Cheap and cheerful food, although not as cheap as it used to be. I ordered the Chicken Curry which looked nice. I wasn't offered a choice of side and was given chips without being asked. I'd have actually prefered rice but wasn't given the option and I couldn't be bothered to query it. The chicken in the curry was unfortunately quite dry, however it did taste quite nice. Kids eat free with a paying adult.

Decent food a affordable prices. Kids eat free with a adult meal. I think most foodies would find something to eat here. Tikka masala and rice, mug of tea and a Sprite wasn't bad for £9.00.

Called here on Friday 22nd for 2 teas husband ordered and was given 2 mugs of tea and you helped yourself to milk which was all fine. Next day we called again and I went to the counter and an old gentleman was doing the drinks. I asked for 2 teas and was given 2 paper mugs both with milk. I said the gentleman I only want 1 with milk. He replied why didn't you say so, I replied I took it you helped yourself to milk. He responded with there is nowhere in Blackpool that does that. He was very rude and the young girl on the till was very shocked she was so embarrassed. Needless to say will not be visiting again.

You get what you pay for and my breakfast was ok. A family came in when I had finished mine , nan, daughter, two teenagers and a little girl .First they complained there was a hair in the food and took it back and was given a fresh one . Then the nan was complaining her toast was like rubber .She called the lad over who was cleaning the tables and complained to him. He said he would go and see someone .Along came a lady supervisor who was very polite to them . Nan proceeded to say about the toast ,then the hair, then the mother started saying she had an egg allergy and how the waitress had proceeded to use the same server that she had used for an egg ,hash Brown's etc, calling this cross contamination and she could have been seriously ill. Really ,they ate the lot though. The supervisor offered them a full refund which was nearly £40. As the supervisor gave them the money back ,one of the teenagers said well done Nan, just had a free breakfast. Let's do it again tommorrow. Just absolutely disgusting and they should be ashamed. Obviously life's complainers. The staff handled the situation well ,and I just wanted to say this. Hope the family read it too, just awful.

Chicken hard, burger rubbery, kids under 10 for kids meal only that's cool asked for a lasagna but because it was only on the kids menu and I wasn't 10 or under I wasn't allowed lasagna tf! Old lady serving has not personality

This place good for space and family food were OK one meal were cold by time we got it I asked for a children's burger meal that keeped me waiting 20 to 25 minutes I went to ask where it were I got attitude from one older wattriess which were out of order she said I told you I'd let you know didn't like her attitude were appuleing .

Used to come here a lot but feel it’s really gone downhill after visiting yesterday. I ordered a cheeseburger for myself. It stated on the menu they are prime beef burgers. It tasted awful and tasted like the cheap ones you used to get in school. Definitely not worth the price. I ate it anyway as I had paid nearly £8 for it and hadn’t eaten anything all day, I had a bad belly last night after eating it. I hadn’t eaten anything else yesterday so could only have been that. Also the attitude in some of the staff leaves a lot to be desired. At first I asked for a pie but was told they had only just gone in so would be a 20min wait, whilst trying to decide what else I wanted, the staff member serving was stood rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing. I nearly walked out only my daughter wanted to stay. The only thing passable was the chips. I doubt I’ll eat there in future. Staff just didn’t seem like they wanted to be there and brought the atmosphere down on what used to a fabulous little place.

Excellent selection of food and me & my friend enjoyed every bit of our meal so we will be back sooner than u think tonight.

Great selection of food and very tasty!. Great value for money and Kids eat free with every adult meal. We all polished off our plates. In a great location, in waling distance and on the prom.

My wife and I always look forward to visiting Peggy’s at least once whenever we visit Blackpool, even when we don’t have time to play in Coral Island. The food is really tasty, there’s a good variety, the portion sizes are just right and the prices are very reasonable. We’ve always found the staff to be cheerful and friendly, and the pirate theming is nicely done. A trip to Blackpool wouldn’t be the same without a stop at Peggy’s and we’re happy to recommend it to anyone.

