Pavilion in Colchester

Probably our 10th visit, always choose here for birthdays and to host visitors. The setting and decor is so beautiful it really is a treat. Today’s visit was to host a business associate visiting from Australia. We had a selection of sushi, Wagu sliders, Thai curries, Korean pork belly slices, prawn bites and fabulous cocktails. Our guest was highly impressed and delicious as always, thoroughly impressed with the depth and levels of flavours the chefs create. Gareth, as always was the consummate and delightful host. Always a pleasure to see him when we visit. Thank you to all @pavilion!

A 50th birthday celebration for my husband, we had the 6 course taster menu. Food was amazing and it was lovely to try different things. There was 11 of us, we found the staff very attentive and Gareth our waiter was a good laugh too. You made are night, we will be back soon. Thank you.

Visited for lunch, service very frosty. Food not would expect from such a lively venue. Can honestly say is probably one of the worse Thai curry’s I have ever had. 3 other members of the party had chicken box meals, again all disappointed. Would recommend for a few drinks but don’t waste time with food. Overpriced and will not be back.

Shocking, turned up for our 6pm reservation at 5.45pm. No lights on, no staff, waited 10 mins for a drink but no one showed, Guy at the far side of the restaurant ignored us. Walked out and went twisters (next door for drinks). Heading up north hill to a place that actually wants business.

Gareth out server was amazing and made our evening even better as we were celebrating our daughters birthday. Fantastic food and amazing service. Will definitely be back.

Took my girlfriend on a date here last night and we will absolutely be coming back. The food was absolutely delicious, our servers Gareth and Sophie were both very helpful, there were good non-alcoholic drink options and the restaurant itself was very beautiful. The star of the show for me was the fish and prawn panang curry with jasmine rice.

Sophie (red hair) was fantastic had such great service and made for a lovely birthday meal could not fault her! She is a credit to the restaurant. As for the chefs the food was impeccable would definitely make for a very good special occasion dinner or just for a well needed date night!

We had Gareth serve us he was so lovey and friendly. Offered to take photos of us which was so nice of him as it was our first date. Food was delicious and presentation was amazing. Had a great night would definitely come again. Great service from Gareth and the others working !!!

Absolutely lovely experience. The food was exquisite and the decor was beautiful. It was my friends birthday and so our waiter gave her a free birthday plate which just topped off the dining experience there. Held a 21st birthday party for my sister and George the waiter was fantastic, put a smile on everyone’s face. He remembered my sister’s name throughout the meal service and brought a cake out and sung happy birthday all off his own back. He went above and beyond, made the evening. He will be remembered when we look back on my sisters birthday in years to come.

I had lunch here with a good friend I hadn’t seen for a while and we had a lovely relaxing afternoon. The decor and music make it the perfect setting and the faux blossom trees are really pretty. Our waitress, Andrea, was so welcoming and friendly which made it special. We both had delicious mocktails and meat bento boxes. The food was tasty and fresh. We also had herbal teas afterwards which were made with real tea leaves and served in beautiful cast iron teapots. We were very impressed and will be back.
