Peaks Sports Bar & Diner in Sheffield

Limited menu but very tasty, this is a bar not a restaurant so not expecting a restaurant style menu. £5 membership fee for a year is very reasonable I think you can bring 2 guests with you for that price. Lots of English pool, American pool and snooker tables, darts and big screen Tv's to watch sports. Really enjoyed it, friendly and efficient staff. Thanks to Guy (the Chef) for the great food.

First time visiting and was blown away by the friendly and welcoming staff. The entire visit was seamless and the atmosphere was great. Will definitely make a return visit.

I spent a full evening with my son and his girlfriend had a wonderful evening brilliant food !! The service was outstanding !! Bearing in mind !! 30 years ago, I joined the club When it was frames .. How times have changed .. Seriously, incredibly clean amazing food and amazing Staff !!!!!

I was at your place at night at 22:00 04.10.2024 and got a parking fine of £100! It used to be possible to park for free! I won't come to you again

Wonderful place to play pool, darts or snooker. We're regulars to play pool, and we're always well looked after. Food is great value and quality, and there's plenty of great sport on all the TVs around the place. Atmosphere is always good whenever there's an event on. Really good venue, love it.

Love coming in here for drinks and pool after work. Favourite spot in Sharrow Vale. Staff are fantastic - Carys and James are so personable and lovely! Tracie the manager is also a legend <3

Great friendly place to be with friends and play pool/snooker/darts.

This is a members only club, £5 for a membership, and 'cant be on the premises without one' according to staff. No signs or indication that it is a members club until you try and order a drink. Went to watch the football as we have visited in the past, however, will not be returning due to rude staff and membership requirements.

Me and my friends came to play some pool and have a few drinks to celebrate. I am very experienced in hospitality management which is why I am writing this review I didn’t eat so can’t comment on the food. My poor review is down to the incredibly inhospitable and rude manager. We have been to this bar before and had a lovely time but this is the first time we have met this women. The atmosphere is very dry and dull which we thought was odd the first time we went there. However the second time we realised it is because it’s a members only bar which creates this poor atmosphere as the other customers there are very up themselves. Upon arrival, we were chased by this manager who was shouting after us. She explains we should never have been let on the premises without a membership, even though we have just walked through the door 10 seconds ago. We explain we’re trying to find our friend and in an extremely patronising and rude tone she told us we can’t move until one of us pays for a membership. We said we’d been before and not had to be a member to which she said ‘couldn’t have happened’ as opposed to what actually happened which was her staff didn’t ask us. Being a member at this bar is a terrible place as the pool and darts are an extra cost every time you play and are extortionately priced at £10 an hour. Drinks and food aren’t cheap either. In conclusion, this women is a disgrace to all hospitality staff and unless you consider yourself better than other people, do not go to this bar. As mentioned, I didn’t eat or drink so I was planning on only paying for the pool but ended up forking out £20 on pool as well as the membership fee even with my student discount and only being in the venue for an hour and a half. P.S. this bar would be my favourite place in Sheffield if they had better staff and a less stuck-up atmosphere, as well as acceptable prices so this really should be something worth looking into for this company

We have been to peeks a couple times with absolutely no problem just to play some pool and it was never too expensive, however this time we were charged £5 for walking through the door as apparently you have to be a member to be there. We then played pool for an hour and a half and were overcharged £20 when it should have been a considerable amount less, the lady who is the manager was very rude when charging us £5 to become a member even threatening to fire staff who hadn’t asked if we were members on previous occasions when we were last there. The manager is very patronising and treated us as if we were less competent because we are students and she is a disgrace to service standards. I have never experienced anything like this before and I’m really disappointed as I think it’s a great venue and place to relax and we were starting to go on a regular basis, however I won’t be returning.

I didn't have food so not fair to rate it on here. Drinks was a bit steep on price and staff was a bit unfriendly but apart from that, it's a lovely establishment and got really good pool/snooker tables and darts. Covered with TVs everywhere to watch live sport and lovely rooms decorated with all sorts of crazy artwork. Great food, excellent friendly service all within a really brilliant venue. It was recently refurbished with excellent design and both the snooker tables I played on were in brilliant condition. The staff were extremely welcoming and warm. I can't wait to come back again when I'm next in Sheffield!

