Almost an year ago, I used to dine at this place almost every week whereas now I have stopped eating at this unhygienic place. I reckon that the owner have become too much greedy due to which he has hired non-professional Polish or Romanian chefs who have no clue about indian/Pakistani food due to which they literally cook what everyone of us get rid off from our bodies during our mornings’ times. For example, Chicken Karahi has now become chicken mince which tastes YUCK. Biryani has low quality rice and always cooked in advance almost a month ago and then served after its microwaved.

My last experience of this restaurant was mediocre but decided to give it another chance as it’s conveniently placed near my work. I ordered from pre theatre menu with an extra side. Chef has clearly changed over the past few months as the Sag gosht had no discernible spinach and only a smattering of small chunks of tough lamb. I noticed the side dish was stone cold after plating up so sent everything back. What came back was just the remainder of my food with a fresh rice and bread, and I can only assume the rest went into the bin.Complained and got a small discount but my dinner time was ruined. The waiting staff did their best but I feel that the kitchen treated myself as the customer with utter contempt. As a fairly frequent visitor in the past I’m extremely dissatisfied and will never go back again.

I'm not generally terribly critical of the eateries that I've visited. However, this one 'takes the biscuit'.Noticed that the menu has a decent looking selection of lamb based dishes, so thought that i'd give the restaurant a try. Seated quite quickly and a lamb karahi ordered. So far, so good.My drinks order was brought to the table along with the news that lamb karahi was not available. After enquiring about alternative lamb based dishes, I was asked if I might prefer chicken instead. I'm sorry, the menu lists around 7 dishes with lamb. Not actually having any of these available should have been known to all staff and advised when I placed my order.Rather than re-order, I opted to leave.I won't be back.

My sister chose this restaurant for her birthday celebration. I had heard good things about it in the past and obviously several of the party had been to the branches in Pakistan. We were a table of 12 and I felt the food was of decent quality and the menu was just enough to allow the mix of options we needed for young and old. The service was really impressive considering we had a lot of requests and even when we weren't quite happy with something the staff were happy to rectify. Having seen some of the other reviews on here I think people are being slightly unfair. I saw some reviews on here about portion sizes, I think those reviewing must have been American because I thought the portions were really generous! I wouldn't tout this as the best Pakistani restaurant in London but it's a really good find and I will be visiting again.A special thanks to AJ who was really accommodating and made sure the restaurant made a big deal about her birthday!

I have visited this restaurant on several occasions and on the whole the food is fairly good. One thing to be aware of is that they never seem to hand out the pre-theatre without being asked. I'd also say that the food is quite overpriced if ordering from the a la carte menu without a voucher or discount of some kind.I also agree with many of the other reviews that service varies from adequate to quite poor. They could certainly be more attentive and it's sometimes difficult to catch their eye.

We visited this restaurant as we had several buy one get one free offers that were redeemable at this restaurant. The buy one get one free offers were valid on main dishes, as it states on the voucher. As the voucher's terms and conditions read, I presented the vouchers upon requesting the bill. When I told them that I would like to use the vouchers, roughly 5 waiters and waitresses gathered around me, telling me "No. We cannot accept your voucher as you should have presented them before ordering the food". After finding the terms and conditions of the voucher, and telling them and showing them that it states that the vouchers should be presented upon requesting the bill, they told me "The vouchers cannot be redeemed on burgers", when we ordered burgers. I didn't give up on using the vouchers, and started calling the vouchers' company, the restaurant management told me that they will only the offers only this one time. I mean. Seriously? Don't advertise your restaurant on vouchers if you're not professional enough to accept them, and know how the system works. Apart from that, it was extremely expensive, and the burgers weren't even good. Inside the burgers they put sauce, when I requested it without sauce. When eating the burger, all I see inside the burger was onions inside the patty. Why not mention that your burger patties are made with onions inside? What if I were allergic to onions?! Terrible service. Also. When I paid, they didn't even say a single "thank you". Not a good way to treat tourists! Definitely won't be back at this restaurant again. NEVER AGAIN! Stay away.

