Been going to this cafe for years now and it’s always a great experience, the coffee and food are delicious on top of being fairly priced considering London standards; the staff are handsome, very relatable and fun to chat to, all these bad reviews a expecting some sort of non personal - starbucks like - service are quite baffling, but to each their one I suppose.

This one of my favourite places to have a weekday lunch special, after a swim. The specials menu is great. The standard Hoxton Beach menu items are reliably delicious too. Often has great selection of seasonal fruit and excellent bread to take home.

When it comes to food, I usually love cooking at home. But after a cold swim, there's nothing better than the comfort of a warm meal and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s such a great feeling to be somewhere that feels like home, enjoying delicious dishes. Always a pleasure.

I’ve been using the lido and cafe regularly for over 3 years, I enjoy a coffee and food after a swim. The coffee is very good, the staff are charming and the food is delicious. A combination that is not easy to find these days. Richard x

As a regular swimmer I come to the Lido Cafe many times a week. It’s a very special place. The coffee is excellent, as is the pastries, the pizza, the felafel and the specials. The vibe is great and you can even pick up a loaf of bread. The staff have their way… sometimes a bit grumpy and yes sometimes there’s a long queue if the sun is shining and it’s very busy… but it actually just makes the place feel real, and them feel like real people, rather than some weird fake cheerfulness when the place is packed full of shivering and dripping swimmers. Don’t ever change Lido Cafe, we love you!

The Parly Hill Lido cafe is a vital cog for the whole Heath community, providing first rate food/ refreshment/swim clothing, artefacts featuring local artists and authors for all generations and families and the most wonderful, relaxed atmosphere. It is a critical feature of the whole Lido experience and we would all be completely lost without it.

nice food. They helpfully cater for vegans (my son has a dairy allergy), and the porridge is particularly good after a cold swim! Only gave four stars for atmosphere because it is sometimes too crowded, but that is the price you pay for such good food!

There are little pleasures that beat the warm soup after a winter cold swim at the lido cafe! I have come often and never experienced rudeness but I acknowledge I wouldnt mind a bit more warmth from the staff themselves.

Terrible service level. The blonde lady here is the grumpiest person I have ever come across working in hospitality. She somehow manages to serve people without saying a single word. A shame because it's a lovely spot otherwise.

The Lido Cafe is a little gem, serving fantastic food, pastries and great coffee in the beautiful setting of Parliament hill lido. There is something for everyone - delicious and healthy lunches as well as easy comfort food which the kids love, and always new, interesting artwork on the walls to enjoy. The owner Emma is extremely welcoming and friendly, and has made this cafe an important part of the local community. The extra marshmallows courtesy of Alessio are also much appreciated by my daughter on a Saturday! Thank you!

Rude older french lady, if you dont like people in general and have a sour attitude maybe dont get a job in a cafe.

This cafe is 10/10. I don't write many reviewes, but have visited here often over the last few weeks. Sitting in the sun, great music, friendly service and above all the food is unreal. All homemade, with a wide variety from savoury to sweet.

Had the most incredible falafel wrap here today - moist and delicious falafel, halloumi, and a fantastic array of fresh homemade salads and pickles. A must visit for any falafel fan (or good enough to convert prior falafel sceptics like myself). Lovely smiley service from the man behind the counter - we’ll be back!

I am from the “continent” and you’d have to be extremely unlucky to find the level of rudeness, and condescending flare that customers are inflicted by staff here. Especially a blonde French lady who finds everything a nuisance - dogs, children, people, croissants, the lot. No amount of smiles can melt their heart. They are the rudest bunch of people in North London. Dommage because the food is delicious.

The Hoxton Beach cafe at the Parliament Hill Lido serves excellent value food, particularly the daily specials (like soups and stews). The food is made fresh on site, with high quality ingredients. The shop is also full of a variety of cool products that are hard to find elsewhere. The owner, Emma, is delightful and prides herself on her offering and high standards. Staff are fun and quirky and infuse the place with a real sense of community. Don't be fooled by the occasional 'continental' attitude to customer service - the whole staff is really lovely.

I had the laksa special and it did not disappoint. Always watch out for the specials. - food wise because they are great. Next to the lido as well so you can cold water swim, work up and appetite and then eat! Great

Incredible team, excellent food, and at the heart of Hampstead heath what more do you want! The falafel wrap is incredible and the perfect takeaway food to grab for your heath walk, or get one of their daily specials for something a bit different but equally as delicious! Couldn’t recommend it more!

