Lovely food, always ready when they say

Extremely slow service. Every customer in this place waited anywhere between 45 minutes to 1 hour to get their food. You could see the disappointment in everyone’s face e as they left. Food was substandard. I won’t be back.

Kungpo beef was thrown in the bin after a couple of mouthfuls. No vegetables, old cashews, no taste, no spice, beef looked already chewed and pale. Whole meal looked beige in colour. Egg fried rice tasted like a microwave packet and not fresh. Absolutely disgusting. Prawn crackers were good though! Yuk

Served very quickly , food very tasty. Varied menu reasonably priced, will use again.

It's a takeaway! You provide your own entertainment whilst waiting for food. Never a long wait in my experience, good food, hot, good value for money.

Great service and good menu, 3 adults and 2 kids we all had separate meals and lovely enough food for the next day. House special rice was lovely with chippy chips. Only thing I would suggest is more pancakes for the duck, as loads of duck but only 6 pancakes.

Thought wont give 1 star as there are worse Chinese takeaways in Carnforth but was just bland, basic, greasy and no love, very disappointing and literally left a bad taste in mouth for hours later. It's probably the best in Carnforth itself but that's only because the other two are absolutely vile. Better off going to Trungs and paying a bit extra, at least quality tends to be spot on. Used to rate Rickys but that's gone down hill a bit since Covid.

Placed an order here while away on a short break. We were not disappointed. The portion sizes were great and it was fantastic value for money. We could have possibly fed another two people with what we ordered. Everything was really tasty and we had no complaints at all. Very pleased and will not hesitate to go back again if in the area

Service & food very good. 4 of us and we all enjoyed our different meals & starters. Decent sized portions so we were all full. Note: they don't seem to take card payments in the shop (just online for a 50p charge). Cash only although there is a cash point at the Co-op bank along the street.

I got takeaway from here a weeek ago, and I really don’t understand where the bad reviews are coming from? The food was incredible, by far the best Chinese I’ve ever had, first of all the salt and pepper shredded chicken was crispy, but not chewy, which is very hard to find! The chicken was just incredible, and the salt and pepper chips were also amazing and crispy and not soggy! Overall I’d recommend everyone to try this Chinese shop you will be impressed with the quality of their food

Overall the food was okay but it's the 21st century and they are frying frozen oven chips? It's not hard for a takeaway to make decent fresh chips. If I wanted to fry frozen ones I'd do that at home.

Just had lemon chicken,egg fried rice, worst meal ever chicken so tough, it's in the bin, don't waste your money.

Just visiting area, thought we'd have a Chinese takeaway. Beautiful! Had fried chicken with lemon sauce and noodles/beansprouts, partner had shredded sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice. Good portions, went down very well!!!

Amazing food but be prepared to wait for your food, very disappointed by the wait for some food however prices and food are good so if you don’t mind waiting it’s perfect

Personally love the Chinese food from here!. We love the salt and pepper chicken, spring rolls, egg fried rice, sweet and sour sauce, sweet and sour chicken balls and the curry sauce!. I've never really been a Chinese food fan but the food is gorgeous 😍

Unfortunately we didn't have a lot of choice of places to eat at the time as we arrived at 9pm. So lucky they were opened. 2 out of our 4 orders were wrong and one vegetarian fried rice had chicken in it! We only found out when we were back home so didn't come back to exchange them. We had stomach aches all nights and into the morning. Not planning to go again.

Had set meal for 2 tonight our friends had same. All good. Very enjoyable.

We have recently moved to the area, and love Chinese food. We have tried a few around Carnforth and this is by far the BEST! Tbh better than our old local Chinese back in Chorley! Very highly recommend this place and we have tried a variety of there menu. 😋✔️✔️👍🏻👍🏻

LOVE THE FOOD AND STAFF ARE LOVELY

We ordered a take away via walk-in at approx 6pm on New Year’s Eve, they advised an hour which ended up being an hour and a half as they were super busy. We didn’t mind waiting and nipped to Tesco (just around the corner) for a few bits to pass the time. The food was great, we had satay, spring rolls, amazing prawn crackers, chicken curry, king prawns, rice and noodles. Great portions and reasonable price. Loved the fortune cookies, not seen them for years! We will visit again when we are in the area.

Customer service is excellent, service with a smile (behind the masks), very well priced and such a vast menu too. Anything you want will be here. Great little spot.

