Pentland View in West Lothian

I got married here in April 2022, from the first meeting Stuart couldn't have been more helpful, we asked for some last minute amends to meals, no issue, there were spare meals on the day due to people not turning up and he dished them out much to my Grandad's delight who put away 6 courses in the end! We also had two guests who were vegan and again, not an issue. We had so many compliments on the food, it was absolutely delicious. We had Razmataz occasions doing the decor/running the day- Andy and Stuart work like a dream team - our day was absolutely perfect. With the two of them in charge, it felt like an expensive hotel wedding but at a fraction of the cost. We were fortunate enough for the weather to be nice so we were able to get out onto the golf course for pictures, Stuart got us a couple of buggies and took us round. The golfers were so kind to let us disturb a couple of their games to let us take pictures. A great venue, with beautiful surroundings and a fantastic team.

Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend Pentland View at Pumpherston Golf Club for wedding services! Stuart was full of false promises! Without going into to much detail we did try and contact to have our complaints resolved however we were replied with pathetic excuses. We were double booked and had to change our date (we did choose to do this), but we were suppose to receive complimentary Prosecco because of this and unfortunately we were charged and had to request a refund that we thankfully did get back. We were refused access to the members bar after we were told we would be allowed to use, because of this we had to stand in the foyer where we had to request chairs for our guests that were brought out and left in a stack and had to again ask for them to be unstacked. Stuart asked us if we would like the golf buggies to take us to the pond for photos that we greatly appreciated but unfortunately they were running 10 minutes late, so we walked over hoping they would be ready to take us back by the time we got there but Stuart cancelled them without communicating with us if we still wanted them. Upon booking Stuart mentioned that the hall holds 120 but that they have had 150 guests before, so naturally we invited up to that number as why else would this be mentioned if this was not allowed🤷🏼‍♀️. I was then threatened on the phone just over 1 week to go (after we paid out full balance) that if more that 126 (our final numbers) were to show up they would be refused entry and if the bar staff could not keep up with demand they would CANCEL our wedding and SEND US HOME. This resulted in having 2 men on the door counting our guests like bouncers at a night club. A member of the bar staff phoned a family member not attending the wedding to ask questions about one of my guests to ask if she was of legal age to order drinks at the bar after she refused her and came up to her table threatening to throw her out. (I understand they have a law to follow and have the right to refuse anyone alcohol who is under age or may be buying for someone under age) but there was no reason to phone anyone asking questions about any of our guests attending, just refuse to serve them and leave it at that. As mentioned above we were unfortunately just replied to with excuses and no sincere apology. Sadly this caused us a lot of unnecessary stress and will always be remembered. I understand things happen and mistakes are made however there was no responsibility taken with just excuses and pointing the blame else where. I will sadly always remember how we were treated and how this effected our day.

I don't normally frequent golf clubs however my mum suggested we visit here for lunch. As the name suggests the restaurant provided great views across the course to the Pentlands beyond. The food was decent, particularly my soup starter and apple crumble dessert. The service was on the slow side although the staff were pleasant enough. I'd consider visiting again.

Had a fabulous lunch today. Food was delicious, portions large, service amazing and covid safe in the entire building. Can't wait to come back

First time here and wouldnt be our last but came here as dad wanted to treat us and we didnt want to go anywhere expensive that day. Looked online and called and left a message and the following day I was called back and booked the table. Dad is disabled and was great to see that they have a lift to the first floor where the restaurant is and disabled parking and beautifully put together club house. No... we are not members but dine out a lot when we visit my parents. The location is stunning and the view from the table was breathtaking. Given that mum has altzeimers it helped as she was able to watch all that was going on. The menu with two courses for £10 is a great selling point for those who have small appetites or like mum and dad eat less . Dad for his treat when we are there had two doubles with lemonade and a guinness ( can not draft £2.20?) £10.50 for two doubles. Wine was Sauvignon blanc times 3 and soft drinks for mum and I. So soup for mum and it was lentil and it was delicious and fish and chips for mum at £5 but it was some size and tasty and she loved the peas. Dad had the fish and chips and what a feed so plenty on the plate and was going to have a dessert but was full after the main .The two for ten was amended for dad making the bill lower . However on to the good things The lentil soup was delicious served with a hot roll and butter The fish for mum and dad was freshly cooked and piping hot and never seen mum so excited about peas for a long time. Dad loves fresh fish and crispy batter and it was exactly how he wanted it. Me I thought try something different and had the sausage and mash potato with peas, Mum was correct the peas were really tasty. Hubby had the Pate and Crostini and was tasty but would have preferred melba toast or just fresh french bread. Very smooth and tasty . The creme de la creme ( sorry no circumflex en francais) the homemade mac and cheese ......hubby's main course was the very very best he has tasted in a while. Now that's saying something when he compliments mac and cheese and the garlic bread was very tasty. All in All a lovely lunch with my parents and dad has not frequented many golf clubs but lives local but he felt that he was eating somewhere classy. The service was first class with the lady who served us and the gentleman. He made us feel very special. The COVID 19 measures where second to none and track and trace too. Amazing location and to dine out with a spectacular view across the golf course who could ask for more? Thank you guys hope to visit again soon for a table for two.

Came here with my parents for lunch. Has great access for my elderly father (lift). They have a special menu of 2 courses for £10 and lovely views of the golf course and the Pentlands. Food was lovely ( I had the pate of the day and chicken mayo baked potato and maybe a little bit of my mother's Eton mess) and I would highly recommend anyone to pop in (or book a table). Staff where friendly (tempting me with a trifle) and helpful.