You know on prison movies where they take their tray up to recieve their slop? Well after this meal that looks pretty appealing! I had a burger and chips which was absolutely rank. The burger was stone cold and dryer than an Arab's sandal. To be fair, the chips were aceeptable but in a town with so many decent fish and chip shops, these frozen offerings were a real let down. There's no excuse for the burgers being so dried out but I know exactly why they were colder than the wind blowing in off the pier - They were plated up and left sitting in the open, going cold while chips were still being made. About eight minutes later the chips finally arrived but by that point the server was so confused by all the plates of food in front of her that I had to break into the growing queue to ask if she'd consider adding some chips to the plate and hand it over. I could have marked this up as a bad experience and moved on but the fact that it was so expensive - around £10 really left a bitter taste in my mouth. No, wait that was the food, or what I managed to eat which as you can see from the picture wasn't very much!

Visited as family of 6. I had the lasagne which was very dry. Chips just average. Curry was ok. Kids meals small (but were free afterall). I hate being made to pay for sauces! The Restaurant area was very clean with a lovely and polite young lad clearing tables. Doubt I would return though!

I have been here many times but if there not serving frozen chips now then there potatoes are shocking the chips certainly tasted frozen not chippy chips gutted.

Food was dry over cooked and Luke warm when we finally got to sit down, one member of staff stuck out like a saw thumb, think her name was Tania or tabby as I heard one of her colleagues call her name. she was very rude and arrogant. Suppose you get what you pay for it’s not exactly a 5 star restaurant but they could do better with the presentation of the food that’s on show. A little staff training wouldn’t go a miss to say the least, if you want good food then don’t go here it’s very basic & outdated. Called in as decided to support a local cafe and omg what a disappointment the cheapest of everything and a fortune for what it was, even the cheap orange cartons normally 40p were £1.50 each not to mention the cakes are £2 which are from the cash n Carry rrp £1 live and learn as never ever again

Went on Saturday 11th July 2020. Food was ok, but they had no cutlery! Apparently they were waiting for more to arrive from the kitchen.A customer near the cutlery said she was waiting for cutlery but dare no ask the member of staff on the till again in case she hit her head off. I asked eventually and was passed a couple of knives and forks with bare hands. By then the food was cold.No point in serving customers if they have no way of eating it! I was ok as I had burger and chips, but my companion had a jacket spud for which cutlery is a requirement.

I had the premium meal of beef lasagne with garlic bread and chips, the hubby had the "famous" fish and chips. The fish was so bland and tasteless and the only thing warm on my plate was the garlic bread. Very disappointed.

We had a sandwich & couple of soft drinks, was enjoyable and did break the bank ... place is clean staff were nice and helpful, also other people’s food looked good ..... I would recommend here was good.....

Was in Blackpool August 2018 and myself, my partner, brother and niece came here for tea it is situated in the Coral Island Amusements the pie and chip was gorgeous and so so cheap. Me and my partner came back the following night after seeing a Britney and it was ok my fish could’ve been better but it was the end of the night. Not a bad place to come for a cheap tea.

Ordered 7 adult meals all meals different. The lasagna very dry no cheese on top and no meat. Pork chop dinner meat very dry meal cold.Half a chicken and chips meat very dry well overcooked.All chips and food was not very warm, the portion size very small, and they charge you 35pence for any sauces.

Usual bog standard cafe affair, jacket potatoes, fish and chips etc. Ideal if you're a family with kids as they do 2 adults and 2 kids meals for £9.99. Offer a premium menu and standard menu. Nothing sparking, average at best

myself and my family went here and ordered 4 meals they were absolutely disgusting and cold my daughters garlic bread was so hard it snapped in two.it is expensive when ordering just adult meals will never be back.

If could give this place a 0 rating i would . Attempted to vist on Wednesday 10th april with my 2 children .(1 of which is needed to eat due to there medication) after being told at the bucenteer resturant that they were no long serving food but that peggys still is . Arrived thinking even if i got my kids something to that would do ...sadly this wasnt the case very rude staff who were taking food away in metal trays..mainly chips which was all my daughter wanted anyway ,would not listen to me stating that we had just been told they were open til 9pm & sent by the other resturant (..it wasnt even 8pm at this point may i add! ) woman member of staff just kept saying we are closed ...shocking behaviour especially when it is in such a busy family orientated place such as coral island

After spending the day in town we decided to go for lunch as the kids are for free. We spent £17 and we all enjoyed the meals. Good value for money.