Was staying at pine lake just outside carnforth and got a take away from here. Phoned and collected was ready in 15 minutes. Good prawn crackers, good portion sizes also. All food was tasty and hot. Also ordered one portion of chips and the portion was huge enough for four people. Would definitely return and recommend.

We have now been here for supper on 3 occasions and each time we have ordered a different meal. Every one has been really good. The premises are spotless and the service is very good. We will be back.

Having been in the area since February we have tried most takeaways but avoided this due to poor reviews. Then, we were told the place had been taken over and was worth trying. In for a penny.... Glad we did. Reminds me of how Chinese takeaways used to be and taste. Mixed satay, portion fried rice (not greasy) and extra noodles. Very very tasty. Persevere with receptionist, it's well worth it!

Unfortunately, the worst food I've ever eaten. I'm quite open minded when it comes to food but this food was so cheap and foul tasting. We have sweet and sour which tasted synthetic, the curry tasted like a packet mix, stale prawn crackers, the fried rice was identical in taste and look to a microwave uncle Ben's pouch, Salt and pepper chicken wings. All tastes very cheap and very processed.

Seem to be new people this last year or so, the menu is pretty standard but has several stand-out dishes: Pork Yuk Sung is really very good, as are the Chicken or Prawn and Sweetcorn soups. House Specials in a large container usually have some nice vegetables too. Sweet & sour can be a bit sweet but the Foo Yungs are great.

We ordered a set meal for 2 last night and it was the best chinese takeaway we have ever had. We had our ribs in chilli sour sauce at no extra cost which made it even more delicious! Would highly recommend.

It's our wedding anniversary and decided on a Chinese thought to come here as it's been a while. And we're so unhappy without food special fried rice wasn't what it should be and had beef and mushroom with the sauce too it's usually dry and we get curry sauce to go with it the ribs were like they been pressure cooked and was tasteless even the wife's beef and mushroom had no twist and also portions are half what they used to be. And also just as I'm writing this the wife's just ran into the toilet with the runs and feels sick. I rang them up but got the young girl who decided not to understand me. I'd pass if I was you there one at the top of the street much better

Just had the best takeaway from here. Char siu pork chow mein was cooked perfectly, very tasty! Will be ordering again. 👌🍜

The meal was awful, totally tasteless and bland...used to be fantastic but not been for 18months due to reasons but was really disappointed and will NOT be going back again.

Since changing hands. I have been very disappointed by the Peking takeaway. Looks like the new owners are cutting corners and The food just isn't ass good as it was. Been about 3 times and been disappointed each time. Cant see us using the Peking again. My Son had the beef curry and you could taste the cornflour in the sauce.

Always enjoyed good food here but tonight it took 1.15mins to receive a pick-up order (was told 30 - 40 mins). My partner picked up a pizza from the place next door first, and it was stone cold by the time my food at the Chinese was ready. Such a shame!

Nothing special, but nothing bad. Ordered some food as we were heading towards the town centre. Spicy salt and pepper chicken was crispy and tasty, as you’d expect. Tried the ‘sour chilli pork’ from the ‘new dishes menu’... which was just crispy (ish) pork in a sweet and sour sauce with a touch of heat. Nothing special, and a bit glutinous. It wasn’t too bad tho. Had better.

The food here is always delicious, and the chips are by far the best out of the takeaways in Carnforth. Staff are friendly and always willing to help you too! Recently been taken over by new owners, who are doing an amazing job at catering to specific needs such as gluten intolerance. Worth a try :)

To place a phone order is terrible, the vegetable spring rolls were greasy, the noodles were dry and the meat in the mains wasn't proper chicken either . New owners I wont be going back!

We got a takeaway (no delivery) during a recent holiday in the area. Ordering was easy, our food was ready when stated and it was fresh, very tasty and value for money. Quality all round and everyone enjoyed their meals. Fantastic

Moved to area recently & recommended by our neighbour. Had to wait 30mins for food but that's gotta be a good sign. Food didn't dissapoint. Fresh tasting & plenty of it. I will be returning, but i advise to phone your order in advance. It's a busy little kitchen.

Always a go-to for Chinese never had a bad meal from here fantastic choice of dishes and the service is always great.

