We had the seafood pancake, the crispy chicken, the thebokki and the dumplings and shared between the two of us. Oh dear where do I start? We were greeted by the miserable waitress who could not be bothered smile all evening. The dumpling were all right but not very flavourful. The thebokki lol were in a sauce which also did not have any glavour or depth whatsoever.. It was just hot. We can totally do hot. But hot and bland does not make any sense! The crispy chicken was the soggy chicken: no crispy bits in sight! And finally the seafood pancake was raw in the middle and claggy. When main dishes are £11.50 in a dingy area, then you get bad food... then you go to the bathroom which looks like it has not been cleaned since before covid... Jeez we were massively disappointed

Authentic Korean in Lewisham with minimalist but cool decor. Had seafood pancake to start (plenty for sharing) followed by pork bibimbap and beef with glass noodles. Good spot for casual low key dining.

No estoy muy seguro de por qué tan alta calificación. He estado en casi todos los restaurantes de Londres. La comida es normal: la carne está marinada y no es barata teniendo en cuenta la ubicación. No me impresionó.

Delicious authentic Korean food. Not too pricey and the staff are always very amenable and warm. Definitely worth a visit.

Warm welcome. Food plentiful, reasonable and not expensive, but a bit bland. Have had better Korean in the UK.

Some of the meals were hit or miss, we enjoyed the seafood pancake and a couple of chicken dishes, not so the rib beef which was over cooked. However our first experience has kept us intrigued and will come back to try some more dishes. Limited covers but super friendly staff.

I've bought take away from here a few times and they never disappoint. I know there's a few comments saying they're too expensive but I disagree - especially as, a) it's London zone 2 b)good quality ingredients cost money. Though a simple menu, the food is great and its always tasty. I'd recommend for sure!

Behind the steamed glass a Korean experience is hidden! Don't hesitate to enter this restaurant. Helpful and friendly staff, simple and delicious tastes. The prices were ok. I ordered a menu for 9 pounds that included rice. Thank you for your extra care, when you realised its my first time I try Korean food!

Came back from Korea and was craving Bibimbap and Gochujang so bad. Have seen this restaurant on the bus many times and been wondering about it. Tiny place and very honestly run. The food was as good and sometimes better than any other Korean place I've eaten at in London. Dumpling and kimchi pancake were great. Bibimbap and fried chicken were good, could of been better. Was a great experience though and will go back.

Spent an interesting evening in this pleasing recent addition to our dining options in south east London. Minimalist menu and wine list but delicious and original food. There was a dish which was baked in a marble like receptacle (very hot) with baked rice in the bottom and a selection of meat and vegetables on top. I had never seen or tasted anything like it. My stir fried beef dish was a bit more classical. The pumpkin fritters which I had to start were also home made delicious and original. The only think they need to improve on is their wine service. Their white wine (and beer) needs to be kept in the fridge and served cold, when we pointed this out the waitress went to the shop next door to buy some ice which was impressive. Would definitely revisit and I can walk home

Very slow service. Waited 1 hour (no exaggeration) for our food to come from sitting down. The table next to us waited even longer - the girls almost walked out at several points in the evening as they waited 40, 50 60 and 70 minutes for their food. Then the food came. The seafood pancake was nice (very crispy!) but had a hefty price tag of £10.90. The other dishes ordered were spicy squid stir fry and kan-poong-gi (sweet chilli fried chicken). These were rather disappointing. The chicken didn't taste like it should and was mostly batter, smothered in what seemed like sweet and sour sauce - not at all authentic nor very tasty. The squid stir fry was satisfyingly spicy but just seemed like defrosted squid from a Chinese supermarket in gochujang sauce plus sugar - not very sophisticated. We had some overpriced beer and soju (£11+ soju and c.£4 asahi / hite) and the total bill came to £56 for some distinctly average food. It was the kind of stuff I'd be cooking for friends in uni back when I was 18. Due to the hefty price tag we couldn't leave any tips for the young waitress, who was the only positive part of the evening. She was working very hard to service around 25 people by herself, even popping into the kitchen for 5 minute stretches (perhaps to help the cook who was clearly out of their depth back there). I'd probably be ok paying half of what I did for what I got, but this was the worst Korean restaurant I've ever been to - London and abroad. The food wasn't horrendous and the place was clean but the price and speed just ruins it for me. If you're desperate for a kimchi-chigae and you're in New Cross, maybe pop down and take the hit on your wallet. But I'd rather not. It's a shame as I love supporting local, family businesses, but this place is hopelessly out of depth as it is. Hoping this is taken as constructive criticism by the restaurant and others save their hard-earned pounds!

It is a simple/minimalist restaurant with a very polite service. I'm very supportive of small business with low budgets (special in London where the micro economics is reverted and incredible self damaging) because they focus on essential. They put a lot of effort in giving you the best, if they know they can't give you an menu option within their standards they will tell you, because they want to give you the best they can and not mislead you. They spend time talking and listen to you, they are people and want to bond and connect. Etchu (I'm sure I'm misspelling her name and for that I am sorry) is the manager and her simplicity, kindness, humbleness and caring deserves more than a good word of recommendation. I wish Parahodu great success :) Please, give it a try!

I really enjoy this little restaurant: fantastic food and a very friendly service. I strongly recommend the tofu bibimbap; the sauce that goes with it is outstanding. On our first visit, they pointed out the vegetarian options for us and even offered to adjust some other dishes to be meat free.

Wow. Taste buds revived. AMAZING food. Green curry like I have never had before, yet it's a favourite I choose often. Try the Matoom platter, everything delicately delicious. The go-to place for vegan and gluten-free. Don't be fooled by the unassuming front. The space is also comfortable, and Van's service is warm and super friendly. Plus, as there is no booze licence, you can choose a bottle from Sainsbury's across the road, and save on the price of wine. This is the best value for money I have come across in years.

The food was delicious. There were a lot of issues with our service / experience. I feel this was caused by the high volume of takeaways they serve and that these are prioritised over in-house customers (this is how we felt anyway). I will be back to try again as the food really was tasty, so my score may change, but will probably go at an off-peak time.
