As a regular guest prior to COVID and refurbishment, I have been waiting for Pardis to reopen. First things first, the food is just as delicious as before and the atmosphere is just as cosy thanks to the charming owner. Besides some visual uplift, the biggest twist is to the concept. As the owner describes it, the inspiration came from tapas - the menu is very flexible to build many combinations and the portion sizes make it entirely possible to have a great tasting experience without overeating. For me, this is actually 'rightsizing'. The clever serving adds a nice visual experience to the traditional flavours.

The rice is cooked in a unique way and delicious… my kids ordered second portions of the grilled chicken and lamb kebab. The Persian lemon sorbet with rice noodle was something I’d never tried before and was really interesting. Staff were super sweet and its great to have them back in the neighbourhood.

I eat out a lot in London with my family and have never had such bad customer service from the owner of the restaurant. The table was by the door and the restaurant was very cold. This is an Arab restaurant and I felt that these are the only people they want to serve in their restaurant. Worst experience ever.

We attended the restaurant tonight with our family and the service was so shocking that I actually signed up to trip advisor. In no circumstance should anyone take their family there. As soon as we were seated by the door which was drafty and cold we were informed it was very busy and that it would be £15 per head which would include a baby, even though apart from us there was only 1 table occupied. The waitress kept coming up to the children of 18months, 3,8,9years and kept telling them off which ended with 2 of them in tears. As a family we eat out at least 4 times a week and have never been more shocked or dismayed at the service we received.

On a décidé d'aller manger persan ce midi. On repère Pardis.

A cosy restaurant near Edgware Road. For starters we had the hummus, yogurt with mint and cucumber and the third starter was eggplant with yogurt! All three were great and to have them with hot bread was quite appetising. For the main course Lamb kebab Koobideh was divine! And to top it all the buttermilk was outstanding. The Sheesha garden was closed for renovations as this was another relaxing place to have your mint tea. Hope to revisit the place again!

The food was OK, but nothing special, yet very over priced. The staff were not friendly or welcoming. One particularly unfriendly waitress seemed to loom over our table so that we felt uncomfortable and under pressure to order. We were told that we could BYOB, so popped out to buy a cheap £6 bottle of wine which we poured ourselves. When the bill came we'd been charged £10 corkage! There was a set service charge that could not be removed even though our service had been poor. We were not allowed tap water. Is that legal? We paid almost £20 for a few olives and some hummus. It didn't even come with bread and when we asked for some bread we found later that that was added to the bill separately, and twice since the first basket of bread hadn't been large enough to eat all the hummus so we'd had to ask for more. Were we supposed to just eat it with a spoon perhaps? The loo was downstairs and we had to walk through a junk-filled storage area to reach it where the unfriendly waitress was hiding out and glared at us as we came through. Couldn't wait to get out of there. Ended up leaving still hungry and £80 lighter. AVOID

This is a small, family-run Persian restaurant that initially comes across as a great little find.I've now been here several times and have realised that actually the staff (who are a family) are only pretending to be nice. They are actually very rude and stuck-up, which is only made clear when you make a slightly odd request or chase the waiter up for your drink or something. For example, at one point our party of three was queueing to make a card payment upstairs and the staff member (who happened to be the mother of the family) was huffing and puffing at me because I keyed in the wrong pin for my card and there was a queue forming behind us. She was clearly stressed out because their card machine was suffering from a bad connection and she was fed up of waiting- how unbelievably unprofessional! The bottom line is that whilst the family-run nature of this restaurant initially seems like a blessing, over time you come to realise that it is truly to the restaurants detriment as it means that the staff feel like they are above you and lack professionalism. Also - the prices are extortionate.

The positive; the food is nice. It tastes fresh and tasty albeit a little more fatty then the lean meal I was looking to order. I looked forward to it, enjoyed it but the whole meal was detracted by what was to follow. The service here is beyond the rude. They do produce good cuisine and with an introduction of good manners and courteous service... the place would be great. The shisha garden is very pretty, parking convenient and brilliant prestigious location. However, the place is a shambles. The staff look like they're on the brink of tears. The owner is both obnoxious and insultingly rude. I have no idea how she can treat her customers on what borders on contempt. Oh they charge for water, don't have a liquor licence but insist on high corkage fees. Rip off prices for Shisha. Minimum spends. Minimum table time. Minimum order times. It's more complicated than the theory of relativity!! Surely a restaurant that is looking to maximise revenue uses more subtle techniques and pricing to achieve their objective. Works for the rest of London. Please avoid this place... this type of restaurant really needs diners to vote with their pay packet and force improvement. No customer merits this kind of treatment!