My favourite café in one of London's most beautiful spot! The food is cheap and absolutely delicious. Coffee is delicious too. This is a café with its own character, nothing like a chain. The staff and the owner do care about what they do.

I love this place so much. Couldn’t do without. The food is delicious, the owner really goes the extra mile to find good quality products, and Akmed is an excellent chef. Lovely attentive staff when you get to know them. And great music, always.

Me and my colleagues adore the Lido cafe. The food is excellent, the staff are so helpful and lovely. I think the bad reviews are people who are expecting some kind of restaurant vibe rather than a park cafe. Never change Lido Cafe!

A true gem. Homemade specials every day, from stews to even Moroccan tagines. A great place to sip coffee on a chilly day or take food to the Heath for a picnic. And you don’t have to go to the Lido itself to access it, you can go from the Heath side. Highly recommended!

For me this is the best cafe in London! Situated at the foothills of Hampstead Heath and backing onto the sparkling 60-metre lido, with a friendly community atmosphere, great coffee (Square Mile), delicious pastries (baked daily at Doree bakery, Homerton), a lunch menu that varies daily (tagine, laksa, fish & chips etc.), a rolling art exhibition on the walls, friendly staff and lots of happy dogs fresh off the Heath. There is outdoor seating front and back and cosy feel inside. Open all year round.

Regular come here the staff are friendly and kind the food is great and after a cold swim warms you through. Makes the swims worth it for a treat here at the end (Especially the toasties also best fries I’ve ever had)

I’ve been going here for years. The food is always great and heart-warming. The specials are always changing and worth trying. Shakshuka I had on my last visit was great. Staff are friendly and always polite and charming.

Consistently rude service. Don’t think I’ve ever seen the woman with blonde hair smile! Surely she’s in the wrong job! Coffee and food are good. But really not worth it for the curt staff.

Rather rude staff. Espresso was expensive at £3.20, burnt and under extracted. Avoid for coffee. Perhaps the food is better.

Overprice products and on top of that they charge £2.50 for few icescubes apart from the price of the drink a bit abusive if you ask me. Hildren Mc and cheese more like just a cup of pasta hardly any cheese for £5 quids . No eating or buying anything in here anymore! Staff slow and unfriendly

Some of the world’s most horrible staff. Maybe they’re trying to win a competition for it? It’s also extortionate. Clearly a business that will get the trade either way, so zero effort needs to be made.

They should know not to pour a Cappuccino from one cup to another

Rude staff made us feel unwelcome, like having customers was in inconvenience. Also told us a vegetarian pizza was pepperoni - are they even paying attention? And there was a pigeon in there. Terrible vibes would not recommend.

Absolutely love the Lido cafe - like the Lido itself, it is a national treasure! The food is fantastic, the staff team make it feel like a little trip to Europe every visit and Alessio makes the best coffee in London. Thank you!!

Great coffee, the unfriendly staff really let it down. Why they can’t simply put a bowl of water out for the dogs and show a smile to their paying customers, I do not understand. It’s like they don’t want to be there. It really spoils the otherwise lovely vibe. Also saw pigeons landing on the salads and the falafel stands. Gross.

My happy place in North London- simply the best breakfasts , and the staff (specially Emma, Alessio, Elodie and Ahmed) have become like family over the years : never afraid to give attitude if you act out “NW3 entitled and privileged” (eg when sending coffee back because it’s not ‘extra hot enough’ , or complaining about a little queue)….but when they smile and joke with you it’s actually genuine , unlike the fake smiles and fast service (designed to get you leaving quick) at other personality-devoid cafes in London. Really a special place with wonderful people .

My mum was visiting from overseas and our lovely visit to the Lido was really spoiled by the rude guy working behind the counter. We came in after our swim, in dry robes but with slightly wet feet. The guy went mad, raising his voice and shaming us in front of a cafe full of people. Every other cafe / pub / shop in the country has to deal with wet floors when it rains, surely one attached to a swimming pool can?? Either put something on the floors or put a sign up to tell people they can't come in with wet feet. I'll not be back, easy money lost. Hoxton Beach - get a grip of this.

Falafel wrap is the only reason to come here, it's excellent. The tea/coffee is on par with what you'd get free at a church jumble sale and best avoided. Those that mention the friendliness of the staff clearly have their bar set at zero!

Coffee is fine, and the cakes and pastries are delicious. However I had the croque monsieur there and it was basically a hate crime against the French. Dry brown bread, cold ham and cheese and some microwaved bechamel on top. Definitely would never eat there again.

We enjoyed a very tasty sandwich and luxury cider after a swim!
