Papa John's Pizza in Kingston upon Hull, City of

Placed an order quite late at night and staff stayed past their shift to ensure it was collected. Stellar service and arguably my favourite pizza too.

Great pizza as always and dipping sauces are better than anywhere especially the special garlic and the staff are really friendly guys

Excellent service; even after a failed delivery, the management resolved the order quickly.

Friendly staff and food is always great

Since new management took over this year, it has gone from a 2 star to a 5 star takeaway. Everybody there is very friendly and definitely show care as they have never made a single error with my orders. The collection deals and reward points on the app make the prices fairly reasonable considering the higher quality of the food compared to other takeaways. My only criticisms with the food are that you can’t change more than 3 toppings on pizzas and that the Brownie/giant cookie although I still order one of them every time, it is more often than not a bit overdone and not soft and gooey inside. When ordering in app for collection the tracker will sometimes show ready to collect 10-15 mins before it actually is ready, otherwise this store is pretty much the perfect pizza place and I personally put them above all the big names in hull like Pizza Hut, Dominos and Dope dough.

Lovely food ,I rang regarding something I wanted to order,,which icould not find online,this had been taking off the menu,but they still had stock so made some for me for delivery,,good customer service,very friendly and helpful would recommend

Fast preparation and friendly staff, Pizza was great although they forgot out BBQ sauce on top of our BBQ pizza somehow... Still, nice service and still enjoyable.

I came to hull from central london .i just listen about the papa johns from my friend . i tried the pizza .it was awesome in taste and i like the food and the staff was very friendly and i like the quick service . i wish whoever lives near or come must should tries the tasty food of papa johns

I love their Pizzas a lot now. They are good people, as always i am a late commer at shop before the closing. I am a fan of spicy thing and a lover of Chiken patija 😋. The way i have told he makes very perfectly. Thanks for feeding our hungry soul the way i asked i got the perfection.

During my recent visit to the store, I was impressed by the great customer service. The quality of the pizza was excellent, and the store itself was very well-maintained. I want to commend the female manager for her courteous and polite demeanor towards the customers. I highly recommend this store to others based on my positive experience with the manager and the overall service.

VEGANS/VEGETARIANS BEWARE!! I've found chicken on my vegan pizza. This is where I take legal action. I still have the pizza in the box with my vegan options listed on the sticker. I've eaten two thirds of it so it's likely I've been eating chicken without realising and I feel so sick. I really hope I don't get really ill 😞 i will take it in to trading standards in the morning and then go seek some advice on taking them to small claims or something. Might even contact hull live. I'm sure they'll be interested. Especially if I get really ill. Right now my stomach feels awful. Quite worried tbh

I order in store new pizza cypriot and hallomise fries both of very tasty food delicious, hot food and new staff all very excellent service.

Order tracker showed food prepared, cooked and being cut within 22 minutes of ordering - and 20 minutes later delivery turns up stone cold! Management just keep saying they're really busy and short on drivers so "you'll have to wait 10 more minutes".... What a joke - food refused (I'm not eating cold soggy food) and I'm now £40 down! Formal complaint raised with head office, so hopefully I'll get a refund, otherwise I'll pop in soon when they're busy and raise my issues directly with the branch manager? I'll never order from here again, uninstalling the app now.

It's been a while since I ordered from papas Holderness road. It shut down for a while and reopened again - I believe under new management? Previously we used to get food delivered within 30 mins of ordering as we live a mile away. Tonight I ordered at 5.55 and got a notification on the app at 6.17 that it was being cut and ready to go out for delivery..... At 6.55 I rang to see where my food was as the app hadn't updated, and an angry sounding foreign bloke answered and told me yeah I've only got one driver and we're busy so it'll be 10 minutes late! Then put the phone down, no apology. I rang again at 7.15 to ask again, and another more desperate and apologetic foreign guy told me 10 more minutes.... told him I'd already heard that 20 mins ago, so cancel the order and I'll go elsewhere! App still says ready to go for delivery BTW. I'll be raising a chargeback with my bank and never using pappas again!

