Pecoro in Central Bedfordshire

We were craving some really good pizza and decided to give this place a try from the reviews. Did not regret at all, even drove from St Neots to here. We got the bundle with a vegetarian & Athens pizza. Both were top tier! Some of the best pizza we’ve had. Will deff come back.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding this week and we hired Alan and the team at Pecoro to provide pizzas for our guests and I honestly couldn’t recommend them anymore. We had around 180 guests and the feedback we received on the day (and still 2 days later via messages) has been absolutely incredible. People have been non-stop raving about the pizzas being the best they’ve ever had!! The service was phenomenal - even just from the communication pre-event, through to on the day, and afterwards. Like I said before - I’ve lost count of the amount of guests who went out of their way to let us know how bloody good the pizzas were! For anyone considering hiring a pizza van, I 100% fully recommend Pecoro - you won’t be dissapointed!

Absolutely love this place. Gorgeous pizza and welcoming service. Desserts are delicious too, and it’s a lovely place to spend a sunny evening either inside or out. Child and dog friendly 💕

I’ve eaten at Pecoro’s many times and the food has always been excellent. However, my last takeaway from there could have been much better. The pizza’s (x3) were very watery and had clearly knocked over, because all the toppings had fallen to one side of the pizza. We ate what we received, as we were very hungry, but it wasn’t the best experience overall on this occasion. Usually Pecoro’s are excellent and I will eat there again in the future.

Came out for dinner with friends, first time we've sat down at Pecoro for a while (since before Covid) as great as ever the pizza's are excellent and the dough balls are the best I've ever had, so much better that the generic dough balls that you can get a Pizza Express.

Pizza was delicious and the staff were friendly. My wife ordered a pesto chicken pasta which was also apparently delicious, with a good serving size The restaurant itself is small, cozy and good for small parties. Will come back to try the breakfast!

Absolutely outstanding, authentic Italian pizza, truly delicious. Putting the food aside customer service was really warm and friendly and I really enjoyed my experience here definitely not my last time. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

All I had was a coffee, the only eating was pizza so I didn't order

If you are looking for a lovely stop by the road for some delicious pizza, desert, and drinks look no further! You cannot chose anything wrong on their menu and the staff are wonderful. I had the bischero, Quattro formagio and Greek salad. Wrapped it up with some pastry and coffee and left stuffed!

Only used for takeaway. Amazing pizzas. Always of great quality.

Very cute, clean place and friendly and fast service, unfortunately I found the pizza not very good and maybe needed more time in the oven? I hate to waste my food so I ate anyway and was hungry and didn’t want to ask them to do that. The pizza toppings were very watery (I got the meat pizza) slid off easily and the cheese reminded me of cheese on frozen pizzas in its texture and taste though I am sure that was not the case. The crust was very good though! Nevertheless, I will give it another try one day because its so close to me.

A lovely, sweet little authentic Italian! I was amazed at the size of the pizza for the price and the adorable little restaurant was just perfect. Staff were friendly and the food was served quickly. I was amazed to see they also do breakfast so will be returning to try. Great experience! Oh, tiramisu is a big recommendation from me!

Excellent food and service at this small town centre restaurant. In my opinion, the seating is a little uncomfortable, and the room can be a little on the cool side during the winter months. The food, however, is thoroughly recommended

A compact venue. Looks much nicer in the inside than out due to getting a grant some years ago to have a plastic clad extension built. Food and drinks at a sensible price. Let's say it's one step up from spoons. They have a full menu with plenty to keep you fed

Without a doubt the best gluten free pizza I have ever had. We attended as a party of 15 for a birthday. There were a variety of dietary requirements and everyones need was met. The service from the staff was amazing they could not do enough for us to make the evening special. I while heartedly reccomend Pecoro as a place to eat and my only criticism is I don't live closer for more frequent visits!

Visited as a party of 15 for a birthday celebration with children and adults. The staff could not do enough to make our visit special and to meet our needs. As a coeliac I was amazed by the gluten free base it was by far the best gluten free pizza I have ever had, and I've tried a lot. This is a really special establishment and I can't praise them enough for making our evening so special.

