Visited with a co-worker while working in Brentford. Genuinely the best value and tastiest food I have had in the London area. The staff were outstanc=dingly professional and courteous and the food delivered to the table was ome of the best tasting Indian food I have had. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone, from the purveyours of spicy goodness to those who enjoy freindly staff and a filling meal. Outstanding !

I and my brother visited this restaurant for the first time last night, having discovered it on a random Google search. The Indian food there was the best I have ever had! Piping hot (temperature wise), tasty and clearly freshly cooked. It was beautifully presented and not over-priced. To die for! The rice portions were over-generous. The restaurant was clean and one can't really fault it. If one forced me to say if anything could be improved .... I would say that the toilets were a disappointment, small and tatty. What a shame. And the lady who served us was lovely, very friendly and efficient. But she tried a few sales techniques that were a bit 'obvious' ... eg. my brother asked for a coke and instead of her writing down 'one coke' she asked: 'Not beer?'. We felt she was 'pushing' us to buy more. These are small criticisms, given the quality of the service, the view of the river, and the outstanding food!!! Will definitely be returning! PS Beware, if you are visiting by car, you WILL have a problem parking anywhere near. Unless anyone can advise differently?

Great food and service. I've eaten Indian food all over the world including the best Indian in the world but this is in the top few in terms of the food. Get out and make this guy famous!

Tucked out of the way, and certainly not looking like a restaurant, was a bit apprehensive but believe me the food certainly overshadowed any reservations I had Large portions and full of flavour, cannot recommend highly enough

My husband, daughter and I enjoyed a delicious meal here after visiting Kew Gardens. The setting on the river is beautiful and we would love to come here in warmer weather to enjoy the outdoor seating area. The food was really tasty and different to the standard Indian food we were used to and the service was really lovely and friendly. The portions are also very generous, but this meant that we could take the remains home in a doggy bag and have another enjoyable meal the following evening!

Hi all, This is only my second time ever posting on TripAdvisor. 1st time was about a place in Scotland, which was not a good review. But my second review is awesome. Myself and 2 friends went to London for the weekend. We got there late and needed food. It was 22.45 and everywhere was shutting at 23.00 We came across Pappadums and they said we could come in but would be 30min wait for food. OMG we was so glad we waited as the food was fantastic. Shital, the waitress could not do enough for us. All three of us are in our 50s and we have had a fair few currys in our time. And we all said how bloody nice our food was. I don't really do post like this, but when I/we know it's was beautiful. I had to share it with you all. I hope this helps you and you have the same experience we had. After a day at the rugby, we ate here with friends. The food was really tasty, service was relaxed & not rushed and the atmosphere welcoming. Great to see this restaurant back open again.

This place is everything you could want. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food was so delicious. Portions are large and we were able to order as we went. They had 2 large groups in but this didn’t effect the service or the waiting time. I would highly recommend and we will be back.

The staff were very warm and welcoming. It wasn't super busy but there were a few large tables eating which slowed down service slightly. It didn't bother us but by way of apology we were offered a free drink of our choice. The food was delightful. Fresh, hot and wonderfully full of flavour. The chicken in all of our dishes was absolutely delicious.

Today we visited Pappadums with 15 of our colleagues we choose the party menu of Gold. Food was amazing n all of us felt the same I definitely recommend one must visit n taste indian food at least once.

We had a Diwali party at Pappadums last weekend with about 60 guests. I felt that before the party the restaurant could have been more helpful with all our questions and requests. However on the day itself the arrangements and the food were impeccable. We were a mixed group of vegetarians and non-vegetarians, and all the dishes served were very tasty. Anil is an absolutely brilliant chef and we look forward to visiting Pappadums again!

We hosted a party for over 60 people at Pappadums and I must say the food was exceptional!!! Great riverside location and lovely ambience inside the restaurant. A big shout out to Anil the owner chef for making our party a huge success.

The best biryani I have had in a long time. Really Greta service and extremely clean place. The food was fresh and tasted amazing. Full recommend to eat in as well

A very lovely Indian Restaurant by the canal in Brentford with very nice staff. All very welcoming. Large portions and one of the best Indian Restaurants in London. The flavours were on point. Definitely will be going back even though live in South London. Shetar (Hope spelling is correct) was brilliant looking after us making sure everything was good with the food ordered.

