Paul in City of London, Westminster

For a quick lunch at a good price I would highly this cafe. It’s a bit of a find in such a usually expensive location. The sandwiches are lovely and the price really reasonable. The service was also very nice and the cafe clean. It’s in a great location with easy access to the Strand, Trafalgar Square, Westminster. I thought it deserved a nice review.

He estado en este café durante los últimos años antes de un evento en el Savoy. Algunos de nosotros nos encontramos para tomar un café. Este año éramos cinco. Dos llegaron temprano y pidieron café. Americano's. No es barato. Era débil, aburrido e insípido, extraño para una cafetería. Aburrido como el agua de los platos. Tan mal que se lo devolví al personal diciendo que era débil y horrible. Ni una palabra de disculpa. Me dijeron que solo tenía un trago de café. Bueno, lo siento, pero eso no es lo suficientemente bueno. Un americano no debe ser débil y si ese fue un disparo, hay algo mal con su cafetera, sabía a café molido de segunda mano. Cuando llegó el resto de nuestra fiesta, nos fuimos, así que te perdiste la otra costumbre y no volveremos. Capacite a su personal en servicio al cliente, no había NINGUNO. El café era espantoso, el personal tenía un ataque sibilante por una entrega y no podían preocuparse menos por los clientes de la tienda. No es suficiente. No volveremos

Small restaurant beyond description. Difficult to place our lunch order on the miniscule table. Our table was Jammed up against the toilet door. Customers had to pass each other walking side ways. Food - the baguettes were almost inedible being so tough [fillings very nice] - coffee ok but not to the standard set by the National Theatre. I'll not be returning

Solo buscaba un lugar con mi hijo para obtener un buen café y un sándwich, apareció aquí y comió un sándwich de queso y espinaca tostado en pan artesano, absolutamente delicioso y con una excelente relación calidad-precio. También tenía un café con leche de coco, que también era muy bueno. Qué encantador, rápido, barato. Almuerzo, no podría haberlo disfrutado más. El lugar es realmente pequeño pero lo suficientemente cómodo y el servicio fue muy eficiente.

Nous avons essayé cet chaîne de boulangerie française. Nous avons été déçus, ils sont un bon cran en dessous de ce qui se fait en France. Le sandwich rosette à été adapté au goût anglais avec du fromage gratiné sur le pain. Généralement préparé d’avance (donc réfrigeré), le pain est froid et gras.

I stared at the beaten yellow thing on the plate. It had so recently been a croissant, now it was free of any such identity. It reminded me of when every pastry in the early 90s was reduced to a soggy rubbery mess by these amazing new things called microwaves. The cruel tricks advertising played on well-meaning Irish mothers. But surely they wouldn’t do that, microwave a croissant in a French cafe? But yes. They had. And when I asked about it, they went “yeahhhh” slowly with a worried face, sensing that I was unhappy but not exactly sure why. Did I want another one?? Advice to anyone who actually likes our Gallic cousins: sprint for the door before this lot get any more bright ideas like put putting white wine in a soda stream to make champagne or slapping cheese slices in a croque-monsieur.

It's nice, but I live in France, so perhaps unfairly comparing to the 'real' thing. It's better than many of the other options though :-)

This small café has tables packed in. There is a toilet too. There is a good selection of French style cakes, plus sandwiches and quiches. We had tea and cake.

Service was ok but surly, cider was terrible, weak and dull. Chai was just sweat and otherwise tasteless. Use it as somewhere to sit

Thank you to the 2 young staff who were on duty on Fri 16th at around 6:00pm. Whilst walking along the Strand my wife started to feel unwell, so we stopped off for a rest and a coffee. The young lady was instantly concerned that my wife looked unwell, she subsequently collapsed and the young man wanted to call an ambulance, but this wasn't necessary. Both showed great concern and compassion, ensuring a cab was called to get us back to our hotel. It is so great to know that in today's age that the young can show such compassion for the elderly. Thank you once again.

This, of course, is a chain restaurant. This one is literally just next door to our hotel (The Savoy). We popped in here for some sandwiches and a piece of dessert. The sandwiches were ok - nothing special and the palmier was good. The other desserts in the counter looked very pretty but we didn't get a chance to try them. Service was good and efficient. We would return. It's a good place to grab a coffee and breakfast or lunch that's actually reasonably priced.

