Brought my family for lunch on Sunday. Lovely meal, generous portions & great bar staff. Great selection of drinks and plenty of room for the kids to run off some energy outside. Will be returning soon.

Simply the best carvery in the region, yes times have changed, you can't get your own food, yes certain things were not on the menu (cauliflower cheese) but it was priced very well (£7 for the large carvery) beautifully cooked meat, huge Yorkshire puds, lovely proper roasties and stuffing, fresh veg and tasty gravy... what is not to love. Top it off with a lovely manager and staff. Great place. Shame some people who visit can't appreciate that the restaurant has only just opened again, teething problems. No need to scream and shout at the manager for a genuine mix up with meals that she did apologise for in person at the table, but all she got was some abuse. Shocking behavior!

Just had Sunday lunch in the Park View at Swinton what a bad experience it was had a mix up with the meals some got no mashed potatoes some meals got no roast potatoes different size meal overall general cock up tried to explain to the landlady what was wrong and all we got was a load of abuse shouting in front of other customers saying she's broke her foot yesterday and it's hard working the kitchen I'm quite sure if you've got a broken foot and on crutches it's not a safe environment to work in the kitchen for herself and other staff and other member of staff tried to tell her that we customer are right and agreed with us and told her basically sort it out but she didn't seem to listen didn't care very rude landlady.

Booked Christmas dinner, everything apart from the meat was inedible, including the "muddy water" gravy, everything tasted like it was straight from the freezer NOT FRESH, service was terrible, dropping a fork on my sister without saying as little as a "sorry", with the cost at £55pp I definitely won't be returning as i wouldn't have even paid £2 for this meal.

I had my wedding reception here recently. The room looked amazing, the food was impeccable, and the staff were so helpful and polite. Michelle done a fantastic job of organising it all so I didn’t have to worry about a thing. Highly recommended for any kind of function

Our Football club are lucky enough to boast the Park View as their base. The venue hosts all our meetings, presentation night and post match drinks. The taproom is great, several TVs and no blind spots so everyone can see, cracking selection of beers, ciders, polite staff Top top place

We had the most amazing wedding day here. We had the full all inclusive reception. Beautiful 2 course sit down meal and buffet in the evening reception. Michelle and her staff were brilliant, couldn't do enough for us. The venue was decorated beautifully, couldn't fault a single thing. Will definitely be having my babies christening do here in the summer.

I came here with my family on Sunday for our dinner. The food was amazing. All fresh veg, homemade Yorkshire puddings and choice of three meats. Staff were really helpful and polite and friendly.

Me my family and friends go for carvary here quite alot. I phone to let them know I'm coming because I'm gluten free then they make me yorkshire puddings and gravy. Staff are lovely and can't do enough for us from when we get there to leaving. The food is amazing from the choice of meats you can have to how the meat melts in your mouth. Also the vegatables there is a good choice of them and so I'm told the cauliflower cheese is to die for. Oh yes don't forget the soup for starters different varieties each week and tastes amazing too.

Read some reviews on the Sunday carvery at the park view so myself and my husband had Sunday carvery today it was the best one we have had in a long time. The complementary soup to start was a nice touch home made vegetable and it was delicious the carvery was lovely and the cauliflower cheese was exceptionally good. The staff here are so helpfull and the friendly service is excellent. We travelled here from Doncaster it's not that far twenty minutes by car and it is far better in quality and value than any other of the carvery places nearer to us. We will definitely go to eat there again.Thank you for a top meal.

Used to come here a couple of years ago decided to travel from Sheffield after viewing the menu on the web site but on arrival at 5pm on a Friday the bar was full of drinkers in yellow jackets making a lot of noise . Barmaid says can I help and I said we've come for a meal she replies oh we don't do food anymore . So anyone reading reviews or the web page save your time going here . Ruined our evening .

We have attended the New Year’s Eve parties 3 years in a row- great fun, good entertainment and disco. Would definitely recommend. Staff very welcoming and friendly.

