It is 5* for the pastries and coffee. Some amazingly delicious sweets. Best I ate in London. However, the attitude from the servers is unexcusable. The way they treat the customers is like doing them a favor . Very condescending from behind the cashier counter. There is a lot of room for improvement there

The customer service is not the best. The indoor tables upstairs were closed at 5:35 PM, and we were asked to move outside and use the outdoor tables, despite the official closing time being 7:00 PM and the weather outside being rather bad. The staff is not as friendly as one would expect.

I really enjoy this place. They offer high-quality service, a good variety of options, and delightful special offers in the mornings.

It's not a big place, they have an outside terrace and it's the only Paul I know where you can buy cups.

Very good mozzarella, tomato and pesto sandwich. Decent bread. Fast and friendly service and excellent location right opposite St Paul’s. Plenty of places to sit and eat sandwiches a short walk away, too.

Lousy place. The worst Paul I’ve ever been. Avoid the bathroom.

Has a good upstairs area that is less busy

Place with tables also outside with a view of St. Paul. The interior is not very well kept and even the outdoor tables leave a little to be desired but for a quick sandwich it's fine. Very courteous staff.

I was shocked to see how dirty the place was! I knew Paul was a good cafe but this branch literally needs department of sanitation called for inspection. I told them I would sit outside and they put my sandwich on a tissue and placed it on a very dirty tray! I asked for a small plate so that I feel a human not a dog and they said they don’t offer plates for their terrace outside! Shocked again! And last, the cappuccino I ordered was really bad too😐🥺

Next to St. Paul's Cathedral, the location is great and you can admire the dome of the church. The lemon tart is delicious.

Very taste sandwiches for a fair price

We stopped several times with friends, after visiting St. Paul's Cathedral or simply because we were passing through. There is a lot of choice between sweet and savory (personally I have always had sweet, recommended!). There aren't many seats inside, but in the summer there are several outside. If you pass by, I recommend stopping to taste some of their specialties.

[Paul] is a well-known French cake shop with a history of more than 130 years. The London church celebrated the birthday of our son-in-law who came to the UK to visit us/This is the first time I have known about this exquisite cake shop. Today, I also found a family [Paul]/daughter walking in next to [Saint Paul's Cathedral] to buy some desserts. Turns out – it’s really expensive!

Toilets had no toilet roll. This location isn’t really suitable for people with pushchairs. The cafe just felt a bit disorganised and could do with a clean. People behind the counter didn’t even look at you when talking, felt very rushed as they just wanted to get on to the ‘next customer’.

Good coffee but they unfortunately do not accept cash anymore

Please note that the prices indicated (in bulk) on the pastries are for takeaway and if you eat on site there is a clear increase. The pastries are of very average quality and our drinks are not cold. It's a shame for such a beautiful location.

To this day, every Paul branch I've visited has served me very well. Great for a snack, locations suitable for our needs, reasonable prices. The tables outside must be more pleasant when it's not so cold, but just the pleasure of resting a little and being able to eat something delicious takes advantage.

Paul's is one of my favorite breakfast chains in London. This location, right next to St Pauls Cathedral, is small but welcoming, on the ground floor there is a counter with croissants and other sweets plus savory sandwiches, and a coffee station. There are tables outside or on the upper floor. I took a pain au chocolat that was super buttery and good just the way I like it + a small, decidedly creamy cappuccino. Recommended for breakfast!

The food was fantastic and the prices acceptable for the location, the only thing that let it down was the toilet facilities that were cramped and dirty.

I have been to different cafes of this chain, but this particular one is a big disappointment: there is no that cozy atmosphere, the desserts are not the most delicious and it is very dirty both in the hall and in the restroom. We had to clear the table ourselves to sit down because all the tables were covered in dirty dishes from previous customers. In the restroom, to wash your hands, you will have to wash them in impossibly hot water, holding the faucet handle with one hand. What a shame, the location of the cafe is so wonderful, the brand of the cafe is so promising, but I will not return here again

Food is alright. Not fresh baked, but alright. But the place is dirty, no one cleans it nor around tables, nor in the bathroom. Couldn’t make more photos, because of my respect to privacy of other guests.

