Buzzy little pub just out of market area. 15 minute walk to the footie ground. Nice staff, constantly changing selection of beers and ciders.

Called in here yesterday before the match at the priestfield, excellent beers and friendly landlord & landlady. It was that good we called in again after the match before we caught our train home.

Visited 7 years ago at the old premises and revisited again yesterday. Best place in Gillingham for any real ale drinker. Friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome. Would highly recommend

Tuesday 28th March 2023 This is a complete new premises to the last time I used this place pre Covid A lot bigger and beers of great quality real ale now pulled from back room Pub has great range of real cider also really friendly owners I had real ale and ciders in here today Friday 15th December 2023 This pub was again visited tonight This is the best pub in Gillingham to drink real ales and ciders on gravity straight from the barrels 4 real ales and at least 10 real ciders on tonight. Great friendly staff and a cosy drinking environment with plenty locals make this micropub an essential visit for real ale/cider drinkers when in Gillingham

Gillingham is not bestowed with the best pubs in the world but fair play to Past & Present for providing this small oasis for discerning ale drinkers. It's a long, narrow split-level micropub with a bar down one side at the back. They will serve you here but they also have table service (a rare welcome hangover from the pandemic perhaps). Three cask beers (two Wantsum pale ales and a bitter from someone I can't recall) and a strong Belgian beer on keg St-Feuillien Blonde all very reasonably priced. My own criticism was a musty damp smell although I'm not sure whether that came from the pub or the customers! Could do with some more imaginative décor.

Our first visit to Gillingham, and really pleased we found this lovely Ale House. Comfortable and made to feel welcome from when we walked through the door. Great beer in good company. Thank you.

Great selection of Beers & Ciders

Always a friendly place with fabulous selection of beers, ales, ciders and gin/rum/whisky. Dave & Lorraine are sooooo lovely and there’s always a local to talk to or plenty of space to sit for a quiet drink! I love going here and enjoying a chilled out drink or a few! Come here for a great drink in Gillingham!

Excellent bar in Gillingham. Friendly landlords. 3 cask ales and 2 keg beers all in perfect condition.

When I pop.in for a beer I always enjoy the company and the beer is superb well worth a visit

This pub is incredibly racist and after us spending so much money they told us we are not aloud to swear after them using the term 'darky' and thinking that's perfectly acceptable. Absolutely disgusted with this. Individuality is not accepted here. Neither disability friendly either.

Finally made it here, after many years of trying!! And then only for a short visit, but I'm so glad I did!! A comfortable setting with friendly visitors and staff, who also know a thing or two about ale. Sadly there was only a couple of casks available on this occasion, but both very decent. Already scheduled my return visit for later this week...!!

What a brilliant micro pub. We visited on our way to watch Oxford v Gillingham. The beer was excellent. We will definitely visit again. The beer selection and their reputation was the reason for our first visit, the friendliness of the locals make this a must visit again pub.

Fantastic traditional micropub. Great selection of local / national ales. Always 3 on sometimes 4. All priced at £3.10 a pint regardless of strength. Ciders alwas 6 or 7 on normally between £3.00/£3.40. Very welcoming place with owners and locals. Definitely one to try :)