We have been to the Park View New Years Eve party for the last few and always enjoyed it , this year our party of 10 enjoyed the night very much the room looked magnificent and the hog roast buffet was delicious , only criticism this year was the singer was not up to the high standard of previous years , hope next year the singer is the one from the year before as he was brilliant and made the evening special .

Went here with family for Xmas day dinner, wasn't disappointed eaten here before food always wonderful. We had our Xmas dinner here as a party of sixteen. I can’t praise the staff enough.They all worked really hard to ensure we enjoyed our meal, As for the meal it was delicious,everything was cooked to perfection with plenty of choice.The venue itself is lovely,a credit to the owners.We have already booked for next year,and would highly recommend it to everyone.

Wouldn’t go here again! The food was awful, the meat was very dry. We both left a large portion of these meal as we couldn’t eat it. Told the waitress that the food wasn’t good and she said she would tell the manager. After leaving the park view I phoned to tell the manger and she said thanks for letting me know!!! What a joke. Will not be going back.

Been to parkview this dinner time for carvery. From the moment of arriving to leaving the staff were brilliant and so helpful. They made us feel so welcome. I am gluten free and they have no problem with this in fact they cook their food so people with allergies can eat it too which is brilliant. I had Mushroom soup to start with which was so tasty then carvary which has gluten free Yorkshire pudding and gravy but now includes gluten free stuffing balls. If you want a lovely tasting carvary with a friendly atmosphere then come here. Just ring them up let them know your allergy and they will try their best to cater for you.

What an amazing venue. We held our wedding reception at the Park View in July 2017 and the service we received was second to none. Michelle and her staff were fantastic and the venue had been decorated to a extremely high standard. Every one of our guests have commented on how beautiful the venue was and how wonderful both the afternoon meal and evening buffet were. We cannot recommend the venue and service highly enough. A huge thank you to Michelle and everyone involved for making our wedding day perfect.

We came here, because we saw the heading "Award Winning Sunday Carvery", well that had to be checked out. Well, we found the staff couldn't be more friendly, had never been before but felt like we had known them for years.

We booked the Sunday Carvery for my mother in laws 70th birthday. There was a large party of us which kept growing right up until the day. This was never any problem for Michelle who accommodated all 46 of us! Nothing was too much trouble and the staff at Park View are very helpful. The food itself is excellent, no complaints at all. My only minor criticism would be that service was slightly slow, but this was due I believe to being short staffed on the day, which cannot be helped. Overall it was a lovely afternoon, enjoyed by all.

Went for Sunday lunch at the parkview pub and restaurant food was fantastic and staff very friendly. Fabulous views from restaurant.

We came here as a family of 4 the food was really tasty , the only fault there very tight with the meat compared to other places , my son only had a slice as big as the palm of his hand , but apart from that it was delicious

We recently had our child's christening here and can not thank the staff enough. Excellent friendly management who is on hand to help with all your queries and can not do enough to make your day special. We had carvey for around 50 people which was homecooked hot and very tasty! Everyone was complimenting the food! Thank you again for everything and would definitely recommend for any event or even just the Sunday carvey! We have also have attended on a Sunday for the carvey which is always hot and home cooked. You get soup and a carvey for £6.95 such a bargain for home cooked food!

After visiting Park View many times, more likely for a Sunday carvery, the food is simply fantastic. A true homely lunch with delicious vegetables, always fresh and a brilliant selection of meat. There is always complimentary soup to start if you want it. The staff are very friendly and chatty.I have also attended an event here, a Lady Gaga tribute. It was outstanding. I would definitely recommend Park View to anyone. First class food and very comfortable atmosphere.

During my many travels across the country as a food and wine connoisseur came across this delightful gem of a place, glorious home made food cooked to perfection and great views across the countryside all served by very friendly staff 5* Food and Service excellent

Since my first carvery back in 2015 i believe I must have missed maybe a handful of Sunday's between then and now, This alone should tell you that the food, atmosphere and staff make to a pleasant experience never mind how good the value is.

