Awful service, overpriced, didn't question tolerance or allergies...only cater to people who won't question a £6 jump between small to medium (claiming superior ingredients, base etc) never again oh did i mention the burnt crust and (green sausage)! Oh wait...there's a photo for that! They claim to care deeply about every product!!!

It's very nice from the outside, but inside the benches are no longer nice and are already crumbling and the upholstery is already tearing. The food tastes very good and is ready quickly.

The food here is great. However the customer service is terrible. When ordering on the phone it is like speaking to a grumpy toddler who doesn’t want to be there. Thew a fit every time I asked for an extra topping or change of drink. I get that work isn’t fun but customer service is so important, please work on this. We will definitely ordering here because it’s the only place in Aberystwyth that serves good pizza. It would just be nice to be treated like a valued customer instead of a nuisance.

Pizza is really good, if you eat in they usually serve it in 5 minutes. The place unfortunetly is run down, outdated and it looks like it needs a good make over . Don't think there are any toilets but I'm not sure I would want to use them anyway considering how the place looks like. It reminds me of a restaurant from communism. The guy that was usually at the till looks like he doesn't like his job at all.

Me and my children popped In here for dinner we had a pizza each and my goodness they are delicious, traditionally freshly cooked to order. Kid friendly and a nice relaxed atmosphere

Had pizza and garlic bread delivered. First time I've ordered from them via deliveroo. Won't be doing it again. Pizza was very very light on toppings. . And stone cold and in parts burnt. Garlic bread was burnt to a crisp. And like the pizza was Stone cold.. Won't be ordering anything again. Stick to domino's in future.. Much nicer and arrives hot.. Very disappointed...

The best pizza in Aberystwyth much better than the Italian restaurant. Im a loyal customer for 2 years and never been disappointed. Friendly and always in time. Thanks guys keep it up.

The pizza was great. The place itself was kinda freezing, probably because they just fired up their pizza oven. The place itself looks worn down and could use a makeover. One of the service staff though was very friendly.

Great pizza place. The one vegan option was too garlicky for me but surprisingly nice considering it’s a non vegan place, and I would’ve liked to see a vegan option for the Nutella pizza as us vegans were jealous of the non vegans in the group. The staff were great and let us drink our own beers we brought in with us while we sat in to eat.

Don't let the generic facade fool you! The best pizza I've had in years. Beautiful crusted base with delicious BBQ chicken topping. Fast, good service and soooooooo tasty 😋

Ordered a Vegetarian 'Pizza Tropea' on 06/03/2023 in the evening only to find Anchovy on my pizza slice where I could smell the fish and ended up taking a bite of the fish and eating it. This is not okay as allergies could have been involved and it is clear the food hygiene needs improving. A new pizza was offered however given the circumstances a refund was preferable, which is yet to be received. No apology was given. I will not be ordering here again and have advised all my university friends to not go here.

This place has been an absolute lifesaver for me and my friends during our first year at uni, the food is absolutely delicious and all the workers/drivers are so lovely. Genuinely unable to count just how many times we’ve been having a late night study sesh and this food has been the thing to keep us going

All right. Was pretty drunk when I stumbled in here at 1am.

One of my favourite places in Aber, the caramelized onions and gorgonzola on a pizza is a complete game changer, and the delivery is always fast. Simply love it! 🥰

Made an order at 2am, given. Pizza came burnt so IDK what is happening at that time to distract you from a pizza, but every time I have asked for the cheese melted atop of chips, the cheese was not melted. Food is good but the quality is give or take. I'd say the safest bet is just get the some chips - at least those are consistently good.

AVOID. The worst service I ever had in Aberystwyth and I have been coming to this town every year since 2005. This place doesn’t know meaning of croeso cynnes. We went in and felt very unwelcome after ordering our food. I said thank you to guy in chef outfit with woolly hat after we finished our food and he looked at me like I insulted him. When we were leaving I was called back to take the empty pizza box with us that they just served us. If you don’t want people to dine in remove all your tables from your restaurant and the seats that are falling apart when you sit on them.

Coming from New Jersey (US) I’ve been searching for pizza like we have at home - Penguin is the closest I’ve found! Thin with a crispy but soft crust and a great sauce-cheese ratio. Delivery was fast and easy and the driver was super nice! Also, fantastic prices.

Milkshakes taste vile. the pizzas are standard. Phoned up explaining and had absolutely disgusting customer service! Calling us horrible and not to ever return to Penguin pizza 😂 wasnt goin to return ever. "Dont order again" No refund either regardless. Dont bother with this ridiculous place 😂 he started getting racist at the end of the call saying something about the people of our nation. Crazy.

