Passage to India in Hounslow

Was so saddened to see state of place compared to what it was used to. Loud loud music, drinks being supplied by staff under table. Staff on their phones and lack of service for customers that weren’t in. Disgusted with what we saw and how we were treated, completely took away from the food.

Thanks to Tushar & staff, food was delicious, high quality and also accommodated us at our event! We’ll be back!

food was surprising good, however staff front of house need to spend less time looking at their mobile phone's and more speaking to customers. I was regular some Years ago and stopped when the food went down hill. Seems now kitchen staff and quality has improved so will give it another go next time.

The majority of the food has arrived cold and the Aash which is one of the items I order was so salty. I complained about this on Saturday, which when I placed the order and had to wait for the order to be complete before any action could be taken. I then contacted Just eat several times after this and didn’t not get any help with this. In fact on the live web chat I kept on getting ignored. I am so upset and trusted with this situation.

Daal makhni and paneer were delicious but really disappointed with butter Naan. Naan’s were not even butter naan they were so hard so couldn’t enjoy the food. Worst butter naan I have ever had.

Please do not go by the remarks of other people as they are old. Now with the new management the place has lifted with decor and good quality food. I had my sons birthday party in December and it was perfect. The food was piping hot the service was great tasty naans and desserts. We all had a great time. These are the old photos of the restaurant and I think the owner needs to put the new photos in.

The mince had more peas in it than the meat. The Lachhar prontas that we ordered were old. They tasted sour meaning the flour used was old. I want something done about this. I paid £28 for this.????

Absolutely slow service and raw food being served cold at the table! Don’t waste your money or your time. No compensation or remorse. They need a health inspection!

We ordered a mixed Grill, vegtable Jalfrezi,lamb gosh, saag, and 4 butter naans The food was delivered cold and the butter naans were plain. The mixed grill had items that were not fully cooked and the food was very chilly even after we asked it to be lightly spiced. My children felt sick and unwell after having the food. After my complaint the manager could only say that he would tell the chef. A great disappointment and money wasted all on boxing day holiday. Never to see this place again, and God help those who do.

Excellent food - especially the "Paneer Tikka" Huge portions - have had to save almost half for tomorrow! Very friendly and polite delivery service.

I keep returning hoping it will be as good as the first time. It’s still quite salty but at least everything is hot and plentiful.

I ordered 3 items all the 2 I eat last night were bland at best and the 3rd I eat this morning was so bad I could only eat one bite of it Very disappointed.

Went with friends for lunch. Food was tasty and service was good. only disappointment is that owner/manager not suggested that during lunch time some of the food items were at very low price. we were charged at higher rate as peak time although while leaving we found out that food items were cheaper during lunch time as per restaurant paper advert on the window of restaurant . we all felt cheated so giving only 3 stars.

Good jalfrezi but the butter chicken was over salted. Not too spicy like other local places.

I am disappointed as I have now order food from here 3 times, and all 3 times I have order the same thing but each time it has come different. Taste and quality. I paid 7 for a salad that the 1st and 3rd time came in a small container and the 2nd time it came in a big foil container with a lot more variety. The butter chicken tasted different everything single time. There’s no consistency. I will not be ordering from there again.

Fast and friendly service, but sorry to say, that's where the positives end. The curries lack flavour and substance, and they used way to much salt, the sundries are dry and hard, which shows they are not fresh..

Absolutely disgusted by the poor service in here. Myself and my family came out for what we thought would be a nice birthday dinner which quickly turned exceptionally sour. Upon giving us our naans, which were cold and EXTREMELY hard, we asked for replacements. Whilst trying to explain to the manager how brittle our naans were, he picked them all up and began touching all of them with his hands which is extremely unhygienic.The manager refused to replace them and after a lot of arguing, they bought us new naans after our meal had finished. The owner was very rude and shouted at the top of his voice at us when we complained at the time of payment. Despicable behaviour, yet he still charged full payment. We ended up leaving the restaurant having a huge screaming row with the manager. It was a disastrous way to end the evening and if I could give them no stars I would.

Daaal wasn’t cooked Butter chicken was watery

we went in a big group, was ok at first but slowly started to see the service was getting poorer and worse as the evening went by.. slow to bring out food but when they bring it out its very rushed like they just throw it on the table and say eat it... the starters were nice chicken and lamb was tasty but the vegetarian was disgusting... dhal was like runny slop.. aloo gobi one person looked into the dish and said were's the gobi... pretty much horrible.. then the mains came out eventually after along wait... again very rushed, no yogurt but they brought it and threw it on the table towards the end of the meal.... the best was yet to come... dessert... 1 gulab jamun.... kulfi ice-cream was disgusting again.... and lets not forget the drinks, the beer was ok but i'm 100% sure the spirits are watered down.. the vodka and coke had no kick in it at all...... the owner the guy with the Prince tattoo on his forearm.. biggest pile of turd ever when i asked him for something he snapped at me.. "we are very busy ok we can't just drop everything for you"..... wow what nice customer service hey... go here if you want to be be abused basically .... all in all i would say please avoid this place... as someone from our group said... Passage to India?? more like its the back passage to india......