I had the great good fortune to be invited to the Park View by a friend when I was visiting in yorkshire. It was a wonderful experience! The service was attentive without being obtrusive - which is a hard balance to achieve. The food was well presented, tasty and - dare I say it - not expensive! I will definitely be back!

Great night was had by all. A great venue, we had the smaller room. Which was perfect. Michelle and all her staff were fantastic. Couldn't have had it in a better place. Very nice buffet and the cakes never stood a chance. Would highly recommend this place for a 'bit of a do'.

Haven't eaten here but the following review is what happened to us. My partner and I went here to see the wedding room has my partner and I wanted to get married on 23/12/2017. When we got there the girl said her mum had not even told her we were coming. But she kindly showed us anyway, Asked if the date was available was told don't see a problem with that so u got excited. The young lady told me that her mum will ring me later had she wasn't in till 6 because she organiser's the weddings great not a problem. So 8 that night this bin Thursday the mother and I discussed things and told her I was happy but obviously needed to talk to my fiancé and family has they were helping with deposit, so was told no problem the mother agreed but said she was going away Friday till Monday so it will be OK to contact then. Anyway discussed it with family so sent a message on fb site straight away sat morning saying we wanted the venue and pay deposit Monday when they got back just so who ever read it wud know we wanted it and could inform the mum soon as she was back. No reply so sent again. Still nothing. Anyway Tuesday morning missed call I got with a message saying goes I will phone u at 4 no problem I replied. In mean time excited to be going there. Anyway about 3 was sent a message if there was any chance I cud change the date of my wedding I mean the cheek of it. I said no of course not that was our date. Well they can't give me the venue cos they booked a party in on the 23 I was so upset told them that was unfair I was told the date was OK and of course couldn't pay has they were away. She told me well u didn't get bk to me Friday morning well wait a min she rang me Thurs night and wanted a answer Friday morning yet I needed to speak to family but hence she was going away till Monday u was very angry and upset has this was really where I wanted to be. Then 10.30 at night she asked me if should she ask the party to swap dates I mean really. So hence my review is what it is. It is very unprofessional to say the least and treating people like u can't expect an answer in 12 hours which is through the night. Utter disgrace

We're do I start the room was amazing in fact no breath taking the staff were amazing the food was amazing an Michelle the manager went above an beyond to make our special day even more special than we could have imagined I would recommend this venue to any 1 an 5 stars is not enough thank you to everyone that had a part in making it magical

Hadn't been to the park view before but got tickets with friends for the New Year's Eve party.Absolutely terrific night, d.j. Was excellent with a great mix of danceable songs unlike a lot of self indulgent ones I have encountered. The live act was also excellent singing lots of danceable tunes. The roast pork sandwiches were lovely and calling tables up by name meant no queuing like at the mad rush buffets, and finally the fantastic hard working staff who helped make it a great night. What a bargain for £20 a head We will definitely be returning to sample your Sunday carvery.Many thanks and a happy new year.

Friendly service, good quality food. Lovely melt in the mouth pork, very good Yorkshires. Help yourself to all the veg. Cauliflower cheese was particularly good. The complimentary Onion soup was particularly tasty also. First time that we had been but would definitely go again and would recommend also.

The food is of high quality, the meat is cook so it melts in your mouth.The service is brilliant and they make you feel welcome. I have a wheat tolerance and they think of me when making their food so I can eat it too. I have wheat free gravy n Yorkshire puds with my dinner . The cost of the carvary is really good value too, £6.95 for two course. I'd recommend anyone who wants a carvary to come here.

