Decent for a now and then. Like they use lots of real veg not the usual tinned water chestnuts and similar. Not greasy. Curry can be a bit bland but plenty other to choose from. Delivery has been much quicker lately and delivery driver is always cheerful. Sometimes if you phone the lady on the end of the phone can be a bit rude. Food doesn’t have that fake MSG taste that other similar places can

I have no problem with the food, very tasty but if you order a delivery at 5pm, you’ll get it just before 8pm, regardless of what delivery time you were notified

Our whole takeaway went in the bin! The rice noodles had congealed with fat and sauce and meat, the ‘Tom yum soup’ was basically watery chicken soup with a hint of lemongrass flavouring and our order took over an hour to arrive, we had to call and ask where it was as it arrived 30 mins after the stated time on order. It was plain to see that it had all been reheated. Poor show, won’t be giving this Chinese our money ever again! Lee cottage in Lochgelly all the way!

Our order was meant to be delivered as advertised in 40 minutes. 2 hours and 15minutes later we eventually had to go and collect it. Refused to refund our delivery charge of £2.50. Once at restruant had to wait another 20 minutes. Staff very rude over phone and on collection. Ruined our date night which I can only thank them for. Please do not waste your time and money. Until this occasion we where happy repeat customers. Actual about chewing my own arm off with hunger now. Still hopeful of getting dinner before I start work on Monday. Kind regards Hangry dad.

Placed an order at 6.15 and was given an ETA of 7.05, got an update pretty quickly to say they were busy and my order would now be with me at 7.55. Called at 8.15 to find they hadn't even started to cook it yet and it would be another 15 minutes (but not holding my breath). I get that they are busy but it shouldn't take 2 hours to even start cooking an order.

The Peking Inn has always delivered our food super fast. We’ve never had a problem with incorrect items. My personal favourite are The Salt and Pepper chips which are great. The children’s sausage and chips are huge. We only need to order one between both of our twins. Can fully recommend this take away.

I was given the job of organising a group takeaway. Not an easy task especially if you get it wrong then have people mianing about food. After some reading of reviews of all the local restaurants I decided to choose this place. We spent around £137 on a takeaway while camping with friends at Lochgelly. I checked before ordering that they would deliver out to there. YES, great. The food arrived near enough on time, despite being several miles away it was still hot. The portion sizes were good, the food was tasty. There was not one person in our group that didn’t enjoy it. NOTE to staff. If you would have marked each bag or container like I had asked it would have made my job of making sure the person got what they ordered much easier instead of wasting time and a lot of confusion playing a guessing game of what the meals were inside. As for the food , We highly recommend this place and will be back next year for another order. So on behalf of our group i’d like to say Thank you for the lovely meals.

We mainly order our Chinese food from her and I must say I have never had a bad meal, it takes some time to work through the menu but once you have settled on your personal choice it's easy sailing from then on. The staff are always friendly. points to note they have no card machine so it's cash only!

This is our local ‘go to’ Chinese takeaway. Using the Just Eat app it’s as easy as pie to order from here. Food arrives promptly and hot. It has a varied menu so there’s something for everyone’s taste. Prices are reasonable too. I can heartily recommend this restaurant.

I regularly use this restaurant as the food is excellent at a very reasonable. The service has always been mixed, but I have got used to it, my most recent visit however topped it all. The restaurant is not very big, approximately 45 seats and on entering there were approximately 4 tables occupied with about 12 or so people. We duly placed our order and began chatting and it wasn't until we heard another table complain that they had been waiting 90 minutes (exaggerated I think for effect) for their main course that we realised that we had been waiting 45 minutes for our starter. I asked the waitress when our starter would arrive and she said she would ask the chef but she never came back. Eventually after about 1 hour our starter arrived. The main course was served in a reasonable time as the restaurant had quietened down as the carry out service had slowed. During the time there, the carry out service was going like a fair and I think the priority may have been to get them out on time, possibly to meet some App deadline, to the detriment of the diners. The management need to ensure that diners are suitably attended to, otherwise they will lose their custom and then they would as well be a carryout only, which would be a shame as the food is very good.