I love it here to be honest but when going recently after not been for a while I noticed on the rolling advertisement board that there was bangers and mash and feeling like this I went to order but was shocked to see they didn’t serve it and that this was an occasional meal that they served not all the time .. well it shudnt be advertised then I think this is very misleading it’s an easy dish they had sausages but not mash mash isn’t hard to prepare

How can you charge 15 quid for cheeseburger chips and lasagna and make it do poor even I can’t eat it. The worst food I’ve ever had. Eat elsewhere if you like good food

While in blackpool for a few days with my 5 year old daughter we popped in here for dinner. There were a number of issues:

The café (it is not really a snack bar) is a comfortable place with lots of seating although it does get a bit busy at the counter. The half-chicken and chips was most enjoyable with the chicken cooked in the rotisserie behind the counter. Don’t have the fish when you eat here, which they said was Pollock, as it wasn’t great (plenty mush and bleak fillet!) and destroys the idea that you get the best fish and chips at the seaside. Despite what the machine says you will not get decaf coffee here. Prices were reasonable for the dinners but not so much for the beverages. Kids eat free with every adult meal purchased. Staff were generally sociable considering what they must go through. Coral Island, where the café is situated, is smack bang in the middle of the town centre and therefore convenient if you are at the shops or the tower.

Ended up in here for some food because bucaneer was queued out door and knew would be quick as night of fireworks on north pier and we were trying to rush. Was mega busy also and staff were very quick serving although women at till couldve done with chatting less to colleagues and noticing customers. Anyway important bit i had the cheeseburger adult meal chips beans all nice enjoyed it and my 3yr old daughter had nuggets chips and beans. Scoffed all the nuggets and beans she enjoyed also, left the chips but if its not mcdonalds chips shes never interested anyway. So both enjoyed our meals and added fruit juice and bottle of water still worked out a decent price also compared to many places. Would def eat here again if short on time as if not rushing would goto bucaneer.

my wife and I called in for breakfast on the last day of our trip to Blackpool. we queued up at the counter and we ordered the full English breakfast, that was efficiently put together from the ingredients in the ban-Marie. sausage bacon fried egg hash brown fried bread beans and mushrooms £4:75 ( or thereabouts) tea £1 the seating is not the best. I don't like the type of furniture is fastened to the floor but that's only a minor thing. O, I almost forgot. I was 45p short when I got to the till. but the cashier lady said not to worry about it. This is OK for snacks or a quick meal. don't expect fine dining but it is what it is. I'll go back next time I'm in Blackpool.

We ( I don't know why) tried this place for an evening meal last night after an awful eating experience last year. Son ordered sausage and chips but one sausage was taken from a casserole which is not what he wanted, he wanted just sausages by themselves. I ordered Lasagna which looked better than it tasted, it had little flavour other than the acidic tinned chopped tomatoes and the parsley garnish, it was runny with no mince or oregano flavour. My husband ordered a meat and potato pie and moaned that we should have stuck to our original plan to go to the Buccaneer.The worst aspect was that a young family on another table had allowed their child to take all the forks to their table and so there were only knives available. I went to look for three forks when the said little boy replaced about five forks to where they should be, We has to dry wipe all the forks before we ate. Eat elsewhere as this food is only fit for drunks or those who have no idea how to eat or behave in a restaurant.

Just been today with my missus and small baby ( i was one who ordered then left before my food made it to the till ) my missus opted for the thing the proclaim was a sunday roast. When asked if she wanted mixed veg, my missus said "yes, but no carrots please." Then some hagid old rude woman/man put carrots on her dinner and said "its mixed veg". This is not what i ordered, nor is it something i will be paying for. I am the customer, you are the muppet behind the counter on minimum wage. Just give me what i have ordered. Next time dont look so surprised when people walk out after you have prepared the WRONG meal. So unprofessional.