I was taken to this place by a friend. I had been here few times 10 years ago. And had good memories. I met the owner named Prince had a chat and asked him to suggest couple of his favourite dishes and butter Naans we ended up with DAAL MAKANI AND LAMB ROGAN even though I had ordered HOT SPICE it came very mild and ĺuke warm the Naans came dry without butter the plates sitting on the table were COLD so it made the dishes even colder. It good was GOOD. The atmosphere definitely NEEDS TO BE Looked at. The WALLS WERE DIRTY there were home in the wall next to our table. And on top of this there was family with young Kids who they had NO CONTROL OVER they running up and the Running room make all kinds of noises After the meal I asked for the Menu and the first thing I noticed the chicken section. The Heading read CHICKEN DISCHES I can't believe they ignored it.

Don't order take-away. Lamb dish that I paid for was missing from the bag - manager (owner, I think) did not accept this and told me he would ring back in 5 minutes. 2 hours later I thought I should warn others. The quality of the food is not that great either.

Ordered Lacha Paratha and what I get for £2.75 is ready made paratha from corner shop next to their restaurant which is also owned by them. Food is pricey and not up to standard. No wonder of this low rating and empty restaurant. Wouldn't recommend at all

Ordered Tarka Daal to see what standard and quality this place was, always someone in the restaurant but rarely seen more then half full , the daal was actually a runny chana daal , taste was ok but stopped eating when I crunched done on a stone ! Either they never even washed it or didn't bother washing it more then once. They're other daal was chana masala , I'm pretty certain that all they done is thrown a bit of that into a bit of syrup added a baghar, quite lazy in my opinion

An order of aloo, mutter gravy, seekh kebab and rotis was wolfed down by the kids in just a few minutes. Authentic North Indian style, fairly good service, would go there again if in London.

Ended up in Heston before a flight from Heathrow, and found this great restaurant. Got good service, cheap price and a lot of good food. We were a group of 8 people, and asked to have different dishes we could share. Got a good set of traditional Indian food, which tasted great.

This place is one of those serving up basic kebabs which aren’t too bad but the mains are awful! Simply awful mix of pre cooked meat heated with whatever sauce you order. You can tell but that isn’t the problem. It’s the service that also lets it down. Things are forgotten or mixed up so one has to wait around. The table behind us were so angry at the food quality this Saturday. 20 years ago I had my wedding lunch here and it was beautiful. It’s now like a cafe with lots of chairs stacked at the entrance as you walk in. I will not return here.

Collected takeaway order from the restaurant for my guests. Came home and started to eat the food.........but the food was stinking, cold and unpalatable.

Got into the restaurant and staff member sat us into the last table. Then later on the manager comes and says the table is booked so you need to leave and the staff member who gave us the table did not know. No sorry but asked to leave. Its terrible Customer service. I will never recommend this place.

Visited Passage to India on a whim after the refurbishment - It took us a while to get the attention from a member of staff to ask for a table for two as the staff do not wear uniform/name badges. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived (approx. 6.45pm) however we were told to wait at the front whilst they set up a table for us. This took almost 1hr for them to organise after being shifted from various tables. In addition to this, we were sitting amongst a very rowdy family party with misbehaving children who interfered our dinner outing. We did tell the staff to ask them to tone it down, however they shrugged this off.

This is without a shadow of a doubt the worst Indian food I have every tasted. The Lamb curry was disgustin it had more fat, gristle and oil than meat. And the Tandorri Roti was an oily mess with no flavour. Unfortunately the new owners who are not Indian have lowered the standard. Truly disgusting food.

This is the first time I have ordered from Passage to India and the food was disgusting. The gol guppas tasted stale, the filling tasted off. The Aloo chaat was nasty. The papdi chaat was a disappointment. Only the paneer shahlik was tasty. I won't be ordering from here again.

I visited this restaurant on the 29th August 2017 to dine with a friend. I was pleasantly surprised to find a well presented, well decorated dining area with pleasant, attentive staff. The menu was varied and the food we tasted was of a very acceptable quality, in complete contrast to the reviews left previously. The only criticism I can make is the state of the menu cards which need replacing with new. The photos shown bear no resemblance to the current premises, which is unfair to the present ownership.

The portion was half the size to what you would get in the restaurant, did not receive all items mentioned in the order and had to re-heat all the food.. was disappointed because was looking forward to our meal!

