Agora Greek Restaurant in Bromley

Enjoyed a family meal here and thought it was superb. Food, decor and service were all excellent. I’d highly recommend and we all plan to return.

Had a lovely meal at Agora last night. I've been there lots of times over the years and always enjoyed my meal. I chose Chicken Souvlaki and I told Michael the owner that I had just returned from Greece and had plenty of Chicken Souvlaki out there but mine at the Agora was the best I've had. The staff was really friendly and attentive and acknowledged my sons birthday. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and we had a great night. I will return soon.

I really enjoyed their food! I had the king prawn pasta tonight, it was delicious and will definitely revisit again.

Food not good at all. Staff very nice but inattentive to a laughable degree. Almost empty restaurant but staff nowhere to be seen alot of the time. Noone asking how things were, unusually, or whether we wonted any more water. Strange experience. I think they were all very young and more interested in themselves. Would certainly not recommend. We wondered in by chance. Chose the wrong restaurant.

Decor was exquisite, food Devine and service impeccable. Had the two course menu which was value for money. The calamari was warm, tasty and not rubbery at all. The chicken was succulent and I was extremely full afterwards. I will definitely be coming back.

It was our first visit to this Mediterranean restaurant in Beckenham it happened to be Fathers Day, great decor excellent service, the food was great we had roast beef with all the trimmings and the Kleftico, the red wine was really good too. We will definitely be back, thank you to the two waiters that served us

The minute I walked in, I loved the decor. Greated immediately by very friendly staff. Good food at good prices though I do find desserts in any restaurant these days well over priced. Had a lovely evening with friends. Will certainly go back again.

This is easily the best restaurant in Beckenham. Great food with nice size portions, good service and a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

Excellent fresh food with great service. There is plenty of choice for vegetarians. The place is very well decorated and comfy. The owner is also very friendly, we had a very good conversation. We will definitely come back. You won't be disappointed! Highly recommended

Lovely restaurant - we don't come here nearly enough! Gracious staff who are very welcoming. Food for a Sunday lunch was excellent - I had the beef and husband had the lamb. Great bottle of red wine too for very reasonable price. We will come back and not leave it so long next time!

What can I say. This place is amazing. Tables are set with linen table cloths and linen napkins( which I'm a fan of ). Decor is clean and bright. I feel like you are in the Mediterranean. Food fantastic, staff friendly and professional. We don't eat here alot, but the owner always seems to remember you and makes you feel special. A top place to eat. Highly recommended

Amazing little restaurant had the calamari and steak and both melted on your tongue my partner had sea bass and said it tasted lovely very well cooked .there is a great atmosphere in the restaurant and michael who served us is so friendly and welcoming i will be returning very soon

3 generations aged 12 -79 visited for a family meal on a Saturday night. It was our first time and we extensively road tested the very tempting menu with 3 courses each and all having different things. It was all absolutely delicious, great portions and not too long to wait. Friendly sevice and great ambience, not too noisy and very pretty decor.We all thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back. Well done Agora!

Can honestly say, the worst service I've ever had. 3 course meal for a family birthday celebration. Didnt even get the desert. 3 hours of being there and still no desert. Over an hour between starter and main. And the portion was so small. Me and partner went home and ordered a take away. Very VERY disappointed.

We went there for Lunch on Saturday - had the Trio of Dips with Pitta Bread, Calamari, steak and chips, Kleftiko (Braised lamb), and Tiramisu. The Starters, the steak and the Tiramisu was good, and the lamb was just fantastic. Very nice interior decoration, very good service. Good value for money. Will definitely visit again

I recently visited Agora with my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day. The restaurant had its usual classy and romantic decor. As we sat down we met with a beautifully dressed table and delicious three course dinner menu. We enjoyed all three courses and the food was appetising and exceeded our expectations. The tirimasu at Agora still holds a special place in my heart. Top tier atmosphere, service and food.

We wanted a quiet intimate evening for my birthday,when we arrived there was a table of about 14 very loud people and even more people arrived to join them and it got even more noisy,a couple who were seated near us who had just arrived decided that after about 15 minutes they would not put up with the noise any more so they got up and left the woman looked furious! Our food was ok and nothing special and the decor was really beautiful and classic but if they want to host big noisy parties they are going to lose a lot of customers who want an intimate quiet romantic evening.