The food is not that impressive (a couple of the staff at the till kept bumping into each other and knocking hot drinks out of each others hands, one almost going over Myself and another Customer).

My partner and our 3 year old visited the cafe today and I was really disappointed! I remember going to that cafe as a little kid my self and always loved it but today I wasn’t impressed. Now I’m not a food snob but there’s a limit, the burger I ordered was completely falling apart and very rubbery and seemed like it had been warmed up and when I asked for some ketchup because it was a bit dry I was told it was an extra 50p after already spending £16 on two meals. The kids meals are free which is brill but I do expect more then 2 chicken nuggets! It’s quite laughable come to think about it but it’s definitely not value for money.

A great value cafe inside Coral Island, with a decent selection of well priced meals for kids and adults alike. I went for the sausage and chips with a choice of beans or peas, and a cold drink. I love the pirate theming of this cafe, it is great fun and just perfect for the seaside! That as well as the nice food and good location make this a great place for lunch in Blackpool.

clearly the staff dont want to be there and are rude abrupt, the food wasnt much to shout about...rubber eggs which looked like they had been there since the previous day. they might of just been having an off day but i highly doubt it.

I have been eating here for the best part of 20 years. i have had the same meal as i have been having since then, its good comfort food. Its not gourmet cuisine and its not up there with great food, but for the price and what you get its good comfort food. Ive never had an issue with staff, but working in retail i know some people can have a miserable look on there face, and yeah ive noticed it but never impacted my visit. The place is clean.

Over in Blackpool for a Sunday afternoon,while on a grandparent visit we'd stopped off in the town,it was a breezy day & we ended up in Coral Island,as it was lunch time i'd seen the sign for the Peggys snack bar,a quick look at the menu,i'm not fussy when hungry..& kids eat free i was on board.

I came here for lunch one day during the week. It was not that busy so easy to find a seat. I ordered the macaroni and cheese and was told I could have chips with it but I declined. The man then enquired to his supervisor as to whether or not I could have it cheaper since I wasn’t having the full meal. She said unfortunately not. I then enquired whether or not I could have a slice of garlic bread instead of the chips. She didn’t seem keen but agreed nevertheless. I was surprised to find that they cooked me a slice of garlic bread to order even though there was one in the counter already. Unfortunately the macaroni wasn’t hot, lukewarm at best. It also didn’t seem to have as much flavour as usual (I’ve had it there before). The visit wasn't up the usual standards but it is cheap and cheerful and will return for a quick bit to eat in future.

We stayed in Blackpool for 2 days. We ate here twice for our evening meals.

I took my family for lunch yeaterday, 3 of us had 1/2 chicken, and 1 had fish, the fish was so greasy it was nearly inedible, all 3 chickens were bloody at the bone, I will NEVER eat there again, and I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, I intend contacting the local council to report the poor standards. DISGUSTING PLACE.

I'm currently sat in this dire establishment as i type.. first of all we encounter a rude member of staff who can't even be bothered to let us know what meals they have on offer. I then explain I've had a gastric bypass I can literally eat a few bites may I please have the kids menu, to be told no you're not under 10... WHY I'm paying less money for less food what difference what bloody age I am when I eat it?. So after paying pull price for a meal she slams it down on the top counter no thank you or enjoy your meal. I then have to step over a huge pond of water that they haven't even noticed.. I tell a member of staff who then proceeded to move the water around with a dirty mop.. No wet floor signs.. in the end it took 5 people and one huge noisy machine to mop up a spillage.. all they needed was someone who actually knows how to use a mop.. but well done to the lovely young fella laughing when he could hear us talking.. he give a me the look of "i know your pain I have to work with these idiots every day".. I feel for you young man I really do.. seriously .. get better staff... people may actually enjoy coming!!! Judging by all the other bad reviews I feel this has been a problem for far too long...