Paneer was ok. Naan was undercooked, doughy and inedible.

Lovely food and quick delivery. I have ordered from here twice previously and the first time I ordered I ordered a lager to find when I received my order that hadn't been included I phoned them up and they told me they would redeliver something either the next day or add something to my order for next time. They didn't deliver it to me the next day nor did they include anything in my latest order, I wasn't happy and think this would stop me from ordering again. My friend also ordered from here and has happened to her also on more than one occassion.

I ordered a takeaway via jus eat i was shocked delivery showed up a hour late in between that i had to chase up for my food dont order they dont care about you or your food i wouldn't even give a day or time to place a order they shouldnt be allowed to be on a take away service specially when they have a private party as they cannot handle that demand aswell as take away delivery service poor staff poor management that just dont care

Arrived, quiet Tuesday night. Shown the table by the doorway. Asked for one of the tables away from door 'reserved'. Nobody used any of those tables during our stay!Menus were minging dirty. Starved so went against better judgement. King prawns were great. Lamb curry poor (little lamb and not soft).Naans ok. Other dishes run of the mill bland multi purpose 'curry'. Certainly not cooked fresh. Understaffed on a quiet night. As the title says.... Not for me....

We walked here from our hotel only to be told that there was a private function on.A bit inconvenient when you make a special journey and walk about a mile.I understand we all have to make a living but there should be a couple of tables for regulars or those who make a special journey to get there.I suppose it tells you what their service would have been like.

Masalas are good in the food and delivered within good time. Person who took my call was polite and professional, and respected that I did not want dairy in my meal. However, just too much oil in methi aloo sabji and tarka daal - I had to remove about 4 tablespoons into the sink before I started eating it. Steamed rice was fridge temperature cold, which is not acceptable when the restaurant is only 5 minute drive away. So I had to spend time warming it and the other foods, which were only luke warm too. Kachumber salad was nice and chilli mogo was ok - cold again. Amount given is good. I would like to order again, for the taste, but cannot due to the amount of unnecessary oil and the food being cold. If I learn in future that this has changed, I will order again.

This is a typical Indian eatery, all purple neon etc, varied menu, good selection of lagers as you'd expect. All in all an enjoyable experience. Approx £65 for two including the drinks.

This is my first visit to this restaurant after change of ownership and refurb. As we visited for an early dinner the place was empty. We ordered a mixed grill, lamb chops and paneer shashlik. The mixed grill was well cooked but could have done with more flavouring but was nice. The panner was lovely and soft.For the main course we ordered butter chicken and daal makhani with a afgani naan that was half plain and half garlic and chilli. I wasn't expecting the butter chicken to be as spicy as it was - I have to say it was delicious - if you were expecting a mild dish ask for it to be mild. The daal was nice. Service was good.

i ordered 2bottles of coke which was charged for and received 2cans also received chickhen curry instead of chickhen korma when i phoned to complain they said it was what was ordered and it was just eat fault i will never use them again very poor service on their behalf

I had not been for quite a while. I was aware that there had been a change of ownership and was intrigued to discover if the food was of the same high standard.The food was okay, the service quite good and there was the added bonus of bringing your own spirits. Beer and soft drinks need to be bought in house, similar to other restaurants, however, those that drink spirits can make a saving by bringing their own drinks.Overall I was a bit disappointed as the food did not match the standards of the previous owner.

Ordered food for collection from here on a Saturday night. They failed to take a name and number as they were very busy and out the phone down before we could say another word. When collecting they claimed in a rude manner they didn't have our order when we read it out to them. Turns out it was sitting there all along missing a naan so had to wait for this to be cooked! Summary: food is nice but service is awful. The pound us when you have rubbish service it leaves a bad taste in your mouth before you've even tried the food.

I had booked a family dinner to celebrate my son's birthday for a party of 10. I decided to pop into the restaurant 7.30pm the evening before the party, to pickup some menus for the family, only to be told by the owner that my booking had been cancelled. Apparently he was going to call me to inform me that the booking had been rejected. What a poor excuse of a restaurant. Standards have definitely gone down the pan since the place changed ownership.

Food was nice with very decent sized portions. Meat was clean and well made.

Took a chance with this place seeing there weren't too many reviews but we don't regret at all. The food was delivered within 20 mins and was hot when we started to eat. Taste and quality was good as well. We will order again for sure.

The staff and management are truly unprofessional. The service and attitude is really bad. It's under new management and the previous owner was excellent but the new owners have a very bad attitude to customers. The prices are expensive for the terrible food that they serve. There are many many better restaurant with much better locations . this has a poor atmosphere and poor location.I will never go back as the food and service is terrible and I have lived in this area for over 10 years. Many better places to go then this dump

We have tried lots of the local indian restaurants, and we always come back to Passage to India. The food is always good quality and has great flavours. Is even better now that they deliver!!