We have tried other Chinese takeaways in carnforth when we stay at a lodge nearby & have to say we all really enjoyed the food we got from here, the young lad who served us was very pleasant, when we ordered they said it would be ready at 6.15 & it was ready at 6.20 so not that much longer to wait & would say it was much better than others we have tried in carnforth.

We had a Sunday night takeaway. Mixture of 4 dishes and all tasted better than our normal Chinese back home. Fresh and light. Would use them again if back in the area.

El Pequinés es el ir a China en la zona, siempre amables en carnforth el teléfono cuando ordene con comida de buena calidad. Puede ser a veces un poco tarde, cuando el llevar está ocupada. Sin embargo, la actitud del personal compensa esto, ya que siempre es agradable.

Encantador, la comida deliciosa, pero la atención al cliente no es genial. 3 veces tienen nuestra orden equivocada que sólo encontrará cuando llegue a casa, que está a 5 km de distancia, así que no puedo simplemente volver a resolver o el resto de la comida te frío! Los precios son más caros aquí. Las comidas en todos los demás sitios de comida para llevar china que he estado incluye arroz o patatas fritas en el precio pero te cobran por separado aquí.

Lo que necesita saber de este lugar es que está recién cocinado, así que la comida es excelente, sin embargo la orden en buen tiempo durante el fin de semana o tendrá que esperar.

Cuando esté en la zona, siempre puedes ir a la comida para llevar. Ha sido muy buena y siempre hemos disfrutado de la comida china. Los platos de alubias negras y curry son especialmente buenas.

Tasty and plentiful, and was ready on time. I had the duck pancakes and loved that the duck was sliced for me ( i hate trying to get it off the bone ) Would definitely go again!

Absolutely shambles! Rung the order through at 6.30 pm got told it was very busy and we would have to wait until 8pm, 8.15 and only just picked the order up, then to get home and they have missed half the order out, had to drive back down to be told it wasn't ordered and it would take another 30 mins to cook it "because they are busy" absolute joke!! Might as well have gone to china to get it. If your that busy then take on more staff!!! OVER PRICED RUBBISH, SHOCKING STAFF, SHOCKING SERVICE. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Had a takeaway for the first time from here last night as it came highly recommended.And it did not disappoint. The duck dishes we had were just mouth watering,so tender.Also king prawn with tomato and fried rice,was just so tasty.Will be back very soon!

This is one off the better takeaways in the town food is good but very salty. And also I my self have previous ordered my food to get there and it's not ready so have to wait while ppl walk in off the street make an order and they have got it b4 my order with by this time I've waited an hr for my food and the call was 30 MINS before that. And all I got was were sorry from the school kid behind the counter. Due to this won't be using again..

I'm a fussy eater but love the meals at the Peking Chinese Takeaway. Made to order and always delicious. We travel all the way from Kendal to this take away!!! The only drawback is there's often a long wait during busy times so I'd always suggest you order over the telephone in advance.

A good menu, plenty of choice. Food is ready quickly and is reasonably priced. Served piping hot. Was recommended to us by many locals so assume it is a popular choice. We enjoyed the food and nice that the plates weren't swimming in grease when we had finished.

If you like/enjoy Chinese or Peking food, then I strongly recommend you try this takeaway. The staff are very friendly and the food is superb and very reasonable, price wise.

Came here unfortunately as China Essence was closed due to illness and wished we hadn't bothered.Ordered Salt and pepper chicken wings to start as with salt and pepper ribs which were good. However the main was not so good my King prawn was not cooked and was very difficult to eat as it was not far from being raw. My Sister had the King prawn and pineapple dish and quite enjoyed it. Absolute disgust of a takeaway after spending over 20 quid not to get a bag of prawn crackers what the ****. An absolute outrage after all Chinese restaurants and takeaway supply a bag per £10 spend a FACT We would have got two at Essence.. So absolute livid at the fact I spent my hard earned money here never again. An outcry of a bad establishment NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN CHINA ESSENCE HERE WE COME

Its a little pricy but it's the best Chinese in Carnforth. We hate it when it's closed. We just wouldn't go anywhere else from past experiences. Good customer service too

We've been customers here for over a decade. Out of all 3 Chinese take aways this definitely the best. Dave and Sara are great people and all of their staff are always polite and helpful. Never ever been disappointed.

Visited as most others are closed on Tuesday. I was pleasantly suprised. Fantastic food. 1st class!!! I would defiantly visit again.
