Fantastic place great staff lovely food, be warned portions are big!!

Effortless & friendly staff even though the place was packed full. We expected a wait being a large table but this was not the case for any of the courses. Everything came as ordered and great portion sizes. My only complaint was my food envy and we will have to return for the fabulous looking roasts that were being served. The Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

I recommend this restaurant. One of the best in the area. Reserve a table in advance and be prepared to spend the same amount. Still, it's worth it.

Visited for the first time yesterday. The meals were absolutely perfect. We were seen to very thoroughly and despite busy, we were served appropriately. The deserts topped it all up and we left very happy about this place. Credits to the chefs and all the staff at La Bella Calabria. Will definitely come back again.

OMG, family of 4, first time visit, staff were so so friendly, we had a starter each and a main course each, food was absolutely amazing, and the portion size perfect. When we arrived the restaurant was bursting but regardless we were seated very promptly, our waitress was Camilla who took our drinks order as soon as we were seated and within minutes were on the table. She gave us a little while longer to take our food order, we asked if we could change a few pizza toppings, which she took and came perfect. Thank you guys for a great evening for our Daughters Birthday.

Absolutely love this place, my families favourite local. Had a big meal of 21 yesterday, the process could not have been more smooth from start to finish and everything got brought out together with not one complaint! Highlyyyy recommend!

Great food, great service, exceptional pricing against what is served. Venue is very clean and can see it gets busy very quickly. Highly recommend and will be returning. I have paid for more expensive high class Italian restaurants, and did not get the great service and food like I did here. Note that portion sizes for kids and adults are big, so go in hungry. I couldn't even face desert, settled for a coffee just to mellow my belly. Tried the kids & Mrs' ice-cream, very tasty and original flavours. Will be taking the extended family when they come to visit.

If you want an Italian meal. This is the place to go. Food was Fantastic service was very quick the waitresses were very polite and friendly. And the atmosphere although was quite load we were able to have a conversation.

We went on Saturday night, the restaurant was very busy, but the serving speed was fast, and the waiters were very friendly. It was the first time my daughter finished her kids' meal, and the portions for adults were also generous and delicious. We will definitely come back.

We had a family birthday celebration and the restaurant set the table for us with a balloon and candles for the dessert etc. The food was good quality. The only let down being the starter of prawns, whitebait and squid, which was overcooked and the oil on the batter was a little old. If the restaurant cooks can watch out for that and check the oil, everything else will be 100%. The rest of the food was good sized portions and well presented and cooked nicely, with a good balance of sauces vs pasta. The pizzas were great, with authentic tastes from many trips to the Med. A good restaurant to enjoy a selection of Italian dishes. They were generously topped and the base was as I would expect to find in a good pizzeria. The waiting staff were very well trained and the small touches of quality shone through. The repeat of the order with each of us to confirm was assuring, and she made sure she was looking at us individually as she went through the order, which was good when people had ordered same or similar dishes. Clean throughout, nicely and tasteful decoration. Loads of parking.

Satisfied. Definitely. I was so full, i had to stop myself from getting dessert. But i'll come back for more next time. Bring more people in. The Bruscheta alla pugliese & carbonara were divine. The Alette di pollo (chicken wings) were a bit to sweet & saucy to my liking. But i'm a chicken wing addict. What can i do? Haha. Food prices are adequate to it's serving size, the drinks will make u spend more though. The serving sizes were superb, the pasta were al dente and craving satisfied.

We ordered misto frutti di mare but all that tomato sos we didn't enjoy, I think they changed the recipe Ori they bring us something else 🤷 it was more potatoes, carrot and broccoli plus the soup so not so many frutty di mare and it's not very cheap dish.I enjoy the dessert crema catalana.

Lunch is an absolute bargain but still very good quality. I had the salt and pepper squid, a tad overcooked but didn't look like an onion ring, a sure fire sign of shoo brought rather than home made and the penne amatraciana was delicious. I will definitely be back

A fantastic night, we had 13 adults and 2 children and the staff catered for us perfectly.

Excellent service, very welcoming and really look after their customers. The food is delicious, of high standard and arrived super quick during our lunch visit. The options are good and the menu is fairly priced. Highly recommend this for anyone searching a great Italian in the local area.