I have been living in Heston for 22 years and frequented Passage to India weekly for most of those years, HOWEVER, now under new management its a different story. service is very poor, quality of food has deteriorated , my orders (take away's mostly) were wrong week after week for one reason or another, wrong food, cold, or something missing, I persisted for loyalty reasons only, I finally gave the place a break for a few months but went back again, I made my feelings known to the owner who didn't seem in the slight bit interested to be honest, and hey presto my order was wrong again, when I called to inform about my food I was given all sorts of excuses, I ended up taking my meal back and eventually getting a refund after numerous attempts to try and give me another meal, used to be the best Indian meal around, wouldn't go there again if it was free, they have no idea how to run a restaurant or what customer service is.

What a s**t hole. I have never eaten in a place where the waiters can't speak English, food cold. End of the night asked for a cup of tea and was given dish water. Don't even go to the toilets. Surprised that H @S, food inspectors haven't closed it down

We are not in the 80s where you can't take a card machine outside.We were so close to getting food but then the man said "oh you can't pay by card". Also they need to have a person who can speak fluent English and not a mumble! What kind of restraunt is that!

Just been to this restaurant - very disappointed !! We used to go every couple of months but hadn't been for a while. The restaurant is now under new management with a new chef - not impressed. No longer any linen napkins - just paper napkins - tableware new - poor. Service very slow. Stupid blue lights flashing in the windows - very off-putting. Same menu but unfortunately not the same chef !!

Some years ago this restaurant was one of the best in the area, now just looking at the dusty windows and old carpet at the entrance give you the idea that things are not as they used to be.I don't think the management read these reviews, but in case they do: Please spend a bit of cash and improve the outside and inside decor to give more life to the place and take down the Christmas lights in the windows as we are in summer now.Prices are the same than other restaurants in the area and food is still good.

Me and mum came to try it out to see if we should bring the rest of our family, close and extended for a little gathering. The food is amazing!! Garlic mushrooms wowed me. These guys really know what punjabi cooking is as the flavours, cooking style and portion sizes are just right for the punjabi belly. Which is why you get lots of punjabi peeps visiting it.I would only come here for takeout though as this is not a place for family but more like a lad's hangout. The staff are friendly and helpful, and though they are not so refined in restaurant etiquettes you can see they mean well and do their best to be helpful. My fiancé would perhaps like this place if he wanted an eve out with his mates, as the restaurant seems used to blokes grouping around tables saying hi and having a good loud laugh, with lots of bottles on the table. Hygiene could be better. The carpet does need changing and they may as well get some new linen also. The toilets are sorry to say a bit rank, but it does the job if you are desperate and not a hygiene fanatic.

There is massive choice of Indian restaurants in Heston and Hounslow, ranging from the fast and furious with delicious food and wipe-down tables to those such as Passage to India where the service is more relaxed and with nice decor, white table-cloths and nice cutlery etc; and linen napkins (hurray!). The menu here is extensive and the staff are knowledgeable should you need advice. The décor is pleasant and relaxed, tables are well-spaced and the restaurant has recently been refurbished. There are always local, Indian customers in here which, given the choice in Heston, is a good recommendation! The food is delicious and reasonably priced, although they do charge for poppadoms and pickles. Recommended.

We have been coming to this restaurant for many years and have seen a slow decline first in atmosphere but on our last visit in food and service too.On our last visit we were sat right at the back due to two huge parties of people, this seems to be a regular occurrence, therefore it was very noisy and we could not even chat and hear ourselves. We had to ask for the basic ie knife and fork, no napkins, the food was badly presented and did not taste as good as it had done. We left as quickly as we could. It's a shame as we have had so many previous meals 3 years ago plus and would recommend the restaurant to friends and family. We have now found a good restaurant a little further away but worth the drive 'Memories of India'

Went in around 7.15. Starters were cold and un cooked. Beer was off. The mains didn't even turn up. Paid for starters and walked out! Owner was not happy, I don't think he understands customer service, kept fogging us off with 10 minutes. We waited one hour. As you walk in the is a air con unit above the door, if you go after reading this, check how much mould there is on that unit and also count how many flies are flying around that area!! We counted 30!!!! Stay away!

went at 13.30 for buffet waiter said busy will be ready in 45 minutes when sad i come back then he was not sure it willbe ready by then so 12.00 buffet not ready by 3pm decided to order from menu did not have first thing i ordered food came no tissues provided until i asked for them food tasted horrible lordered saag meat couldnt find saag or meat only gravy water tastes better than this in 35 years have never experienced bad service or bad food not even soft drinks tasted good worst thing we were the only customers there needless to say i did not leave a tip
