Pelton Arms in Greenwich

What a great find! There was an amazing band on, great choice of beers, fab beer garden and the staff were genuinely friendly, will return and stay longer!

What a great pub to stumble across in the back streets of Greenwich. Live music, good selection of beer and friendly service. A lovely atmosphere and the pizzas looked amazing! Great beer garden too.

Been going here off and on for years to see bands and it’s a great venue and atmosphere. The only downside is that when l go on a Saturday night l have always found that the bar prices are all over the place and you find yourself getting charged different prices for exactly the same drinks🙃. I’m not a skinflint but £8 for a pint of lager is a bit steep for a cosy backstreet pub as some people describe it.

Great little old pub on the up, banter from the lady of the house. Great atmosphere, looks like it's been newly refurbished. I would go back for sure.

Just went solo for the Sunday roast. Was recommended to go there. Plans had been canceled because of rain and being a 5 minute walk I decided to go. Will be here on holiday from the States till May 2nd. The staff were wonderful, so I will be back. And my lamb roast was out of this world. It's definitely going to be my local pub to go to.

Decent music venue, service and beer selection.

Very lovely local pub, nice pints and a nice fire. It's a bit cold if you're not next to the fire but the bar staff are nice, toilets are nice, very chill atmosphere but their quizz on Tuesday is sooo niche it's quite interesting 🤔

What can one say about the Pelton Arms? It's brilliant in its own quirky, restrained yet loud decor kind of way. Plenty of events throughout the week, quite a lot of locals were in for the quiz, we had pizzas which were nice and sourdough base well done... Beers sound too. A place LOVE cos it feels so independent... Good garden out back

Probably one of the nicest crowds in a pub I’ve experienced. Also pizza is insane and the pints are very good. Oh, and live music! It’s a shame how expensive a drink was though. Also the gravel in the garden is very annoying and stupid. Like their stupid pub cat. But yeah, this place rules.

This is our local and we’re proud to call it that. Everything from the iconic green tiles outside to the warm old London pub on the inside makes it so welcoming. We last visited this weekend just gone to watch the rugby. The screen is a little small but the atmosphere isn’t. Drinks are good, not the cheapest in London but certainly not the most expensive either. I know other reviews below have mentioned paying different amounts for the same drinks and we’ve definitely experienced this but anytime it’s been questioned it’s been rectified. It really is a hidden gem just off the Thames Path and definitely worth visiting for the pizza and garden too.

What a wonderful surprise visit to this fab pub, while walking from our hotel to our venue 🥂🎊🥂 This place has a wonderful atmosphere and the beer was delicious ... would definitely recommend, and we'll be back, for sure!!

Absolutely brilliant pub, really good atmosphere with a great selection of drinks. Food looks good but never eaten here so can't comment on it. The range of entertainment they have is first class and definitely worth a visit.

I go twice a month with my husband and friends to this pub as Salvo’s pizza is very good and the staff is friendly. However is the second time I get a full panic attack thanks to 2 large dogs being brought in the pub. Last night there were 2 ( Newfoundland like giant dogs) just steps away from me. I’m scared of dogs , I don’t mind small ones but this large dogs shouldn’t be brought in a busy pub with seating so close to each other. Took me a while to calm down and enjoy my pizza. Would be nice if Management puts in place a rule for large dogs especially on busy nights. Or maybe just allow them in the garden area.

Great pub - really really good Sunday lunch (very generous portions, including the meat, and beautifully cooked), friendly staff, lively atmosphere. We don't live near, but definitely hope to be back!

The room at the Pelton are very beautiful, as is the decor in the pub area. The prices are very reasonable for Greenwich. The musicians at the last sunday of the month are incredible. The pizza is absolutely delicious. It can be very busy in terms of available tables so try to book in advance or be prepared to stand. This pub is a gem.

I absolutely love the Pelton Arms. Proper lovely friendly pub. Plus where else can you show up and the place is full of Norwegians singing sea shanties? So good.

I popped in here on a Monday, and they buy one get one free on pizza (excellent and large pizza) between 18:00 and 21:00. Wow! Amazed! Delicious pizza. Worth it. I will come again. Mmm! Please do not come here on Tuesday evening, the most boring quiz ever, I had pinch myself.

Went there to see the band “Run for Cover” 6 in our group, We bought 6 rounds the same 6 drinks and not one of them were the same price.. The Prices ranged from £25 - £40. The venue itself had a great atmosphere and the bands they have advertised look great. The Punters seemed friendly and all up for a good night no hint of trouble.