So happy that Pappadums is back! It was our first time back since Covid started. And it's better than ever! We ordered Butter Chicken, Kadai Chicken, Biryani, Paneer, and a healthy helping of garlic naan and Peshwari naan. Nice, generous portions! Pappadums' garlic naan is the best in the world!

Went for birthday celebration, nice place lovely food, very tasty food enjoyed a lot with family, very good customer service. We will visit again soon.

We visited Pappadums restaurant today for my daughter's birthday and had a lovely evening here. The ambience, food and service were perfect. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. They made sure all our needs were taken care of. A special thank you to Sheetal who was so friendly. The atmosphere was chilled which made it lovely to be in. We will definitely be coming back again and would recommend anyone to visit here if you want a lovely dining experience.

This restaurant is in a lovely, tucked-away setting on Ferry Quays, and the food is very very special. The Kurkure Tokri Chaat, Kurchan Duck Take Tak, sea bass and butter naan were all sensational, and staff were charming. The only let-down was the atmosphere: unbelievably, the restaurant was virtually empty.

Found this place while staying in Brentford for a few days. Can honestly say the food was gorgeous. Slightly different foods and the tastes were amazing. Wish we had something like this nearer to home. Quantities were generous - be warned!

Appalling quality with inept staff. Extortionate prices for food from the 70s. Avoid as there are plenty of better curry restaurants in the area. The service is a joke and no attention to detail with dishes. Will never use again. Portion sizes are cheated with a tomato sauce that is common to all their dishes. Have often walked past this restaurant but never tried until the other day. My wife and I visited on a Wednesday night. Its a big restaurant that was hardly filled so no atmosphere. Service was good but food very average. When eating Indian food I always expect exciting flavours and different experiences. Good location but a bit pricey for what you get

Because we literally live a stone’s throw away from the place we have never eaten inside but always done takeaways. Malbari king prawn masala is my favourite, with a big fluffy cheese naan. All dishes so far have been delicious and of a good quality. Friendly staff and never had to wait for too long to get our takeaways.

We were refused lunch at 14.20hrs on Monday even when the restaurant was open. The waiter was all but attentive and helpful. Good luck, don’t count on our dining.

We visited Pappadums without a booking and on a Saturday night. We really enjoyed our meal and the food was excellent. I had the chef's chicken achari to start, followed by the Goan fish curry. Both had a decent amount of spice and a really great flavour.The only issue was that we had to wait almost an hour between finishing our starters and receiving our main courses.All in all though we had a great meal and would consider returning if we are back in Brentford.

Me and my boyfriend get takeaway here all the time - they have a lot of veggie options that we always request vegan and are never disappointed! The staff are always lovely when we go to pick up too.

This is a riverside joint, attended the birthday celebration, on a nice hot day. Food veg & non veg very good. On a hot day this place is very good with the river view, people passing by. There is no immediate parking facility as one has to park the car some distance. Location of this place is not with immediate view, need to go through narrow passage. Service is very good and family friendly

I can't believe the attitude of this place - we were group of six who wanted an evening out together which included a blind friend with a very well behaved and trained guide dog - we tried to book ahead of time and advise the restaurant we had a guide dog accompanying us . We were then refused a booking because they didn't accept guide dogs - this is illegal and discriminative -

I have eaten here loads of times and find the food very good (a bit expensive though) it is in a new(ish) building and can seem a bit "industrial" to some people. I like it because it has an interesting menu - most Indian restaurants have a predictable menu, but this one has a lot of different dishes that you don't normally see.

This place has incredible food. A large selection of foods and drinks. A lovely atmosphere and very accommodating staff.

Eaten there a couple of times and enjoyed a take away. Food is very good but sometimes the service is disappointing - we had the lights dimmed on us once and the bill placed on the table at 10pm on a Saturday night with a half bottle of wine to finish and one of us still eating a main course!

