Patty Palace Thornton Heath in Croydon

Recently stopped by for the first time for some breakfast. The guy who took my order was very friendly and made my morning. I got cornmeal porridge and it was one of the best I've ever had (and I love me some cornmeal porridge!) I'll most definitely be back!

The first time I went there the woman at the desk told me I could not get lots I could only get what she gave me. She also suggested that I should go home and cook for myself. Terrible service. The second time I went there I found a metal wire in my curry goat. I would not recommend this shop as the service is poor and the food is hazardous! Absolutely poor

Just grabbed a vegetable Pattie very dry and now filling and spice and the vibes in there so bad

Not enough gloves being used. Hygiene. Cover heads, wear aprons and gloves. Stop the talking/ spitting, over the open foods. Black black, burned up, jerk chicken!!! Why oh why. It tastes really nice doe. Black black....is really, not neccesary!!! The boss man is really cool doe, hope he expands/ employs more. And becomes a millionaire!!!!

Only ever had patties from here and they are okay.

Banana porridge needs milk and more coconut milk or cream. Description say creamy, but isnt. Great spice level, but not creamy as desired. I would really prefer without oats mixed in porridge. Just mixed Banana porridge without oats bits inside.

Nice concept of banana porridge. It just needs to be blended smoother and thickened. If ways can be found to reduce chances of getting runny, then that's great.

food said it was delivered but never arrived!

Went twice now , the patties maybe the best round town, no exaggerating either, try very light which you want as if that a little starter then should be light, they hit it on the nail with that. The jerk chicken rice meal nice, but bit more gravy is required as alot of rice which is great as you get alot of chicken, great food

Curry goat patty and shrimp patty slapped. They do however have a cheat boxing machine kmt 😒. Soon come bak with the uppercut technique

Great tasting freshly baked patties and coco bread but no options for vegetarians or pescetarians. Didn't have any of the special patties either.

ordered fried chicken meal with white rice got given Rice and peas and no gravy anywhere to be seen chicken was not even chopped just given whole pieces with dry rice KMT

Food was oily and had no flavour

I sent my son to buy a “ Full Palace and Drink” Everything came except the salad that was supposed to be a part of the “ Full Palace “. Why did the staff continue to ask customers if they “ want the salad “ isn’t the “salad” a part of the “ Full Palace?” Even after he answered yes, they still did not include it! Only after he arrived home he realised it wasn’t there. I asked him where is the salad, he said, they asked him “ if he wants the salad and he answered yes”

Lamb patty: fresh, hot and flaky but DAMN bland, patties need seasoning and love, very tasteless Cornmeal porridge: thick, creamy and full of flavour and not too sweet Jerk chicken: dead, a little bland.. wasn't much flavour to it Nevertheless, everything was made fresh on the day A revisit from me? ...... probably NOT

Bad service and the patty tasted like it had cat food inside, absolutely horrible. Avoid…. There are better Jamaican places in Thornton Heath

Never got my food it said it was delivered but it was not and my money hasn’t been returned………………………….

At Christmas we purchase their duck bread, Bulla, it was gone in a couple of days, our quests wanted more, unfortunately the shop was shut for the festive season. The staff are very friendly, we also experience their rum punch. I recommended my friend, and have been spreading the news, how fantastic the bread, Bulla, fruit Bun is. For Easter I purchased the bread and fruit Bun for myself and for friends. The Jeek chicken is also delicious, not too spicy My son really enjoys it, as he usually only eats from mama's kitchen Thank you Patty Palace for bringing home made food to our community

I enjoyed my order but the Curry Goat Large was missing.

Staff are always friendly. Food is well priced and tastes good.

When your asked not to put gravy on the food. Follow the asked instructions. I am totally fed up with your service, regarding this matter.

They didn't put the patty in the Coco bread.

The Pattie pastry was nice & flakey, the filling needed more pepper ☹️ PLEASE & just a bit more salt, but on a whole it was nice. I have to admit I thought the Patties where going to be in a box as stated on your website, they arrived very sweaty in there individual bags☹️ But please know this my Family really liked them. THANK-YOU ❤️

Plantain was stale & there was no gravy from the curry chicken

Received just oxtails on rice. No butterbeans and no gravy. Very disappointing.

Cashier needs hospitality training. Don't behave as if you were forced to get out to work and even if that's the case its not customers fault. Show appreciation by acknowledging customers when they come into the shop to spend their hard earned money.

Cornmeal was nice. You never seem to have festivals though. Fish fritters are light fluffy and Banana cake is moist and tasty.

The best Pea's soup I have had in a very long time. My only wish would be for a bigger portion. Very tasty, just like mama's own. Warning, contains Chicken Foot, not a problem for me, but maybe for some.

Asked for hard food, Received rice.