Great spot, good English& American pool tables, big snooker tables at the back. Playing darts is available too. TVs showing live sports and mega food! Would recommend their cheesy garlic bread; to die for!

Good place to while away an evening trying to put some balls into pockets. There are plenty of both snooker and pool tables and a good set up for darts as well. Slightly shocked by paying £2.60 for a pint of blackcurrant and Soda water - will stick to alcohol next time!

They secretly sign you up to an annually recurring £5 payment to be able to play which you have no means of tracking, they don’t send any message re. Notice of renewal, and they then refuse to issue a refund. Shady business practice, member of staff I spoke to on the phone couldn’t care less.

Great atmosphere, good food, and brilliant staff. I don't live in the area but I make the journey as often as I can for some food, pool and snooker. It's always a pleasure. Parking is simple too.

No prior information on this place before popping in wanting a drink after a meal elsewhere. Waiting at the bar for 5 mins while other people served to be told it’s members only. Not signed anywhere or I wouldn’t have bothered climbing the stairs

So much better than when it was a Riley’s, one of the best sports bars in the city.

First time visiting. The staff were great and both my son and I enjoyed the pool game. A selection of snooker, American and British pool. Parking was a bonus as it's not easy to find parking in the area. Imagine it wouldn't be as easy as busy times though. Online booking was easy (I liked the fact that on arrival it was written in a paper diary, old school and reliable).

I called in for a beer today with my wife. Apparently a membership is required, as the very rude woman behind the bar (short woman with brown hair, I didn't catch her name) bluntly exclaimed "Are you a member? It's not a pub, it's a club, you need a membership". She didn't offer me a membership or provide details on how to become a member. I felt like she was kicking me out and didn't want my money! It doesn't say anything on the door about membership being required, which would be useful. I looked online and it's only £5 for an annual membership, which I would've happily paid had it been offered to me, but not after being spoken to like that... Rude!! I feel sorry for your members if that's the level of customer service on offer! It's a shame as it looks nice and modern inside, but customer service and first impressions are everything and they have failed in that department IMO.

Difficult to get a pool table, during busy periods it would be fair to limit players to 1 hour.

Me and my friends visit once a week. Can't fault this place at all. The staff, the tables and the food is all 5* highly recommend

Fantastic place, great refurb and a large selection of drinks! It’s just a shame the manager -Tracy- lacks any sort of customer service, rude and arrogant to both customers and staff.

Only went in hoping for a pint with the missus as the lescar was rammed, climbed all the stairs to be told i had to be a member to buy a drink, no mention of it being members only at the entrance, just says sports bar, shame as it looks a nice place.

Great place.. beers are devent . Got shouted at an angry man as we were too loud playing pool. He was also playing pool. His words were 'people are playing snooker down there' not sure if he thought Jimmy white and Stephen hendry were playing...

Extremely rude blonde hair women at the bar on entrance. Walked in and straight back out again. Must have woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Attitude stinks. No thanks.

A great place to come with friends/teenagers. Food excellent (burgers especially!) and good atmosphere. Friendly staff and lots to do with different types of pool and darts. A bit of a hidden gem.

This is a great bar and snooker/pool/darts space. Some great beers, and even the food is good. Love it here. The Scottish manager is always up for friendly chat, even when Eng were playing 👍👍

Nice place with plenty of screens for sports. Snooker tables kept clean. Drinks are a little expensive but expected due to zombie government and Ukraine war.

A big Thank you to Tracie who was extremely professional in sorting out an issue for me. Its really re-assuring to know there still good people around to sort out problems when they crop up .

Horrible staff. Went to watch Morocco game yesterday, and blonde woman behind the bar wouldn't put the game on unless I spent £5 on membership. I should've been stronger and said no but I didn't want to cause a scene. She robbed me of £5, awful woman. Never going back

Good at what it does - some of the patrons could be more considerate though!