As a family we eat Sunday lunch most weeks at the park view, the food is always of a very high standard, fresh, hot and competitively priced.I was thrilled to hear that Park view now do take out Sunday lunches as sometimes we like to eat later and have no time to cook at home. Again the quality of the food is second to none, a simple phone call in the morning to order the meals is all it takes. Just arrive and pick up the meals in the take out containers and the rest of the day is ours.Fantastic would highly recommend

We recently hired the function room at the Park View to celebrate a 25th wedding anniversary and a 50th birthday. The room was decorated beautifully, as for a wedding, with real attention to detail... and plans for the evenings events for-filled to our own personal specifications. Nothing was too much trouble and everything on the night went according to plan and more! The staff were great, food plentiful and varied with a large bar serving drinks. The evening proving a real success for all. We could not have asked for more. Lovely night , lovely memories. Thank you to Michelle, Lauren and team.

My lady and i went for a ride on my bike for somewhere to eat on sunday and came across this place... we couldn't have been happier... served with a genuine smile from all, well attended to throughout and the yorkshires... well... every yorkshire man will say that his 'Nanna med the best Yorkies' but these run a very close second... loved every mouthful and we rode home happy and well fed :) well worth the visit ;) thank you park view, we will be back :)

If your looking for a good carvery this sunday then look no further, you've found it. we loved it :)we decided to sit outside in the sun and dine which was a great decision. our dinner started with some really good thick stilton and broccoli soup and just got better with a good helping of englands sunday finest, crispy roasties and some perfect yorkshire puds all covered in good thick gravy... finishing the day was a good sized piece of sticky toffee pudding... om nom nom dot com :) plus the excellent service from a very friendly carver lady has made it one of my favourite places for a sunday lunch :)well worth lots of visits :)

It's not fancy, but the food is delicious and great value. Think of the best Sunday roast you had as a kid and that's pretty much what you'll get!

We had our daughters christening celebration at The Park View and it was a huge success. We choose to have the carvery and it was delicious! All of our guests commented how nice the food was. The service from all the staff was exceptional and the room set up was beautifully done. We were kindly allowed to set up banners, buntings and balloons for the occasion. Michelle (Landlady) made sure our day was as we had planned. A big thank you to Michelle, Lauren and all the staff for helping to make sure our daughters christening celebrations were a huge success!

After paying a lot of money we expected to get the service paid for not waiting for carvery eaters before we could start our day. And also the chair covers sorting not just left.. Would not use again..

Organised a work party at Park View last night and what an amazing night it was! Nothing was too much trouble for Michelle who coordinated the event. The room, food, staff and entertainment were first class. Will definitely use again for upcoming events. A good night was had by all judging by the comments from my staff. This was shocking. We booked a 60th birthday party for my gran. The manager did have a wedding on so it was understandable that things would be hectic, however there was very little effort made with us by the manager or the staff. We paid £240 for the Buffett at approx £6 a head for 40 people and the amount of food laid out was the most shocking effort I have ever seen. There was literally 4 trays of sandwiches, ham, cheese, egg mayo and tuna along with sausage rolls, cheese rolls, pork pie and quiche (and some sliced cucumber and tomato). The small amount of food must have cost no more than £40 and that's at a push. I know places want to make a profit like any business but a £200 pound margin on the Buffett alone is ridiculous. We paid £50 to have the room laid out to find there was around 8 plain balloons and table coverings with holes in. We knew someone who could have done it all properly with 60th balloons for £30, yet thought we'd go with the venue, BIG MISTAKE. They must have made another £40 margin from the decorations alone. We told staff to open the Buffett at 9 yet when my nan walked in at 7:15 they opened it up and the food had been eaten by 7:45. They promised to have music on through the night when we booked, then on the night they repeatedly told us to use the jukebox (which charged). After much hassle they finally put it on as all we could hear was the booming music from the wedding in the other room. Drinks were being served in cracked glasses. Drinks were overpriced. Absolutely shocking overall, I honestly don't know how they had the nerve to do it. We all thought they were going to bring food back and everyone has had to leave early to go order food because we are all starving. To say we paid £6 we could of had a carvery at the pub (well almost as it was £6.90) but instead got two quarter sandwiches and a sausage roll!!. I know when we ring and complain they'll point out there was food left, yes there was some cheese sandwiches and quiche that had flies all over it but c'mon anyone with eyes could see the poor effort with the buffet. This venue should be ashamed of themselves for this poor service and I will definitely be warning people off them. Currently looking for venues for my 21st and this will be at the VERY bottom of my list I would rather not have a 21st at all. If you can't handle two events, don't do two events, we would have gone elsewhere!

