A very decent Indian restaurant with attentive staff and great food. Prices for food were very reasonable but the drinks were expensive even by London prices. Worth a visit.

Biryani was delicious, a bit spicy and greasy, loved the ambience, considering the restaurant is in the heart of London, prices are a bit high but compared with Dishoom, very competitive, I would recommend this restaurant, opening at 11am on weekends is good

Second visit! Amazing experience, our waitress Akhila was so lovely and made our evening with adorable chats. Was here with family friends in London for the first time and I decided this was the place to bring them - the restaurant also let us chat endlessly, though it is busy at dinner. The heating is always cranked up btw. Food was such a culinary experience - all plated so beautifully, it makes all the difference. Really enjoyed the Vada Pao (must try) & Goa Fish Curry!! The Lamb Sheesh was amazing too.

The food is a nice surprise. Refined, quite light and not too oily. But the wines are way too expensive for the quality, especially since they are served hot for glasses of red wine. When the price of a drink in a restaurant is significantly more expensive than the price of a bottle in stores, there is a problem!

Very bad restaurant, very very expensive, £5 for small Nan bread! All dishes are small and very expensive. Also food is very spicy and they refuse to reduce the chilly on it! === A very bad restaurant and I do not recommend it at all. The prices are greatly exaggerated, a small naan bread is 5 pounds sterling! The dishes are small and not enough for a person, and the food is very spicy and they refuse to reduce the pepper according to the person’s request..

Delicious Food & Generous Portions Masala Zone in Soho delivered a fantastic dining experience! The food was great—flavorful, well-prepared, and truly satisfying. I loved that I felt welcomed enough to eat with my hands, which made the experience even more authentic. This is a well-known Indian restaurant in London with several branches. I went to the one in Soho. The food was lovely, but I do wish they included a chapati or two—or some other bread—with the Chicken menu. It’s tradition, after all 😉, and it did feel like something was missing. Big thanks to Akhila for recommending this special dessert—it was spot on!🤝🏼 Pistachio ice cream with Indian spices. I advise you to try it if you want something sweet from them. As for food, try any of the well-known Indian dishes, but neither rice nor bread comes with the food! Everything you ask for must be extra 🤷🏻♀️

The Grazing Small plates were delicious. Ordered Lucknow Dahi Puri, Delhi Samosa chaat, Madras chicken 65 & Chili garlic desi potato chips. The mains however was not the best. No flavor to the food. We ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh Thali.. which was bland.. lamb was undercooked would not order that again. Chicken Biriyani was too dry.. chicken pieces had a bit of flavor to them but the rice felt as though it was served with color added just for appearance. Butter chicken had a smoky flavor to the chicken pieces that left an unpleasant taste.

Taking into consideration the price, then this place is not living up to the expectations. It's a really nice atmosphere and beautiful dining place, but the food is small and over priced. We were 3 persons and ordered the bare minimum, spending 120 pounds...! A garlic naan is 5 pounds! A cup of white basmati rice for 1 person as well 5 pounds! The curries were so small that we had to count (or separate in pieces) the meat within the curry, and 1 of those small curries is 20 pounds! 2 of us got a tiny ice-cream dessert. This seems to be a place purely for tourists.

I originally went to Masala Covered Garden but had to change my location to Masala Soho due to an unfortunate interaction with a staff member at the first restaurant. The experience there was unpleasant as the staff member was disrespectful and made us feel unwelcome, even refusing to let us stay at our table. Thankfully, things turned around at Masala Soho. We booked for 10 people for late October 2024 and overall enjoyed the food; found it tasty and reasonably priced. It's very busy, so it's kind of hard to hear each other around a round table. The service was mixed and a little confused in places. BUT I was horrified to realise that it took Masala Zone exactly two months from the booking to repay the £150 group booking deposit. We dined on the 24th October, and the funds were only returned on 23rd December. Despite us completing the booking and paying in full on the evening. This is a wholly unacceptable procedure, I don't mind paying reasonable deposits, but holding onto the funds for two months beyond the completing of the booking is disgusting.

Absolutely Terrifying Experience – AVIOD AT ALL COSTS!! I rarely write reviews, but after my horrendous experience at Masala Zone Soho, I felt compelled to warn others. My family and I were visiting London and decided to dine at this so-called restaurant. We were excited about the experience, but what transpired was nothing short of a nightmare. After finishing our meal, which was mediocre at best, we were absolutely horrified to see multiple RATS scurrying across the walls and floors of the restaurant. Yes, you read that right – RATS! I managed to capture this on video, which I’m sure the management is hoping to forget. This was beyond unacceptable, and quite frankly, I’ve never been so disgusted in my life. When I flagged down the manager to express my shock and disgust, he was completely dismissive. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the health hazards, no sense of urgency – just an attitude that seemed like "Oh well, deal with it." To make matters worse, they still had the audacity to bring us the bill to pay for the meal! This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable. A restaurant is supposed to provide a safe, clean environment, and what we encountered was a disgrace. I wouldn’t trust this place to feed anyone, let alone my family. If you value your health, do NOT step foot in this place. The lack of accountability and basic customer care is astonishing. I truly hope the owners take this seriously and do something about the state of their establishment. A public apology and refund are the very least they owe us. Until then, I strongly advise anyone considering this place to save themselves the trouble – and the risk – and look elsewhere.

My wife and I dined here today (21.12.24) and had much higher expectations based on the positive reviews. We ordered a butter chicken thali and ragon josh curry. Much to our disappointment, the curries were bland, lacking in flavour and the portion sizes were very small. Given the steep prices I was expecting more for my money. The only positive thing I would say is that the food came reasonably fast and the waiting staff were helpful. There are much better options in London for authentic Indian food for a fraction of the cost and I suggest to anyone who is thinking about eating here to consider other places for a genuinely better experience. The management are reluctant to respond to any complaints or even bother to reply. They try their best to portray Masala Zone as a Michelin starred restaurant when it is just a normal street eaterie. It needs to be avoided as there are plenty of better places in the vicinity. MASALA ZONE Soho is a complete RIP OFF!!! Only go there to waste your money. MASALA ZONE is a complete RIPOFF!! Still waiting for a response. Further to my earlier review, Masala Zone were quick to respond , requesting for more information and the receipt. I provided all the details straight away and they have completely ignored everything. Have not even bothered to acknowledge any thing. What a SHABBY way of treating their diners!! I recently went to Masala zone to celebrate my daughter's birthday, however it was a disappointing experience. The portions including the starters were horrendously small! The Punjabi samosa chaat was just a mini squashed samosa with a teaspoon of chutney and a teaspoon of yogurt which was hardly enough to even taste. All I tasted was 2 pieces of frozen potato in the samosa. The main dish of butter chicken came with only 5 pieces of chicken covered with sauce and the naan breads were tough and chewy all very pricy. The Hyderabad vegetable biryani had only half a slice of aubergine and half a boiled potato decorated with 3 rose petals. That is not a biryani ever worth having. The so called spiced guava juice was straight out of a carton with no hint of spice whatsoever. The lighting at the rear of the dining hall could be somewhat brighter. The toilets lacked toilet rolls and barely any liquid soap in the dispensers. It was certainly not worth the money that we spent!!