Awful service. My colleague needed to use toilet but you have to put in a code which did not work . She asked a member of staff who said she would get someone to help. That never came. When I asked why she had not helped, I was told NEW. So personally if new and cannot help with basic customer service, she should not be employed. When I got into toilet it was filthy. Looked like they hadn't been cleaned for days. A beautiful location but no view from the cramped HOT cafe. Definitely would not recommend going here. Also another customer coughing on shared condiment table. I asked for it to be cleaned. This didn't happen immediately and only done when someone later split milk. Definitely should not be rated 5 star.

A great location! It’s right in front of St Paul’s Cathedrals I cannot resist getting something to eat and drink when I walk past this place especially when the weather is nice. I bought a cup of decaf flat white and olive bread sticks for breakfast today. I enjoyed every sip and bite. All the pastries and desserts are all so tasty. I often buy bread for takeaway.

Looked like they hadn't been cleaned for days. A beautiful location but no view from the cramped cafe. Definitely would not recommend going here.

Good place, nice view. It's a mystery to me why the toilet on our average petrol looks noticeably better than the business near London Cathedral.

Great place, always pay them a visit when I see one

I wish I could rate this café a 4.9/5 just because it doesn’t feel fair to take off a full star, but I did get robbed while at a table upstairs and I just can’t give it a perfect score. That being said! When the event occurred, the staff were really nice and, long story short, the whole thing resolved beautifully. Now on to the actual regular experience one should have upon visiting this PAUL: The coffee’s fine, the pastries are fine, the location is exceptional, and the café itself is so warm and cozy, especially upstairs (but just because it feels safe and cozy, don’t leave your wallets out in the open people). Oh and keep in mind (at least as of October 2022) you can’t pay in cash.

I was going to order desserts and coffee, but thanks god it was fire alarm. I bought just coffee, it’s awful! Very poor quality, bitter and sour. I can’t understand how you can offer bad product in such attractive and beautiful place. Please, save your money, this place is just hashery

Also der Kuchen war wirklich lecker und der Cappuccino war auch gut . Aber von Sauberkeit ließ das ganze doch zu wünschen übrig . Die Tische wurden innerhalb einer Stunde und wechselnder Kunden nicht abgeputzt und mein Freund hat mir dringend abgeraten, die Toilette zu benutzen . Fazit Essen Getränke gut , Sauberkeit Luft nach oben .

Good place for relax and peace.

This was my first time visiting Paul's restaurant. After walking a lot we were tired I wanted to have some hot food. Loved their food pastry, sandwiches and cold drinks. A cosy restaurant. They have a restroom too which I wanted to go was a great help👌. So anyone wanting to go to the restroom while walking at St Paul Cathedral can go to this restaurant 👍. They have wide varieties of pastries, fresh baked breads &deserts all delicious 🥰👌

Si bien los productos estan bien el servicio de atencion al publico habria que instruirles confome informen con cartel en la puerta que no funcionan los lavabos para no entrar y cuando has pedido te lo informan y tener la opción de quedarse o irse.En zonas muy turísticas como esta sucursal al lado de la catedral de Saint Paul's es importante ésta información para el visitante.

Terrible service. Every ime we visit here we see no one smiling. Good food and coffee, but not good staff. Recommended only for it's food.

I got a hot chocolated spotted the guy who charged me diluting it with milk, and I knew right away that it was wrong and they were trying to make 2 out of 1. The toilet was super dirty

El pa dur com una roca, per deixar-t'hi les dents. El pa dels entrepans de goma. Una pena estan en un lloc tan emblemàtic. Estava brut i el lavabo asquerós. No vam entrar a cap establiment més d'aquesta cadena. Esperem puguin millorar per aprofitar la zona on es troba.

Un lugar de paso. Solo un baño para hombres, mujeres y discapacitados . Se hace el pedido en la barra, se paga y se retira. Hay muy poquito mesas en la parte superior y otras en la calle

Too pricy & poor customer service. For 20£, you get a plain bun/bread sandwich, small cookie, a piece of apple tart. Good location, its a shame the store isn't good.

