It was very noisy at the time we went, kids were running about. Beer was good.

Good food and ale, staff always friendly. Nice pub.

Lovely pub and very surprised it wasn’t busy . The staff were very welcoming and the food was delicious . Home cooked steak and ale pie was one of the best I have ever eaten . The Sunday roasts that my family had were aswell .Glad we found this place .

reat meal last night Cracking cheese and onion pie, chips and peas. Simple bit blinking gorgeous. Tweaked a bit, swapped in mushy peas for garden peas and also had a massive jug of very tasty gravy. Staff great Very good value

Great old charm inside and nice relaxed atmosphere outside.

Friendly, spacious pub with ample parking. Dog friendly and never too busy! Steak & Caramelised onion wrap with chunky chips is my favourite here!

Love that they allow dogs in here! The food is fabulous, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, we will definitely continue to come here.

Superb experience in a decent pub off the beaten track , visited bank holiday Monday and surprisingly quiet, however had an excellent meal with great service.

This large old pub building is perhaps off the beaten track for many. It's a Holts house, so that's where there offerings come from. We went early evening mid week and it was pretty empty, which meant the atmosphere wasn't great (given the size of the pub, it'd need to be pretty full to feel good). Staff were attentive enough, but again, it was quiet, so hard to know how it might be if it were busy. We didn't dinner, but the menu seemed to offer typical fare for the type of venue.

Really pleasant lunch. Service was excellent and very attentive staff. Couldn't fault our meals. For pub food it was perfectly acceptable and lovely and hot. Portions are substantial and reasonably priced. The steak pie tasted homemade and was full of meat and the spring green vegetables are very satisfying. I would definitely recommend this establishment.

We have literally never had a bad meal here. We ate today for Mother’s Day and had a fantastic 3 course meal. Lots of gluten free options for one member of the family. Really good, affordable pub food and drinks were great. Staff are so friendly and accomodating.

Really like the place and the staff. As well as a destination pub I also use this as a stopping place when walking to Cineworld. Good clientele, very friendly and efficient bar staff.

Had lunch here a few days ago. From the minute we walked in we were really well looked after by the staff on duty. There was a really nice lad with curly hair who was so polite and courteous. He took our order at the table, which you wouldn't expect at a pub lunch. Well done to him! We had chicken wings and bruschetta for starters and chili con carne and sea bass for mains. Both were perfectly acceptable for pub food. The restaurant seems very quiet at lunchtime but seems to fill up after 3 pm onwards. Everything is very clean and nice and warm ambiance. Would definitely recommend. Well done Parrswwod staff and thankyou for a lovely lunch.

The beer was not good. The place was cold, no banter with the staff. Disappointed.

As a regular memebership of “Monday night crew” may I politely ask that the long table be reinstated back to its original place facing the bar? Easy place for Sunday lunch with prams. Interior presents well.

We had a buffet for a private event. Food was tasty but it wasn't hot. The coffee was also luke warm. Staff were pleasant and atmosphere was lovely.

This lovely pub kindly provided a delicious buffet for our dearly loved late mums funeral. All the team were super helpful throughout the day and in helping arranging everything. Massive thank you to all of you ❤🥰

Went here for a post-funeral wake. The pub is large inside, clean and tidy . Plenty of outdoor seating. The buffet food was delicious and plentiful. Staff polite and efficient. Good selection of drinks which were slightly pricey, but that's the way of the world these days. Recommended.

£4.15 for a pint of Diet Coke? How do they justify that?

The female who served me was fascinated by another group of people. She told them about the history of the pub. She then told them incorrect facts about the building opposite. How could I know this? because I was a pupil at the school, which used to be on the opposite corner She made it clear that we were no more than an inconvenience. I felt most unwelcome, and had it not been for having my 101 year old father, who has mobility issues, we should have walked away. It will be interesting to hear their response.

It’s a decent pub with friendly staff and nice home cooked food. I enjoy the quiz on Tuesdays.

The food and drink were simply outstanding. I tried a few different dishes and everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The beer selection was impressive, with a wide range of local and international brews to choose from. What really stood out to me, though, was the service. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I had a great time and that all my needs were taken care of. Their attention to detail and genuine care for their customers made the experience truly memorable. Very bad experience, I took 5 friends for Sunday Lunch on the 22nd November 2022, service very slow ordered 6 meals only five arrived, staff looked bord and uninterested, food was mediocre and cold, no apology given, small deduction offered, a completely ruined day out. Would not recommend. Bad management, lucky to get one star.

