5 months ago left negative review which manager responded, do tried again yesterday and can say glad I did, had great food and service to match the always great atmosphere. Special recognition of Kirsty and great friendly service.

We went to the Peacock for Sunday lunch with family. Despite living in the area all our lives, we have never heard of this pub/restaurant and what a find it is! The food was so tasty and the service and attention were 2nd to none. We will definitely be back bringing our immediate family with us. Thanks so a great experience.

Me and my partner came for a lovely 2 course meal and were not disappointed, we usually come here when we have time for a meal together and always enjoy it. Our waitress was lovely as well (had a few tattoos)

The premises were welcoming and a good atmosphere, the service was excellent and the food was excellent.

Ordered mashed avocado - served with dry bloomer bread. Not enough bread and cold gave benefitted from a little butter.

As a family we expect a little bit of magic when you book a quite expensive Christmas dinner, when we arrived the pub was very basic with hardly any Christmas decorations, the barman seemed very miserable with no merry Christmas forthcoming, there was no table cloth on the table just 4 crackers, hardly Christmassy, Staff seemed very rushed, we sat down and received our welcome drink, although no drink i.e. orange juice for the children offered instead of the bubbly for the adults, the starters were brought out more or less straight away after only being sat down for 5 minutes and again all very rushed, my starter was salmon, not very much salmon either and not smoked salmon just crumbed small pieces, good prawns though, the starters were finished and table cleared and more or less straight away the main was brought out, very very rushed, its like give us a chance to digest the starter, I ordered the steak as I'm no fan of Christmas dinner, my steak was cooked to perfection, the rest was fit for the bin, the potatoes were in my opinion were deep fried, all very over cooked, rubbish veg that clearly had been sitting on the side for some time, there was peppercorn source in a small vessel but no gravy for the veg, all very dry, not worth what we paid, again the table was cleared and i had to ask for a break before the puddings, the puddings turned up about 10 minutes after i asked for the break, if you are struggling with the capacity reduce it so people have more of an experience especially with it being Christmas, very poor indeed and we wont go back

Fantastic restaurant with great quality food and friendly service. Staff, particularly Keira, were all very friendly and quick, we did not feel that we had to wait at all. The food was simply amazing. And to top things, the atmosphere is very cozy, relaxing and importantly the place is spotless! Finally, the automatic lights in the car park were a nice touch.

Evie was great! Super attentive and always on hand if we needed anything else. Food was delicious and the setting of the restaurant is cosy and modern.

Nice place good service. My food was borderline, gammon overcooked, and chips Luke warm. But others in the group said food was good, but not great. May go again, for second chance, but we'll see how it goes.

I'm not one for writing reviews but after one of the worst meals I have ever eaten out, I felt obliged to do so. Admittedly the service was fine, but the food ... I had a Korean chicken duo of which the bit of crispy chicken was acceptable but the main portion of chicken was bland microwaved tasteless chicken with a vile gloop sauce poured over it accompanied with a small pile of tasteless warmed microwaved rice. My friend had the cumberland sausages that he had to leave as they too were tasteless over microwaved nonsense. The next table had fish which while I can't comment on the taste it smelt far from fresh. Apparently chef and brewer are a chain this pub is part of, I won't be eating at one of them again, how can they charge over £15 for microwaved rubbish. There should be some sort of licensing so pubs that serve microwaved meals have to state when it is so you're not conned into thinking it's freshly cooked food.

No drink service in the Bar, had to go round to the lounge to buy beer ! 😪😪

My family spent Christmas Eve at the Peacock for a pre Christmas meal. I have to say from the time of booking to last night when we arrived was excellent. Mia took charge of our party of 10 and dealt with our drinks and food order in a friendly and professional manner. She was attentive to our needs even taking the difficult orders of the children in our party who had difficulty choosing their meals. We were so impressed with the food and service that we are considering booking again for next year. Merry Christmas to you all x

Pub is lovely service is good . It's the 2nd time I have been here and the Menu is OK, but the food is not the best. Six of us had a meal there and only 1 of them was OK . They just need a better Chef...

Mia really looked after us. Food excellent. Can't believe it's so close to Kings Norton- really feels like it's in the countryside. Doesn't feel like a chain.

Our group Christmas meal - good service, excellent food, nice atmosphere, highly recommended.

We five ladies went for a meal and chose from the set Festive Menu. There were only two starters on the menu, as opposed to four offered on the online one, but the main (turkey) I chose was delicious; trifle was okay, but I was told the cheesecake with ice-cream was fab.. There were Christmas crackers on the table waiting for us and the gentleman serving us was brilliant, very helpful and accommodating. Great traditional atmosphere. I'd go back next year.....

Absolutely beautiful. We stopped in for a quick lunch while in the area and so pleased we did. The food is amazing and generous in portion size, the staff are accommodating and friendly. The venue is gorgeous and beautifully decorated (we are here in the Christmas season, so extra pretty!), with stunning outdoor areas and plenty of space to enjoy your food, drink and company. Thoroughly recommend this place 👌

The Sunday lunch was out of this world. The beef rib outstanding. Other family members said the turkey was melt in the mouth. Definately one to be repeated!

