I think this an Ember Inn so in most people's books not a gastro pub. If you want a gastro pub checkout the. My good friend Paul reported a terrible experience very slow service food served cold, March 2024.

The food was fantastic, hot fresh and served quickly and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Went to the Peacock Inn for lunch yesterday 9th June 2024 and we had the trio of meats, the both meals were exceptional and really nice, served quite quickly, our server on this occasion was Ellie and again very polite and pleasent and couldn't do enough for us, and a great time

Steak tough, did replace took steak off my plate left the chips etc on my plate 'to nibble while I waited for my new steak' never asked hiw new steak was, didnt check our new meal, we wanted water and more drinks but seemed to be ignored. Haven't been here for years and wont be going back. So disappointing it used to be great.

We made our booking a week in advanced. when we arrived we was told there wasn't a booked but not to worry as they had space. Our order was Crispy battered chicken strips they were soggy covered in oul not crispy. The Chef’s Board the houmous was plain and the bread was rock hard not eatable. The Grilled Seabass, the portion size was questionable the fish was cooked lovely however the veg size was disappointing 1 piece of 🥦 snd a few peas and roast potatoes the sauce was amazing. We did point out to waitress we wasn't happy to pay for chicken strips as we only tried one so she removed it was the bill

beautiful traditional pub which my mom loved loads of food choices including many vegetarian and vegan options food is cooked perfect and delicious well priced tjey always ask bout allergies very friendly allows dogs in (bar only) which is always nice to see plenty parking with an overflow car park will deffinely be back again many thanks

Group of friends went for meal very disappointing crispy chicken soggy had sharing board hummus awful and bread rockhard no dips sea bass portion so small 1 meal out of 4 ok money was deducted from bill but we did say about the food young girl serving was so good but rushed off her feet will not rush back

This pub is great for a drink, especially in the summer as it has a relaxing atmosphere. The staff are a mixture, most of the time they are great, welcoming and helpful but sometimes some of them are disinterested. I've always found the barman consistent and he interacts politely with effort and enthusiasm. The restaurant interior is attractive but the food is sub par. Portions are shrinking and inconsistently cooked. The desserts are okay though. I think they need a menu overhaul. Make it more exciting, have healthy options, increase the portions. 3 out of 5.

Sunday lunch was brilliant. Plenty of it and the quality was first class. Service was perfect and the price very reasonable. Thank you and we'll be back again 👏👏

Great Staff, especially Ellie, Mia and Jack. Made us feel extremely welcome and would recommend 100% to anyone!! Food was lush too and a great atmosphere in the cosy bar area for drinking!! Will visit again soon!!

Just returned from lunch at the Peacock. Our party consisted of 6 people. The service was excellent. The waitress and barman we're very attentive. Nice long family lunch.

Had late lunch /early dinner here. We ordered from the specials menu and were not disappointed at all. Food was wonderful - beautifully presented, tasted great and portions were just right. Everything was cooked to perfection. Service was attentive without being overbearing. I'm sure the atmosphere would normally justify five stars, but due to the time of our visit, it was very quiet, in fact, at one point we were the only customers. Thoroughly recommend this beautiful country pub for a great meal. We will definitely be back if we are in the area again.

Lovely quaint place. Provided an area where you can eat with your dogs. Provide a blanket, water and dog biscuits. Friendly staff. Lovely food.

Pint of lager very high now £6.50. Understaffed, tables unbiased and long wait to be served at bar even though not busy. Great old pub and atmosphere but not treated by owners with respect it deserves.

Only scored 3 stars for atmosphere as .y friend & I were the only ones in there when we arrived, but got better as we were leaving. Great catch-up with my friend Liz, was lovely to see her🥰 only had sandwiches & a soft drink & coffee ☕ but sandwiches were great, would recommend

Absolutely beautiful pub. Really friendly and attentive staff who genuinely make conversations and make you feel welcome and valued as a customer. Jack, in particularly went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we need, without having to ask for anything. The food was lovely too but it is the staff who make this place special. We will be making this our regular from now on. Thank you to Jack and his lovely team!

Sure! Here's a shorter version: --- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an amazing experience at The Peacock in Birmingham! The drinks were cold and refreshing, and Ryan, the bartender, was outstanding. The cheese leek and chicken pie special with fresh vegetables was delicious, and the ambiance was perfect for unwinding after a long day.

Nice atmosphere. FAO Ryan. 2 of the 4 food orders were bad. One rare rump steak was initially cold and only 9 chips, and then the steak was beyond tough and not really edible. My steak pie was burned on top, and the side pastry was rock hard. We were not charged for the steak meal. This was our second visit in 12 months for food to a local pub. It was my wife's birthday meal with friends. Luckily, the young lad serving us was fantastic. Maybe we will give it another try in a while as the first visit was not good either.

Food came out very quickly and the waitress Keira was very friendly and attentive having a lovely aura about her.