Don't bother ,go to Dominoes instead, unprofessional staff , order tracker said pizza was delivered but was still traveling around Hull on a bike getting cold

Stone cold when eventually turned up. Low quality. Ordered the Philly cheese steak. Was worse than the free cheesy garlic bread you get from any other takeaway. Dry and hardly any cheese. Would never use these again wish I had stuck to my local favourite takeaway instead of giving these a chance. Person on the phone was rude when calling due to being late followed by sub standard food at a premium. Disgrace

Got message and we called the site which said they wont accpet offer which i received over txt . Decided to pop in and staff found to be unawre of anything like that offer. Asked for manager and been told that there isn't one in the shop ended up in no food today and probably a place to be named and shamed DO NOT GO THERE , they only upset kids . Had to take kids elsewhere

Absolute joke left with no pizza after supposedly having it ready for 18.45 they gave it someone else st 1915 and expected me to wait. Missed half the match too. Absolute idiots do not go here !

This place has gone from the best pizza place to something of a joke! No half and half pizzas now and prices almost double what they are. The product now has less cheese than a cheap pizza and the taste is not what it was. I’m not buying here any more it’s shocking !

The place told me they were behind because of a delivery problem So the delivery took a bit longer then advertised When I did receive the order the box was slightly moist as if its been sat on the side waiting for the driver At best their was a slight heat to the pizza and I mean slight it was more or less stone cold Called up the restaurant to be told that they are contacting their manager and will send me a replacement and I asked them would you like it back or shall I throw the pizza in the bin they told me i can do either thing as I'll get a replacement regardless so I binned it I waited a further 1 hour called them back to be told the manager said no and that the just eat driver said it came piping hot with steam coming out of it This wasn't the case at all the box was flimsy you could tell by looking at it that it's been sat there for sometime plus I have a doorbell camera which also proves their wasn't any steam at all I didn't appreciate the driver telling the lie I have just got off the phone with a manager who told me they will not be replacing the order because I have binned it I explained that the staff member told me I could do either bin or keep it so its the staff members problem not mine i would understand if i had eaten half the pizza but i haven't i even offered to get it all out the bin and give it back the staff need more training on situations like this as the staff member could of advised me to not bin it and i would of happily waited for the replacement and gave it back Not going to be ordering from here ever again ive always ordered with these guys wont be doing it anymore update: head office gave me a free xxl to say sorry my plan was to use the free xxl to make up for what happened and never use papa johns again the order went through but it was under the minimum order value so they cancelled it i called up asking what happened the lady i spoke to refused to do the order even if i re order above the min order value she still argued with me i stated that im recording the phone call to show to head office at that point the lady i spoke to changed her attitude and became quite angry towards me and stated i cant record the phone call if she did some easy google searches she would find that i actually can after she found out i was recording she then stated she would have to ask her manager if they will accept the code considering whats been happening he was clearly going to say no but its strange that she offered to ask the manager when i was recording i didint appreciate this at all i have sent the video to head office i tried ordering to the other papa johns in hull but once i ordered i noticed it forces it to the holderness road store a little bit awkward but they accepted the order and delivered it the pizza came hot but it was shoved to one side like its been sat sideways in the car but never mind the topping were intact and it was hot thats all i was bothered about everything else was fine but still todays phone call has solidified my decision to not go back

Pizza crust too dry and hard. Very little topping, air bubbles in the dough. I would definitely not recommend

Portions are way outsized = Unnecessary Food waste. Scampi was overcooked, each scampi was like mini briquettes. My partners fish seemed okay, the chips were lukewarm at best. Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. The ladies toilet was out of order, use the disabled toilet a note said, the disabled was filthy, toilet seat was stained, no loo paper and the hand basin looked as though it had never been cleaned in a month of Sundays. The door into the main toilet area was propped open with a stack of high chairs, which everyone would have to negotiate they way around and [possibly touch. I had just been discharged from hospital, and I can honestly say I wish I had eaten there rather than here.