This place seems to have got some good reviews so I went along with a friend. Very disappointing. Firstly they had no lamb shank and given a lot of their dishes are based on this thats pretty bad for 8pm on a Thursday night.I've had persian (Iranian) food plenty of times so I know a good one when I see it, I dunno maybe the chef had a fight with this wife that day - but the lamb & split pea stew was terrible ! All tomato paste and no flavour at all ! The portion was fine and good number of meat pieces but totally bland. Now i know persona food is DELICATELY spiced but it does have taste and flavour, not his though. The smoked aubergine was the same lacked chutzpah boring boring boring. And the spinach and kidney bean dish with the crunchy rice was the same. The only good thing was the crunchy fresh naan they gave and that unfortunately was not enough though all th either portions were fine.Honestly, for very similar food with far better taste, go to Wood Green right by the station and eat in any of the greek places there - the food is amazing, you get bread and aubergine free followed by stonkingly tasty food ! What is it with rich areas their restaurants are terrible but everyone thinks they are good ?1 Come with me people let me show you a world of real taste lol...

As you can see from my other reviews we have been chowing down on a lot of Persian food lately.... good times :-) So having had an excellent meal here with friends not too long ago (see my earlier review) we decided to visit Pardis once more and also to order catering for two recent events in the local area. Success on all fronts, I don't just recommend this place for eating in but if you want take out you are also in a good position here. Lets focus on what matters most, the food and what really stands out is the high quality of the food here, you can detect straight away that they are using really good lean meat for example in the Kebab which as you know is the trump card of Persian Cuisine. Sure, there are several other restaurants around where you can pick up a cheaper meal if you wanted too but then you get what you pay for... and you feel it later on too! This is certainly not the case @ Pardis from the first bite you know where the extra money went, it went into top grade ingredients and care in the sourcing and preparation of your meal (not to mention the ambiance and central location btw). This time we ordered various hot and cold mezzas all of which were first class and for mains we had the famous Koobideh kebabs, Chicken Kebabs and the Stew with Okra...... all of which were polished off and then we moved onto scheduling our next Pardis experience! There is a Sisha garden out back which is full of regulars enjoying, Teas, fresh juices, Sisha Snacks etc so you can continue your evening if you like. The restaurant gets very busy upstairs and downstairs and as result its bustling most evenings, so I would recommend going in with your "chillaxed" head on and you will be just fine..... Enjoy!

It seemed like a nice local restaurant. When we asked for wine list , we were told that they have no license for alkohol but we could buy and bring our own wine . So we did : a little bottle of beer and 1 bottle of red wine ( total costs 11 Pounds) They never mentioned anything about corkage but put on the bill 1,50 for the beer and 10 pounds for the wine ! If they warned us about this at the beginning - we would have gone to another restaurant instead of running out to the nearest shop to buy wine and pay double for it . Turkish coffeee was overcharged: 3,50 for a little cup-at the nearby restaurant we had it-better quality!- for 2 pounds/cup. Also disappointing tiny portions of starters ! Service charge of 12,5 % was obligatory apparently Anyway , we feel that we were cheated and certainly will NEVER go near that place again

In keeping with the review from September, we had a very similar experience. It appears that the owner is money orientated and willing to compromise on service as a result. Frankly I have never experienced anything quite like it and was compelled to write a review. We were charged £1 per takeaway request without being informed - a matter of principle as opposed to quibbling over a few pounds. A 12.5% service charge was also added for a party of three! When we spoke to the owner, she was aggressive and frankly very rude. She went as far to tell our group to 'kindly' eat elsewhere because we queried the takeaway and service charge. As a Londoner and a keen Persian food lover, I suggest if you fancy Persian food, go to a classy restaurant such as Alounak or Hafiz. These are more established restaurants that don't treat their customers like trash.

Something that has never happened to me before and is such a basic request that refusing it is rude to say the least.Having eaten we asked fro the bill and were told to get up and pay upstairs (so much for table service) where a tip was automatically added. In conjunction with the earlier terrible review I suspect the apparently parsimonious owner may need to consider sacrificing a few pennies of tap water/spilt card charges to ensure satisfied customers. Until that happens: AVOID.