The service at this Chinese restaurant is excellent - friendly and helpful, and the young lady has a sense of humour, which is very relaxing. The food is good and the place is quiet. And the rice was excellent - a rare thing nowadays!

Stopped by here for dinner with my wife on many recommendations from friends. Also wanted to try it since moving to Cowdenbeath and it being one of the few local restaurants. Pretty much delivered what everyone else says. We were greeted and served by what appeared to be the owner. Very abrupt with us initially but warmed a little through the serving. He was very loud throughout our meal taking phone orders and shouted quite a lot to his daughter in Cantonese. His daughter was a lot more welcoming and friendly. Must say I felt as though I was eating my dinner in someone's living room as we where the only diners, no music and also they had a kettle and mugs out on one table. I must say however the food was excellent and was worthy of the praise it gets. Maybe wouldn't stop by for a sit in dinner, but would order a takeaway.

Ordered today for the first time via just eat and opted for a collection which was to be picked up at 6:35pm. My husband arrived at that time and had to wait an additional 30 minutes on top of the original time given and didn't walk out with our order until 7:04pm. This is a ridiculous time to wait on a pick up, wouldn't be so bad if the staff had given a longer time and not had him wait over double the time given. When we opened the meals, the rice was cold and all clumped together (not edible) so was thrown away, the salt and pepper chips were over cooked and the curry was barely warm and didn't seem like the breast option we had asked for. After waiting so long for a meal, and only living a 2 minute walk away, this was a huge disappointment. If I had more time I would have taken it all back for a refund. I called to complain and was advised the wait was so long because they were 'quite busy tonight'. Over all, terrible meal, terrible service and will never use again. I would defiantly not recommend.

The staff are lovely and friendly and the owner, although some have described him as abrupt, is a really nice man and has always been friendly towards us. The popularity of the Peking Inn with the Cowdenbeath townsfolk is not difficult to see as the phone goes non-stop with delivery orders but it is even better to visit for a his sit-down meal. The owner is friendly and efficient and he is backed up by his son and daughter to provide excellent service. The main attraction, however, is the food and no matter where you choose from the extensive menu you will be happy. We love starters of sesame toast and prawn tails while the special sizzling dishes are a delight even if they do set off the smoke alarms on occasion. Pop into the Peking and you will not be disappointed.

went for a sit down family meal for the 1st time..... & will be the last. we were the only people in the place & the owners "wife" sat at the front counter on the fone & when I say she war roaring, I MEAN IT. this went on for around just over 5 mins. we were leaning over our table to try hear each other. We asked the male owner if she would b on the fone long. he told her to be quieter, which lasted about 3/4 mins... b4 she got louder again than the man told her to go through back. WE then sat in complete silence for the rest of the night as no back ground music on & we were the only ppl in.The man serving us had a face like thunder. when he brought the food out. he just stood there with plates in his hand & made hand and head movements to tell us that we were to move things on the table so he could put the food down. (if he had cleared the table b4 bringing the other food out it would have been beta).. HOWEVER the food was good and cheap enough. Then the younger staff came in (near the end of our meal) and the older man & wife went home... and the service was THEN 1st class. friendly helpful cheery smiling they totally turned the atmosphere right around.. on that note, if u go in and its the older couple serving then turn right around and go elsewhere, if its the younger couple then STAY. but you will get good food. im not a snob im a common cowden boy (and happy wi that) and I don't expect much but this service from the older couple was a disgrace #takeawayonly

Our first visit to the Peking Inn last night. Staff very courteous, but the owner was solemn & abrupt. The food was just amazing & the bill at the end of a very pleasant night was so reasonable. If you are looking for a posh chinese meal, with lovely surroundings and excellent service, then the Peking Inn is not for you. If however, you are looking for a down to earth family run restaurant with excellent food at a very reasonable price then you should give it a go. I must warn you though the service is pretty poor at times, but we have been going for years so just accept it as an accentric part of our visit. The staff are friendly and welcoming but I suspect they have not been trained as sometimes you have to wait ages for glasses when you BYO, wait for your plate when the meal has been delivered and all meals don't arrive at same time and it takes ages to clear the table or its only partially cleared. What it lacks in service and to be honest a somewhat old fashioned decor, is more than compensated by the excellent food, portion size and very reasonable prices and what I particularly like is a tolerance of the owning family to allow you to relax with a drink whilst they have a meal at the back of the restaurant.

