The service was satisfactory; it was prompt and efficient. As for the food, it was acceptable overall, but the toast was slightly overdone, and the Cumberland sausages lacked flavour. Wished the hot chocolate was big but it was ok

A lovely patisserie, we had a voucher for afternoon tea and it was lovely. All the staff were extremely happy answering helpful. Our cakes and scones were delicious. However I would say the vegetarian sandwiches were a hit and miss there were some better ones out of the selection. Drinks were bottomless which was a bonus! I would definitely recommend visiting.

Variety menu. Unfortunately my omelette was squashed into 4 layers or quartered from its flat size, which I prefer. Salad was small. Apart from size the omelette offered 2 extra filling and tasted good. Cream tea price increased much from from I had it 2 years ago by £3.

Had a great afternoon tea for two - tasty food and unlimited drink refills. Great value with Groupon voucher. Very friendly staff and plenty of seating on weekday morning.

29 Jan 2024 update The Mocha with Extra Cream was truely memorable and the Black forest gateau devine. And thank you to the server who brought me some chilli flakes to accompany my Salad and Croque Monsieur. A shame we did not have the Chicken & Chorizo Croque Madame option to chose. Sat on the nice comfortable red single sofa chairs although their legs did not seem paticularly stable. The low table is also extremely small and barely enough to cater for our 6 items of food and drink. Other the that, the service was good and the food and drink, tasty. ............. On the 30th June 2023, my friend and I went to this specific Patisserie Valerie on purpose to utilise our Buyagift prepaid treat. Thai restaurant is located within the Glades shopping centre. On entering the restaurant, could we went to the counter and advised the member of staff at the till that I had a lunch buyagift. I showed her the document on my phone and she proceeds to write the code down. She then showed me a menu and advise me which pages had the item we could have. We then sat at table half way into the restaurant in the right direction and looked through the menu. Once we had decided, I went over to the counter. They were 4 people queuing up. So I waited for what felt like a considerable time and asked the server as we had already given the Gift code, if someone would take our order at the table. She said I needed to queue up. I ordered the following :- Chicken & Chorizo Croque Madame for the 2 of us. 2 slices of Double Chocolate Gateau 2 cups of Mocha I carried the hot drink and the cake to our table The Mocha was excellent and extremely hot, in a generous sized cup. We then waited a considerable time for our Croque to arrive When it did finally come, it was piping hot. The flavour was very nice but it had very minimal filling inside. The accompanying salad was predominantly lettuce leaf with 1 baby plum tomatoe cut in half, I hardly an explosion of flavours. This element lacked taste, flavour and creativity and needed serious zapping up. So I asked for chilli flakes and mayonnaise and made my own concoction. After eating this, we thoroughly enjoyed our Gateau. It was truelly excellent, had a rich chocolate flavours and was very soft indeed. This was out 1st outing to this Patisserie Valerie and we did enjoy the treat. However the £12.95 cost of the Chicken & Chorizo Croque Madame is somewhat exorbitant keeping in mind it was a cheese topped toasted sandwich. I would not have paid that in full, had it not been part of the buyagift deal. Also for future reference for Pateserie Valerie customers, study the menu for the specific branch of the restaurant you intend going to. On arrival at the restaurant after giving your voucher code, order your food and drink there and then, it will save you unnecessarily queuing up again later.

Went in today had the a omelette.was given two small omelettes that are pre made and were served at best warm.two slices of cheese and a mushroom were put in the middle.the pot of tea is £3.85 and is very weak .the place is run with kids and a matron.will definitely not be returning .My mother wanted eggs on toast and they said that wasn’t possible you have to order eggs royal and leave the salmon.

Recommended stop for those shopping in Bromley and beyond. The desserts are a real delight for the palate. Large and welcoming tea room. Friendly and helpful staff.

They're so called "patisserie" mostly consists of sponge cakes filled with double cream. Poor quality.

Service at the till could be improved

Nice cafe with lovely choice of cakes. Some of the chairs reupholstered now which makes the whole place look better. Very nice staff.

We went to the store in Bromley. Arrived at 4.30 and store closes at 6pm. Half of the store is closed, caution signs on top of the tables, chairs in the middle in the shop floors. The assistant wasn’t welcoming at all, she was quite cold and seemed bothered by our arrival. Cakes put together in the same plate, noises of the staff cleaning and tidying. Very unpleasant experience today.