We were a group of four intending to have lunch at this Persian restaurant. We started by ordering our starters and drinks. One of the party asked for a glass of tap water which was refused. When we asked why we were told that "the boss says so". I asked to speak to the boss, "the boss is the owner" "Well, can I speak to the owner please?" - "The owner is not here". We politely asked again and were still refused and ended up having to purchase a bottle of their mineral water. On hindsight we should have got up and left there and then, but some in the group were pressed for time. We had out starters and decided no to stay there any longer and asked for the bill. We had no intention of leaving a tip - but lo and behold it had already been added to the bill. The staff did not provide a welcoming atmosphere and were in fact quite arrogant in their attitude and didn't seem to care less. Sadly this is the first time that I feel strongly enough to write a negative review about a place I have visited. With so many other restaurants to choose from in London I suggest you give this place a miss".

I am not sure what happened to other reviewers because, in my experience, the service in Pardis was really good and welcoming. Food is ok but not the best Persian restaurant in London, to my taste. However I have to say that portions are huge, which is always a plus. If I have to find a negative, their toilets are so small and inconvenient! Anyways, I may go back for another nice and big meal when I am in the area.

We were a group of 8 friends who visited this restaurant for dinner. We requested a table outside, but were told that it would be a minimum spend of £20 per person for shish and we would have to order 4 shisha's for our group, so we decided to sit inside, where they insisted on a minimum spend of £15 per person. We ordered and were told that our order is too small, so we were forced to order some more food which we didn't necessarily need. After enjoying a relatively nice meal, we got the bill. The owner then proceeded to tell us that she can't accept payment from separate cards and would prefer one person to pay a bill of £150 as she would be charged for every card used. I have never come across a restaurant in london which refused to accept multiple cards. After arguing with her, she rudely and reluctantly accepted and allowed us to split the bill!! She even had the audacity to tell us that 'it's a Saturday night and you're only paying £150!!' Absolutely atrocious service from the owner herself!! You would think a small business would be more accommodating to their customers!!WOuld not recommend this place to anyone! The atmosphere and service is unacceptable!!!

This is a lovely restaurant with excellent Persian food. We have eaten here numerous time and have often taken friends along who have also enjoyed their meals. The quality of food is great and the atmosphere is also very pleasant (well-presented tables etc). There is a shisha garden downstairs which always seems to be busy but we haven't tried it. The staff are also very friendly. Overall, we would definitely recommend this place!

Visited the restaurant tonight (20th March 14) with some friends. Glad to see our table was nicely presented and the staff member was very welcoming. The food was delicious with great size portions and excellent value for money. The member of staff was really patience and waited till the rest of our friends turned up even though it was nearly their kitchen closing time. She was also very helpful in recommending and accommodating our needs. All in all I'd highly recommend the place and will definitely visit again.

I organised for my team at work to have lunch here this week and it was truly amazing. It's a lovely small intimate restuarant, with lots of character and the staff are really friendly. The owner helped us choose our food and it was "to die for!!" I would certainly recommend this restaurant as "the one to beat for authentic cuisine"

Discovered this gem by chance. The starters were excellent, and some new twists on standard aubergine and yoghurt based dishes. The kabobs are very good with the lamb fillets particularly of good quality. Service a bit hit and miss.

The outdoor space where shisha is served is decorated very nicely in the traditional Iranian manor, and nice atmosphere. The food was nice, but I don't think it's value for money- and even though its pricey and u will end up spending money there (they don't serve tap water, and it costs u £3 for the hot water to be refilled in ur tea pot)- they still have a stupid 2 hour seating policy- meaning u can't fully relax and enjoy your evening. This obviously makes it a disadvantage compared to its competitors only 2 mins away- so although I enjoyed the food, I wouldn't return therefor the reasons just given

We went here by chance and how lucky we were that day! The food was great, I loved the "Barg Kabob" it was just AWESOME! I have tried many Persian restaurants in different countries but this one was by far the best, the food was as good and tasty as Iran (if not better :D), HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I hope in the next experiences will be as good as this one :)

The proprietors really do want every last penny from you and never to return. No license for wine so they charge you £6 PER bottle to bring your own Sit in the garden? We agreed to buy shisha. Thereafter a sly POLICY comes out saying 1 shisha (£17) per two people! (no negotiation) - what if you dont fancy a lot of smoke after your meal!?Sit down for a meal followed by a shisha? Well finish in 2 hours (another POLICY) or they ask you to leave! We were, after being forced to buy 4 shisha for 7 people turfed out for taking 2 hours to finish a 3 course meal and smoke a load of pipes we didnt want!A table of 7 drinking own wine, forced to buy 4 shisha and turfed out after 2 hours - that will be £40 a head please!Hillarity - none of us are tight - most of us would have returned often, however forced to buy shisha you cant even smoke as you've been turfed out from 2 hours would be unacceptable to most on Tripadvisor I would have thought. IF you do have the misfortune to attend the premises please don't think that the majority of Iranians behave in the fashion of the proprietors. The proprietors are laughable. Watch their behavior for yourself to entertain yourself with what is actually good food with good waiters.