This place might be adequate to some if you are mortal. But, I had a meal in their restaurant and I ended up no weel for 3 days on a major whitey.I have a cupboard in my house that's bigger than the kitchen so I would challenge how the food is being prepared. The door step out the back maybe that’s been peed on.The owner is angry and irate and goes about shouting and getting stressed out with the 12 tables or so that he has to serve. Pure ignorant to the point you just want to hook him and stick the note pad back his throat with a wee bit soy sauce but are deterred in case Ninjas appear from out the back.Cheap and nasty cheapness. Spend a bit more somewhere else and get a bit of quality. You are unlikely to get quality eating in Cowdenbeath but this isn’t even good enough for a last minute thought.Angry Right Wing T Fae Cowden

Me and the hubby went to the Peking in for the first time on Saturday. we arrived around 7.30 although they start serving food from 4.30. We went into the restaurant and were shown to a table right away. I would say the restaurant was quite but that did not bother us. We were giving a menu each and some prawn crackers were placed on table. We decided to share as we never eat a whole meal ourselfs. We decided on a chicken curry, fried rice, chips, salt and pepper chicken wings. I would say the food arrived very quickly. They had put wee hot plate things on the table to keep our food warm Which was a nice touch. I would say both of really enjoyed our meal. In fact i would go as far as to say it was the best Chinese that we have had in years. We found the restaurant very cosy. The staff were very friendly the food was amazing and the service was quick. Our meal come to a total of £18.80 that included 3 soft drinks. We will be going back again sometime. I am looking forward to Friday as were phoning a delivery from there lol. Defo recommend

Food was good and as a vegetarian there was a good selection and plenty fresh vegetables which can be quite unusual for many local Chinese restaurants and take always service was excellent although think the waitresses get a bit if hard time from the owner although they may have made mistakes I am not aware of also when I leave a tip I expect it to go to the waiter or waitress although that is not the case here so you may want to keep it to yourself although food was good fresh and plenty of it

I have been to this restaurant a few times now, and often order takeaway. The quality of the food is excellent, and there is a massive menu so plenty of choice. The waiters and waitresses are friendly and efficient, however the manager/owner does tend to be very abrupt and rude - we were attending my sister-in-laws birthday and were unfortunate enough to have this man serve us. Also he took all the orders in Chinese so when the bill was presented we had to query it as we didn't understand it - turns out he had added 3 extra drinks to our bill that we did not order. The plus side is that you are able to take your own wine or beer (and there is a shop across the road to purchase some if you forget) - no spirits allowed - although they are licensed.

Sadly the food has gone downhill. Used to be an excellent Chinese take away but lately the quality has been lacking. Tonight was the worst though. Ordered 2 x chicken fried rice, chips, mushroom and onion fried rice, barbecue ribs and a portion of curry sauce. The order came with curry sauce all over the chips which thankfully they did correct and give us them separate albeit with a look of disgust as if we were in the wrong. The mushroom and onion fried rice though ended up inedible due to the onions being covered in a curry dressing which the person who this was for is allergic to one of the ingredients in the curry. Luckily because it was noticed before a mouthful was taken, some antihistamine has been able to quell the reaction but it could have been worse. We won’t be coming back as there is a distinct lack of care and for us this could be dangerous.

Horrendous yet again. This place has gone downhill. BBQ Spare Ribs no meat all bone. King Prawn Chow Mein way over cooked. Just a clump of inedible noodles Prawns were pure white, full of water and tasteless. Never touched a Wok. Nothing else in the Chow Mein. King Prawn Curry again pure white water filled prawns and tasteless. Yet again the lot went in the bin. Waste of 30 quid. Never again. Spoke with owner on this and he suggested that I had found somewhere else instead and also hi end takeaways in Edinburgh. Wanted me to reorder at a discount price Seriously? Don't order friends he knows he's ripping us off Shocking.