Visited with my son (adult) for cappuccinos and cake - there was a good selection to chose from. I had cheesecake and my son had black forest gateau - all was super tasty. Staff friendly too. Much enjoyed.

Lovely staff and a great selection of cakes and pastry items for the afternoon tea Free refills of coffee and a soft drink included in the £20 price via wowcher or grouon. Although the walk up price was just £25 Some chairs need a re cover, but don't let that put you off. Will be back

Very pleasant Afternoon Tea at Patisserie Valerie. Whilst placing our order we were asked if we had any dietary requirements which was good as we wanted the vegetarian option. Our preferred hot drinks order was taken before we were seated. The hot drinks arrived soon after. We had to wait a while before the treats arrived, I supposed because we had ordered the vegetarian option. It was worth waiting for, it was nicely presented with various sandwiches, plain and fruit scones and very delicious looking sweet treats. All the items were tasty and delicious. We were offered more hot drinks. Overall a very nice experience.

We visited Patisserie Valerie, in the Glades shopping centre Bromley, on Sunday 26 Feb 2023. I had a voucher for afternoon tea, for my birthday. I had previously phoned and reserved a table, and let the person know of my food allergies. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile, and told of the changes they had made for my allergies. We were so well looked after by the staff, and especially one I think was called Helena. Would defiantly go again when we are in the area.

The staff and the food were both excellent! They went out of their way to be helpful moving chairs and tables so that a group of six could sit together and there were no problems with using 3 vouchers at the same time and meeting a variety of requests (vegetarian/mint tea/coffee). All the staff were pleasant, they offered us drink top-ups and allowed us to stay as long as we wanted. The afternoon tea itself was well presented and tasted good. Very impressed.

Bought some lovely looking mille-feuille slices to take away for myself and my girls. Ate them as soon as we got home but we were so disappointed. All three slices were really soggy with no crisp pastry at all. Just really sloppy and slimy to eat and very sickly. No one could finish them as they were so horrible. Will not be having cakes from there again

Visited here for the first time in a couple of months and enjoyed a nice breakfast consisting of porridge (made with soya milk), blueberries, banana and honey accompanied with two thick slices of White toast served with real butter and a pot of English Breakfast tea. Service by staff members was prompt and polite. My order was completed in good time, arrived hot and tasty. Overall an enjoyable experience was had and will be returning here again soon for more of the same.

We took my mother for afternoon tea, so that she could use the voucher we bought her for mother's day. Her grandson came with us. The tea / cake stand was excellent, with sandwiches, scones with cream and jam and cakes, with a drink of choice included. In spite of a growing 11 year old, we didn't manage to eat it all and took a fair bit home. I ordered a an omelette which was also very good. The menu was varied, reasonable prices abnd service good.

Very disappointed today. Been in PV many times for coffee and lovely cakes. Today I ordered a bacon baguette, the baguette was over baked and hard, the bacon was dry and tough. To crown it all, they had put slices of cold hard cheese in it. If the cheese had been melted and I had asked for cheese ??? But I hadn't. I only managed to eat part of the first half of the baked hard baguette, before I finished my nice coffee and gave up.

Poor customer service, not even a smile or acknowledgement when serving. The apple mint ice tea tasted of apple juice with a mint leaf on top. The babychino came out boiling hot, which I had to ask them to mix with cold milk. Not a great experience for a first visit.

Always a pleasure to visit. Both the service is good and the excellent menu which offers classic and modern dishes and wonderful pastries.

Awful. Cakes were dry and sickly sweet. Cake sponge was like week old dry bread. Very expensive too! £3.95 for small slice of old cake. They also add on a charge for the privilegeof eating inside. Bill came to £19 for two cakes, two teas and a juice. Will not return here again...terrible!!!

Two friends and myself went along to Patisserie Valerie in Bromley today for afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed the lovely cakes and sandwiches, the staff were very nice and friendly, we will certainly return to do it all again.

