado and tomato Bruschetta. I ordered a Box of Treats - one evening and they were delivered the next day. What a very professional service - Treats - presentation was very good and the Treats were 'delicious' I am told by the Recipitants. I can certainly recommend The Treats - having received some myself previously. Good to see a local small business - adapt successfully during the Lockdown - by serving a variety of different Fayre - and the Birthday Cakes look absolutely delicious.

We received a box of 'Postal Treats' consisting of a selection of 4 Tray Bakes via Royal Mail as a gift - a lovely surprise on a very wet, dull January day. The portions of tray bakes are very generous - easily cut into 2 - they all taste delicious - Millionaire Shortbread , Rocky Road, Brownie Malteser, etc would recommend any of them. The package was well packed , and the contents well packed and presented with a colourful gift card. Certainly recommend the Treats.

What a super service, ordered lunch, which was lovely, slightly wrong order, but a lovely gesture of a refund and some extra special Xmas treats delivered, which went above and beyond! Highly recommend the cakes and the sizes are huge! Thanks again highly recommended
