Chips mushy peas and gravy .chips are rock hard and the peas have texture of peas left out for a few days . Expensive and awful

Absolutely delicious meal, the service was great and so was the food. I would definitely come again, and it was a great way to end my day.

I ordered Cod, Mushy Peas and Potato Fritter ............. Oh my goodness the best fish supper I've tasted for a very long time. It was delivered piping hot A M A Z I N G !!!!! Will definitely use again xx Maybe every week 🤤🤤

Golden chips in a heaving portion, fish the size of whales ...um...thats made me hungry now I'm off to Penkhull Chippy....oh and a large peas too!

It's hard to find a good chippy these days. This is the best I've had in Newcastle and Stoke for a long time. I ordered sausage, regular chips, and curry via Uber Eats at 7.15pm. I was a little concerned the food would be luke warm when it was delivered. Everything was as hot as if I went to the chippy myself. Request for scraps was followed and given the temperature they were cooked to order. Portion of chips and scraps was huge - big enough for 2 people. Bonus points for wrapping everything in paper. Any chippy which uses foam trays is not a proper chippy and doesn't understand how foam ruins the taste.

Fish and chips are lovely , kebab is best around too . Service however is slow . Little bit on the expensive side .

beware of the new staff member dishing up half portions just paid £ 11 quid for the smallest portion of fish chips n curry ever! normally get given double the amount of chips the chips barely covered the bottom of the tray . just not good business ripping off customers.

First time coming here since new management. I have to say everything was so delicious! We had chips, gravy, battered sausage, battered burger and mixed meat tray. Great portions, super tasty. The staff there are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Can't wait for my next chippy feast. Yum!

The best chippy in Stoke area THE MILEHOUSE was closed, so, aghast, we went in search of a decent fish and chip tea. Years before we’d been to Penkhull Chippy so we decided to head there! Bad mistake, although we didn’t realise it yet. Ordered large fish in breadcrumbs, chips and peas with a side curry sauce. Not cheap, but it was all cooked freshly. Service was friendly but hardly any salt and vinegar was administered, so I did ask for more, but the holes must have been blocked up as virtually nothing came out. Headed back to the car for the test. The fish was overcooked and hard. Hardly any fish inside. Somehow they’d managed to breadcrumb fresh air. Chips were dreadful. Most of them stuck together and undercooked. Curry sauce was lumpy. I prefer Chinese curry but there wasn’t an option. The peas were the only saving grace. Forks were wooden naff ones too. All in all I can’t remember worse fish and chips in the past few years. Shame because we had high hopes for Penkhull but we definitely won’t be calling again.

Lovely food altho I had a cheese and onion pie yummy inside but the pastry was so hard such a shame as it let my whole meal down and I was left hungry

Visited this Fish and Chip Shop as I’d seen it had won the best chippy in stoke award. I ordered Fish, Chips, peas with a curry sauce. The chips were soft on the inside and crisp on the outside, the fish was very nice with a light batter, the peas were perfect and curry sauce tasty. Only chip shop I’ll visit from now on.

Absolutely appalling hard chips soggy batter on fish . Seemed like a fillet not a whole fish had to scrape it off the batter

Absolutely awful. Fish was grey/brown and encased in very thick batter which oozed oil every time that you cut into it. Chips were inedible. Undercooked yet the ends overcooked. Only vaguely nice bits were the steak and kidney pudding and the peas Heard great things about here, so very disappointed.

Thus had always been the BEST chip shop in the area. Always a family-owned business, the current owners took over a few years ago and have kept up the very high standards that keep locals coming back time and again. Generous portions and very good prices ( where else can you get a high quality fish and chips for less than a fiver ! )

Awesome plaice (spelt that way deliberately). Foods always hot and fresh. The Staff are always welcoming and friendly. I can heartily recommend this Chippy 100%. I shall miss them when I eventually move at the end of the year.

my partner call yesterday she had fish and chips i had what was made out to be a steak pie and a fritter dont know what it was pie had been kept warm for ever shocking and as for what supposed to be a fritter i had a slice of potatoe that was covered in something as hard as concrete disgusting and as for the prices itS a right rip off they have no clue what they are doing NEVER AGAIN WONTLET ME GIVE IT A MINUS TO POST

Amazing battered fish, really crispy thin batter, perfectly cooked fish inside, really enjoyed it. The price was exceptionally good too. Covid restrictions fully abided by. I would have preferred the chips just wrapped in paper rather than in a styrene type container tho. Will definitely be using again.

Had to wait over 45 minutes for food and them it was wrong After response from owner calling me a liar I will give more information I sat at the rear of your car park from 6.14pm and received my food at 7.06pm I asked several of your staff how long I would be waiting which the response I got back is I will check but it will be soon on the car park there were several other people that were disgruntled with the delay that 1 person even suggested that instead of walking up and down car park shouting out food orders for exact information 4 chips and 4 cod which was brought out and not claimed at least 3 times 1 other patron on the car park suggested that maybe you should issue numbers instead of asking colour and make of car While I appreciate the offer of a refund i feel it is not the cost of the food that caused me the issue it was the waiting and then to be called a liar I find very unprofessional

1 cod 3 haddock all cooked to order and great chips to boot. My local chippy, but I would travel to get this quality.

I asked Google the best Fisb N Chio shop in that area abd that area and this place came up. 38 miles later I was there. Absolutely lovelly really good quality place. 100% recommendation! I will be there again :-)

Went recently for regular chips only. They were only average in taste and not as crispy as I would like!! I was expecting better based on previous reviews. I will leave it a while before trying again. Lets hope my disappointment was a one-off