Waitress very friendly and helpful, Pizza wasn't too bad at all, it was piping hot and definitely tasty but I must be honest, maybe alittle more meat I know you cannot please everyone but that's my opinon, only real thing lacking in my opinon is the inside of the building looks like it could do with a overall, apart from that will come back with my family to eat next time in town

Hollywood is quantity, Penguin is quality. One is for when you've been on the lash, the other is for when you want a thoughtfully prepared pizza on a nice thin base. Only thing Penguin could improve are their sides. Pretty standard frozen stuff. Slightly pricey so more of a 4.5 ⭐

Easily the best pizza in Aberystwyth

Will the pizza arrive 20 mins early or 40 mins late?!? Who can say, certainly not the restaurant who have always assured me it's 5 mins away. Pizza is nice although the added extra melted plastic on the jalepeno poppers is unnerving. Delivery service 0/10 shoddy as fluuk, neither predictable nor what you ask for. Just rang again to be assured it was 1 min away. 5 min ago. Dominoes may be more reliable.

Popped in for take out, lovely staff, fab authentic pizza oven and obs fab pizza.

Bonnes pizzas, pas très chères, pas énormément d'attente après la commande. En revanche service un peu minimaliste en restauration sur place.

I got two takeaway pizzas, and sides with my partner from here, and all were very tasty, and well priced. Nothing to fault.

Would have given more stars but unfortunately failed to notice I asked for no basil on my pizza other than that tho fault less taste after a long day in the office brilliant thin crust packing more flavour and also a slight hint of flour taste superb I might be calling back for another one also fast delivery spot on

I used to work here when I was in my early teens and the ice cream was to die for. Please bring the ice cream back !!!

Ordered the vegan "pizza." On its own, it's a pizza base with sauce and massive chunks of mostly uncooked garlic. No other garnish, no other topping. I'm not difficult to please, but I had to take off the garlic (which I remind you was the only topping) in order to eat the "pizza" (marinara on bread) because, as mentioned, the garlic wasn't even cooked. I forgot I'd ordered from there before and ordered a second time, this time with olives. You'd think, on a pizza with no cheese or cheese substitute or literally anything, that they'd at least be generous with toppings. Nope. 5 olives thrown at one side, I received fewer toppings on my pizza than my non-vegan friends got, and their pizzas had cheese. Terrible value for money. If you don't want to sell vegan pizza, don't put it on the menu. It's a complete ripoff.

By far the best pizza in Aberystwyth! The bases are always lovely and thin - and they usually have charred bits on the bottom from the proper pizza oven they are cooked in. My go to topping is the pepperoni, which I think is so satisfying - it is flavourful and moreish. My partner and I love the nutella pizza for dessert - a real yummy treat! Lastly, when you order they usually are pretty quick, which is awesome -especially as it is obviously handmade!

Terrible service! Waited over an hour for food to be delivered just for it to be cold and missing items! Was then told over the phone that the missing items were not being delivered! Bad customer service all round.

I find a good test of a café is their BLT. They are lovely here and very reasonably priced! I pop in when in Aber and it's always nice. Keep up the good work.

I ordered 3 small pizzas. I recived them and we all started eating, but in one of the pizzas there was hard big plastic bites, that were really sharp. I could not eat any more of the pizza and my friends became paranoid as well and had to look through all of their pizza and found one more smaller bite in one of the other pizza. When I tried to contact Penguin pizza they said it was no way this could be in their pizza because then they would know because they made it? Then it tried to explain it some more and they did not even respond to my messages. Two of the 3 pizzas was not eateble and this was not a pleasant experience.

This was a fantastic cafe, and that was BEFORE they started doing pizzas as well! The pizzas are incredibly reasonable and are in a proper Italian style unmatched in Aberystwyth and they still do the classic UK cafe food like tuna rolls, custard slices and doughnuts! Lots of variety, and all of this is served by some very friendly staff!

Used to visit here when my children were little to have one of their delicious cakes and a drink. Was not disappointed on this visit either, attended after my fathers funeral with my now grown up kids, to reminencse and to enjoy one of my fathers favourite cakes. Staff extremely friendly and understanding on a very emotional visit for us all.

Good pizza at a reasonable price

Based on the many reviews I decided to go for a pizza at 'Penguin Pizza'. I can add my positive review to the growing list of positivity. I had a pizza in Italianen style: a thin thrust with no top much toppings, like a pizza should be: not too thick. When entering I was the first of the Evening, nevertheless the staff was friendly and welcoming me gracious. A very good pizza dinner place.

Hidden jewel of a pizza restaurant. They made me an incredible 16 inch vegan pizza despite it not being on the menu. And it proper pizza, handmade to order and cooked in a real pizza oven.

This place is really easy to describe. Pizza was delicious, service incredibly friendly and it was surprising that they can make a real pizza faster than I can put a frozen one to a microwave. I'll definitely come back!