Para um almoço barato e com o mínimo de qualidade, optei com a minha família em almoçar no "Paul Strand" enquanto passeava pela cidade de Londres. Pedimos sandes "Montagnard" que estavam boas (o pão é muito bom) e duas sobremesas (fatias de bolo de qualidade mediana). Funcionária que nos atendeu muito simpática.

Una experiencia más surrealista. Más en el Teatro Vaudeville para una matiné y en el intervalo nos aconsejaron que no se sirvan bebidas calientes, sino que salgan por la carretera hacia Paul y traigan un té o café en una taza desechable. No llueve, tomamos la opción. Pasteles encantadores en la ventana pero el servicio era muy confuso. Tuvimos que repetir nuestro pedido 8 veces y siguió confundiéndose con la orden de la señora detrás de nosotros en la fila que finalmente se hizo cargo de preparar sus tés mientras nosotros desesperamos de obtener nuestro café. Pedí Black Americano. . . Yo quería leche en eso. . . ?

Servicio horrible. Si te gusta la serie de comedia "Faulty Towers te encantará este lugar. Muy rara vez el mismo miembro del personal de un día para otro y en general los que están allí deben estar en una rota capacitado. Constantemente se sopa en el almuerzo. El principal en la calle bedford en excelente y me encanta la comida en la sucursal pero Paul strand es un caos total - tan mal que es divertido para ver.

Queríamos un bocadillo antes de una visita al teatro y Paul parecía atractivo y limpio. Sin embargo, el servicio inicial fue pobre y después de haber realizado nuestro pedido, esperamos por siempre para que llegara. . . casi decidimos dejar nuestras bagettes [Emmental y Ham, Motzorella y Tomate] ya que no queríamos llegar tarde. El café doble shot fue bueno. . . ¡pero no cuando se bebe rápidamente sin tiempo para saborear! Si desea los deliciosos pasteles y bocadillos aquí, ¡espere más de una hora antes de su tragamonedas!

괜찮은 가격에 신선하고 맛있는 빵을 먹을 수 있어서 매우 만족했어요. 바게트가 특히 맛있었어요.

Was walking by and saw a meal deal advertised. Went in and had to wait ages as the people in front of me received the slowest service ever.

Had a very delicious breakfast here. Decor was beautiful, staff very attentive. Really good value for money.

Dropped in just after meeting friend who works in London. Nice atmosphere and cake and coffee all good. Coffee price comparable to the large chains, cakes expensive but worth it

Great little place serving brill coffee and cakes. Stopped off before going to Savoy Theatre. Beats using the big chains.

Parado para matar un poco de tiempo mientras esperan para ir al teatro. Café, probablemente sólo 8 mesas dentro. Muy agobiante. Servicio personal bien, realmente no parecía interesada. Americano débil. Y para mis amigos chocolate caliente vimos el chico de leer las instrucciones antes y mientras hace que sea. Poco preocupante, pues nosotros mismos hacer café todo el día.

Mi amigo y yo fuimos a almorzar antes de ver un espectáculo en el Teatro Adelphi (que está justo al otro lado de la calle). Era un sábado a la 1pm y el lugar estaba lleno. Nos las arreglamos para conseguir algunos puestos en el bar - que fue suerte! Ambos tuvimos una baguette y café. Tengo que decir que era preciosa. El pan era tan bueno! ! Ensalada de queso brie y tuve mientras mi amigo tenía atún mayonesa y ensalada. Fueron muy abundante, así que no tienen espacio para uno de los deliciosos pasteles que buscan, por desgracia.

Metimos en una bebida caliente antes de ir a ver un espectáculo. Elegimos el chocolate caliente y era como beber chocolate derretido, pomposo. Este es sólo un pequeño lugar que es estar bastante abarrotado. La pastelería parecía delicioso, pero nos las arreglamos para resistir la tentación.

Muy contentos encontré este pequeño lugar, gran servicio agradable, un ambiente cómodo, muy agradable café decente selección de sandwiches, quiches, etc.

Cayó en esta tienda de té y un pequeño bocado. Como ya se ha dicho las tazas son muy grandes y el té era caliente y sabrosa. Una zona pequeña para dos para sentarse como lo hicimos nosotros. Gracias a todo el personal.