Needed a quick place to eat at a reasonable price and this looked promising, The meals were appalling, Steak and kidney pie microwaved soggy pastry, Chicken nuggets and chips and peas, disliked by all three grand daughters as they were barely cooked and cold, Beefburger...

The staff are horrible and unwelcoming, evidently hate their jobs and just don't care about customer service. The food was primary-school like, reheated, had a lack of options and taste. The tables were sticky, and only one cleaner was on duty all day bless him. If it was cheaper or had better staff and upkeep, it probably would have been alright.

Popped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning so it was fairly busy. Food wasn't too bad just overpriced for what you get and the quality of it. The coffee was very weak and i left most of it.

We came here for lunch whilst on a day trip to Blackpool. The prices are cheap and the portions are large. The special of the day was chicken curry which was nice. i don't know why people twine about this place. What is there to twine about when the prices are so cheap and the food is good? When you walk in you can see that it is a self service cheap & cheerful canteen - what do people expect? If you're after something quick and cheap for lunch then you'll find what you're after here. If you are looking for a proper sit down waited on lunch, then obviously you'll not find that here so why complain? I often come here when looking for something quick in Blackpool and haven't had a bad lunch yet.

Visited this morning for breakfast and so wish I hadn't. I asked if the kids deal included breakfast, and was told they could choose two items, or chicken nuggets or fish fingers with chips, it was 10.30 am, what kids want a lunch for breakfast and how the hell was two bleedin sausages going to fill up an eight year old. In the end decided to order kids a small breakfast which was tastless and vile. The cups of tea were like hot milk, and staff unpleasant. Would rather chew on a brick than eat there again.

We came here a few times during the week. On the first visit we just had a cake and a drink. The cake was good but the coffee was a bit watery, but you can’t expect much from the price. On the second visit I asked what the pasta of the day was. They said they didn’t have any left but would make me a broccoli bake if I wanted to wait. Whilst paying we noticed that the kitchen staff came running out as the sprinklers had gone off! I went to sit down and waited for my meal. I heard the front staff telling people the kitchen had to close. I think they had forgot to tell me that I could no longer have my broccoli bake in all the commotion so I got up and enquired about it. She said I she was sorry and would get me a refund. I really wanted food so I enquired about getting something else instead. She said I could have anything that was left for the same price so I chose the lasagne. The lasagne was very good and the portion was quite big for the price. On the third visit I had the pasta of the day. It didn’t say what it was but it was chicken in what tasted like a pesto sauce. It was very nice but could have done with being a little hotter as by the time I’d paid and sat down it was only warm. I would definitely recommend coming here for lunch as the food is good and the prices are very cheap. If you have any children you can get one free kids meal with every paying adults meal. Yes it is a bit like a staff canteen, but if your paying next to nothing for your food, what’s there to complain about?

Was busy, fair enough, table cleared but not cleaned so was lovely having to flick mashed potatoes off the table. Go up to order 6 meals 2 of which should have been burgers but was told there was none today so ended up with a plate of tomato mince with chips (I think they called it chilli but I doubt it's even seen any seasoning let alone chilli) only to see people behind getting burgers!! Fed up, still hungry.

Lunch time can't be faulted, evening meal wasn't as good service, I understand that people are working all day, 2 drinks orders were wrong & hot food put out not hot, also, staff not listening to what the customer wants

Every time my partner and I go to Blackpool, we always make a stop at Peggy's. The food is beautiful, the staff are all so polite and helpful, the portions are enough to fill you and it is very reasonable on prices

would not recommend here,food was horrid,i had fish and chips with peas,my plate was swimming in oil,peas were like bullets,and the tea was non descript,if you could call it tea.service there was more a chore for staff,

The food was vile. The plates were full of grease and it was like the food had been left in the counter warmer for ages! The onions were hard and dry.The cup of tea was disgusting! There were muxky trays on the clean tray pile.We will not be returning and wouldn't reccommend to anyone!!