Just had the best steak EVER.....10oz fillet, with all the sides, fresh veg, salad, homemade chips with a diane sauce. All cooked to perfection. Absolute bargain at £15.95Will definitely book for the next one.

I had the pleasure of spending this Sunday at the Park View whilst visiting friends, and was told prior about their award winning Sunday carvery. After sampling for the first time myself, I cannot rate highly enough! The food was delicious and all the staff so friendly. Even stayed for a few drinks in their sports bar afterwards to round off the perfect Sunday. Will definitely be back.

Had an excellent welcome at the Park View for a celebratory family Sunday lunch. Mum's 82nd, loved the balloons and how the tables were laid out for 20 of us. A few of us have specific requirements regarding food and all were catered for. One of my nephews doesn't usually like carvery, but he went back for seconds, another nephew commented that the cottage cheese was the best he had ever tasted. we had two babies with us and they really enjoyed too, especially the sweets. The baby high chairs were a real boon. All enjoyed the afternoon, great place to eat, great food and brilliant staff. Thank you Trish.

first impressions, secure {cctv} big carpark, with a picturesque view over the fields and a kids play area. on entering a very modern well maintain bar. with john smiths smooth on tap and very nice it was to. we also had such a friendly welcome from the owner and her staff.this is not your every day carvery venue. the food and choices are first class as is the service.. I am particular about what food i eat and where i eat it.plus my wife has food intolerance's such as {gluton, lactose.and sugar free diet. in which the staff were very knowledgeable and promptly served her with gluten free gravy and yorkshire. this was dont even though we should of rang and book the food changes, but it was our first time and didnt know. because normally she goes without those foods. so it was such a surprise to be told she can have them. so ring if you need to change things oh and soup is great thats your starter. and they do more than one type.. what a great place it is,attention to detail and individuality was great. not like most of the other conveyor belt places. now to the food it was cooked to perfection and if you look at the photo,s that are on this site of the serving counters it is better than that. what a great place to sit and have great cooked food. ive not had this quality carvery since before i can remember, the wife and daughter were well impressed and to top it all. the price was very good. if you can find a better cooked and well set out place like this any where around ill be shocked. A hidden gem for delicious food and a wonderful family friendly atmosphere, our 3 daughters ate every scrap of the wonderful Sunday carvery and we were made to feel very welcome indeed.We found The Park View on tripadvisor after looking for somewhere better than a chain 'child friendly' restaurant that have play facilities along with food and decided to give it a try after reading the great reviews.It is a little tricky to find so make sure you have a map or sat nav but we promise it is worth the journey, do not be put off by the exterior, this a sports club style of pub but is fabulous inside.We arrived towards the end of the Sunday service and we were all made to feel most welcome, the menu was described to us by the wonderful chef and host Lauren, the food was super fresh, excellent quality and plentiful for everyone.Lauren also explained that any special requirements can easily be catered for with a little notice, gluten free, vegan, or anything else! The prices are fantastic too and we certainly could not do the same variety for a family of 5 for less than the £28 we paid for 5 meals.Lovely function room overlooking the park and all very clean and tidy, plenty of room for larger families and playground just outside for the more energetic youngsters.The meal itself was delicious, a full carvery with a great selection of veg, roast and mashed potatoes, scrummy yorkshire puds and my personal favourite, mushy peas on the side!! Lots of real thick gravy, all the condiments you could want and a very good cauliflower cheese that is mouthwatering.Our children are 11 / 9 and 7 and it can be challenging to get them all to eat the same meal together but not today! Every scrap was gobbled up and they even found room for some lovely chocolate fudge cake for pud.In short, no negatives at all, every tummy was filled and very relaxed and we will all be returning again very soon. The Park View is definitely on our favourites list and we really recommend you give it a try.