Food was stone cold the pepper steak has no flavour and plantain was cold and hard, Pattie’s decent everything else I wouldn’t recommend.

The burgers in Whip n Flip next door by the same people are incredible, and the owner tweaked it perfectly to make it spicier for me with a delicious mango chilli sauce. Seriously good food.

Worse set of patties I ever taste. There’s no difference between the chicken and beef. No seasoning no taste no pepper no nutten. Coco bread just shape good that’s it. Lazy jamaican catering. One star coz the pastry was okay ish. Other half said the bag hav more flavour.

Patties are amazing! But the dumplings dm oxtail not so much, No flavour and the dumplings are flat, never seen that before.

The service from this restaurant is normally ok but this time they sent food that wasn't ordered from the menu. They sent vegan food for vegetarians which was very disappointing and it was dripping wet in curry sauce which caused alot of mess which was not needed. Very annoyed and disappointed with the service from the restaurant this time. They left a note to say they called to notify that the calaloo wasn't on the menu but no phone call was received from them. restaurant need to do better next time as their standard and service is slipping and disappointing customers by giving them wrong food they didn't order which is very bad and disappointing, how would they feel to get food they didn't want or order, they need to do better.

I have tried many Jamaican take aways in London and Patty Palace is tied with one of the longest running for the top spot. The oxtail and jerk chicken never disappoints but the stand out here are their baked goods. The patty reminds me of home with each bite staying true to its roots. However while the patty is great the one thing no other restaurant even comes close to creating is the COCO BREAD (yes I had to shout...it is that good) this soft buttery bread is the perfect acompanyment to a patty or loaded with chicken and vegetables. If you have never tried a meal from patty Palace you need to. If I could give 10 stars I would

Cornmeal was delicious with festivals. Banana cake was so moist and tasty too.

Annoying because their patties are always ‘sold out’ then when I do manage to order when they have patties available they never ever send the correct amount I ordered. Their patties are so nice but it’s such a let down that they rarely have it in stock. MAJOR DISSAPOINTMENT.

Nice breakfast, value for money

2 years ago I could go there and order without any difficulty. Now since then every week I pop in there, they only have 15%of what they are advertising. PLEASE do not waste your time!!!! This shop needs to be closed down.

Teefin restaurant, made an order they only sent half, offered no refund, no redelivery just telling me I should pop in and say my name to collect my food. After explaining I'm on n hr lunch in East Croydon. She telling ne cone to Thornton heath n collect it after THEY messed up my order. Kmft! I'm so livid. Do spend your coin here they will teen it.

My order was ruined when my patty was sliced in half and packed with salad, if it wanted my patty like this I would of requested it so. You do not advertise your patty with salad so why serve it like this unrequested. Not everyone eats salad!

The driver turned up bang on the time I requested. The ackee and saltfish in coco bread is nice (I added some plantain pieces to it). However, there was no salad as mentioned and the saltfish was still very salty (meaning it may not have been boiled down enough before cooking it with the ackee). Overall it was good and I'd order it again.

Lamb patty was good but box meal was not nice. It was quite tasteless and I didn't finish it. I got the jerk chicken and rice and peas, poor selection of drinks. I'll opt for dellys next time.

I used JUST Eat website to order from Patty Palace and everytime I'm ordering which was 3 times so far are they never had any patties available. It always says item unavailable so I have to order something else. The food is great delivery is really fast but I'm giving it 2 stars because often what they say is on the menu is not available. Maybe the restaurant can look at that to make it better for customers. Thank you

My main go to place for vegan Caribbean food. I ordered a small meal and the container was packed full of food, I couldn't finish it in one sitting. Great value for money

Sent the wrong meal I contacted the shop, they told me that what I ordered was not on the menu which was not true . I ordered mackerel and hard food in the breakfast meal. They sent me rice and peas which has coconut in it and I’m allergic to. To add to injury the mackerel was disgusting.

Delivery between 5 and 10 mins early which isn't an issue. The food hit the spot as always. I am seriously baffled as to how they make their dumplings so light, fluffy and oil free!

I actually hate ordering from patty palace because they always miss something or never have anything available, I order 1x coco bread only received one and on top of that have to wait for a refund request! Follow people’s orders correctly this is people’s money it’s already expensive enough ordering on here.

The vegan meal is always a surprise as I don't know what I'm getting, literally! However, I've never been disappointed with the taste or quality of my food. I'd highly recommend them.

I ordered fried dumpling and when the order arrived, they sent festival. I am not a festival person so I wasn’t happy. I tried calling the restaurant numerous times but to no avail.

Received incorrect item and not what I ordered. Would like a refund please. If you do not have the item please take it off your menu, cancel the order on your end or telephone me to explain. Very disappointed.

If you are feeling hungry and have a Jamaican nostalgia- this is the place to go. The patties are hot, fresh and will have you eating the last crumb in the bag.