From outside it looked attractive. Plenty of seats available.Ordered jacket potato with cheese, however when I started eating it I found a few pieces of the cheese had mould on. I took my plate back to the till but was ignored 3 times, when I eventually asked "can I just show you this" to the cashier, she didn't say a word just walked to her supervisor then came back and said it isn't mould but she would get me another. I said it is definitely mould and I do not want another one. The girl then went on to serve someone else. Customer service gets a big 0 from me.

Thought it looked okay from outside and inside it was quite busy. will never ever eat in this place again, will not recommend this.

Clean and tidy,plenty of seats,friendly staff,everything about the place was good,the food and drink was a let down,most main meals 3.75,the plate was child size,food looked like it been in the trays a while,tea was like stew and coffee was disgusting,nothing fresh at all,wouldn't eat there again,

Peggys Snack Bar liegt direkt beim Coral Island Spielsalon. Mit wenigen Worten, das Essen ist sehr schlecht, absolut nicht empfehlenswert. Wie üblich wird der Gewinn über die Getränke gemacht (Cola 1,95, Cappuichino 2,-).Also besser ein paar Meter laufen in der Umgebung gibt es viele Alternativen.

Visited twice during our holiday as a last minute food stop. Some of the food looked like it had been lying around for a while however me being a vegetarian I never tried it. My parents however enjoyed their food especially the steak pie. At fist glace there didn't look like there was anything I could eat except chips however after asking I found out they had mac and cheese which was not advertised, we had to wait a while for it to arrive however the portion was huge when it arrived and freshly cooked. If you are looking for a quick, cheap place to eat this would be a good place, if you have kids they eat free but be warned portions are tiny. If you are looking for a classy meal stay away as this is more school lunch style.

Kids eat free yea if there small eaters portions size was pitiful 2 nuggets. Price is hiked up with drinks breakfast was inedible toast rock hard safer with a hotdogs from one of the street stalls.

What can I say !!!Cheap and cheerful Blackpool grub. Menu selection is the best of british pies, pasties etc.Prices are quite reasonable and the 'Kids Eat Free' is obviously a marketing ploy to entice families....which works.No more than a three star as food was as Blackpool emphasises so brilliantly cheap but very cheerful.Tip: Avoid during 12-1 as it gets extremely chavvy sorry busy.

Spent a long day at the zoo and decided to have tea befor going home. Been to Peggy's befor so knew we'd be ok. 7 of us in total. 2 adults and 5 kids. All of us got a main meal and large soft drink and came to less than £35. Not top quality restaurant food but good quality food none the less. Fish and chips, Baked potatoes, chicken nuggets etc. All finished with clean plates. If your eating on a budget thne you can't go wrong. Highly recommend.

My family and I was passing and stopped for a snack, the hotdogs, burgers and donuts was lovely.would call again.

Having eaten in Peggys snack bar (situated in Coral Island Blackpool) on numerous visits to Blackpool we once again decided on this as the place for our tea. We wish we hadn't as the food was no-where near the standard it has previously been.Yes 1 child under 10years eats free with a paying adult which is great but this is the best I can say about it.The fish batter was just greasy and the fish inside it seemed really dry as though it had been cooked and left under a heat lamp for ages and then re-dipped in oil to warm it more! The chips were also very greasy and left loads of oil on the plate. 1 of My sons wanted a burger as part of the kids meal but he was unable to as they were all in a dish full of onions which he doesn't like. This was the same for the hot dogs so he ended up with a normal sausage. The mushy peas just looked like green gloop and not very appealing so they had baked beans which were really thick and horrible.I was quite shocked by how bad the food was when we visited, and due to how busy it was and me being on crutches I wasn't prepared to re-que to complain about it. However, I won't be eating here again.

Great Place To Dine And We Seen All The Food Being Cooked Fresh, Not Too Expensive Either And The Kids Got To Eat Free Hearty Selection Of Food And It Was Really Nice, Just Found The Seating To Be A Bit Tight Could Make The Seats A Bit More Roomy But Other Than That It's A Great Wee Place :)

They are advertising 90penny for black coffee. When you are on the till price is £2. Reason is simple no button for Americano. :) unfortunately I have a no button for 5 stars. ;)