Working away from home I got a deliveroo delivery and it was outstanding. In comparison to the previous days pizza hut experience this was 1st class, 20% cheaper and far better quality. This chain had it right and the meat feast pizza was one of the best I'd ever had. Well done will be back for sure.

waited over 1.30 hours for 2 pizzas 1 garlic bread and chicken bites .all lukewarm rang the holderness rd shop answer 1 got was we can replace but it will take over a hour.Told them to forget it im hungry now we order up to 4 times a month . this isn't the first time they have ruined our order so in future we will go somewhere else.

I placed this order 21.8.21 We've used this branch of Papa John's for a considerable time, we can be described as loyal with a monthly order. This order arrived late and tepid, of which I left feedback on the survey requested of me. 22.8.21 upon attempting to reheat The Works pizza we found an incredibly sharp piece of plastic (looks a lot like the top of a plastic wrapper) baked within the pizza. Please see pics attached. Rung store immediately on 22.8.21 and upon asking for a Manager was told I'd get a call back. Tonight, 24.8.21 I rung back as heard nothing. Greeted by The Manager, Lo. Explained what I found, sent pics over to him by email, was left distraught by his reaction. Token gesture made, accompanied by an overwhelmingly feeling that I'd planted the plastic has left me absolutely shocked by the handling of my concern. Awaiting a reply from Head Office.

First time I've used this place fast delivery but total cost for three pizzas £65 meat feast not much on it for the price and they are not big sorry but I will not use again ill use asda from the cafe 16" For £7 is 100% better then this place

Never got my order, called the shop 3 times and no answer.

Usually enjoy food from here but the pizza dough was raw especially the crust. Not great when you spend a Fortune at this type of place you expect the food to turn up at least cooked.

Got the wrong toppings on one of our pizzas. Luckily we were ordering in shop so noticed while there. Had to wait for a new one to be made. When we eventually got the correct order the pizza was well made and cooked, this saved this place with marking. Double check your order as they also had a phone call complaining about an incorrect while we were there also.

Very rude staff and manager. The online app apparently is of no use whatsoever! When they get an order wrong, there's no apology and had to demand a refund. Posted complaint on Facebook and comment was instantly removed!

First time customer and they didn’t disappoint. So much better than the main brand pizza places and by far the best pizza in the city.

This was the first time we visited this branch, the staff was so friendly, the fish and chips was like other Papa’s, best fish and chips!

Tried it to try. Nothing special it's like a nice frozen pizzas. The garlic sauce is weird bright yellow and the main ingredient is rapeseed oil is is proper cheap nasty stuff I expected a lot for the price

DO NOT USE. Customer service of the shop is aweful. Half an hour late with no phone call from them. I ring their store and they don’t answer. Twice. I therefore got the order cancelled with Just Eat. They finally deliver the food after cancelled. I explained to delivery driver I intend to rectify the issue by repaying through Just Eat. The store then call me to accuse me of theft. Absolutely aweful. DO NOT USE

Pretty expensive (similar to dominos prices) but the vegan pizza was actually pretty tasty ( don't expect the cheese to taste like the real thing. )

I've heard good things about papa John's so thought I would treat myself. I thought judging by the price it would be similar quality to Domino's. I was wrong. It was cold when it arrived and the food quality was poor. Get better quality food from the local and it would have been less than half the price even with the 40% voucher I had for Papa John's. Will not be ordering again.

Better ingredients better pizza.

Odering a Pizza from my local Papajohns - Holderness Road in Hull, proved a disaster on Saturday night. The app wouldn't let me change the toppings, so once I'd completed the order I had to call the outlet to make the necessary changes. An hour after placing the order I called to check the progress only to be told it had been delivered to my previous address, despite being prompted during ordering to confirm the desired delivery address, and receiving a confirmation e-mail of the correct delivery address. I called the store to ask to speak to the manager who is usually very helpful, I didn't recognise the call handlers voice but he insisted he was the manager. He told me it wasn't his fault, it was a problem with the website or the app and regardless of where you request the delivery to go, it will only go to your registered address. Well what is the point in that? People often eat at friends etc or go away for the weekend and may want it delivering to a hotel. If I'm away for the weekend and use the app, this means it will be delivered to my house and not my location, say at a hotel. To overcome this, from what this store manager was saying, is you need to set your location to your primary account address, regardless if it is temporary. They refused to re-imburse me/credit me next time despite paying out and not receiving anything. They insisted it was my fault regardless that I had proof in the confirmation e-mail of the address I was waiting at for my delivery.