Came across this place outside Charing Cross station. We decided to stop, rest our feet and have a cup of teaWell I had citron meringue and my wife has almond tartlet. They are by far the best pastries we have ever eaten. A really special taste and the staff are very friendly. Would recommend this for anyone looking for a special treat

Franquicias conocidas y repartidas por la ciudad. Para lo que viene siendo un café con bollería esta a un precio razonable para ser Londres.

A selection of baguettes ticked the lunchtime box. Good bread and fresh fillings means it's difficult to go wrong. It has the feel of a franchise (no surprise) but still works fine.

Staff friendly and helpful, coffee nice and hot although I would have liked cream ( not the squirty stuff) with my americano. Husbands hot chocolate delicious. Toilet nice and clean.

Ottimo per le colazioni, torte, brioches, paste con frutta e onestamente buono anche il caffè espresso considerando dove siamo. Peccato la (non) simpatia di chi lavora lì. Basta così poco a volte.

Eine tolle Auswahl an süssem Gebäck und Kuchen. Wir haben hier öfters was zum Mitnehmen geschnappt, da das Lokal eher klein und etwas eng ist. Die Süssigkeiten schmeckten hervorragend. Einzig die Bedienung war etwas unfreundlich, was bei Take-away aber nicht besonders schlimm war.

I love this patisserie chain! The displays are extremely inviting and I found the prices quite low for the quality of the food. I had a chocolate croissant which was crispy on the outside and delicate and soft inside. Th4 baguette had roasted peppers, sliced tomatoes and buffalo mozarella..the baguette was crusty and delicious. Loved it all.and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Called into Pauls for coffee and a light snack mid afternoon. Croque toastie was tasty but limp! Rhubarb crumble was ok too! Nothing amazing! A waitress had an accident and unfortunately smashed a few plates behind the counter - no one hurt however it took over 10 minutes to clear up the hazard! Clearly a supervision/training need!

Quick stop for coffee before my meeting.. I was great coffee and patisserie!!! Just chilling and enjoying my coffee and canele! Just perfect!!!

Very disappointed. Looks a good cafe/patisserie from the outside and to be fair coffee, cakes etc were OK but the staff definitely were not. One who looked like the manager was wiping the door when we wanted to enter. He saw us but ignored us and made us wait to get in. The girl serving didn't smile or greet us and barely spoke whilst taking our order. They were all generally not interested. If we hadn't been desperate for a coffee and a sit down we would have walked out. We had intended to have something to eat but didn't bother.

We came across paul pre musical, and came back quickly. The coffee was super great one of the best in london and also a variety of delicious sweets and fresh baguet.... lovely service!!!

Das Paul in ser Nähe von Charing Cross ist ein kleines charmantes Caffé mit ausgezeichnettem Espresso und leckerem Cappuccino. Das Gebäck ist auch frisch zubereitet und munder sehr. Die Bedienung sehr freundlich und sympathisch und ein Start in den Tag bei Paul sehr empfehlenswert.Kann sein das bei grossem Aufkommen, Stosszeiten unter der Woche, mit längeren Wartezeiten zu rechnen ist.

More interesting range of prepared food than most coffee shops. Good if you are short of time pre-theatre but still want a decent snack. Decent coffee, bread and tarts.

good place to meet as it has more character than pret a manger and EAT etc. Nice music playing in the background. Staff very friendly and bring coffees to the table. Space is V limited at this site but for quick bites and coffees its fine

When I first moved to London, as I was getting myself settled, I discovered Paul's just down the hill from my flat. This place is great for fresh breads, pastries, and coffee. However, they also make tasty pizzas and sandwiches. All that I tried, I enjoyed immensely. But the best is their quiche! OMG it is so divine. The crust is never overcooked, and the fillings are yummers! They aren't that expensive either. I enjoy walking down the hill, picking up a quiche, maybe a treat and a drink and walking up to Hampstead Heath and having a private picnic. Great way to spend an afternoon.

Well the soft pretzel they tried copying a German Bretzel here was actually like eating tasteless mush.Get to Philadelphia Mr. Paul and learn what a real Pretzel is supposed to look and taste like.Amateurish attempt at pretzel baking.the Doctor

Went with a friend for a post theatre matinee snack and coffee. I know this is a chain, and on The Strand, so wasn't expecting much. It is tiny (16 seats), but happily surprised by the friendly service and nice pastries. Does not feel quite as corporate as, say, Pret or Zizzi and a good place to stop off for a sweet or savoury snack. Will visit again.