For our 25th marriage anniversary, we booked out this restaurant for around 70 guests. It was a wonderful experience - the food was excellent and so the service. The head chef provided personalised service. Both starters and main courses were freshly prepared and very tasty. Also, the deserts had three choices and were liked by the guests.

My cousin took me to this Indian restaurant as this is nearby the hotel where I stayed. Just beside the river and a decent location. I liked the atmosphere. Service was good and the non veg platter we ordered was served very hot and tasty. I felt bit pricey but once in a while it is OK to have a decent dine experience. We had Appadams (Indian snack) in Pappadums and was served quickly to start the drink.

I'd heard good thing about Pappadums and was impressed by the food we got. It's in a nice spot by the river. As we were a big group we got a private room at the back which was nice.

Visited Brentford to watch my football team and fancied a curry. With this being close to the ground it seemed a good choice.

We just returned from a short stay in London at Kew Bridge. Four nights ago we ate here and really enjoyed it. The service was slow, especially as there were only about six other customers. However, the food was excellent - really well prepared, with rich flavours. It simply was fine quality food, totally unlike the average Indian (Bangladeshi I imagine) Restaurant. And although more expensive (we paid £46 for two) it was worth it, and the location is very special. Superb. I'd happily eat there again.

It was my daughters 4th birthday and there were 65-70 people in her birthday party. I have been many times with my office colleagues in the past before. Every time food and service was great. Birthday was arranged on a very short notice and wonderfully served with usual and nice food. People are nice and they let us play our song and we did dance/music. Must visit again :)

Over priced. Not the best quality. 2 restaurants near by that are atleast half the price and food tastes so much better. The view from the restaurant is very good though.

We visited this restaurant for a casual dinner.The service was ok until the hostess lady start serving us. Out of 200 pages of the menu they were not able to provide us with a dessert menu or all of its options. 3 out of 5 available with no ice cream selection.While ordering coffee it was an embarrassment too. Staff don't know what is a white coffee or care to know.After all of this the bill for 3 people were over £100. We only had mains, desserts and coffee.Portion of rice on the side costs £7.50 as much as the curry plate.I think it is a joke.Never coming back.

This is our absolute favourite place to go for Indian in the area. Best Chicken Tikka masala hands down! And delicious onion baji too!! Very friendly staff and good service too.

Many 'Indian' restaurants use a bought in sauce flavouring as a central base and then add other ingredients for different dishes. Nothing wrong with that but the sauce is much the same wherever you go. So it is nice to have something a bit different to that. Pappadums food tastes more home cooked, a real treat. The setting is lovely looking onto the waterfont and staff are friendly.

Was planning to go to the Turkish restaurant next door but decided at the last minute to try Pappdums. I've had a lot of Indian food in my life ( and hubby is from the subcontinent) but this was easily the best chicken tikka I've ever had. Definitely would recommend this place.

This restaurant is not that easy to find, and maybe is a bit surprising given where it is, but it's well worth hunting out.My family, plus my daughter's 10-year old friend, visited Pappadums on an October Saturday night. The restaurant was quiet but still felt very welcoming, which isn't easy for a fairly big, open space.The service was great from the outset. My daughter and her friend were warmly welcomed and were very much made to feel at home.I ordered a 'lightly battered and fried' chilli pepper starter, served with nuts and red onion, that was amazing. It was like eating Padron Peppers; some were mild in heat, some were really hot. Fantastic.After that, we shared a Chicken Madras, a Goan Fish Curry, Garlic Naans and various side dishes. Everything was very good indeed, and not given any real 'twists' as such. This isn't a place for unnecessary modifications to dishes, it's a good menu done very well.Definitely worth a visit.

We decided to head out to Pappadoms as people had recommended it as a good place to have a curry. Nice location and spacious, so was looking forward to a nice evening, but this all changed when we came to order out food.My husband and son orders their meal, and I ordered tandoori lamb with a plain boiled rice (not very adventurous, but on a diet) I was told by the waitress that I couldn't have this, as the lamb was a starter and not a main meal. I explained that this was the best option for me as I was on a diet, and couldn't understand why I wasn't able to order this. after some polite encouragement and explaining that having the lamb with rice will turn the dish into a main meal for me, and I would be really happy and comfortable to eat it this way. She looked at me as if I was odd, but in the end took my order and walked away. The food was ok, I enjoyed the lamb/rice combo, and the boys liked their curry, but during our entire meal not one person came over to see if we were happy with our meal, and no further drink orders where taken or asked for. Maybe I had upset them with my choices. Overall a disappointing evening and won't be going back again anytime soon.

