Delicious Eggs Benedict and Avocado with egg on sourdough. Hot drinks nice and hot - the pot of tea was generously sized.

Stopped here to refuel with my son on a weekend cycle along the red squirrel trail from Cowes to Sandown. We each had a sausage and egg baguette & drink. Really nice food and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed it so much we held off having breakfast the following day to stop here for round 2 on return journey. Just as good second time round!

What a fantastic little gem this place is, geared up for cyclist and walkers alike, the burger on the menu was the best I have eaten in a long while, (and I like burgers), very much reccomend

Once again a delicious lunch at Peddlers. We walked along the Squirrel Trail from Alverstone today; a perfect place to refuel.

Aw, what a fabulous find! Met a lovely local lady on the walk who mentioned this cafe so we went to find it. So glad we did. The food was fabulous - plenty of seating, water for the dog.... and if you're a cyclist then there was a fixing station too! Highly recommend.

Cycle friendly, excellent, generous and tasty food. Unable to finish my lunch (mid-cycle), they were happy to wrap the remainder to go.

On a damp and windy cycle trip Peddlars turned up trumps. Located on the Red Squirrel trail it was warm, comfy, welcoming and served a fabulous Oat and Date Slice alongside their teas and coffees. If we are ever passing we will be sure to drop in again.

Amazing spot on IOW. Not clear why the whole island is not here! Delicious coffee, yummy cakes next to a fire overlooking a garden!

As Aussies we are critical of coffee as our culture is addicted to it. Here we had a coffee we were amazingly thrilled with. It was a REAL COFFEE with flavour, depth, texture and truly made with love thank you Emma for creating the best coffee we have had in the entirety of the UK xx

Being a local I did not stay at the hotel but I thought I'd try the food as eating out in Newport is limited to say the least (unless you like pizza/pasta, there are at least 4 of these). I fancied traditional pub food which today is a scarce as all the pubs seem to be in the Gordon Ramsey mode, posh food, very little of it and expensive. The Wheatsheaf’s menu included real pub classics including Steak and Ale pie, Pork Belly, Steak and Chips, Lamb Shank to name a few. For starter’s I opted for the chilli prawns, a generous portion, cooked perfect and presented shell off which saves all that peeling and messy fingers! Starters are all priced at £5.00. I followed this with a perfectly cooked 8oz sirloin steak (med-rare) with lovely crispy chips and a blue cheese sauce accompanied by a nice crisp fresh salad, (which was not just a bowl of leaves like in most places). Although the chips were frozen they were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, perfect, I almost mistook them for the latest fad (3 times cooked chips). The chef must have a trick up his sleeve. The steak was cooked perfect. A field mushroom would have been a nice touch. Here's the good bit, all main dishes are only £10, if you fancy steak you do pay a £4.00 supplement which is fair. Even though I was stuffed I could not resist the homemade Rhubarb Crumble with cream. I managed to eat ¾ of it. Again, all the desserts were priced at £5.00. All I can say is although this pub has had a bad reputation for food in the past this is certainly not the case now, it’s really worth giving it a try.