We went here on Saturday, for our 4 or 5th visit now. It is great food every time and a good service the only downfall is it can be a bit loud when busy but the service is always good and the food is amazing 😍😍 100% recommend!

To be honest we have used this restaurant for a while. The food that we have had eating in has turned from great into eating in a roadside cafe. The food ordered for a takeaway the last few times has been barely warm. We would not recommend this place to anyone at all. If there is a reply saying that the food was hot, believe me that I know food temperature and have been involved in the food industry for many years and I know what is hot and what is Luke warm. If they try saying about the time to take it home... It takes less than two minutes. Be prepared.

The portions are quite generous for an italian, I've been to other places that had much smaller pizza, meat and less rissotto that felt like a light snack. Their rissotto was amazing. I genuinely surprised and couldn't have any room for dessert. Wasn't expecting that I would get as much as I got. Quite a lot of people went there to celebrate their birthdays.

Always amazing here excellent fresh food and plentiful

Most of the sea food items were over cooked and didn’t have much flavour. It seems as if our table was forgotten about most of the time. A plus was my mother’s food was good the veg lasagna as it was her birthday and my daughter’s steak was perfect.

Positively surprised, great restaurant. We've never had a good restaurant in Houghton, so I was sceptical when people recommended La Bella Calabria. However, I was beyond wrong to be sceptical, and I understand why people recommend it. Great food and great service, highly recommend.

Lovely place… food is not good at all ( for Italian standard), but in comparare with other restaurants around…. This is not bad. I ate ‘calzone’ and the filling was a little salty.

Absolute favourite place for a monthly date night , or a nice lunch date. My husband and I frequently visit the restaurant. The food is amazing and the staff is so friendly and helpful. We went there yesterday evening as well for my husband’s birthday. Now, generally I have issues with light, mobility (it’s not visible, but it affects sitting mainly) and if busy, I can get a bit overstimulated (we tend to do weekdays for this reason when it’s a bit less busy but birthday is birthday:)). So i can’t tell how much I appreciate staff being so accommodating and helpful. It’s definitely the friendly staff members that keep us keep coming back. Having brilliant food is like a super bonus. It’s worth booking a table, especially weekends and holiday seasons. Also, you can order pizza (maybe other things too, not sure) for collection too. Which is great because they do very nice ones. So 100% recommend.

The only restaurant in Dunstable with real Italian taste, as regular customers on the last visit, I was disappointed about my risotto with mushrooms and chicken as wasn't cooked properly for the original recipe. The rest is amazing, keep it up!

The owner of the restaurant was very rude, he was annoyed because of our kids, I understand everything, but my 1 year old can’t understand that she can’t go out of her chair because he is busy doing phone calls, he looked several times with a bad expression at my daughter, and like any normal parent I don’t like it. We were very disappointed to see an angry face when we were trying to have a nice evening out, with our money. The owner doesn't deserve even 1 star!! Shame on you!!!!

I do not recommend going with children because the owner seemed very disturbed. It was very rude!!

I went for my mothers birthday party and everything was great. The food, service and prices. Also the bathrooms were some of the cleanest toilets i have ever seen.

Probably the first time I've left a restaurant feeling hungry, I ordered a Santa Maria casareccia the food tasted nice but the portion was so small considering the price of £13.95, wish I had taken a photo. I'm not a big eater and it still wasn't enough, not sure where they hid the garlic mushrooms that were supposed to come with the meal. Other than that the service was good and what was there tasted nice but I probably won't return.

What's not to like..it's a perfect place to have a family meal (or Friends). In loved the rack of lamb and the shared salmon starter was lovely too.

Nice place in nice location. Tasty food

The food was not fresh and and the spaghetti carbonara was very fat and the cheese on the pizza tasted stale. The service was great and the waitresses were great. The prices where also very high taking on the fact the food wasn't the best and under expectation.

The food was under expectations, tastes not fresh. The pizza was very very salty, spaghetti too fatty and chicken Calabrese so far by the original recipe . Very disappointed! I won't recommend it to someone who wants a good food, not huge but bad portions.