My family and I had an incredible dining experience at Agora. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and a lot of attention is put in the decor of the premises and table setups. The food was divine and impeccably presented. Every dish was bursting with authentic Greek flavours and was prepared with quality ingredients. We were served by knowledgeable and friendly members of staff who were extremely attentive throughout the evening and made sure our dining experience was top-notch. I totally recommend this restaurant to anyone who is up for amazing food, exceptional service, and a wonderful atmosphere.

We chose for the first time to give ourselves a break and book a Christmas Day meal at this restaurant, hoping that all would go smoothly. Well, we needn't have worried at all as the whole experience from the wonderful (and plentiful!) food, to the place being beautifully decorated and - most importantly - the brilliant staff who we thank so much , made us feel so welcome and looked after us all afternoon. Everything was so effortlessly taken care of, leaving all of us in the restaurant to just enjoy ourselves, which made for such a lovely atmosphere. Lovely food, pretty interior ( loved the flowers 💐 around bathroom mirror)...we came on afternoon of a very very loud birthday 🎂 group so it wasn't great for my elderly Mum! Nevertheless we loved the food & service and would come again ( hopefully quieter)

We went as a group of 7 for dinner and so glad we tried this restaurant. The decor is slightly amiss but don’t let this put you off as the food and staff were fantastic. Very reasonable prices for such tasty and generous dishes. The staff could not do enough to make our visit a great experience. Everyone in our group had only good things to say which is hard to achieve at times

Cozy little restaurant with amazing food and a good selection of drinks.

This was my first visit to Agora. The food was delicious. We had the sharing mezze starter, lamb kleftico and baklava. The prices are reasonable, and the service was outstanding. All the staff were attentive. They managed to accommodate us when we turned up early for our reservation which we appreciated as it was cold outside. I woud recommend Agora and will definitely return!

Hello guys, sorry I meant my bestie boos. Today I have a mix of happiness and a minuscule bit of disappointment. The deco of the restaurant is impeccable, and the service is also class. The waitresses were nice and welcoming creating a lovely atmosphere. The starters were a chef’s kiss, unfortunately, the main meal wasn’t very unique. Thank you

Small restaurant in centre of Beckham, the food was okay but little overpriced for all experience, plus the service charge. The atmosphere was a bit off, too. The staff was okay but nothing special when you only had one person to serve you and the rest of the restaurant but the manager did help her.

I'm not even sure where to begin because we loved this place. The interior design is gorgeous. The menu is great. We ordered a special, and the way the meat just fell off the bone... Delicious! The meal had a great balance of flavors. Worth every penny. The mocktails were good, the dessert—pretty and yummy. (That berry compote is wonderful.) And and the atmosphere—very inviting.

Terrific food again.Second time here and I am v happy to be introduced to this place. We had starter, main and dessert. Both of us had Prawn starters, my wife with the tiger prawns and myself with the prawn cocktail. Absolutely delicious gigantic juicy prawns that were well prepared. We had the lamb for mains, so tender and well cooked. Potatoes best I have ever had, not sure on their secret there. Terrific service and good wine list. Looking forward to next visit

We ordered variety of main dishes and all were incredibly tasty and tender. Generous portions. Meat was made to perfection. Nice atmosphere and friendly owner. Desserts were fabulous and not too sweet we definitely coming back!

Went to Agora last night to celebrate my sons birthday. The food was lovely we all enjoyed it and the restaurant is lovely inside. Really comfortable seating and a lovely atmosphere. Michael the owner is really friendly. Really enjoyed our evening.