Disappointed!. Paid £4.95 for a slice of Red Velvet Cake which looked lovely and moist with lots of cream (also portion size smaller than previous). The reality was a rather hard cake that had probably been taken out of the fridge a few times before getting to my plate. Not what you'd expect when paying nearly £5 for a slice of cake. Wanted to love it, but sadly let down. However, the staff were lovely which slightly helped with the blow.

Went in today for a traditional breakfast. Bacon so hard couldn’t eat it I took it back to the kitchen and they changed it straight away. Unfortunately this breakfast was the same , poor quality ingredients. I would give this a miss. Such a shame used to be much better than this. Save your money head somewhere else.

Took 25 minutes to bring our order (toasted sandwich and fries) Cheese hardly melted and fries cold and overcooked. Nobody about to complain to as all busy behind the counter, but as in a lunch hour out of the office, couldn't wait for a reorder even if I had asked. Portion of fries used to be a bowl full, now a tiny wire basket. Couldn't cope with the number of customers. Unfortunately won't be returning

Afternoon Tea at Patisserie Valerie Bromley, Sunday 20th June 2021 This is the first time since lockdown I’ve taken my elderly mum out to eat so this was definitely a treat for her and we weren’t disappointed. The restaurant was spotless, very spacious and there were hand sanitisers around and people were wearing their masks so definitely complying with the rules to keep it a Covid free area. The manager and staff were very friendly, helpful and nothing was to much trouble. I had booked the afternoon tea in advance as we had dietary requirements and on arrival a table had been reserved for us which we were shown to and our choice of drinks brought over. The tea and cakes arrived shortly after and were freshly made, there was a great selection and all were very well presented and very tasty. We really enjoyed the experience so a big thank you to the manager and all the staff. I would definitely recommend a visit to Patisserie Valerie in Bromley you won’t be disappointed 😊

I have ordered cakes for birthdays and other celebrations for several years from the Bromley location and it has always been a positive, although pricey, experience. That is up until today.... I called to order a cake for my daughter's birthday on December 27. I was rudely told by an older woman to order online as she had a queue going out the door When I tried to explained that online deliveries were for up until December 24 and then no deliveries again until December 30 which wouldn't work for me, this woman kept on either talking to other people in the store or talking over me. She totally ignored what I was saying and kept telling me to go online because she was busy or to call back after Christmas and maybe she could do something. Hello??? I have just been telling you that I need the cake for December 27, but you have been rude ignoring me. It's a shame that because of one person's rude, unhelpful attitude, this location has lost a faithful customer of many years. According to other reviews from the past year, I'm not the only one.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and we were served promptly and efficiently. The coffee was good. The food however was less so. Although nicely presented on a buffet stand, the finger sandwiches were dry around the edge. The cake selection was bland, tasteless and unimaginative especially for a patisserie and the scones had been revived by heating and were disappointingly rubbery as a result. It was the sort of cream tea one might expect in a department store café. This not the first Patisserie Valerie cream tea that we have had. It was, by far, the least enjoyable.

They are usually so tasty, moist and leave us feeling really happy. But the new line of cakes that have come are awful! I just don't want anyone buying these for a celebration as they will be so disappointed! No flavour, extremely dry and an overall disaster!!! I know you have been in financial difficulties recently, but if your solution of saving cost is by cutting corner on cusumer's cost you are doomed. The last couple of visits to VP haven't been so good..... They have got our order wrong both times but on the second occasion the lady hadn't added 2 things and we weren't entitled to the special offer unless we ordered another hot drink.... I did try to explain it was VP problem as the order was taken incorrectly in the first place..... So we ended up out of pocket. We will not be rushing back.

Edit: I wish I could give no stars now. The cakes have now got even smaller and the way they look has changed. They don't look appetizing at all now. Original: I previously gave a 5 star review but now I have to reduce it down to 2 stars. The cakes and particularly my favourite the Strawberry Gateau have been reduced in size by what looks like around 50 per cent! They were always expensive but a good size. My family and I used to pop in a couple of times most weekends but now I feel a bit like we're being conned so today we decided to go somewhere else. Big mistake by the new owners who now look like they are trying to milk as much money from the business in as quick a time as possible. Very sad to see.

Sometimes cakes look great and then disappoint - at Patisserie Valerie the cakes do taste as good as they look. Paired with a nice cup or tea or coffee makes for a nice break from the rush outside in the Glades.