Surprised this place isn't much more busy. Perhaps because it's a little bit out of the way with no passing trade. Many locals might not even know about it. Lovely views over the fields, good food, lovely staff. Definitely worth checking out.

We are turning into regulars. My 85 & 83 year old parents love it. Wide choice of meats (4 today) & veggies in their Sunday Carvery. Not as cramped as in a pub. Lovely view. Friendly staff. Not easy to find if you aren't local - but worth it.

Whilst visiting relatives in the area, we were delighted to accompany our family to the nearby Park View for a Sunday carvery.Firstly we were greeted with a warm welcome from a lovely member of staff called Rico, we recall meeting him whilst he was working at another dining establishment in the area which we had been in before.We were advised that we could have some homemade soup, as a starter for no extra costs, a few of us sampled this course, a mouthwatering thick Tomato and basil soup, full of taste and a great start to what turned out to be a perfect meal.On to the main course, at this point I must also comment on the size of the meals on offer, the Adult plates are enormous. I chose Beef & Turkey from the 3 meats on offer, the Beef was so soft and succulent, cooked to perfection. Also on offer were huge home made Yorkshire puddings and stuffing balls, both equally delicious.Their was also a wide variety of veg on offer, the cauliflower cheese and sprouts deserves special mentions.We sat at the window looking out of the beautiful hills of the nearby villages and towns, it was a lovely afternoon enjoyed by all our party.We really feel that this place is a hidden gem and is a real must to visit, we have visited other eating establishments in Swinton, but this one stands out from the crowd. Thank you to all the staff at the Park View, We came back for the fireworks display which again was outstanding (as were the Pie & Peas) and will hopefully be returning for one of the live music Xmas fayres in December

The Park View is local for us and we go most Sundays for lunch. The staff are friendly, welcoming and its a warm and inviting environment. Theres complimentary soup of the day, a choice of 3 meats and a good selection of vegetables....the gravy is amazing! I would def recommend you give it a try!

I have now been to the park view many times and I would like to say how good each and every time my visit has been..The food is 5* and the staff are all great friendly and lovely people especially the owner! Michele Carr... Will always go now for Sunday dinners n pub food we also attended a wedding there recently and was amazing! Looked stunning how they dressed the venue and the food and do everything was 5 star+ great place defenitly worth a visit

In common with a few previous reviewers, we went on a Groupon deal bought as a present for my wife and myself.The Sunday carvery was excellent, fresh homemade tomato soup for starter, followed by the carvery. I had all three meats on offer, beef, pork and turkey with stuffing and Yorkshire pudding.All the vegetables were fresh, the cauliflower cheese being worth a special mention. There were roast and mashed potatoes, carrots, sprouts, cabbage and mushy peas, a first for me with a carvery! The staff were all friendly and helpful and explained how the system worked. We will definitely try it again for an evening meal.

I just want to take the time to say Thank you again to Michelle for all the hard work you & your staff put into making my 40th birthday an incredible memory making event. :) I had a fantastic time, as did all of my guests. Everything was perfect! Beautiful buffet, how the room was organised and decorated, your staff were friendly & cheerful, the D.J's couldn't have been more helpful. :) The cocktails were great too! Been 3 times in last few weeks and really enjoyed it ... but today's was out of this world!! Had the Sunday carvery with complimentary cream of mushroom soup and everything was delicious. An absolute bargain at £6.95 for 2 courses. Bar staff were pleasant and polite as was the Chef/carver who I heard say she had done the dinner all on her own today. All I can say to that is it was a real credit to her ;)

We were visiting here on a Groupon Deal You must try this three course meal deal. All the staff were very pleasant and attentive making sure we were looked after.in every way, The food was excellent. Home made soup starter a Carvery main, and finishing with a dessert,and coffee, They have a nice bar area with a good selection of drinks , I would ignore all of the negative comments !! some people need to get a life !!We would certainly visit again. without hesitation !!