NOT family friendly at all the waiter asked if I had a reservation as soon as he saw me, didn’t greet me at all just asked do you have a reservation first red flag !!! 🚩the place only had 3 on people inside and 2 sitting in the outside so it was not busy at all, they then said they wanted to seat me in the outside so that my child wouldn’t disturb the other guest!!!! 😳 I was being discriminated for having a young child. I could sense from the moment I stepped in the restaurant they didn’t want me or my family there, I actually choose this place for the good reviews but this place DOES NOT want people with children at all!!!!! So disappointed 😔 …. Update 19/09/23: The response of the owner is so insulting, hasn’t even offer an apology or to investigate further, I attended your restaurant on the 9th of September 2023 at around 4 ish there wouldn’t be any record as we didn’t pre-book you had 2 mature Caucasian gentlemen as the waiters, in front of house and inside, the gentlemen that told me to seat by the outside so my 16 month old child wouldn’t “disturb” the other guest even said Bella to me, they must remember the 7ft tall black male and a 5ft Hispanic female with a Afrolatina toddler in a buggy, if not please check your CCTV and don’t further insult me. Kind regards.

I waited an eternity to only find a long hair in my food and the service was extremely poor wouldn’t recommend whatsoever!

Nice food but the thing that stood out the most was the great service from Ciro. Ciro gave us a 5 star expensive and catered to us accordingly. Good on Ciro because without his hospitality and his welcoming energy i would have felt uncomfortable. I’ve have visited the most Michelin style restaurants around Europe and have never had a service like what i’ve received from Ciro. This guy deserves a OBE.

Excellent food great staff definitely go again

This is such a great find in the heart of Beckenham! The staff were absolutely fantastic and so accommodating. I came with my toddler- they put her food order through first and quickly as she was hungry which was so sweet. They also provided us some milk to drink as we ran out. They were friendly throughout and very patient. The food was absolutely delicious- we had the scallops, lamb and sea bass and they were cooked to perfection! I would absolutely recommend them and I’m looking forward to going back.

The worst service I have experienced in a long time, went for my daughter’s birthday for the bottomless Prosecco lunch and although my party was 10 mins late. After 20 minutes of being sat down we were not offered any drinks and had to ask for drinks and water. Another party of 8-12 young women came in and were served instantly. When the water was bought to the table and we had to again ask for the Prosecco to be served of which were instantly told our two hour bottomless Prosecco lunch started from the time of our booking to which I pointed out the time we had sat at the table not being offered a drink another staff intervened and said it would start from the serving of our first drink. From that point we were not checked on or offered refills once our bottle was empty no one seem to know how the bottomless lunch worked, and we had to keep calling the one staff member who seemed the friendliest over to ask for some service whilst two waitresses stood catatonically at the bar offering no service. Once we ordered our main the only time we were checked on was to feel rushed out the restaurant after our main despite the restaurant only being at less then 50% capacity, the waitresses looked asleep at the bar and the one who did come over to place a spoon on the table for me was unfriendly and rude!!. At the end of the meal we asked the rude waitress for the bill and she simply went back to bar and resumed her sleeping posture at the bar we eventually put our coats on thinking this would prompt them into giving us a modicum of service to no avail. After a further 15 minutes of watching the catatonic waitress not even request our bill but resume her position at the bar my daughter who was upset at this point walked out. I managed to get the male staff attention and when I complained about the rudeness of that particular staff his response was to tell me not to be upset and that we had had a good time…well the cheek of it how would they know we had a good time we had no service and had been ignored the whole time!!!. when I asked for an apology from his rude staff member he told me she did not speak English to which I replied I did not care what language she wanted to say sorry in that she should come over and apologise. When the bill was presented we were double charged for the desserts on a SET!!!! menu and a £20 odd pound service charge was added. My daughter came back in and challenged the bill to which it was amended but albeit a reduced service charge of £19.00 pounds was added on ….an absolute cheek considering we had no service and had to be asked to be served every time. If you want to offer a bottomless Prosecco lunch I highly recommend you go two doors down to Bocco Social, take your rude expressionless unfriendly staff and get them to teach you how to implement excellent service as I will now recommend to anyone to book there instead as having been to Bocco Social a month before they are leagues ahead of you. This was disgraceful and shameful experience and for the extra money I recommend you book Bocco Social instead.

Really nice Mediterranean place. The dining room is spotless, plush and warm, the welcome was friendly and the service throughout was great - not rushed at all, just very efficient. The food is delicious, classic Mediterranean fayre. The souvlaki chicken was super succulent and the Greek salad was tasty. And the baklava for dessert was super yum. Would definitely go back!

