Nice coffee and comfortable place

I went to order a regular iced latte and 2 shots of caramel syrup which would have come to £5.65 according to their menu as the coffee costs £3.45 and the added shot was £1.10 each. They then asked me to pay £9.10! I was very confused and asked why it was so much as it is a lot more than what is advertised. I was met with hostility and they just thought it was normal that an iced latte would cost nearly as much as their main meals offered. The staff just were not understanding the math, and the lady who put the order in the till must have put in something wrong. After 5 minutes of hostility and going back and forth, it was clear that these two workers cannot do basic addition even with the help of a literal giant calculator with all the products and prices on in front of them. Perhaps a few year 2 maths lessons are in order during the staff training.

This place is horrible ! The staff is so unwelcoming and grumpy.This is the second time going there after giving them a benefit of a doubt and l must say never again . Their English breakfast is horrible! I believe l dropped or left my phone there and it was stolen . l went back to the place trying to ask for help , they were not even phased . The cashier didn’t even lift her head while taking to me or the other guy who was making the food showed no remorse .Most places would at least offer you to call the number or at least express empathy. They were not phased at all . Do better !

The food are nice. I love the meat and vegetarian lasagne. My only complain is the staff. They're not very friendly. Not very welcoming.

Good breakfast with family here yesterday morning just after they arrived from overseas. Really recommended.

This restaurant serves a really hot and flavorful coffee and delicious pastries. They also have staffs who are very helpful.

I really like it here the food and choice is nice. On my last experience I was really disappointed because my daughter dropped a square of her sandwich on the floor as I was at the till I gave it to the manager who served us and she didn't even offer to replace the whole sandwich I had to ask and even then the look on her face was like we were a nuisance to her. My daughters only a baby she's 1. And I felt like she expected me to not ask because my daughter had the other half of her sandwich on the tray but I'm paying for it so I thought I'd ask for her to replace the whole sandwich it was awkward. But overall the food is lovely and I like the atmosphere and the ample lighting that's dim. I like the location aswell it's really nice. Despite my experience on my last occasion. There is a gentleman who works there who seems to be very accommodating and nice .

I ordered spaghetti Bolognese which had barely any meat in it. Had no chilli and no taste. Very disappointed!! The staff were very cold and not interested in customers. They looked miserable!

After reading all the good reviews I decided to come here with a few friends for breakfast.let's just say we walked out before we had even ordered,as the staff were aware that we were there but failed to even acknowledge our existence.Find this very rude and unaccomadating.We were left waiting after they had served someone immediately in front of us and just carried on walking up and down doing other things leaving us stood there.Clearly didn't meet the criteria of a valued customer for their business.considering there were 3 staff members there they are all obviously up them selves and feel they can choose who to be polite to,maybe it is a racial thing.I certainly won't be going there ever again

I'm a self employed person, I visit Croydon once a week. Unfortunately I have found their customer service is extremely cold, unfriendly and prickly. With no one else in the shop you're left to your own devices. I visited on three occasions just to make sure I was experiencing racism.... I noted the cashier smiling and welcoming another customer of her own colour but completely ignoring myself work colleague who felt the same last week. Apart from the prices being probably alongside some of the highest in London. The customer service is the worst. Notwithstanding them having one black worker, from what I have experienced., there is an obvious disrespect towards black customers entering this establishment.

Perfect for people travelling, lots of space to sit outside.

The staff never ever smile,strange attitude.

Usually good but spag bolognese was mushy today. It tasted like surplus pasta that was frozen and thawed. When you order pasta, they give you the biggest size by default.

Service wasn’t the best I believe I was racially profiled. I’m not sure if I’ll be coming back here again.

Excellent experience. Food is excellent quality and customer service is amazing. My wife and I love coming here as staff is very welcoming, nice, polite and helpful. Food is tasty, well presented, big portions and at an excellent price. It is definitely a place to recommend if you are around Croydon.

I love Cafe Giardino, the food is very good, always well cooked and very tasty. Lovely jacket potatoes especially, but everything great. Manuel and Emelia are very friendly and always greet me when I come in. I just love it. Well done all, keep up the great work 😀

1. Latte doesn't "MUST" be extra hot 2. The way you guys talk to customers should be sharpened a little bit, I'm talking about the lady that was on "food" section today 1' of year.

Popped in here for a warm drink during a cold shopping trip. The hot chocolate was actually "hot" which is unusual nowadays. My hot chocolates are always tepid from other establishments. So that was a pleasant surprise. We didn't eat but the food others were eating looked good. Decent size portion and pleasantly presented. The gentleman who served us was very friendly and chatty. The cafe was clean and tables cleared promptly.

Based on our experience, the food was way too overpriced for its quality, therefore, we do not recommend.

I’ve pop in there today to grab a take away latte. The lady who made it have no idea how to make it properly, so awful, the worst coffee which I ever had. And she made it super hot, like boiling, Ive really hurt myself. Overpriced too

Worse cappuccino I ever had. They scooped the foam out the jug to be put in the mug and this is the result.

We had ordered one roll and one slice of pizza, the roll was really nice but the pizza was inedible, we took the pizza back and said it was to hard you could not bite it, all that was said was it must have been heated for to long, was not offered the money back or a substitute. All other times the food and staff have perfect.