The Parrswood has recently been refurbished to a high standard. It is a big building with several sections so you can find privacy even when it's busy. The food is great, there is a good variety of beers, wines etc. and the staff are lovely!!!

I've been coming to the Parrs Wood since the 1980s - literally, since before I was legally able to drink, and Boddington's cost 88p a pint. It's come a long way since those days. Boddington's died a death when they moved the brewery to Luton and now they serve Lees - a great local pint. The decor is great, it's lovely and spacious, and is now a great place to bring your family for a tasty pub lunch. The staff know how to look after the beer, and are very attentive with both children and adult customers.

Ordered food and watched it taken around pub before arriving at our table. One meal was cold so asked waitress over to explain and she actually picked a piece of the steak up in her fingers and said oh ye? Took away and waited for it to return microwaved to death. Not impressed

Great pub, pretty beer garden, good food 👍 They had an mod-week offer on the banner outside "2 courses for £10" No more info inside and when we asked there wasn't much info given... all we could figure it was that there were less items on the menu for that offer which is reasonable but where we're those reduced menus? Ended up with 1 course each full price because we couldn't figure it out. Parking limited but plenty of street parking near by. The inside of this pub is beautiful.. very comfortable and impressive. Will return

Amazing outdoor experience, if it's good weather and you are someone who enjoy nice and calm place with great outdoor sitting area, Then it's a must.

This place is huge and a cheaper option for Didsbury really, I think it is family friendly and as result is not the best food or beer but it is reasonable and great for what it is. I would not choose to come here for a special occasion but it is a good option if you want a drink and snack with friends/family.

Decent effort in difficult circumstances. Reasonable outdoor seating and plenty of it front and back. Pretty good and friendly service, although prices up to compensate and the range of beers somewhat limited. There was food availability early on, but by the time my two friends wanted to order the kitchen had already closed. Covid precautions (cleaning, masks etc.) all being followed. Post Covid update - restrictions eased, but pub spacious so no problem sitting apart from other groups. More staff on, so service good and quick. However some parts now curtained off, forcing customers to crowd into the remainder of the pub. OTOH pizzas still top notch. OT recently when I click "contribute more" Google repeatedly comes up with a box "Parrs Wood Bar is there another place that you manage?", which has no facility to answer. For the record I have nothing to do with this pub's management now, nor in the past. Further update. Now operating normally. Food very good. Drink selection good, if pricey, apart from the uninspiring real ale (MPA and Lee's bitter), but that is down to the brewery not the pub. Loads of outdoor space in fair weather, including an enclosed rear garden safe for small children.

Food was so bad,had the Sunday lunch,who puts cucumber on a Sunday lunch. Roast potatoes so big not cooked ,all I ate was the meat, I am a support worker and took my clients with me to eat very very disappointed. Will not be going again.

Lovely staff in a friendly safe enviroment

I booked the Green Room for my 60th for 31 guests. The staff and chef at the Parrswood made this a really lovely occasion. Food was 1st class, the table service polite, respectful and discreet. I couldn't have wished for a better party!! Thank you Ranya, Michael and everyone. We'll be back!

Excellent Sunday roast. £12 for just the main which was a pretty big portion with all the sides where everything was nice. They also do lots of offers other nights of the week that look good value. Cool interior and beer garden

Good place to have a drink and chill out

Place is huge!! Very clean with lots of seating and side rooms. The guy serving was very polite and helpful. Highly recommend, especially on a hot day as they have a great outdoor area.

Called here on a sunny Spring Saturday afternoon because everywhere in Didsbury village was packed out. Really glad we did. Not too crowded. Family friendly. Extensive menu with generous portions and very reasonably priced. Will call again when in the area.

We held a Baby Brunch for my daughter yesterday. The staff were absolutely amazing and catered for our every need. The pizza, salad and chips for 20 adults was perfect. I really couldn’t fault it at all and I thank you so much for making it a huge success 👏🏻👍👶🏼

I want to give more stars. It's a great looking pub and so big. I feel it has huge potential that it's not quite realising, especially when it comes to food.

The parrswood itself is an excellent pub the only down fall is the price of its drinks.For a pub not in the centre of didsbury the drinks are very over priced ( I know its not the managements fault it's the brewery that sets the prices) .If they drop the prices it would be a busy pub