My favorite local pub. It has an amazing atmosphere, beautiful garden, friendly service, a good selection of beers, and yummy wood oven pizza.

Beer, People, best what you can get!

Lovely aesthetic of the bin with a nice selection of beers and friendly service. Sadly however beer is insanely expensive, £7.40 for Brixton reliance which costs £5 round the corner in Deptford

Absolute belter of a pub. Proper beauty of a landlady that knew pretty much everyone that walked in there, a proper locals pub and extremely welcoming staff and punters. We couldn't ask for more, really good live music both times we went there on the August Bank Holiday weekend. Both days were very busy, lively and an atmosphere that would be hard to beat. We ate there on the Sunday and the pizzas were to die for. Cant speak highly enough of the place, the management, the staff, the food and the punters. I can't wait to go there again at the next chance I get. I've sent Cornwall your regards btw 😉

Very nice Sunday roast as shown on the pictures! The pub also offers very decent wooden oven baked pizzas. Definitely worth mentioning the very nice atmosphere, which includes live music on several occasions! Would definitely recommend visiting if you are in the Greenwich area!

I have always loved The Pelton Arms, until today, when I was charged £7.30 for a pint. No. No, simply no. Even most Central London pubs aren't abusing their customers to that extent. Absolutely unjustifiable, so this once glorious pub can get stuffed.

Would have been a brilliant pub. Great food and great live music. Horrible bar staff! I ordered a pizza to an outside table and then realised there was live music. I asked to have the pizza changed to be delivered inside, was not only responded to horribly by the bar staff but when they delivered it they were more than rude again! Commented on by everyone I was with. Really would have been a brilliant experience but left because of the terrible and unnecessary service. God forbid somebody wants to move tables and asks the bar staff if it’s okay prior to moving! You really could have said no if it was a big deal!

Two for £20 Tuesday, their Instagram advertised steak and the bar staff then said it wasn’t included. Gave them the opportunity to apologise and own up to the false advertising, they continued to just say no and not engage with us. New to the area and leaves a sour taste on what could be such a nice pub

Great pub with a lovely atmosphere and incredible pizza!

Excellent value for money - so much so that I’m in two minds about leaving a review as I’d love to be selfish and keep this hidden gem to myself! I’m not massively picky about using a shared bathroom, so long as it’s clean (which it always has been). Lovely antique furniture in the rooms and a very comfortable bed. They even have a basic kitchen area available for guests which is also very clean and safe. Oscar was very attentive, as were all their staff. The pub in itself is great - Red Stripe on tap and great bands. Lots of very thoughtful little touches, including ear plugs if you fancy an early night.

Amazing quiz on a Wednesday and good drinks

Normally love coming here, but had some very hostile and frankly rude service when sitting outside. Was made to feel very watched when drinking (the Barman couldn’t get my glass back quick enough, and was constantly watching us!) and was made to feel like I couldn’t eat anything that wasn’t to do with the pub. Even tho we were paying customers, and even sat outside. I’m a local to this pub and it made me feel very unwelcome and as if my custom wasn’t wanted. Really put off coming back! The barman with curtain hair was partially hostile with us, threatening to kick us out. Feels totally unreasonable and frankly the manner of staff needs addressing. Such a shame as we love coming here!

Had the best night at the Pelton with my family and friends to see Dizzy Lizzy! The staff are amazing and friendly. Fantastic pizzas, fish and chips and burgers. The band were amazing and this is the best pub in London. The friendly crowd and atmosphere is why I keep coming back time and time again and my friends want to come back for the fish and chips alone! Dizzy Lizzy band were brilliant and sounded just like Thin Lizzy. The whole night was the best from start to finish and we cannot wait to come back with our friends again. Proper London pub like they used to be!

Nice pub with live music and good food. Initial impression was that by standing at the bar we were interrupting the staff chatting while they stood around not working in a quiet early Saturday evening pub. They seemed to begrudgingly come over and served. Later the staff complement increased by 6 people, and service generally was good after that. Toilets okay. Pizza was nice, but a bit stingy with toppings in my view. Reasonable wine selection. Dogs welcome. When the rock band played, the whole place got pretty lively and had a good vibe. Recommended for social and for live band music.

Couldn't believe they had 5 real ales on draught. After a long but highly enjoyable afternoon I can confirm they were kept in very good condition. Great staff too.

Lovely neighbourhood pub with live music, local ales and a beer garden. Definitely an worthy addition to the local community. My only grumble would be the live music is a bit too loud but maybe I’m just getting too old! 👨🏻‍🦳. Probably if you’re 20 something and don’t need to hear yourself think then this is the place for you!