My partner booked a table here for the 2 of us for my birthday (24/07/2024). After our experience we will not be returning. We wanted the table for 6pm but was told they are fully booked but could have 4.30 so went with that. The young man that showed us to our table threw menus on the table and said there you go. Meal was fine but not brilliant. We ordered dessert, when that arrived it was wrong. They corrected it but sent correct dessert out in a dish which had a great big chip in it. Also with no spoon to eat it with. Then gave us the wrong bill. There was only other 2 tables occupied. So dont understand how they managed that. Not happy.

Food average, waited a while to be served, food came after about half hour, pub not to busy booked for 6 adults 7 oclock, we had all eaten then half hour later came and emptied the table and gave us a pudding menu, after about 35 minutes , came and took our order for puddings. The service was shocking, under staffed, the poor girl waiteress was also working the bar. If your hungry i wouldnt go there because tou may die waiting . Under duress gave a 1 for service but wouldnt return .

It was my first time coming to the peacock today, was a great experience from start to finish with great service and food. Evie, our server, was magnificent with us and the tall young man was very helpful with our dietary needs. Would highly recommend and will certainly be returning when we are back in the area

Nice enough place. But what you pay for the food. I would've expected much better quality if I'm honest. My fish was tasteless and overcooked. Only a very small handful of chips. And the garden peas were lukewarm and hard. Portion sizes aren't the most generous at all for the money you pay either.

Booked at last minute for Sunday lunch. Haven't been here for a very long time, but was very impressed with the friendly attentive staff, the lovely decor and delicious home-cooked food. The prices are very reasonable and we will definitely be back. Would definitely recommend a visit to this lovely country pub.

First time visit to this inn. Sure it won't be the last after sitting enjoying a lovely meal with 5 members of family. The service was exceptional with friendly & happy team. Would recommend. Also found out it's dog friendly.

Been coming here for 50yrs, my mom & dad even courted here 60yrs ago. On some occasions over the decades with management changes its not been great, but am very happy to say that currently it's back to the place I'll come again. Manager is very helpful & staff friendly, food and atmosphere is great. Thumbs up!!

I really enjoyed the food and the menu was spot on in terms of having none meat options. The service was also amazing which is definitely a bonus. The atmosphere is suited to an older crowd but definitely still well worth a visit.

Went for a meal here on the Saturday evening just gone. Our local Chef & Brewer is the Drum & Monkey but we have always liked visiting The Peacock. This is the fourth time we have visited now & each time there has been an issue, which is a real shame (I’ve not written a review before). We booked a table for 7pm and upon arrival was shown to table & ordered some drinks - so far so good. Whilst we waited for these drinks to arrive, we overheard another table ordering the gammon. This table were informed by the waitress that they had ran out of gammon & two other dishes. When the same waitress came back to take our food orders, I ordered the mixed grill. I did wonder if this would be an issue, due to the mixed grill containing gammon - but nothing was said. I thought maybe the oz gammon is different for the mixed grill maybe? About 15 minutes later our waitress came back to our table to inform me that they had ran out of gammon & asked if I would like to see the menu again to choose something different. I presumed I would be offered another item from the mixed grill in place of the gammon, instead of ordering a completely different meal? My other half asked if I could have another chicken breast instead of the missing gammon - but the waitress said she wasn’t sure if this could be done & that she would check. Some time passed and she came back to tell us the swap would be fine & was all sorted. Food eventually came, which tasted fine. We ate our meals and ordered the bill. I paid part balance with Tesco club card points and the rest by card. I should have checked the receipt before paying but afterwards we noticed we had been charged for the chicken breast? At £3.50?! We queried this with the waitress whom apologised & said a refund couldn’t be issued because of the Tesco points. The only method of resolution was to pay the balance again & they would somehow cancel the first transaction (which is still pending in my account currently) and give us a round of drinks for the difference. We didn’t really want another round of drinks but took the offer to avoid any issues/animosity. The previous couple of times we attended before this particular evening we were informed multiple dishes had sold out, why were we not informed of this before attending? The one time they had ran out of vegetarian dishes completely & when I asked what my other half could have as a vegetarian - we were informed “there’s a salad?”. It’s a shame as we really like The Peacock, the setting is lovely also but other Chef & Brewers seem to be faultless compared to here.

Come here every week for the pub quiz. The team are always nice, helpful and enjoy having us here. Even get free chips with the pub quiz team. Never had any issues, would definitely recommend.

Very nice food good service definitely worth another visit

Enjoyed the whole experience last visit, however today was very disappointing. Both mains were at best luke warm, chicken wasn’t wrapped and the chips and onion rings had the appearance of frozen editions but well overcooked. Supposedly the manager was informed but nothing fed back. Also poor.

Outstanding country pub, good access and parking. Three of us really enjoyed food and I totally recommend the beef pie and mash- amazing! Wife had the pork belly and that was incredible Very recommend and definitely be back soon.

The food is above average fare,the drinks are expencive,nearly 7 pound for a pint of ipa. New menu now,preferred the old one,you could get some good deals on the dinner time menu ..

Lovely place. Went on a bank holiday Monday so they had run out of some items. However they still had plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and attentive without being over bearing. All together a lovely experience. Would recommend.