A little more expensive than a local pizza takeaway, but well worth it. Exceptional quality.

We decided to give Papa John's a try after seeing the adverts and were disappointed. The menu is very limited and doesn't cover the standard pizzas for anyone who doesn't care for goats cheese, etc. The prices are expensive for pizzas and considering the location set to provide free delivery Wouldn't go back.

Thought we would try papas instead of dominos. We ordered a selection of pizzas for the whole family. Unfortunately they got one if the main pizzas wrong, sent it with pineapple instead of mushrooms. Very different of course. Bucause we were all eating together We had to pick all the pineapple off the pizza, as to not have to/ want to wait for everyone else to eat theirs and wait a length of time for wrong order. Plus we tried to ring them but could not get through. Eventually when we dd get to speak to someone, they told us that at if we had eaten 1 slice of pizza, they would not exchange or refund for wrong order. That it not what it says on the box..... the box states...! Love your pizza or we'll deliver you another one absolutely free. That isn't what they said to us on the phone!

Not to go to Papa John's on holderness Rd Hull because the staff didn't watch the cheesy wedges so they fell on the floor, due to lack of experience. So had to wait for more. Saw the other staff pick off a handful of the new lot of wedges but didn't see him wash his hands first.

We had to call to place our order because the website wouldn't work, got through to Paul who was pure MAGIC. Absolute banger, what a guy. Paul deserves either a raise or a large pat on the back, his choice. Thanks Paul, love you.

I've always thought that the best pizza in Hull was Dominos, having been ordering from there since the mid nineties. The reviews seemed a bit hit and miss on Google, but we thought we'd give Papa Johns a whirl. We opted for the XXL Sausage and Pepperoni, Pepperoni on its own, and cheesey garlic sticks. It was a good deal on the buy one get one free on the pizza. Ordering online was easy, and you could watch the progress of your order being cooked. Delivery to Kingswood Parks, was quick, and everything was exactly right. The pizza was delicious, really nice. I'd say it was nicer than Dominos. The garlic sauces that came with the pizza went down well too with the family. I would totally recommend. Thanks for reading :o)

First time Ive ever had Papa Johns and it was very nice! Wasnt greasy or oily at all and just hit the spot!

Had a poor experience ordering, usually order from here with no problems. I ordered a XXL BBQ Chicken Pizza and Garlic Knots online, when they came the pizza was clearly a Large in an XXL box with no BBQ sauce, I called them back and offered to bring me another which they did and was correct and clearly bigger than the previous one, although I called before I opened the garlic knots box and they didn't have the Pizza Sauce dip to go with them, which is annoying. Mistakes are okay but 3 mistakes with such a simple order , especially sending a smaller size is not good enough and shouldn't need to be corrected, otherwise I have had no problems before.

Spot on pizza's and the deals are well worth the money

Got large pizza from here last night it had that much tomato sauce on the base it made it sickly the toppings just fell off! Got spicy chicken wings and BBQ chicken wings they was swimming in sauce not good at all wrecked my tea I usually order from here all the time with no issue!!

Not a good experience. Ordered a pizza and after been stood in the shop for half an hour was then told it had been dropped on the floor and they had to start again. So another 20 minutes waiting for pizza. Not impressed. Only good thing I suppose is that they made a fresh one and didn't just pick it up off the floor.

Great pizzas, sides and deserts. Delivery time is really good. Offers are great. The only reason I knocked a star off is because their special garlic that comes with the pizzas is not nice at all. Wish there was an option to change this to the garlic and herb dip.