Had a bit of lunch here this week with my wife & son & the food we had was delicious! 😋👌 The service here & in other branches of this company is always very good, a reason why we like to eat here over other cafés. The prices are maybe a little high in my opinion but the quality of the food makes up for it. 💯 I personally had a jacket potato with a filling & it was awesome! 👍

Amazing authentic and delicious Italian pasta. Perfectly cooked and generously garnished. Great facilities too.

The one thing I especially like about Cafe Giardino is the coffee, which to me is the most flavoursome of all the multiples. Their fillings of sandwiches and rolls are always freshly prepared and delicious. Maybe I'm biased but whenever I need refreshment and a comfortable chair, this is my destination of choice.

Have some options but not that satisfying, little bit untidy may be because not many staff to tidy up the place... Baguettes are cold so bit hard, but I guess thats the same with most of these cafés... It's in a very good location. That's about it for now...

Very good place to eat your lunch. Italian restaurant and very taste full food. Very clear place. Perfect service. And many different Italian dishes. Don't miss to visit when you shopping in the mail House of Fraser it will be an enjoyable break between shopping.

Well, i’ve been here many times and almost always I ignore how rude the staff is. Food is actually decent hence why the two stars but it’s overpriced and service is actually horrible. Even though giardino gives discounts through cards the Croydon branch doesn’t accept them. Not worth coming back, gave it enough chances.

I usually do not give five stars but I have with Cafe Giardio on this occasion. This might be possibly to the fact I have been there at least ten times in the last year and will be frequent there in the near future. I love their selection on hot and cold food, sandwiches, panini's, pasta's etc all of which is well prepared and tasty. They are central within the shopping centre where parking is available and a toilet close by. The prices are in my opinion just right and fair and the staff really good. Its family friendly and I remember visiting there with my wife when our children were babies, and mum's with babies still go there. It's a place that caters for most people. Try it out yourself.

I absolutely loved the food... the shop is very clean... all the staff I came across was lovely except one at the start who taught I had just came in to sit down without buying food and she said it in a very unpolite way.." you cannot just sit in here and dont buy food" when all i said was can i sit down.. however all of that went out of the window when all the other staff where super nice and the food was really tasty

Overpriced microwaved food. This place used to be lovely, not sure whether it’s inflation or just croydon but this is not a good experience. I’m also sure the food must be days old that is being served.

Went for a quick lunch with hubby. We like it here but our one complaint is that we ha e to buy side salad separately. We had lasagne and chicken escalope, we too wondered why we didn’t have a small complimentary salad on the side instead we had to to pay an additional price for a portion of salad, this really bumped the price up. In other establishments we would have a garnish of crisps and a small salad. Also the Pellegrini cans are £2.50 each yet we can pay £1 elsewhere. We really like it here but the thought of paying for each item is too much. I’m sure we aren’t the only people to make this observation. We actually took the rest of our coleslaw home with us as it was too costly not to eat it. Please we hope you will review things if not for our sake but I’m sure for others too.

I've been in Bromley Giardino before where a milanese was served with salad . However in Croydon I've been served only a sandwich in a poor plate presentation . I've also asked a late. So all together was £12.10 which in my opinion is super overpriced. I guess it's not about Giardino chain instead about love for what you do . Which in this case they don't have in Croydon.

The food was ok but there was a piece of plastic in our Lasagna.

We have been here before and had a good experience. Me and my wife saw our kitten for the first time before we brought him on video call at this place, so it's a good memory for us. We thought we will return here to have a meal, they have alot of options so we were just checking the menu, the guy there asked how can I help, we asked for a minute to see the menu. Litteraly a minute after that he asks us "are you going to get something or no?" in a disrespectful tone of voice. My wife just asked me to leave, so I did. I don't know what this was, if this was if he thought we were wasting time or if he just had a bad day. Customer service comes first and we come there to have a good time, your attitude towards us ruined the time we were having. We probably get better customer service at McDonald's. You can see we are looking at the menu give us time to order? We asked for time so give us time? No need to pressure us into ordering quickly.

A very nice well filled sandwich but not the one I ordered I was given prawn and ocean sticks instead of crayfish and avocado. I didn't complain as didn't want to waste food as knew it would then have to be thrown away and at least it was still fish but I did miss the avocado.

I just popped in to drink something cold, and to be honest guys shakes they serve here are the nice ones ( they just keep it simple and plain ) I loved it. The place is clean and the staffs are too nice. 💯...

Everything quite expensive and their fresh food is not always well heated on the inside.

I have been going for years . Lovely food but was a classic case of all who are not white look the same when the person who served me said she thought I was with the Asian women standing next to me when the only connection between us was we were the only person s in the queue that were not white. The server looked suitably embarrassed by her mistake but did not apologise instead she scurried away leaving someone else to serve me

Friendly service and strong coffee!

It's OK but the cappuccino was weak and the toast was wet and soft.

Lovely staff, had a delicious cheese and ham tosty with banana milkshake! All sandwiches are made right in front of you, so all fresh. Would highly recommend!!

My husband and I are locals to cafe Giardino; delicious food, very good menu, friendly staff, the place is squeaky clean and super comfortable. Free WiFi to use if you want to bring your laptop. Prices may be a little higher compared with other local cafes but the quality is also better and we need places like that in Croydon!

Lovely salads. I really enjoyed the macaroni and cheese. They sell freshly squeezed orange juice. 🍊. The staff are very nice, it's lovely and clean. It is slightly more expensive than some other café but the food is delicious do its worth it.

Cold bland spaghetti Bolognese, hair on plate of garlic bread, which was replaced. Won’t be going back.
