Nice beers, large garden, parking, good food, what more would you want in a pub? Perfect in good weather, still great when the weather is bad!

I'm torn as to how to rate this place as although the welcome, the locals and the food were all excellent we had a very disappointing experience overall. On arrival we noticed the sign saying 'no under 14's in the bar area.' As we had our 14 month old grandson with us my husband went in to check first and we were told we could go into the garden. Luckily for us it was a warm October day. No highchairs available but clearly not a family friendly pub. The main problem for us was the resident dog, a year old massive 'puppy' who was uncontrollable, put his face right up to the baby in the pushchair and was barking loudly. We were warned that the dog would grab items and run off with them so 'be careful.' This was all said in the spirit of being helpful but when you're responsible for keeping a baby safe it was scary. Many of the people in the pub who obviously knew the dog well tried to keep him away but were unsuccessful and the baby became terrified. They all kept apologising, which was appreciated, but we weren't able to relax and enjoy our food. After we had finished eating another gentleman came out and eventually caught the dog by the scruff of the neck, walked him right past us and smacked him about the head. I said 'please don't hit him, it's not his fault.' The man replied that this is the only way he will learn. Now I grew up with dogs and never did I ever feel the need to wallop one to train them. On a more positive note the lady who cooked the food was lovely, the steak pie really was home made and delicious. She spent a while chatting to us and she also tried to keep the dog away from the baby. It's a shame I wouldn't feel comfortable to come back because a) it's not family friendly and b) the cruelty shown to the poor dog.

Called in at the last minute for food before a long journey home. We got there just before the kitchen was closing and there were 8 of us. The staff were more than happy to serve us some food. The steak pie was absolutely gorgeous. The only negative comment I have about the food was the mash was very bland and didn't really taste of anything. Overall a very welcoming pub and he lived nearer would definitely go again.

My husband and I have been here several times now and not been disappointed. Surprised to find a large car park off the main road. Pa is a delight and very proud of her cooking. I must say, several times now I've had the scampi and chips which I've thoroughly enjoyed and my husband's steak pie was like home-made accompanied by a jug of gravy. (Pies are usually full of air and very little meat, but not these!) On another occasion, my husband and son had the chilli which was delicious. So nice to find a pub that really is an old-style pub and not a bistro pub. Service all round was very friendly and the place has a great atmosphere. Also nice that children under a certain age are not permitted......

Heard a lot about how good this Thai food was ( albeit last entry Jan 2018) so I thought I'd try it. Wow what a disappointment in contrast to the previous reviews on here. Ordered Pad Thai, a staple and one of my favourites. Took a while to arrive even though no one else eating but what the heck, at least it'll be fresh right? Wrong. Absolutely flavour less stodge arrived. Overcooked and chicken dry & hard, cut to 2 mm widths. No spring onions (Or so I mistakenly thought.) I pushed it to one side after a couple of attempts and was clocked by the landlord (a good fella from previous experience who serves good beer) who obviously told the Thai chef. 'The chef' asked what was wrong and I told her. She searched the meal and found a tiny spring onion (apologies all round as so small, I missed it on my search.) Told her I cooked better myself and to her credit she offered a refund which I took, appology sadly spoilt by the ' Enjoy your own cooking' comment as she walked off. Good pub lousy thai food. You may be luckier if I caught her on a cynical off day but if not you've been warned......

It was a discovery to have dinner here. the Thai food was really good, looked fresh and appetising and was really tasty; the best Thai food I had in England; the lady of the house cooks herself and is a warm hearted person - the interior of the pub is a bit basic but who cares if the food is great and the treatment and service is also very good (nearly forgot to say: the value was good! 4 friends paid 45 Pounds for 4 best quality main courses which were plenty of food, without drinks)

Having had a lovely family Sunday lunch here before of roast lamb and roast beef, I suggested a visit to a couple of friends for the Thai curry night on Saturday evening. Between us we had both the red and green curries which we all agreed were the best we had ever tasted. Pa served the food herself and said everything is freshly prepared. The curries on a Saturday night are only £8.50 which includes a mixed starter and are worth every penny. the pub has a very friendly atmosphere and a good range of beers available, will definitely be going back for more of the best pub food I have ever tasted, try it and I am sure you will not be disappointed

The Thai food here is better than any Thai restaurant that I have been to and it is very reasonable in price. Sometimes there is a small wait for food if it is busy however that is because she cooks everything fresh and it is well worth the wait. Try it as it is like a hidden gem! The pub also has a really nice feel to it.

It is a real locals pub with lovely food served by Pa herself. We had a delicious mixed starter followed by red and green Thai curries. All cooked with fresh ingredients. The Bisley locals are a great bunch who are always up for a friendly chat and always make a fuss of our Staffy dog. The beer is well kept. Background music great. Hard to fault it.

After taking our car to the garage for servicing we were recommended The Hen and Chickens for a meal whilst we were waiting which was fairly near by. We were given a very warm welcome by the staff who were extremely accommodating and very helpful. This pub was well lived in and cosy. The landlords dog was lovely and made this pub very relaxing as he was spread out on the floor quite happily. He answers to the name of Ollie and he was very well behaved indeed. The food was well cooked and nice and hot so the next time we take the car to Bisley for a service we will certainly visit PA's Kitchen again.

This is a little local gem we discovered, which can offer a genuine taste of Thai or equally a lovely Sunday roast, and a few things in between (scampi, burgers... ).

A recent welcome addition to this village outside Woking. Pa herself was the celebrated Thai chef at the popular Crown & Anchor in Old Woking, and has started this venture to provide great and authentic Thai food for those who want it, with a good selection of pub grub for those who want to be more traditional - including roast lunches on Sundays. Pa has a menu which is currently fairly limited, but don't let that put you off - it took me ages to think of a Thai dish she couldn't produce in a matter of minutes. I had prawn fried rice, and my companion had a vegetarian curry. Yummy. Now, do we go for the roast on Sunday, or for Thai food...