We've been loyal customers of Pecoro for almost two years now, drawn by their quality ingredients and delightful staff. However, our recent experience left much to be desired. Our pizzas arrived in a sorry state, seemingly mishandled during delivery. Upon contacting them immediately, we were informed that they were 'having a bad day with mozzarella' and offered a refund. The explanation left us perplexed, prompting a quick Google search to understand what it meant. If they were indeed struggling with their mozzarella supply, they should have halted sales of items reliant on it. This incident wasn't an isolated one; similar mishaps had occurred before, including missing extra paid-for toppings and forgotten items such as drinks, making ordering from them a gamble each time. Regrettably, these repeated shortcomings have led us to seek alternatives.

Nice little place, lovely people and great food

The perfect place for a coffee, gelato, pizza or dough balls. It really is all fantastic, you’ll be stumped for choice. Dogs are welcome as well and my pooch is always trying to get me to pop in for a cannoli. Couldn’t ask for more. Staff are super nice and friendly, would always recommend.

Service was immaculate, it had a nice relaxing atmosphere, and the food was impeccable. Only complaint that comes to mind would be that the toppings of my pizza slid off when I took a slice. Other than that, it's perfect.

Met friends here for a social catch up and we had their pizza. It was lovely. The staff are warm and friendly and the service is quick. I’d recommend booking a table as it often fills up and seating is limited, especially on bad weather days, as you can discount the outdoor seating which is lovely in the summer.

Attended an art evening, with very tasty buffet food.

My friend lives in Sandy and always talk about this place, they are an authentic Italian Pizzeria with an Italian owner in the middle on Bedfordshire. Amazing Pizza, she said 15 min Pizza and its true. Also all the italian classics like cannoli and tiramisu. Worth the trip from London.

Very good pizza, from an Italian that love pizza. The other place that try to make pizza in Sandy they can close today, in Italy they wouldn’t even think to sell and call it pizza. They would close tomorrow, infact dominos opened in the north of Italy and close 2 month after. It doesn’t exist. If you want to try a good pizza, than Pecoro is the place. Probably price is ok, compare to other pizzeria around.

Delightful, cosy in both warmth in Jan and the atmosphere, fantastic pizza. Really lovely discovery and we will certainly be back.

Amazing food, I love their pizza's, highly recommended

Recently visited Pecoro, and it's worth mentioning that the place is dog-friendly, which is a nice touch for pet owners. However, my overall experience was a bit underwhelming. The Margherita pizza, priced at £9.50, didn't quite meet expectations in terms of flavor and texture. The Focaccia lacked the care and attention to detail that could elevate it to a memorable dish. On a positive note, the atmosphere is warm, and the fact that it's dog-friendly adds a welcoming touch. The Chocolate Cake, at £4, was thinly sliced and didn't quite live up to the price point. Service was okay, and I believe there's potential for improvement in the quality of ingredients and presentation. While the dog-friendly aspect is commendable, I felt Pecoro falls short of being a standout dining experience.

Great food, excellent and attentive service, and a lovely cosy atmosphere. Definitely recommend it here if you're looking for a good feed in a relaxed and intimate space!

We ordered 5 trays plus a gluten free pizza for delivery for a family gathering. The communication in advance was superb, the delivery was on time, the pizzas were hot and most importantly tasted amazing! All of our guest were very happy and full! Thank you to Alan and the team. We've been to Pecoro a couple of times now and everytime the food and service is great. There was a big party of us last night and they were also dealing with a wedding order. This didn't affect anything at all! Everyone was happy, food was tasty and service excellent. So happy this is local to us.

Ate in. Was a very small place, but they had enough seats for us to not book on a weekday. Really casual and friendly vibe. Great pizza at a good price.

Lovely coffee and very friendly Staff

Our first Pecoro experience and we loved it! I ordered takeaway pizza and tiramisu (and two cheeky cannoli) online to collect at 18:20 on my way home from work, a Friday treat. It was ready to pick up bang on time and it was all delicious. Approx £32 for 2 great pizzas, a portion of tiramisu (very generous) and the cannoli. 👌🏻 We’ll definitely do it again sometime and would love to eat in sometime too.