Tables were not kept clean. No dish or cutlery for the pastry, handed in a paper bag, single use cup. Have they heard of sustainability?

Great setting with views of at Paul's so it made the atmosphere staff wete more untrested in talking to each other the only person nor was the lady making coffee outside tables a mess 2 members of staff came out eventually puck one cup each they could gave wiped the tables over tucked chairs it would have made the place so tidy .. I guess at 5pm all they wete thinking about was home time never had service at pauls like this before

While I'm not one to typically leave reviews, I felt it necessary to share my recent experience. While the croissant and coffee were great, the customer service left something to be desired. Despite visiting on a bank holiday, I don't believe that is an excuse for such a cold demeanor from the staff. In my opinion, their customer service could use some improvement

Bought two beautiful cakes to eat in with Coffee for £20. When we asked for cutlery we were confused as we were offered wooden spoons and forks. It's like giving you a glass of Bollinger in a mug! Service definitely needs to be improved. It felt like we were bothering them. Please put hand soap in the toilets as your unit on the wall is broken.

As most PAULs the place is rather ran down and the "eat in" option is hardly eat in as pastries come in paper bags while drinks come in disposable cups.

Unfriendly staff. Credit only. Cakes were OK. Filthy toilets. Seemed like haven't been cleaned for a while. Soap mechanic broken Will never go again.

I just LOVE Paul cakes! I always find them very fresh and very good. The girls are just amazing and very helpful with their service. I especially loved when I met Michaela and Ana and that tall guy with glasses. They just provided an amazing service and I'll definitely be back there as soon as I'm in the area again!!

We were in the area of St Paul's Cathedral and where better to stop for a simple lunch than at Paul, right opposite the cathedral. The staff were busy but very friendly, and we had a nice lunch and rest. The upstairs seating wold have benefitted from better views outside, but the structure of the building did not allow for that. There were some ancient-looking wooden beams in the ceiling, which made one wonder if they are original, as the building itself did not look that old. There was only one unisex toilet, which could have been better cleaned.

Absolutely amazing patisserie! Everything is perfect, the atmosphere, the pace, and of course, the friendly Ukrainian man working the counter! I recommend PAUL to anyone who finds themselves near St. Paul’s should stop by and get some delicious French patisserie.

To start, I love Paul's and is my go to coffee house when in London. My favourite was in Soho which has sadly closed but Covent Garden comes a close second. Always have an Almond Croissant and Large Latte or Mocha. This Paul's although in a prime location near the front entrance of the cathedral is far from scratch. The staff seemed very uninterested. I wanted my usual large Latte in a china cup,. We only have paper cups here was the reply. Okay but I want a large, we only have this size holding up a regular size cup. When it came I sat outside, took the lid off to find it was only 2/3 full. Very disappointing. I'll continue to go to Paul's but this branch is off my list. I didn't like the couldn't care less attitude The staff need some serious customer relations training on how not to be so unenthusiastic and miserable.

Awesome Place to have breakfast or a little Snack. It's right next to St. Pauls so you can marvel at the cathedral while having your Meal.

I do not recommand the quiche lorraine I am not sure whats in it. The only accessible places are outside. The place to order is really small and really busy which is not ideal for mobility impaired people. Service is friendly.

It's always understaffed and coffee is most of the time poorly made. Food is tasty and worth it as general in the Paul chain standard

One of my favourite patisseries in London. It's a bit on the expensive side for a quick coffee, but given the location and quality - it's reasonable. There is a second floor inside and tables outside - options for any weather, although it's not always easy to get a seat there - it's quite a popular place.

First rate service from staff there, lovely range of cakes, sandwiches and beverages. A little experiensive but you get what you pay for. Place was immaculately clean too.

One of the worst cups of coffee I have ever had. Threw it into the bin after a few sips. I ordered a latte and it tasted like 90% warm water, 1% coffee, 9% milk. Worse than your average granulated instant coffee. I would choose zero stars if that was an option.

Quite possibly the worst stone cold chain shandwich I have ever tasted. Even “heated” was freezer cold. Inedible.