This restaurant near Leicester Sq was recently reviewed as one of London's top 10 restaurants, and after eating there we can see why. Every dish we ordered was deliciously flavoured, with the spices just right to bring out the texture. The lamb chops were outstanding, as was the Acahari Baigan (egg plant with pickles). The Mulligatawny soup was also excellent. For dessert, we shared the two types of kulfi (both very good) and the kher (also good). The grills are reasonably authentic in this restaurant with the flavours that are expected when ordering such meat dishes. The curry was disappointing as the lamb karahi was not spicy, and tasted like a tomato-based stew. The naan was light but the portions were very small. We left with our hunger mildly satisfied and agreed we'd return only if we were in a bind and had no other food options in the area. I was in London and thought I could get some good Indian food. Found this restaurant just around the corner from my hotel. My experience did not start well as they got my order wrong. I ordered a soup and butter chicken. The waiter came in with the butter chicken first and when I said I ordered soup, he said ok. start with the butter chicken. i was really hungry so i finished it fast and then came my soup. The butter Chicken was good, the naan bread was a bit boring and when I got the soup it was not really good. All in all I was not thrilled. When I asked for the bill they already added a 12,5 % tip which I would not have given due to the mix up in the order taken. So I would try to find something else, next time in London.

Spur of the moment decision to grab a meal here. Staff seemed nice and attentive throughout our meal and we didn't have to wait too long for the food. But the food was too spicy for three out of the four of us - we had spoken to the manager when we ordered about the level of spiciness and he said all the dishes were medium spicy with no offer to tone it down a bit for us or recommend other less spicy dishes, which is what has happened for us in all the other indian restaurants we've visited. So it was disappointing. I forced the food down with the help of a bowl of yoghurt stuff and my belly is still complaining. It also seemed expensive, 2 starters, 4 poppadum, 4 mains 2 rice and a round of drinks (2 of these were soft drinks) and the bill came out at £96. I guess I'm not used to London prices but it seemed a lot.

As someone who enjoys the cuisine of many different countries, I always enjoy the opportunity to visit different restaurants. My absolute favourite cuisine is Indian, and I recently visited this establishment, which is slightly hidden away, yet close enough to Leicester Square to be within easy reach of it.Before covering the food, I must mention drinks - and a particular recommendation of mine has to be a truly delicious traditional Indian lemonade called "shikanjbeen" - freshly prepared, but well worth the wait! It can be served either sweetened or salty, but whichever you choose will be sure to satisfy! The food is also freshly prepared to order - which I personally find extremely reassuring - and the menu is extremely varied with dishes to suit all tastes. On this visit, we started with vegetable pakoras, followed by a small selection of main courses featuring different meats, Paneer (Indian cheese) and roti bread - every dish was served piping hot and all were absolutely delicious with exactly the right amount of spice so that each individual flavour could be savoured. Of particular note on this visit was the Paneer tikka, which was easily the best I've had anywhere - perfectly spiced and a real treat for the taste buds.We also found the waiting staff to be generally extremely friendly, with two or three of them more than willing to go the extra mile to ensure an extremely pleasant dining experience. The manager himself was also present on this visit, and we found him to be an extremely personable and thoroughly engaging gentleman who takes great pride in his restaurant, his staff, and particularly in the quality of the food and drinks which are served, whilst also taking a massive amount of care to ensure that his customers are always listened to and well catered for.I found the prices to be very reasonable for such a prime location, and this combined with the quality of the food and attention to detail given by the staff means that it's assured to become a regular dining destination for me for quite some time. Definitely a hidden gem, but one which is well worth searching for!!!

Love going to the theatre in London, love eating out beforehand...but what I want is a relatively quick, moderately priced meal in a good, convenient location where I am confident I will get to the theatre in time. This ticks all the boxes. It's location is perfect for theatres in Leicester Square and the bottom end of Shaftesbury Avenue. It was quiet, even on a Friday night, it was steps away from our destination, the staff were super, the wine well priced and the food was tasty. What's not to like?

We were walking in search of a restaurant at dinnertime. The mesmerizing smells of curries in the air when we were walking down Orange Street. We had to come closer and check out the menu. From that distance there was no turning back.We were there around 7:30 pm, and the restaurant was half full. Service was swift, cheerful and helpful. The restaurant we were told served food akin to the Pakistani and Bengali and India. We ordered breads ( pratas and naans) and rice to go with our array of curries. We ordered a prawn curry and 2 chicken curries. ALL were superb! The curries were reminiscent of a very high end Kashmiri ( Northern Indian) restaurant. I didn't know there was such a thing as Indian wine so I ordered a white. That was the only not so wonderful thing I had that night. They switched it out for an Italian white, which was fine we would like to thank The Manager Mr AJYwho was more than happy to go an extra mile and change it for us.We kept saying we wanted to return as there were soooo many other things we wanted to try. We ran out of time - as is always the case in London. We will be back though as the hotel we always stay at is a few minutes away on foot. We truly recommend you try this place.Visited February 2017

My daughter was introduced to this restaurant by her friend who is from Pakistan. The food was very good. The service was ok. Unfortunately, they ran out of the dessert we ordered and it was still early, 7 PM. I would go again.