Such a lovely pizza place, can’t believe we’ve only just found it but so happy it’s local to us. We’ll definitely be ordering again. Our pizzas were delicious and staff were happy & helpful. So refreshing, love it.

Have wanted to visit for some months. We were lucky enough to get a little table inside. The best pizzas and great service from lovely young staff. Their aperol spritz is great too.

Having not been here for quite a few months, scratching our heads as to why we've left it so long! Everything about this place is perfect - better than Pizza Express, better than Prezzo etc. etc. etc. Service was spot on, and the way they dealt with my kid's nut allergy was much appreciated. Will be back, and won't leave it so long next time!

We've eaten in a couple of times, and tonight have had a delivery for the first time. Absolutely brilliant, and so tasty. Very highly recommended. -- Just had a second delivery. Just as good. Just as tasty. So much better than the 'chain' pizzerias.

This place is a little gem. Coffee was strong and as an ex-barista I can confirm, properly made. The home made cannolis were banging! Will definitely recommend.

This is such a little gem in Bedford/Sandy area. I went there twice, one for pizza and one for drink Had the ham and cheese pizza, apple pie gelato, and pumpkin spice latte. Omg they are all very good! Reasonable price, welcoming staff and delicious food. They got me as a frequent customer now

2 years of repeat custom and tonight they've lost a customer. Order well over an hour late b4 eventually cancelling. After it being 30 minute's late we called and overheard staff saying its been left on top of the oven. So wouldn't have been hot or fresh. After hearing this and waiting another 30 minutes we decided to cancel, it was just too late to continue waiting. The person taking our call said "we have another customer who wants to cancel." They had 1 driver and clearly it was a challenging situation, one I understand they will be addressing. A good wil gesture would have gone a long way. They really missed a trick, could have offered some discount on our next order to retain our business. Instead we got a full refund and no food. Reluctantly we will take our business elsewhere out of principle. Such a shame as always found the staff and delivery service to be polite and punctual. The food always great. Since posting this, we have recieved an apology and the refund has been delivered to our door.

I was so shocked at how the standards have suddenly fallen, staff seem to be more interested in each other than the customer now, I went in with my family for a.meal at lunchtime and was disappointed with the experience compared to our last visit

Ordered a pizza for delivery, took 1 hour 30 mins to arrive, even though the estimated time was 45 mins. Tried to call but phone was constantly engaged. When arrived dough balls when burnt to a crisp. Been using here for over a year and was great at first, last few times has been a similar experience to tonight. Not good

This is a lovely little pizzeria with a casual approach. A simple, but full menu of pizza options, with probably the best gluten free pizza base we’ve tasted for a small extra cost We love the low key atmosphere, great service and wonderful pizzas. If you love pizza in Sandy then you should definitely give them a go! Bellisimo!

The best pizza I have ever had. Simple as that. Full of flavour and amazing choices for meat eaters and vegetarians. The perfect takeaway choice for a night in with friends and the perfect choice for lunch out or dinner with family. They put on beautiful events with live music and the community feel is something that cannot be compared.

The pizza in this place is AMAZING !!!!

The staff were friendly and welcoming, but sadly there isn’t much else to say in the restaurants favour. Our high chair was very dirty and the food was sub-standard. Our pizzas were a bit soggy, sparingly topped and undercooked. The salad was nothing more than a bowl of pizza toppings. The restaurant is on the cheaper side but you really can taste the savings.

Excellent food , helpful friendly staff... Recommend highly and will definitely be back.

Cool cafe in Sandy; excellent coffee with a range of alternative milks available. Great selection of tea as well. Loved the coffee and walnet cake. Staff were welcoming and friendly and service was excellent. Has become a favourite and will be going regularly I'm sure.

Cozy hygie atmosphere. Orange and beautiful decoration. Food served quiet fast. Good capucino with gingerbread aroma. Great hot chocolate. Pizza was delicious and the avocado sandwich.