This restaurant is located off the High St, close to the river. Nice spot. When I visited the service was slow the whole time - even though there were not many other customers. Then the first three drink choices I selected from the menu were not available. The food was nice and generous in quantity. The restaurant had no pleasant dining atmosphere at all so, once I was able to get the bill, I was happy to leave.

The restaurant was empty.A member of staff was behind a desk on his phone,as we entered he just pointed to a area of the room,not impressed.However the food was really well presented and the quality of food was really good.3x of us 2x starters 3x pints and a soft drink £90.(service charge inc) Would not say it was a value for money place,Higher price as its located by a lock? I recently took my wife here to celebrate a work deal. I have to say the food was superb (butterfly king prawn in particular), as well as the fish curry. I read some reviews saying the level of service was poor, I cannot agree with this from my experience. Leo was fantastic with us, making it a memorable visit. My only gripe is the price of it, but then I guess you pay for a view, and it is delightfully situated right next to the Thames. I'll be back, but it's not a "regular" spot for the price!

Upon entering we were met by a waiter who tried to sit us at a table we did not want. The place was empty and thankfully someone a bit more friendly showed us to a more acceptable offering.Many times when you go to Indian Restaurants the food is aimed at the 'English palate'. This can mean purple, reds and yellow food colorings and worst of all a reduction In the quality of the spices required to provide that authentic taste. The Chef, staff and owner are all from India and the quality and taste of the food is very good indeed. The drinks prices are reasonable and the wine very well priced.The menu is varied and the choice good.Naan bread or roti are made fresh and the general quality of the meal is of a very good standard indeed.The waiting staff became more friendly the more we talked to them and after a while we were all getting on very well indeed!!!The place quickly filled and the resulting service was good and we were not hurried once.A very bright, modern and fresh restaurant with excellent views of the lock and river. A very pleasant place to eat and to stroll to and from.Once the food arrived, the taste was superb!!!! Very Indian and the Chef certainly portrayed the excellence of Indian Cuisine.Poppadoms were served to nibble on at the start with very tiny dishes of dips and chutneys. We ate here for the first and last time.We were the only customers here that day, we were not even welcomed into the restaurant, very strange behavior! We had to ask if it was open, we had to ask if we could sit somewhere.....What we ordered as starter came after it sat in the kitchen until it was cold, when complained, the starter was taken back and dropped into oil to be fried again. looked like a day or two old starter, was not even fresh, did not look appetising. The main was average, and the naan was not made after a naan recipe. I do not recommend this restaurant for food, the service is really bad.

It's a pity this place is so hard to find, because it's a delight. Even on a cold wet night, the view across the Thames to Kew Gardens is charming. Service was friendly and effecient, the food was great. I'm a bit of a hot curry wimp. I asked for mild and that's what I got. Almost empty on a Friday night , so I'm telling all my friends. We made a booking for 4 people, but when we arrived at the restaurant there appeared to be a private party going on and we were not made to feel very welcome for our booking. This was very disappointing as we are not familiar with this area and so did not really know where else to eat. We cannot understand why a reservation was taken for this particular night when it was obvious the restaurant was not open to general bookings.

Just go somewhere different.. slow service. Hot drinks out of the fridge.. ran out of beer.. bought ring dishes and wrong rice to the table. All this on a Tuesday. .. got help them...Even charged us for all the wrong dishes..

Staying in local area and didn't want to eat at hotel, went out for a walk and happened on this restaurant. So glad I did. Wasn't a busy evening (was a Sunday) which can sometimes mean the service gets lazy but not the case here. A rich and varied menu which was well priced for London and came with good portions for the money. Very relaxing evening and very tasty food. Can't recommend it enough.