We enjoyed such a lovely meal at Agora in Beckenham this evening. There was kind, attentive and professional service throughout and it’s a charming dining room with great music and a calm, laid-back atmosphere. The menu is extensive with options for everyone. I loved the olives, the Vegetarian Plate - exceptional value at £13.95 - with spinach & feta cheese pie, halloumi, courgette, aubergines with tomato dressing, mushrooms, houmous, tzatziki, beetroot and pitta bread. Had a very well- made cocktail (an aviation) and baklava for dessert too. A very tasty meal in stylish surrounds. Will certainly be back!

Agora is 5 star all round. The staff is attentive and welcoming. The food is top notch every forkful is full of flavour. I rate Agora in my top 5 restaurants in Beckenham. Wide variety of food to select from. This is my go to place .

This was one of the best Sunday lunches I have ever had (beef choice), in a very relaxed atmosphere.

My friends and I visited last night and had a lovely meal. The wine was reasonably priced and the crab ravioli was gorgeous. The service was so good and the staff were really attentive and helpful. Will definitely come again.

5 for lunch 2 course set lunch on sat. £20 per head. Lovely starters, we shared 5 starters they were all really nice and tasty. The bread with the prawn cocktail was my favourite. Mains... steak, prawn tagliatelle, and Lamb. All delicious. No room for desert on this occasion as the portions were enough. The staff were nice and polite The toilet was clean and easily accessible. Customer service 10/10. Food delicious and well cooked. Cocktails sweet and strong I picked the Lychee Martini. Venue was well decorated and cute. Most definitely Instagram worthy. Romantic enough for a date night too. Wine list great. Toilets cute and clean. Accessibility little difficult for crutch users as double door access, first door leads to sink then door to toilet stall. Bit too small for a full length selfie but for a head selfie the lighting was sufficient. Mid week meal deals and a variety to choose from I would recommend.

A belated birthday lunch at Agora. The lamb dish with roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding and vegetables was delicious (a little more vegetables would have been nice). I need to return again soon. Friendly staff and Michael the owner. I would recommend this restaurant.

I had seefood: sea bass with tiger prawns, very tasty and Hubby had Lamb and chicken. The portions are absolutely enough and very flavour full. I do recommend this place in Beckenham.

An amazing restaurant. Atmosphere was beautiful, the food was perfect (the prawn tagliatelle was the best I've had for ages), the staff were very professional (always there and provided exactly what you wanted and when), and prices were very good considering how great the food was. We had a pre-Christmas get-together for 12 of us last Friday night. We let the restaurant know our meal choices in advance and we chose from the set £30pp menu. The welcome and service was impeccable, the ambience was perfect, the decorations looked lovely and the food was absolutely amazing. We will definitely be going back again in the future.

A great place, good food and friendly staff. Something for everyone on the menu and all cooked to perfection. We all enjoyed the food, the portions were large and satisfying and the Tiramisu was out of this world. This place is suitable for families with children of all ages, couples and friends. Highly recommended. Photos are Souvlaki Chicken, Stifado, Sirloin, Spinach and Feta cheese pie, bruschetta and Tiramisu. All delicious.

A beautifully appointed Restaurant with a lovely warm feel to it. Service and food were very good and the midweek starter and main offer for £20 represented excellent value with generous portions. Wine list was not extensive but had most areas covered and again was very good value. We will return.

Amazing food, atmosphere was really nice. I think it was the onwer there was sooo friendly I would come back. And the portions was not to big and not to small, perfect to go dancing after which we all did. The only small criticism is that there was a young waitress there that needed to work on table manners but she wasn't rude, just a bit more refining. Otherwise A+++ would definitely go back soon!

We popped in for the set menu to try the place out and we were both absolutely amazed with the experience. Thee interiors are lovely, the staff deserve 11 stars, the food quality and presentation was superb as well. The sea bass was yummy, two pieces and the sauce was perfectly chosen to complement the dish. The lamb kleftiko was very lean too which is nice compared to some I had before. There was a party for birthday on the other table so they switched the music and we all cheered for the birthday boy. It was really such a lovely time. We are shortlisting the restaurant for future special events with our friends and family.