Lovely food as always, had the mixed grill a few times now and always cooked perfectly, highly recommend for a lovely country pub.

We had Sunday roast beef & Seabass. Both are very acceptable. My fish dish comprised both halves rather than just one half served in other restaurants I've visited. Reasonably priced, too. They were not offering non alcoholic beers! I realise it has created a high gastro pub standard, but I sincerely hope that can be amended. A double zero, 'non alcoholic' ale and even non alcoholic wine would be safer for drivers. That said offers include non alcoholic sodas. Would the owners please consider this polite request for the future. Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, but N.B., It is recommended to reserve a table on Sundays lunchtimes. Unfortunately, we hadn't & could only be accommodated at high tables with seats too high for those challenged physically. Otherwise really pleased we visited. A return will be planned. 😊. TQ.

I think this an Ember Inn so in most people's books not a gastro pub. If you want a gastro pub checkout the. My good friend Paul reported a terrible experience very slow service food served cold, March 2024.

The food was fantastic, hot fresh and served quickly and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Would definitely recommend. First visit here today and our waiter Jacob was really accommodating. Food and atmosphere was great.

Went to the Peacock Inn for lunch yesterday 9th June 2024 and we had the trio of meats, the both meals were exceptional and really nice, served quite quickly, our server on this occasion was Ellie and again very polite and pleasent and couldn't do enough for us, and a great time

Steak tough, did replace took steak off my plate left the chips etc on my plate 'to nibble while I waited for my new steak' never asked hiw new steak was, didnt check our new meal, we wanted water and more drinks but seemed to be ignored. Haven't been here for years and wont be going back. So disappointing it used to be great.

We made our booking a week in advanced. when we arrived we was told there wasn't a booked but not to worry as they had space. Our order was Crispy battered chicken strips they were soggy covered in oul not crispy. The Chef’s Board the houmous was plain and the bread was rock hard not eatable. The Grilled Seabass, the portion size was questionable the fish was cooked lovely however the veg size was disappointing 1 piece of 🥦 snd a few peas and roast potatoes the sauce was amazing. We did point out to waitress we wasn't happy to pay for chicken strips as we only tried one so she removed it was the bill

beautiful traditional pub which my mom loved loads of food choices including many vegetarian and vegan options food is cooked perfect and delicious well priced tjey always ask bout allergies very friendly allows dogs in (bar only) which is always nice to see plenty parking with an overflow car park will deffinely be back again many thanks

Group of friends went for meal very disappointing crispy chicken soggy had sharing board hummus awful and bread rockhard no dips sea bass portion so small 1 meal out of 4 ok money was deducted from bill but we did say about the food young girl serving was so good but rushed off her feet will not rush back

This pub is great for a drink, especially in the summer as it has a relaxing atmosphere. The staff are a mixture, most of the time they are great, welcoming and helpful but sometimes some of them are disinterested. I've always found the barman consistent and he interacts politely with effort and enthusiasm. The restaurant interior is attractive but the food is sub par. Portions are shrinking and inconsistently cooked. The desserts are okay though. I think they need a menu overhaul. Make it more exciting, have healthy options, increase the portions. 3 out of 5.

Great Staff, especially Ellie, Mia and Jack. Made us feel extremely welcome and would recommend 100% to anyone!! Food was lush too and a great atmosphere in the cosy bar area for drinking!! Will visit again soon!!

Had late lunch /early dinner here. We ordered from the specials menu and were not disappointed at all. Food was wonderful - beautifully presented, tasted great and portions were just right. Everything was cooked to perfection. Service was attentive without being overbearing. I'm sure the atmosphere would normally justify five stars, but due to the time of our visit, it was very quiet, in fact, at one point we were the only customers. Thoroughly recommend this beautiful country pub for a great meal. We will definitely be back if we are in the area again.

Absolutely beautiful pub. Really friendly and attentive staff who genuinely make conversations and make you feel welcome and valued as a customer. Jack, in particularly went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we need, without having to ask for anything. The food was lovely too but it is the staff who make this place special. We will be making this our regular from now on. Thank you to Jack and his lovely team!

Sure! Here's a shorter version: --- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an amazing experience at The Peacock in Birmingham! The drinks were cold and refreshing, and Ryan, the bartender, was outstanding. The cheese leek and chicken pie special with fresh vegetables was delicious, and the ambiance was perfect for unwinding after a long day.

Nice atmosphere. FAO Ryan. 2 of the 4 food orders were bad. One rare rump steak was initially cold and only 9 chips, and then the steak was beyond tough and not really edible. My steak pie was burned on top, and the side pastry was rock hard. We were not charged for the steak meal. This was our second visit in 12 months for food to a local pub. It was my wife's birthday meal with friends. Luckily, the young lad serving us was fantastic. Maybe we will give it another try in a while as the first visit was not good either.

Food came out very quickly and the waitress Keira was very friendly and attentive having a lovely aura about her.