Upto the time we arrived the amateur waitress who seemed to know very little was trying to take our order, nevertheless she looked stressed and did the most she could. We waited so long that it was upsetting to eat so late. Their was no service, everything was slow, which was a shame as the food was decent. A lady that seemed like the owner of the place was ill-mannered and rude to all the staff and customers around her! We really don't know how she manages this Resturant unless she is a no body and making a bad name for this Pardis place.

Had planned on going to an Italian restaurant, but when we came to Connaught Street, it was closed. So we looked around and Pardis caught our eye.The food is really tasty and so fresh. We had a few starters to share, for main we had lamb and chicken. All very tasty and tender. The only thing we all disliked is that the portions were so large. None of us could finish what was given to us, and it feels like a waste of food. If I go back (which is likely) I would ask for a smaller portion.Service was good and friendly.

Hands down a highlight of our trip, we stumbled upon this restaurant not far from Marble Arch for lunch. I haven't eaten much Persian cuisine, only a few other times in Dubai. The owner was present and it wasn't busy, so she chatted with us about Persian cuisine and its many variations and where much of it comes from geographically in Iran. She recommended this absolutely mind-blowing lamb, nut, raisin and cranberry dish over rice that was one of the most delicious meals we've ever had. Such subtle and unique flavors, mix of sweet and savory. We also ordered a mixed grill that was cooked to perfection. The owner, which name I wish I got, was really very interesting: she told us about Persian cuisine, and her own variations of it. She gave us a free appetizer, yogurt, cucumber and mint with flatbread and this eggplant tomato and egg dip that was very different from Baba Ghannoush. Downstairs, a beautiful garden with arguileh (hookah), perfect for an evening of relaxation if we'd come for dinner. Would absolutely go back and recommend to anyone.

We discovered this little Persian gem very late at night whilst looking for somewhere to eat and were still accommodated. In the back is an unexpectedly lovely little garden with Persian carpets, fairy lights, seating and shisha. The typical Persian food was wonderful and the service very friendly. Not the cheapest of Persian restaurants but worth it anyway as you can bring your own drinks! We were pleased with this discovery and will be going back!

I've been to this restaurant many time by now and every time I get more convinced that it is the best Persian restaurant I have ever been to in London. It is a small restaurant near Edgware Road and in my opinion it serves better food than all middle eastern restaurant in Edgware Road. I have tried half of their menu and I loved all their dishes except one I must say called Tahdeed. The Sultani and The Quzi are not to be missed for the main course and The Mirza Qasimi from the appetizers. If you like shisha, the restaurant has a small garden where you can enjoy your meal and have a shisha, however, it is better to make a reservation if you want to be seated in the garden. In addition, the restaurant staff are so welcoming and the owners are always there to insure that customers are satisfied with their order.

I was starting to lose hope as one by one the Persian restaurants in London were either going under or going downhill fast. Would I ever have a decent Barg again? Fortunately, a friend told me about this place just off the Edgware Road which was a relative new comer. The place has got plenty of seating inside and out, they even have a Sisha garden tucked away at the back of the property. We tried it out for Sunday Lunch. Lovely food and good service too, We had Koobideh, Barg and Khoresht aka the holy trinity. All were tender, flavorful and just generally a cut above similar kebabs we have had all over the place. For those of you who are regulars on the Persian Cuisine Scene (that rhymes!) just go, you will not be disappointed and those who are new to it I would really recommend this place, Persian food done right is a real treat and surprisingly not as well-known as you so many other staples in London. The fresh bread and mezzas at the start are also beautifully spun - Good Job Pardis!

Takeaway with a few tables. Mains are 10 with or without rice (less curry if getting rice). Dal (thick chana/chickpeas) was 7. Steamed basmati was 3.5 and PERFECTLY cooked. Nan homemade but not in a tandoor so lower temp meant a little stodgy. Tasty food (tikka masala / lamb and aubergines / dal / nan / rice /no drinks (a no for tap water)).