We went there for lunch, not being all too hungry. Great service, friendly waiters. We ordered the chicken club sandwich and a chicken tikka burger. Both came with fries, a (too) small side of veggies and some coleslaw which was very heavy on the mayo. Burger only had deliciously spiced chicken but no veggies and very little sauce which made it rather dry, same for the club sandwich (egg-chicken-tomato, nothing else). All in all, go there for the Pakistani food which looked amazing, don't bother ordering a burger there!

My husband and I came for dinner. We stayed for two hours enjoying the atmosphere, service and food. Everyone working was incredibly accommodating and attentive. THE FOOD. Wow. Everything we had was delicious. The price was more expensive than places on Brick Lane, but the price for the location was excellent.

Expensive for what you get. Food quality ok, bit on salty side. My local take away does better value and better quality food.

We went here on 30/01 for a pre theatre meal and although arriving slightly later than our booking we were sat without fuss.Very friendly, relaxed service and happy to bring our starters with our mains as we unfortunately had to rush our meal.We had the chilli prawn starter which was deliciously hot and spicy, two portions of the prawn shaslik which arrived sizzling on it's serving platters - delicate flavours and cooked to perfection. The cucumber and onion side salad was surprisingly large considering it's price and the garlic naan was divine. The gentleman who I assume was the manager made us feel like d friends rather than first time visitors and I can't wait to go back and enjoy a leisurely meal.Might seem a little pricey for an Indian but the quality of the food is well worth it and knowing the area I can say it's competitively priced and miles ahead of most restaurants around Leicester square.

Booked here after reading previous reviews, great location although currently slightly hidden due to construction work but it's worth looking for! Delicious food and friendly staff!

Went there for a fast lunch after a visit to the National Gallery. Location is great, tucked away behind the gallery and this makes it a bit quieter than other places around.Service was prompt and very friendly, but the real surprise was the food. Tried only the lamb tikka, but it was superb, with melt in your mouth lamb, spicy but just so.Nice nan and lassi. Sorry I didn't get to try other dishes.

Eaten here a few times and never been disappointed with the quality of the food. The offers available through Open Table make the overall cost extremy good value. In short this is a cut above most curry houses.

Tasty food in Leicester SquareBusy and bustling, we appreciated their moving us to a table that would accommodate our group better without asking. The grilled lamb chopped were heavenly. We also enjoyed the pilau rice, delicious naan and several curry dishes. It was on a bit expensive side but, none the less, very very tasty.

Takeaway with a few tables. Mains are 10 with or without rice (less curry if getting rice). Dal (thick chana/chickpeas) was 7. Steamed basmati was 3.5 and PERFECTLY cooked. Nan homemade but not in a tandoor so lower temp meant a little stodgy. Tasty food (tikka masala / lamb and aubergines / dal / nan / rice /no drinks (a no for tap water)).

MASALA ZONE Soho is a complete RIP OFF!!! Only go there to waste your money. MASALA ZONE is a complete RIPOFF!! Still waiting for a response. Further to my earlier review, Masala Zone were quick to respond , requesting for more information and the receipt. I provided all the details straight away and they have completely ignored everything. Have not even bothered to acknowledge any thing. What a SHABBY way of treating their diners!! I recently went to Masala zone to celebrate my daughter's birthday, however it was a disappointing experience. The portions including the starters were horrendously small! The Punjabi samosa chaat was just a mini squashed samosa with a teaspoon of chutney and a teaspoon of yogurt which was hardly enough to even taste. All I tasted was 2 pieces of frozen potato in the samosa. The main dish of butter chicken came with only 5 pieces of chicken covered with sauce and the naan breads were tough and chewy all very pricy. The Hyderabad vegetable biryani had only half a slice of aubergine and half a boiled potato decorated with 3 rose petals. That is not a biryani ever worth having. The so called spiced guava juice was straight out of a carton with no hint of spice whatsoever. The lighting at the rear of the dining hall could be somewhat brighter. The toilets lacked toilet rolls and barely any liquid soap in the dispensers. It was certainly not worth the money that we spent!!