Friends took me here for lunch. We were all very impressed with the service, welcome and food. Also choice on menu is excellent. One of my friend's had gammon steak, my other friend had haddock and I had the home made steak pie. The presentation was also very good. All the menu is very reasonably priced. Portion sizes and temperature of food also great. Would thoroughly recommend this venue. Will definitely be back.

A huge thank you to the Pentland View Restaurant and Pumpherston Golf Club. We had a family meal at the restaurant on the Friday night and then held a family birthday party at the Golf Club on the Sunday afternoon. The food and service were excellent. Both venues went above and beyond, and exceeded all of our expectations. We can not recommend them highly enough. If you are looking for fantastic home-made food with a great service to match then this is the place. Thanks again.

Wee popped along here last Wednesday about 6 pm to try it as wee heard alot about it for dinner and got to say it was a lovely meal with a nice couple glasses of wine food was great very much injoyed it staff where friendly n helpfully it's open all day from breakfast to dinner they allso do a high tea too they reasonable prices it sites in within the pumpherston golf club so there is a nice veiw too I wood recommend going along to vist and gave a bite to eat

Really excellent breakfast. We had the 5 items, 8 items breakfast and a toastie with soup. Really superb sausages and the scramble eggs are superb. My wife mentioned that the soup was really good as well. With great golf course views is an excellent choice for breakfast. Highly recommended.

Excellent value for money. Went with my sister, brother and mum. £20 for a 3 course meal and mums meal was free when my siblings and I paid for ours. Panko coated brie to start was excellent, chicken balmoral for main also, sticky toffee pudding dessert was superb. Recommended.

I ate @ Pentland View twice last month, both Christmas lunches, both excellent!Excellent food, excellent choice and value, pleasant helpful staff.

I had booked this place for 8 of my family and I couldn’t make the dinner as my job means i have to go at a moments notice i was saddend to find out that my partner did not get given the opportunity to take my dinner away or given a refund the place we booked last year gave my partner my dinner to take home which was really nice i cant see me giving my business to this place again as xmas dinner is expensive and even giving me the dinner or a refund would have been good sadly i got neither

This is definitely the best restaurant in West Lothian for great quality food & value for money! We had our wedding reception here in May just after they first opened & they totally went above & beyond to make sure our day was absolutely perfect. We have since been up twice in the last couple of weeks for birthday meals & both times the service & food have been excellent, so much so that we’ve booked again for my parent wedding anniversary in December & both my children want to come here for their birthday meals, in fact my 6 year old son asked me tonight if we could go everyday because he loves it that much!! Definitely worth a visit, you will not be disappointed

Excellent , delicious food relaxed atmosphere and the staff were so friendly , very attentive and helpful.Even found out they are Slimming World friendly which is a great idea . Definitely be back . Highly recimmended x

We're always looking for new restaurants to try and this one is a keeper. The menu is fairly extensive, the food is really good and the price is very reasonable. All this plus the excellent friendly service and you know that another visit will soon be on the cards.

Visited on Saturday night with hubby & a couple of friends. Had a lovely night & a fantastic treat with supper club menu. Each course was delicious & superbly presented! (Forgot to take pictures!) Fantastic value & definitely a worth a visit again next time around!

Just back from a delicious meal earlier this evening. The fabulous, high quality food coupled with a scenic view overlooking the 10th hole made for a most enjoyable time. Mum loved her generous portion of sausage and mash and I thoroughly enjoyed the chef’s tasty steak pie. Special thanks to the staff for being so welcoming and friendly. Keep up the great work, we’ll be spreading the word and we very much look forward to visiting again soon �

Went for dinner on Saturday Food excellent & great value for money Sister in law visiting from Canada & has been having haggis repeatedly over her 2 week visit & she said the haggis bon bons here were the best she had had. Really nice ambiance & view Fresh flowers on tables was nice touch

Went here for a late lunch , myself and 2 kids, all meals were fantastic and the staff were awesome! Will definitely be returning on a regular basis!

Popped into the pentland view as heard that the restaurant was making some good meals and great customer service and I they weren't wrong the service on arrival was amazing and then the food arrived and it was excellent. I would recommend it as must try.

Came here with my fiancée for date night and honestly can’t fault the place, I had the burger with bacon and cheese and was so tasty and juicy my partner had the steak pie (it smelt so good I had to steal a bit and WOW it was amazing) we were served by a very pleasant and friendly young girl, the service was fantastic as well with full table service, will be back very soon

Popped in here on a friend's recommendation as he had been to a funeral here and he said the food was awesome well he was not wrong it truly was to die for we went as a family of 6 on Sunday and they do the best Sunday roast beef and chicken ive ever had and the kids loved it too (and that's saying something) I dont normaly write review's but i felt this place really deserved one I will definitely be back over and over im sure.

My good lady and I decided to try this based on a recommendation. It certainly didn’t disappoint with some fantastic food and great service. I had the burger with some additional toppings and my good lady had the sausage and mash. Both were delicious and we couldn’t fault the service. It didn’t break the bank either, so a successful visit I’d say.... result.

Food top quality, price amazing value and the staff so friendly and helpful. Will defo be trying out the theme night especially the Mexican

Went her with the family a it has just been taken over and it was excellent the food was faultless as was the service its extremely good value three people ate for 35 pounds for 2 courses and everyone we spoe to that was in the restaurant was loving there experience as well will definitely be back as there als doing theme nights so I will begiving them a try next I'm sure I cant recommend this place enough

Had a great lunch here with the family ,food was so tasty and fresh,Will be trying the steak night next time we are in the area ,staff great as well.

Highly recommended - food and service is excellent, with sensible pricing. The bonus is that the drinks are at club prices so really cheap compared to other pubs or restaurants.

A squad of us took over a table and went full hog with the eating. All i can say as new caterers to the golfy they have raised the bar. Well done and the menus are top notch. U wont be disappointed here