Staff were great here, the manager was friendly and recommended the Pina Colada which was delic!! The tables were a little spenny, but overall a nice experience.

Great venue. You need to join buts it's only a fiver for the year. Pool, snooker, darts and Sky Sports. It's cheap too and the food, chicken wings for example, are good value for money.

Great place now it's been brightened up, decent menu, good food and very reasonable. Outside area downstairs on the front and balcony seating up top. Friendly knowledgeable manageress and staff.

Just joined with my family, not a pool addict but really enjoyable. Lovely staff especially the waitress Alice who served us our food. Was always checking up on us. Very accommodating.

Great little place to play (American and British) pool and Snooker without having to traipse into the city centre. The blue cheese pizza is also excellent!

Came here with work mates yesterday for a few hours... What a place! The pool tables are immaculate, the food was insanely good, and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Tracey (think that was her name) was lovely! Really chatty, couldn't do enough for us! Will definately be going again. Little bonus, the owner showed me the downstairs function room (seen in the pic) which is really well decorated and is available to hire and very very good price!

I've been a few times to Peaks now and have got to say it is the most improved club I have ever seen in my entire life. The staff are friendly and the manager has great authority and doesn't suffer fools gladly. The beer and tables are great and I have heard good things about the food. Keep up the good work!

I've been the Peaks many times now and its my place to go for a sports/games evening. The food and atmosphere is great. It's a very inclusive place where you don't get one type of person - which is nice to see. I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews about the manager, personally I think she's great, always have a laugh with us. Sounds like some people can't take getting a telling off when they're being a nobhead!

We walked in expecting a nice night of football, how wrong we were. You will have the displeasure of an overtly aggressive blond woman (I assume the manager) meeting you upon arrival. Seriously, unpleasant and unnecessarily rude. I never leave reviews, in fact this is the first one I’ve left, but this woman is a proper Karen and should be avoided. No way to treat your customers.

Horrific, didn't even get to play pool! The blonde lady is a horrible human, don't even bother climbing the stairs to go in. Can totally believe the other reviews having experienced it for myself! This place surely won't last long with her behind the bar unfortunately

Group of 8 on a stag do - we were meant to be doing rounds of pubs in the area but ended up staying in here to shutting haha! (And it was only the second stop) lol. A lovely bar matched with even lovelier staff. All staff extremely polite and professional. Big shoutout to Tracey, gem of a woman with good banter! (Still can’t play darts though) lol. Will 100% be back - if you’re ordering food get the nachos, you won’t regret it.

Was here the other week for my first time with my family, coming from scotland. The food was lovely and the staff were really helpful and polite, especially the manager who made us feel very welcome. Definitely recommend the nachos!!

Reading the reviews, we were there that night. Your group was out of order, one of you verbally attacked the manager on a personal level about her appearance which i found disgusting behaviour. Behaving in a threatening manner towards all staff members, older man in your group even tried to get behind the bar to get to one of the members of staff. Quite frankly I think peaks manager and all the staff handled a group of very aggressive drunk people extremely professionally. Our group love the place, shocked at the couple of people that seem to have issues. Beginning to wonder if people are singling the manager out because she's Scottish. Overall Peaks is a great place to eat and socialise.

Visited with my friend last week to play snooker. Have previously been when this was the old Riley’s. Atmosphere is much improved, less dark and more vibrant than the previous club. Little slow to be seen to at bar. Didn’t try food but options seemed decent. Snooker was now in a separate room downstairs which provided a quieter, nicer atmosphere. Tables showed their age but were decent. We’ll be back for another game for sure!

I have never in my life met a ruder manager. I assume she was the manager anyway? with how clearly self entitled she felt about herself. I could not agree with the comments previously said about her more. Avoid at all costs. She is so unbelievably condescending. Should not be in hospitality in the slightest.

Rudest blond manager ever, this women is the rudest person in hospitality I have ever met. Please avoid unless you want your night ruined. Physically pushed and verbally abused my family. Will not be returning.

Great place! Highly recommended visiting. Atmosphere is brilliant & they make sure the tables are well looked after! Drinks/Food are to a great standard.
