Visiting Mediacity in Manchester, had time to kill, so opted for a morning Café Latte in Penelope's Deli. Nice coffee, on rustic seating / benches. Friendly if slow staff.

Good refuge on a cold rainy day, coffee was ok, service a bit disinterested, i suspect i was not cool or young enough to warrant better service, food looked alright but I won't be going again !

Popped in to grab some light bites to eat and drinks on the first post lockdown weekend. Sat out front enjoying the nice weather. Very reasonably priced and the staff were lovely.

Thought this was just for Media staff at first, but once we got over our inhibitions it was fine for a quick coffee and a nice place to watch the comings and goings in relative comfort.

First, the good bits. The coffee was nice, and the baked potato with cheese was very acceptable. The staff are friendly. BUT I visited twice on consecutive days. The first time, I had to ask the young lady for my change. She had put my money in the till, then gone off to do something else. The following day, with a different person serving, I handed over a £20 note for a bill of £7.50. After putting it in the till then walking off to do something else, the young chap handed me £7.50 change. I wouldn't have mentioned this if it hadn't happened twice, but I'll use the place if I am ever in Media City again.

Cold, wet Sunday afternoon and very busy with visitors waiting for or returning from Coronation Street tours. Tables piled high with used cups and no one around to clear up or clean. Only two staff members in sight. Ordered a couple of hot drinks and got the last remaining sandwich (at 2.30pm) and was overcharged for the privilege. At least the server rectified the shortfall in change without question! If this place is what welcomes tourists from further afield who’d recommend visiting Media City?

Great soy vanilla latte, had bacon egg and sausage barm. I’d say the over food and service was excellent for the money charged. Definitely somewhere I’d pop by again when in area.

Stopped here for breakfast this morning before visiting IWM North. Ordered two bacon baguettes and a tea, which you would think was simple enough. After the server went to make the breakfast she said she only had one ‘barm’ left so was bread ok? I said I had ordered baguettes and only at this point she said they did not have any. I said a sandwich was fine and she made one of them in a barm and added brown sauce, I had asked for ketchup but I was ok with brown. As I had been told this was the only barm I was expecting her to make the other sandwich on bread but she just told me to wait a while. After a few minutes and no activity, apart from her texting someone, I asked if I could have the tea while we waited. She seemed to have completely forgotten this so then made the tea. I then reminded her that I was happy to have the second sandwich on bread and she went off to make it. To my surprise she then returned with another bacon barm. So having ordered two bacon baguettes, then being told their was only one barm and no baguettes, we we ended up with two barms! Unfortunately the bacon was cold in both! As we were leaving I noticed a display of baguettes (and other stick style loaves) in the display counter!!

I arrived at a good time since there was no queue and it is a very popular place. Very friendly and helpful young man served me and nothing was too much trouble for him. Very good choice of locally and ethically sourced food including soup; hot or cold filled paninis; wraps; cakes and biscuits; lovely, fresh choose-what-you-like salad bar (generously filled boxes); proper teas and coffees. Options for regular, vegetarian and vegan customers. I had a super big salad and a flat white for less than £6 - you wouldn't get value like that at most arts/heritage/cultural venues. It put me in an excellent mood for the excellent concert which followed. First class - just like the BBC!

Ate here after our Corrie tour. We saw chicken wraps whilst buying water before our tour. After the tour I went to buy the chicken wraps, but they were all sold, so l bought the only wraps left, which was hummus and salad leaves. These were vey good and tasty. The cafe was busy with people waiting for the tours, or just finished one. There are long tables with benches and some chairs, ok to sit on for a short time whilst eating a snack. Would recommend this cafe.

Great coffee lounge and location right next to the Corrie Tour starting point. Coffee and bacon sandwich I ordered was excellent, although staff attitude could have been a bit happier for a Sunday morning and remember a smile doesn’t cost anything!

Called for a coffee after watching a BBC show being filmed in Dock 10. Service was pretty slow, due mainly to the slow coffee making equipment. Yes, I know that real coffee takes time to prepare but that doesn't help if you're in a hurry. Service was a bit haphazard in that customers were pushing to the counter rather than queuing in line so it wasn't always clear as to who was next so the staff seemed a little pushed at the time we arrived. Maybe it's better at quieter times when shows are actually in progress.

Visited with one of my work colleagues and what a great place, very cute, Lovely staff and the food was high quality considering it isn't expensive. My burger came with free fries which was a welcomed surprise and we really liked that it has a open plan kitchen so you can watch your food being made. Love the free refill coffee we could have stayed for hours.

Went to Penelopes for lunch with a group of work friends and was unfortunately really disappointed!!! It always looks to be busy so I expected the food to be good and the place to be nice.Unfortunately it was freezing inside!!!! I sat on a wobbly wooden bench wrapped up in my scarf and coat and couldn't get warm at all. Then someone opened all the windows, just to freeze me some more.I ordered a 'Kevin Bacon' burger which is a double burger with American cheese and crispy bacon in a brioche bun with fries. The bacon was anything but crispy, in fact it was fatty and cold and the burgers were overcooked and bland, the brioche wasn't toasted which was disappointing and the piece of cheese was so small I hardly tasted it. The fries were more like crisps as they were so overcooked :(I also ordered a bottle of Budweiser which was warm, surprising when Penelopes is so cold!!!!!It wasn't expensive, but it was too expensive for such bland, cold, unappetising food.

My first visit was February 2014; I have now been a few times, and keep going back.Nice relaxed atmosphere, with really friendly staff and food to match.Even during busy periods the food arrives quickly, and with plenty of promotions & specials, it's well worth following them on Twitter & Facebook too just to see what's on offer.I have been on a number of occasions now, and have yet to be disappointed with either the food or the service. One final pointer - try the Kevin Bacon burger; bacon, bit more bacon, and some bacon bits on top.

The food is cold. They send a little bit of the sweet potato fries. And the chicken wings are supposed to be lemon and herbs but is full of spicy.
